So far I have: Shirlann, SoCalLisa, LisaSDCA, Melia, Myra, me.
Lisa #3, Lini, and Brenda #2 are you coming?
I think that is everyone? Sorry if I missed somebody. I can call in a reservation like last time. Not that we needed one that day. Let me know. -
I may have to skip. I'm starting radiation tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. this week. Will go to Legoland with daughter on Saturday the 14th; we'll see if I'm up to it. Don't wait for me.
Thanks. -
Myra-Hope you feel up to it. I have heard the rads make you tired. You still have to eat though.
O.K. I called the Cheese Cake Factory and they will take a reservation for 11:00 on Sunday. I could just make it for 9 or 10. If only 6 of us show-up I don't think they will care.
Here is the address:
7067 Friars Road, San Diego, CA 92108
(619) 683-2800
Located at the Fashion Valley Mall. Off Friars Road, just outside of Robinsons May on the north east side of the Mall. -
Thanks, Brenda, for taking care of details. I'll be there if I have to crawl! It was so wonderful to be with you ladies last month that I hope this becomes a regular group.
Myra - I do hope you can make it, too. After a day with the hordes at Legoland, you'll deserve some me-time on Sunday!
How about our Riverside County contingent? Anyone up for a Sunday drive?
Lisa -
Thanks Brenda..see you there!!
-
oh, goodness. I was just reminded last night that I have an ALL day Master Gardener's Seminar to attend on Saturday. I have to leave the house at 7am and won't be back until dinner time. Usually this wouldn't be an issue, but at the point where I am with chemo, it's going to be a challenge! Add to it my durn auto-immune disease fatigue and I really need to rest up for this weekend. Unfortuately I haven't been able to get to sleep before 2am for the last 4 nights running.
Nevertheless, I will leave the seminar early rather than deplete myself to the point of not being there on Sunday. Like I said - even if I have to crawl!
Lisa -
Well I just called to make a reservation and the guy told me I have to call back on Sunday morning before they open. What? I told them someone else told me since it was going to be so early I could make it anytime before that. Whatever.
As long as we are there before the after church rush we should be fine. Shirlann did say they weren't busy that early. -
See you all tomorrow.
-
I'll be there!!!
-
I made it through my all-day seminar today - YAY!
And I will be there for brunch tomorrow - even if it's raining. I am such a strange one about rain - it makes me cranky (maybe a good reason to live in SD, huh?) so I hunker down at home. My car is a year old and has only been rained on once, so that tells you how much I go out in the rain. I know - weird person.
But I'm looking forward to seeing you ALL tomorrow!
Lisa -
Here we are...today...
SoCalLisa, BMD(Brenda),Shirlann, LisaSDCA and Meliaanne -
Thank you, Liz for taking and posting the picture! I just knew I should have grabbed Melia to come stand close-in. Don't we all look like we are about to go drop some major money in Bloomies!?! How wonderful to spend time with you all again. It just went by so quickly! You four are like the best anti-anxiety med out there!
I appreciate the driving the North County members did to meet us in central SD this time. I'm ready to schedule our May meeting as soon as we can coordinate it. My not-so-good weekend will be the 19th-20th.
Oh - Melia, I checked and I do have some Vit.E softgels left, so I will try your suggestion for mouthsores next time. Thanks again.
hugs,
Lisa -
What a great time of visiting and sharing. I love our get- togethers. You guys made me feel so much better than I had been feeling.
With the 19th-20th out that leaves the 26th or 27th but that is Memorial Day week-end. Should we wait until the 1st week of June? Where should we go next time? -
It was fun today!!! The first weekend in June sounds good to me but not the second and third weekends.. we will be back east.
-
Liz,
thanks for posting the photo! I loved the get together. I can meet anytime, pretty much, am busy the rest of April, but May and June look ok. July is crazy. Just let me know when and where. I don't mind driving.
Melia -
Rather than wait for a May meet-up until June, why don't we try for the 12th-13th weekend? Does that seem workable for you others? That's four weeks away, so I know I can work in either Sat. or Sun.
Lisa -
I think Mother's Day is the 13? But the 12th works for me. Also, the weekend of May 19 is out ... my son will be home for a few days before leaving for Washington DC for a summer internship, and I won't see him again til August.
Wish me luck with Taxol on Wed. Blood test today to see if my counts are high enough ... it was sooo lovely to have the extra week off.
stay well all.
Melia -
I can try to find a babysitter for the 12th. The 13th won't work for me though. I will let you know.
-
May 12th is good for me..Melia..thinking of you on Wednesday..
-
May 12th works for me, too. Mother's Day. I'll be busy getting spoiled.
melia - have you heard about your counts yet? I'll bet they've bounced back for you. Let us hear how things go tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you!
Lisa -
May 12 is sounding pretty positive for most of us; we need Shirlann to chime in. And anyone else is certainly welcome!
Yep, Lisa, the blood work was great. I feel fine, can't believe the diff. Tomorrow is taxol, then out of town til Sat. I hope it goes ok; I can and will cancel the trip otherwise. It's business but I am also seeing all three kids, so want to go if I feel well.
Hope you are feeling ok. And everyone else too.
Melia -
You all look good! Sorry didn't make it. I was just sooo tired from Legoland on Saturday. Had so much to do on Sunday. Didn't get up til 10 anyway that day. I'll check this site and keep notes of when you'll be meeting next.
I'm finally on medical leave starting April 12. NO work for 4 months, return August 6th. I am so excited. I did gardening (actually pulling out weeds) for an hour this morning. So next time you guys meet, I might make it.
FYI I'm signed up for May 31-June 3 Breast Cancer Retreat at Joshua Tree sponsored by Chyrsalis To Wings. I only had to pay $90 for the 2 nights/3 days weekend. Activities include healing arts, hikes, meditative workshops, massage and facials, etc. Contact 949-916-6851 or email francine@chyrsalistowings.com if you're interested in joining.
It'd be fun to chat for 3 days,
Myra -
Well the date is coming up again soon and we still need a place. any suggestions?? Or even which section of the county?? I am driving to the Red Sails for lunch on Saturday..it is on the spit going out to Shelter Island.
I can check places out there..LisaSD..how about places near you??
Hugs, SoCal -
I'm easy, wherever everyone else wants. thanks for organinzing this Liz! Am looking forward to seeing everyone.
Melia -
I am easy, too. But, having lived in Pt.Loma for 8 years, getting in/out of and parking on Shelter Island on a pretty Saturday might be tough. The Mission Valley location seemed pretty central last time (although Brenda had a looong drive). Should we try for that area again? Probably only about two dozen restaurants/cafes to choose from.
Lisa -
I wonder if there is somewhere easy in the utc area, either off the 5 or 805, which might be more central. Since Brenda needs to factor in a sitter's time, that might be more feasible for her?
Melia -
That sounds good to me..do you know any restaurants there??
-
I have a sitter. I am in. She said she could get here by 10:30 a.m.. I would need at least 1 hour to get to Shelter Island. It sounds pretty but I hate to waste so much time on the road.
The only places I know of around UTC is PF Chang's or Friday's. Chang's is kind of pricey isn't it? -
I think the TGIFridays is at the other LaJolla center..which is ok too
we could also do Bennigans in Mission Valley -
I would vote for Bennigan's and Mission Valley over UTC. To me, traffic/traffic patterns getting in and out of the UTC area will easily add as much time as continuing on down 805 to Mission Valley would. And Brenda, you come from inland, right? A straight shot down the 15 to the 8 loses a lot of the traffic, IMHO.
But, I'm not the one doing the driving. So let me know where to be and I'll be there!
Lisa
