san diego area

I used to eat at a Fridays near UTC. I thought it was just one light past the mall. Maybe they moved. I have never been to Bennigans.
-
Here's what I found for the area, from a UCSD campus guide - a few options, at least.
"For quick off campus food, you can go to La Jolla Village Square which has recently been remodeled. They now have a California Pizza Kitchen which serves gourmet pizza (thai chicken, goat cheese with pancetta, pesto) and salads, and Island's which has really good burgers served to you by people in Hawaiian shirts. Across the street in the Ralph's mall is a T.G.I. Friday's, which is open pretty late, and B.J.'s Pizza, which is good Chicago-style pizza. El Torito and the Elephant Bar, and the Rock Bottom Brewery are down the street"

Any of the above is fine with me. I can be there by around 11:30-11:45. Want to meet then to beat the lunch rush?
-
I'm hoping to make this one - May 12th? Just let me know when and where and I will do my best to be there. I'd like to meet my fellow San Diego BC sisters.
Is anyone doing the Y-Me breast cancer walk at Mission Bay on the 13th?
Hugs to all,
Lisa #3 -
Lisa #3--Hope you can make it. I had not heard of the Y-Me walk. Not planning on doing any serious walking anytime soon though.
-
Hi..I have been to all the restaurants that Lisa mentioned and all are good..but I like BJs the best..has all kinds of food..I agree best to get there early..
but any of them are ok with me and it would help the North County gals to have it in La Jolla to be a little closer..I don't mind the extra drive...SoCal -
I am up for anything. Maybe, even though this is a longer drive for Liz, we can kind of alternate the utc area with fashion valley? I don't care since I have time and don't mind driving, but we do want to make it as easy as possible on everyone. And Lisa #3, please do join us! I will watch this thread and will show up wherever is decided.
Melia -
UTC area for me is better too. This time I can make it then, it's not far from my house. I believe there's a Chili's there too by Embassy Suites.
So...May 12, 11:30, where?
Thanks,
Myra -
Don't worry about me getting there. Fashion Valley is not much farther than UTC. I was just concerned about going all the way to Shelter Island.
-
Actually the restaurants that Lisa mentioned are at La Jolla Town center which is off Nobel Drive, West of I-5
not UTC... -
Either or. I will be there. 5, 805, 15 doesn't matter.
-
Ok how about BJ's at 1130

Hi everyone - I am pretty new to the club. I have posted a few times and LisaSDCA did tell me check out the "get together" section for the next gathering. I am just doing so now & see you are going to get together on May 12th at BJ's at 11:30am??? Is that right?? I would like to try and join you if that is okay to meet some fellow bc sisters. I may have another friend that was also recently dx stage 4 join us if she is available if that is okay with everyone. Please let me know. I look forward to meeting you.
Sheri -
Sheri - definitely do come - and bring your friend!
And Lisa #3 and Myra - how cool it would be if we could all get together this time!
BJ's Rest. at 11:30 on the 12th works for me, too.
Lisa

I will be there too. And Sheri, welcome to you and your friend. Myra too, and anyone else who wants to join us! I look forward to meeting you and to seeing everyone else.
Melia -

I thought I had a conflict with my sons flag football game Saturday morning, but it just got switched to 5pm Friday evening, so I should be able to be there. My family is having an early mothers day get together around 1-1:30, but I really want to be there to meet you all if only for an hour or so. And I'm in UC, so BJ's is just a few minutes from me which will be perfect. Hope to see you all there.
Lisa #3 -
Great Lisa #3. I look forward to meeting you. Just look for the chatter box ladies. We just go none stop. If it doesn't cool down today maybe I will go without the wig (doubt it). Has it been hot or what?
-
I'll be there
See you,
Myra -
Anyone hear from Shirlann? We need her there too! So glad the new ladies are joining us too.
Melia -
Shirlann can't make it this time..her family is celebrating Mothers' Day on Sat instead of Sunday
