I'm planning on being there, too!
Lisa -
Sorry girls, hosting 8 13 year olds for food, fun, and games. I hope we do this again. How 'bout in Orange County? We could include San Berdoo, LA, Riverside Counties.
Post some pix. Wish I could be there...

Shall I wear my pink baseball cap so we will all know each other???
Lisa -
I'll have on a scarf so you can't miss me. Anyone going to bring a camera. I am not so good at uploading pictures on here. It would be nice to share with others though.
-
I will bring the camera !!
-
Chevys does take reservations. I made one for 6 people for 12:00 on Saturday in my name. If anyone is bringing a friend let me know and I will change number.

I had a great time. And the photo came out so nicely! We need to do it again ... it is so nice to talk to women who "get it".
Melia -
Thanks so much for sharing the photos, looks like all had a great time! The smiles on everyone are so encouraging especially for those beginning this difficult journey, where a happy face is sometimes hard to come by.
Best wishes to all. -
What a fabulous time! I went to have lunch with some fellow members of bc.org, but I left having met with friends. We were quite a group - one long-time survivor, one even longer-time survivor, one having recently finished chemo, one in the middle of chemo, and one starting chemo next week (me). The sisterhood I felt gave me so much encouragement and comfort. The vitality and energy present in these women was inspiring. And at this point, inspiration is a treasure for me - thanks, you guys!
It would be delightful to do this again. Maybe even a few other So CA folks can make it. Maybe a Saturday in April? How's the 14th look?
Thank you for taking a picture to share, SoCal Lisa!
{{{hugs to my new buds!}}}

Anytime, anytime, I had a WONDERFUL time with my sisters and would love to do it again whenever!
Being retired now, I can come so count me in.
Thanks Lisa for taking the pix and love to all of you for coming together and just having a good old girls good time.
Hugs, Shirlann -
I would love to do it again on the 14th LisaSDCA. Please let us know how you are doing with your chemo. We will firm up the date when it gets closer.
-
The 14th is fine with me. Should we look at somewhere that isn't such a trek for the three who don't live in North County? And anyone else in So Cal, join us!
Melia -
Sounds like a plan...it was pretty far from Bonita...
How about something in Mission Valley..about half way??
SoCal -
Perfect. We need to make it as easy for everyone as we can. Saturdays are free for me so I can drive anywhere.
Melia -
Well, there is another Chevy's, right off the 8 & 15, at 1202 Camino Del Rio N., near Mission Gorge - if we want to stick to the same formula. There's also my favorite little sushi place in the same strip mall - but I guess that's no longer an option for me. For a while.
Lisa -
Saturday's are harder for me because I have to get a sitter but I will see if I can find one by then. Sunday is best for me but the places will be more crowded then. Sushi is not something I am williing to eat after trying it once. Shirlann is there any place close to you that you would like to go to.

Hi! I'm Lisa (#3 from reading through this post). I'm newly diagnosed and new to this site. I live in University City (near UTC) and would love to participate with the rest of you locals on this journey.
-
Welcome Lisa #3. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. We would love to have you join our little San Diego group. As you can see we are all in different phases of our journey. If we can help just ask.
Will you be able to join us for the next luncheon?
LisaSDCA--I left you message at home. How did it go? Were you able to change oncs? -
Hi Lisa #3,
Yes, please do join us. Last Sat was our first luncheon and it was so great. We would love to have more San Diego (Orange County too!) ladies. I felt so encouraged and uplifted!
Melia -
Hop on board Lisa#3 the more the merrier!!
