will poaT A JOK LATER JANICER -
Nicki - They are just making sure you understand incase they let you go you can't turn around and sue them. I'm no labor attorney but I do know that if you are exempt employee you don't have any legal recourse. You are just that "exempt' for the labor laws. That is how I understand it but maybe the HR experts in our group can explain it better.

Good evening ladies. The day has flown and I haven't done anything productive, but then I rarely do. My leg has bothered me I can't seem to get this air camboot filled the comfortable amnt. I don't want it too tight. My ankle where they took the screw out has been clean everyday when I take the bandage off except last night and it had some gunk on it. I go see my Onc. friday for another 3 month check up and then I go to my regular MD monday afternoon to get these stitches out. I wish it were the other way around with the dr visits.
Nicki, funny answer on your interview question. I never have watched the show but I see it advertised.
WildJan, thank you.
Melody, I'm not sure if I greeted you or not but in case I didn't..Welcome to the Circle.
Casino Girl, glad to see you here. I'm sure there's an interesting story behind your new name. LOL
Karol, welcome to the Circle, so glad to have you.
Janny, hey girlyfriend! I sure hope you are coming to the big shin-dig next year.
Margarette, thank you for asking about Amber, she hasn't had any results yet. Small town.
Anne, you are so sweet, thank you.
Suz, thank you for the advice, there's no swelling but there is some redness around it.
Amy, there are just very few things in this life sweeter/cuter than puppies. I took pics of mine once a week.
Thanks for the uhh advice.
Shirley, come home now. You've been gone too long.
Vickie, happy your onc appt turned out well but poor little Nate.
Gina, OMG, I'm not the emotional type but that video put such a lump in my throat...after I loaded it for 426 hours! I hate dial up.
Marsha, we haven't been out to play in a long time, we could both use a little recess time if you ask me.
Mena, you were supposed to be here but if you were you forgot to leave the bread crumbs.
Iris, don't stay away so long this time.
Boo, I'm missin you. Does anyone know if she's on vacation? I had her email and phone # but I don't know what I did with it. I'll PM her.
I'm so glad to belong to this wonderful circle. I have so many friends here. May the Circle be unbroken.

cheri -
Gina, Thank you!!!! The video is perfect. I am all choked up.
Nicki, just walk away and kiss it good bye. You don't need more stress in your life right now.
Cheri, I hope you are okay!
Vickie, I must tell you that Nate was a delight! You should be very proud!
I have no time left tonight. So..... I shall say goodnight to all my sisters. Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!
Bugs and fishes, Deb!
I love you all to bits! -
Cheri, hi girly friend! We were posting at the same time! I'll have to start working on my DH now for next year. Our problem is taking off the time from work. It is at the top of my priority list though!

Subject: : In Case Of Emergency
Please do this - you never know when your bridge will collapse!
This is a reminder to store "ICE" in your cellphone! If you haven't done this already, this is a really great idea. Everyone should get on board.
From a recent article in the Toronto Star: The "ICE" idea is catching on, and it is a very simple, yet important, method of contact for you or a loved one in case of an emergency.
As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is program the number of a contact person or persons and store the name as "ICE". The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which numbers to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name to file "next of kin" under. Following a disaster in London , the East Anglian Ambulance Service has launched a national "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) campaign. The idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and with it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency." In an emergency situation, Emergency Services personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number programmed under "ICE."
Please forward. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. For more than one contact name, simply enter ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc. This is a great idea that could really make a difference! -
that joke was too funny Jankay...spit popsickle all over my computer screen. My boss is short and we are always making "short" jokes so I will have a good one to send him tomorrow...may end up unemployed but wth.
good night all...been busy working on the journals and pics of Pinkstock and the Pinkstock website which is giving me grief LOL....I will see you all in the morning...sweet dreams and lotsa love.
Vickie -
Good evening everyone
I haven't had a chance to catch up yet and really am not sure I will.
A lady from here, whom I've met, died from this horrid disease at the young age of 47 day before yesterday. Hit me a bit hard as she had the exact diagnosis as I did. She fought a long hard almost 20 years battle. Please say a prayer for Sundy's family.
Know that each and every one of you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Still not feeling to good so think I'll head to bed.
Hugs
Liz -
Oh man, I just watched the video again...I'm still crying! I thought I might be able to hold it together the second time around, but no such luck. Gina, it is just perfect!
Cheri, I'm working on Jan too! I hope that your leg feels better soon. I've been saying prayers for you and Amber.
Vickie, Nate is just wonderful. In fact, Suz's children and MB's grands are wonderful too! You should all be so proud of them. BTW, I'm glad to hear that your appointment went well!
Nicki, I'd walk away too! The right job is out there.
Marsha, sorry that you have having such a tough time. Big hugs to you!
Charlene, your niece's artwork is just beautiful! Sending you hugs!
Jankay and Robin, hugs to both of you!! I can't believe how hot it is in Tennessee.
Deb, great news about your friend! Have a safe trip home.
Amy, my daughter took one look at those puppy pictures, curled her lips into a pout, and asked if we could have one. My hubby actually wants another dog and has been obsessively researching bernese mountain dogs on the internet...I guess it's better than him looking at porn.
I wish I had more time, but I need to pay some bills and head off to bed. I have an early appointment with my breast surgeon in the morning, so it will take me a while to fall asleep! Where are those xanax lollipops??
Love you all! Sweet dreams, my circle family!
Sue -
Hi everyone,
I will try and catch up on the reading tomorrow. We are back and I just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. Vacations are great things.
I guess some of my sisters are not feeling well. Liz I hope you are better tomorrow. And Cheri, keep the faith baby. Your leg is gonna be fine.
Nicki it just wasn't the right job. You would not have enjoyed it.
Deb glad to hear your friend is ok.
Odalys , it's not fun to wait. I hope your sisters tests turn out ok.
Jankay, it was really nice to talk with you on the phone. glad you got to talk with Robin too. She's very nice.
hi denise and vickie. i still hurt from laughing.
I will check back in tomorrow. gotta unpack!!!!
Oh yes, Cooperstown was great. Took pictures of pictures my favorite baseball stars. We also went to see friends in Cazenovia NY. It was beautiful. -
Gina count me in on the care package. Good idea.
Carrie always good to see your avatar and read your posts. Ive missed you sweet sister. Glad to see you are doing well.
Mena how are you? Did you make it to Pinkstock?
Karen good luck with your folks. I hope you can check in with us and decompress if you have to.
Wild/Jan the picture with the protesters stumped me. It seems twisted, absolute madness.
Suz I can relate to eating a whole bag of candy. Ive done that too many times. Glad to hear your nodule was benign. I did some research on nodules last night and it seems they are for the most part benign. I hope hers is.
Amy those puppies are adorable. Steven wants one.
Marsha I had to laugh at your post. Just when you think they have looked at every part of your body they pull out a wand like thing that has like a golf ball on the end Exactly! Ive had several of those done. Also had hormone levels measured. It seems its all routine on this journey.
Casino girl welcome here. Glad to meet you.
Brenda have you tried cleaning your cookies and changing the security on your computer so you cant get the pop ups? Also you may need to install a spam blocker.
Sue good luck with you appointment tomorrow. These are just for you. Hope they help you sleep. -
Adrionna - I just recently moved to Tempe, AZ and love it.
Gina - The special tribute video was great. Nice job.
Amy - Love those puppies. What kind are they?
Melody -
Zazette - Where in So Cal are you located? I grew up in San Diego and lived many years in Orange County. I now live in Tempe, AZ, but have and plan to continue traveling to Orange County often.
Melody -
Morning girls, a big storm is rolling through and my dog is freaking out so here I sit. LOL
Melody! - welcome to the cirlce. I see you finally got out of Minneapolis. Such a horrible tragedy with the bridge. I thought of you. You will love these girls. They are fantastic.
Z - your words are always so wonderful and comforting
Cheri - hon my prayers are always with you. Sounds like you caught whatever is happening early. I'm glad you see your MD on Monday. Any chance you can get in earlier for peace of mind?
Susan - welcome home
Guz - your hubby is so nice. Sure do miss you!
Vickie & Nicki - guess I beat you both this morning. LOL
Good morning sunshine sisters.
Okay - big thunder & lightening. Guess I'd best turn this thing off.
Have a great day
Hugs
Liz -

Good Morning Everyone: Woke up to the sounds of crickets and thunder in the distance. Must have stormed and I slept through it. Despite it being warm and humid, I just put more logs on the fire and coffee is brewing. There is mist in the air and its seems to be taking the aroma of the coffee to everyones wagon. The birds havent started singing their songs yet. Just very quiet and peaceful with the crickets in the background. Maybe the birds are hiding from the storms we had last night.
The ground was wet as I walked around our wagon circle, but the trees and flowers were whispering to me. They were very thirsty and told me they would be in full bloom when the sun comes up. Already August 9th - this month is flying by.
Just started cooking some bacon, Im sure that will wake some of you up. Thought we would have pancakes covered in a special blueberry sauce that I made last night. Sugar free too. Have a huge fruit bowl too - all the summer fruits have been marinating with each other over night, so it will be bursting with flavor. Think I have everyones diet covered and hoping you will stop by for some breakfast before you head out for the day.
As I peaked into each of your wagons I could see smiles on your faces while you were sleeping. A peaceful smile - one that only Pinkstock could put on your faces. What a wonderful moment for so many of you.
Odalys: You sister having to wait for the US just stinks. Seems like more and more doctors are employing insenstive staff. I dont care attitude. Now if it were me who made the mistake, I would have changed that order to STAT. They could have squeezed it in, instead of making both of you wait and have another fearful night. Hoping all goes well with the US today.
Cheri: Someone mentioned earlier about getting a culture done which I thought was a pretty good idea. Dont like the idea of thinking you have an infection brewing.
For some reason the computer is moving very slow this morning. Im it doesnt go out like it did yesterday morning.
Jan: This would really have been a job from hell. When I got home and my DH and I talked about it, we were laughing our arses off. No wonder they cant find anyone to fill this position. As an advocate for the older adult, I will never, ever refer anyone to Sunrise. The corporate attitude and lack of compassion was very clear. But I must say - it was good practice being asked questions in an interview. Loved the pics I saw of you at Pinkstock.
Vickie: Im laughing. Short mans syndrome. We joke about it all the time. Oh and the guy that interviewed my yesterday? He was short.
Jankay: Funny one. Got a good laugh out of it.
Liz: So sorry to hear about another person becoming an angel from this disease at such an early age. Just always hits home. I had to evaluate a 35 year old woman yesterday who had cancer of the uterus. She was Jehovah Witness, so didnt get treatment. Now the cancer is everywhere and she was coming to Whitehall on Hospice. So sad - so very young.
Guz: I think I have come to realize that I have a pretty good job. Not stressful, flexible. Week-end and holidays off. Now if I could just get them to pay me a little more money. Right now, Im gonna stop searching. Wishing you good luck with your appt today with the BS.
BMD: Im not compueter savy. Do you have pop up blocked? Thats what I do to prevent that from happening. Actually thats another reason I dont like myspace. All of a sudden I was getting unwanted pop ups and couldnt get back to what I was doing.
Madison: Its always good to be busy. Although I must admit I hate it when it gets in the way of my computer time. Football! First exhibition games start this week-end. I cant wait.
Susan: Sounds like you had a wonderful time. You and SoCal just missed each other as she was in Cooperstown last week I think. Smiling and laughing til your cheeks hurt - thats good. The thought of it is making me smile right now.
LIz: Ahahaha you were the first early morning sunshine sister. Hope that storm passes by quickly. -
good morning all!
Liz...a new sunshine sister...somehow I don't think you'll be making a habit of this LOL! Have a grand day...miss ya and sending a hug.
Odalys...I can't wait to go to Florida...I will let you, and everyone else, know when I will be there. DD has a laptop so I won't be suffering from board withdrawls!
Good morning Jankay...2 and 3 were my favorite but laughed at them all. Hope your day is good.
Guz...thank you. I was amazed at how well all the kids got along. They were terrific. Watching them all sitting together around the campfire was so sweet.
Melody...welcome! Glad you are here.
Cheri pal...Nate about broke my heart yesterday and made me hate this friggin disease even more (if that could be possible) but talking to my doctor did him a world of good. How is the foot? Worrying here.
Madison...miss ya giggle sister!
Off to work I go.
Love and hugs all around
Vickie -
Good morning girls
I finally just hauled my butt out of bed I was obsessively looking at the clock every ten minutes anyway, so I figured since I wasnt sleeping I might as well be here talking too you I know it is silly, but I really hate to fly. Say a little prayer for me if you have a moment I will be the one on the plane holding on to the arm rests really hard willing the plane to stay in the air you know that is why air flight is possible dont you? There is always at least one freaked out flyer pulling up on those arm rests .LOL
Gus- If you hubby is looking at burmese mountain dogs you should tell him to try looking at Karelian Bear Dogs too. They are a little smaller (dont know how much room you have) and are also very cool dogs. I know folks who have both. The Burmese have VERY think coats. By the way I LMAO at the porn comment Hey! I bet either dog would keep away the scary squirrels! LOL
OK gotta pace and finish packing. I will try and catch up with everyone when I get home just skimmed the last couple of pages .saw some new gircle girls WELCOME
Bugs and Fishes
Deb C -
good morning ladies. Cheri thanks for thinking of me. I miss you all too. Been busy running amok with my sis. Distraction is the word of the day/week/whatever. The story is getting uglier and uglier as it unfolds. I'm feeling like were walking around in a soap opera.
Marsha I'm gonna be giving you a call in the next couple of days. Choca/Elaine you too. I'm pretty sure I still have your number from last time I was here.
Off in search of this video. Loving all the pics from Pinkstock.
See ya later. -
Deb praying for a safe flight home. You will be fine. According to Superman flying is still the safest way to travel.
-
Nicki, sorry the job didnt work out. But it was definitely better to find all that out before you started working there rather than after!
AlwaysHope, I am so lucky to have such great doctors, I thank God every day for the fact that I at least have peace of mind that I am getting the best care possible. And, the best part is, most of them are within 15 minutes of my home!
Wild/Jan, I always feel so good when I get rid of clutter! Took a bunch of things to Goodwill last weekend, and it is so nice to have some extra space in my closet!
Robin, going back to school? That is awesome!
Amy, adorable puppies!
Denise, thanks for the welcome back. I did miss everyone here . I was in one of those periods where I was keeping my head in the sand and pretending cancer never existed. But I cant do that forever, and eventually I missed the boards too much to stay away anymore!
Marsha, geez, what a lot to deal with .here is a big hug and I hope it all gets worked out soon.
Margaret, Ill send you a PM! Thanks for offering to send the instructions!
Had to stop reading .need to get to work! My apologies to everyone I missed. My biopsies are tomorrow, 8:15 in the morning. I just want to get it over with!
I hope everyone has a good day!
Kristin -
Hey Vic- Did you have a swim with cute over the fence guy??? Enquiring ( read that as totally nosy) minds want to know LOL
Shirley - thanks for the prayers....I always DID love superman
Love Ya
Deb C -
Wow! Lots of early morning sunshine sisters today. I was still trying to read the posts from yesterday when I saw a whole new page.
DebC: Good luck on your flight today. Im with you, I feel helpless when Im on a plane. Usually a xanax and a bloody mary calm me down.
Sherloc: I was just thinking of you. We must have had a mental telepathy experience. Its good to hear from you. It sounds like you have been wonderful support for your sister. Miss you when your not here.
Kristen: Denial land is a good place to be sometimes. Have been there myself, but I sure am glad your back. Somehow I missed a post of yours. What biopsies are you having tomorrow? Wishing B9 B9 B9.
Robin: Going back to school will be alot of fun I think. I would enjoy that. NP are a big thing here in the Chicago area - the times they are a changing.
PurpleMB: Im just picturing you sitting back with you feet up and the biggest smile of satisfaction on your face. You pulled it all together and what a wonderful event. Still so envious I couldnt be there. I sure enjoyed your dinner last night, and I have breakfast cooking this morning.
Colleen: Good morning to you my dear friend. There is food cooking in the wagon circle - seems like things are back to normal. Hoping you have a good day.
MargaretB: Wow, the rings on my fingers feel loose too.
I know I have missed many, saying hello from A to Z. I have to go hit the showers and get ready for work. Have a wonderful day.
Nicki -
Good morning all
DH has the computer so I'm posting from the Blackberry.
I'll try to check in from work
Have a great day everyone -
Just popping in with a quick good morning!
Deb: Have a safe flight home.........you will be fine!! I'm not the best flyer either...I get bored just sitting there...but then again I'm not the best car rider either....I get bored just sitting there!
Odalys: Prayers for your sister. I am beginning to think that so many Docs and Techs are taking classes in "how to make patient stress the most." So insensitive.............
Susan: Glad to hear you have made it back and are accounted for! How's little Buffy?
Madison: See you have the Blackberry aka Blueberry out!!
Good morning to you!
Vickie: I felt so bad when I read about Nate crying in the waiting room............you've got yourself a special little boy! And I'm glad all is well with you.
Nicki: Still chuckling over your answer to your "hero" at the interview! Glad you've decided to put things on hold. Maybe when you least expect it, the perfect position will pop up!
Guz: I just got Susans new avatar........maybe out of the blue..McSquirrel will show up here! Dog or Porn......some choice!!
Shirley: I'm glad to hear from you and hope things are "okay" with Sister. I know you have to be there, but am anxiously awaiting your return home.
Kristen: Glad you're back. Denial land hits all of us at sometime or another...........get those kids back in school and get working on that CD!!
JanKay: Good morning to you! Good jokes and I'm glad you're moving better today!
I agree, all of the kids at Pinkstock were so good and got along great! There weren't many there, but they kinda bonded too!!
I really could give a crap about going to work today (or any day.)..but guess I should get my hiney moving!
Marsha: Hope you're doing better.......I really miss your humor, but know that we all have a down side too. I hope your new surgeon is nicer than the Moran you've been seeing!
Hugs to all,
Denise -
The boards were down around 10:30 last night and this morning they are so slow - hope they stay up!!
Ok, let me complain -again- about the heat. It was 102 here yesterday - a new record. Probably will set a new one today also. Heat index 110 - IN NC!!!!!!!! My worst fear is that the A/C is gonna go out at work again - please say a prayer it doesn't.
Gina, like Cheri (and maybe a few others) I have dial up. I watched the Pinkstock video as best I could, it cuts in and out. It meant so much to me because even with Avatar's you only get a glimpse of our sisters, if that. Somehow I feel more connected with the pictures. So beautifully done and "what a wonderful World" is one of my favorite songs.
Deb - glad you checked in and on your way home. Here is another sister that isn't good at flying AND I don't do it often so flying and making connections, finding my way around in airports, well it scares me to no end to try. I got a good chuckle out of flying because of the arm rest; guess I help them fly too. Glad that your friend got good news about the lymph node.
Susan - glad you are home safely. Unpack, rest and share some stories with us too.
Cheri, hope your ankle keeps improving and the pain is less.
Vicki - glad your appointment went well. Your story about Nate made me cry. I'm glad that the doctor took the time to talk to him - far to many wouldn't have. I think we all knew he was a special little boy - you sure are loved too.
Amy, I'm with others. Those are the cuttiest Puppies - you know there is no way you can part with them. I hope the temp. cool down before school starts. Did you enjoy your trip to Atlanta???
Marsha - vent away; you certainly had reason. No one ever touched my port but the oncology office - who flushed it during treatment? A friend walked out on a discussion of insurance??? I'm with others - wasn't much of a friend if she stays away. We DO have problems in our system and there are BIG flaws - we all know many of that stuff first hand and doctors that are tired of working in the system. At this point, I do still believe it is the best healthcare "overall". Problems, oh yeah!! One is the BS who won't do the surgery - hope you like the new BS on the 20th and he agrees to do the surgery.
Jankay - sorry that yesterday wasn't a good day. Your jokes always bring smiles - I loved the "dwarf" one!!! I hope it helps you that the CG's so enjoy them.
Robin - feel better. It is miserably hot here too.
Nicki - I'm sure you and your hubby laughed over that job interview. No, that is not the job you are/were looking for. Like you, the form they gave you to fill out would have been red flag "RUN".
Kristin - I know that I've pretended that cancer never came knocking on my door. That is often when I pull away (or overwhelmed) but like you, I come back. I miss everyone and the bonds that were formed during their treatment and sharing our lives after treatment. Good luck on the biopsies.
Hoping we can have lots of sunshine in our lives today - I cherish each and every one of you!!!
Got this in an e-mail this morning - thought I would share. I can relate!!!!
I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be....Puhleeeeeeeze! I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate.
Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.
In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts; we are flying squirrels in drag.
Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.
Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.
Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, "Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too."
Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we're sitting on our biggest ones.
Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think: "For this I have stretch marks?"
In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.
Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally -- more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin.
Mid-life means that you become more reflective . . . You start pondering the "big" questions. What is life?
Why am I here?
How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice?
But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it! -
Finally, the boards were down sporadically yesterday; couldn't get on after lunch so finally gave up.
Marsha, my port would get flushed out at the infusion center every six weeks. There were times when they had to try twice to get a blood return and couldn't do it because it was clogged. After a few months of that I had it removed at the PS office when I was having nipples and tattooing done since I no longer needed it.
Elaine, you iron clothes? I'm lucky I fold them.
Vickie, glad the appt went well yesterday. I don't know how you went without a cell phone all this time. Make sure you keep us posted about Florida - I'm trying to work out a trip to Disney World with the grandkids in October.
Gina, what a nice tribute to Pinkstock - video was great, music was perfect, Photobucket was having a tough time buffering it though.
Wild/Jan, I didn't realize that was the same group of protestors. Those protestors frost me like you wouldn't believe.
Nicki, sounds the job was not the one for you. Thanks for the coffee and bacon this morning and the pancakes with blueberry sauce were yummy.
Brenda, that's so frustrating. That happened to my hubby's computer too. I had to run several spyware programs to get rid of it. The one that worked the best was AVG Anti-Virus and you can download it for free. Then I set hubby's security settings high. He hasn't complained lately so I guess I fixed it.
Cheri, I didn't realize your camboot had to be filled with air. Mine didn't, it just strapped on.
Liz, your new avatar looks familiar. Saying an extra prayer for Sundy's family.
And Sue/Gus has a new name, Guz.....love it. On the fence about the avatar - the avatar is fine it's the big pic I saw that was scary. I remember reading the story but now I forgot it.
Deb, glad your friend is ok.
Melody, where did you move from? Oh, I see you are from Orange County. Does the heat get to you in AZ?
Kristin, good luck with the biopsies. B9, B9.
Shirley, glad you were around today; miss seeing you.
Time to get moving; sorry if I missed you his morning but I thought of you all.
Margaret
