Hi girls, late so going to make it quick, skimmed through the posts and it looks like everybody is doing OK. DH and I went to see Knives Out and and then went out to dinner with another couple, Movie was good, my kind of humor. So I had my nuclear bone scan yesterday and my MO called me this afternoon to say the area on my spine that's causing my very minor pain may be arthritis but scan couldn't confirm for sure so she wants me to get an MRI, maybe next week. Yikes, more strees.... I;m leaving for Fort Myers next Thursday to see Molly, she is there for the winter....
love and prayers to Illmae, feel better soon
, Love you girls, sweet dreams!

Goldie - thanks for the news on Illmae. Praying she can get some rest & food in 🙏

good morning Loungettes! Sadie and I had a lovely lazy day yesterday, after working at a little bit of extra to cover during the week I didn’t have to go in at all on Friday. Didn’t hurt my feelings in the least ,didn’t hurt Sadie’s feelings in the least either. We had a very lazy day accomplishing next to nothing except resting up and fighting off a cold. Today gray and gloomy supposed to start getting some rain this afternoon yuck but such is life. I will be working a couple of 12 hour shifts a week for the next couple of weeks to help cut down on agency overtime but I’ve got it scheduled out in advance with breaks afterwards and options to start later the next day if I want to so it should be OK. If not at least it’s only two weeks, And I don’t have to do it anymore after that.
Jazzy— The garage people canceled yet again so I gave them the boot and found another company and have an appointment for next Friday to get the garage door fixed. This is for the same company that fixed it last time, the work was OK but I really didn’t appreciate cleaning up all the cigarette butts from the driveway afterwards. Hopefully it won’t be that way this time around. I think it’s a good idea that you’re calling your sister-in-law‘s aunt and keeping in touch with her that way. Such a difficult time all the way around.
Cammy cat—No picture with the DOTD because I’m still working off the Kindle and the phone and that’s just too much like work. I hope the electricians going to get free soon! Next shopping trip I am going to pick up a couple of heavy duty extension cords and see if I can get the desk computer back up and running. I like looking up restaurant menus on the computer before going to, it’s fun to be able to take my time and decide what I might want. Of course, I usually order something else when I finally get there. Your dog is pushing the shingles and the pneumonia shot because having had cancer and been through treatment we’re all at higher risk of getting shingles. And while weight loss generally is considered a good thing 20 pounds in a short period of time when you’re not trying to lose weight can be a sign that somethings wrong somewhere. But it’s always up to you if you really don’t want to go through the tests say no. Without your consent they can’t touch you.
chi— Icy slippery stuff is not fun to deal with! That Lyft driver sounds like a total idiot. That dinner you describe sounds wonderful. Never heard of starch blocking pills. Sounds really interesting. I take it they work well?Cammy Cat— I’m sure by now somebody has mentioned that ASAP means as soon as possible! Your dog must think somethings going on. And there’s nothing wrong with making everything about you, that’s what we’re all here for right?
key west— All that traveling sounds like a world of fun! Don’t blame you about wanting to avoid stressful airports though.
Chi— Those automated billing payment plans can be really nice when they work but boy it doesn’t take much to mess them up does it? And it seems to me the city could afford a better system than that, or to better train their people on how to use it, but they always go for the cheapest road out And end up paying more in the time and trouble it takes to deal with the problems. And happy birthday to you! Sounds like the dinner was really nice. A coffee and tea sommelier, what a concept!
Minus— Who’d a thought over payments would cancel auto pay orders? That’s just plain doesn’t make sense!
Librarian—Having an airport big enough for a bigger planes doesn’t mean that you’ll have more options in direct flight so I’m afraid. Bangor international airport can handle just about any size plane going, and even gets fairly regular emergency landings from the big ones, but we’re so far out of the way that very few airlines actually work out of it and the only direct flights from Bangor or to New York or Boston any place else you want to go you’re going to go through somewhere else to get to their hub. Does make for a long day.

Goldie— They’re not taking advantage of me at work, I was asked, very politely by the way, and I took my time and I thought it through. The three day weekends and the option to come in later on the day in between the 12 hour shifts will keep me from getting totally worn out again. And again it’s only for a couple of weeks, and I’m staying in control of it all. It’s also good for me to do the work and see exactly what’s going on with the computer systems and such on the other end So that I can teach them most effectively when new people come on board. Thanks for the update on Illimae.
Illi— I’m glad the neurosurgeon got it all or at least all she could see. Sounds like you’re feeling pretty miserable right now, wish there was something I could do to help. Still praying for you.
Granny— Praying for an easy scan, and that it’s just arthritis. Arthritis is a pain in the anatomy enough, as my knees in for me on a regular basis, but it’s better than the alternative.

Good morning ladies, gray and gloomy here but that's par for the course for Jan in Cleveland. Looking forward to the sunshine next weekend in Fort Myers. I'm a bit nervous about what's going on with my back but I had to tell myself that nothing really changed from before the scan... could be arthritis, could be mets. MO said the upper thoracic area lit up and radiologist couldn't rule out something other than arthritis, wish I had gone and gotten the report, I like to read these things for myself but I can get it Monday. Hoping I'll know before I leave for FL so I don't have it hanging over my head and no better therapy for my than my bff Molly. DH and I are in a once a month bowling league and we're doing that tonight. It's really a fun group, nobody takes it very serious so it's ok to suck at bowling and still be on the league. They provide pizza and a band afterwards, I always pull the cheese and topping off and throw the crust away, I wonder how many carbs that ends u being?
NM, boy this electrical stuff has been quite a process to get fixed hasn't it? Hope the new garage door people turn out to be more reliable. !2 hour shifts certainly are long as we get older aren't they? I worked them for years when I was a nurse and even occasionally as a hairdresser but no way could I do that now, esp not 2 or 3 in a row like I did back then. Molly is a nurse and worked 12's up until she retired in Dec and it had gotten really hard on her. She and her DH just bought a little trailer or "can" as she calls it in Fort Myers so I'll have a place to get away every winter. Her 2 sisters live in the same park so I think she'll really enjoy it there. And she still has that house with the big pond in the country here in Ohio that you've all seen pictures of before where she'll spend the summers. I can tell you're pecking away without a keyboard since you've renamed me granny! And Cammi's dog pushing the shingle, gotta love auto correct! I can relate to the knee arthur... 1 replace and the other needs it but it hasta wait till I'm 65.
Lori, well you didn't get rich but sounds like you almost got a free trip so that's not so bad. I would so LOVE to meet when you come to Michigan, I will even come closer to you if it makes it easier. I work Wednesdays and Thursdays but am available any other day. What are the dates you'll be there?
Cami, I totally agree with Lori and you need to get your skinny ass to the oncologist! 20 pounds is a lot of weight to lose for no reason. Love the story about you calling the customer crazy and getting the job anyway, I suspect you just crack people up on the phone all the time.
Jazz, When we moved fro our house to our condo it happened really fast and I took my CD's stand and all to the curb, always regretted it but even my computer doesn't have a CD player now, I'm sure they'd just be in the basement collecting dust but I do miss them. Red sky was a beauty, you could frame that pic for sure.
Sandy, Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a fabulous dinner and a good night with your family. Nice to find a new restaurant that you like, my DH and I found one last week and I can't wait to go back.
Librarian, yay to your break from chemo and oncologist! I hope your flights go without a hitch and you have just the best time, you deserve it! How long will you be gone and who are you visiting, you probably already said but I either missed it or forgot it.
Hi Keywest, got engaged there, one of my favorite places.
Illmae, in your pocket and praying you are getting rest and feeling better soon.
Hi to everyone I missed, hope you all have a good Saturday!

I love the weekends!!!

Hi friends- really busy, but good week. Some nice surprises yesterday. First of all, the blinds I ordered on Monday with the 25 day lead time from Lowes arrived late yesterday as I got home from yoga class. That was way fast, five days! Now I should be getting a call from Lowe's to schedule the final installation. Project ahead of schedule, yay!
Second nice surprise was during a get together with friends last night, one of my colleagues also works in the healthcare industry was telling me about her work and when the time came to ask me what I was doing, she said they have some projects that can use my help on a contract basis. The good part of it is that I can work from home, which is my dream arrangement. It would allow me to cut out a lot of things and take better care of myself and my home. Updating my resume today and sending it over to my friend and she is sending it to her manager. They need someone right away and I am almost done with my catch up work around home and feel more ready to get back in the game. Wish me luck!
NM- I have done the same when a company cancels on me twice, time for someone else. I replaced my tree company a couple years ago as a result. Finding good contractors is not always easy, do you have any other trusted contractors you can go to for referrals? The reason I ask is that I have had a couple trusted contractors since I moved in here almost 16 years ago, whom lead me to so many other good people who show up, do a good job, are reasonable with costs, etc. It can be a painter, plumber, general contractor, anyone you have used that you trust. Ask them who they use, because contractors will always give you good people they use and they are the most discriminating of all. I had a general contractor who gave me some great people initially, whom did good work (and some are now retired and replacing a few through time). My painter who came from my general contractor lead me to more good people for my flooring project and plumbing needs. I find they tend to have more accountability to show up and do good work. I have used my new plumber now 3X since 2017 and really like him, he just gave me the name of the guy who did his stone counter tops which I plan to replace next. I have had a couple not as great people along the way too, so much is trial and error. I wish you the best getting the right people to fix things for you friend. Hi to Sadie too!
JCS- sounds like you are going to enjoy this break you are on and glad you have your trip planned to Houston. I hope you enjoy some good reading. I am trying to get back to regular reading after it just falling away the past few years. I just finished a book last weekend and started my new one I had also shared for Teka on the Dali Lama's Cat. It is written from the cat's viewpoint, which I love. Enjoy all the good things life has to offer.
Goldie- you have some fun coming up too with your trip. Is your DD still back in MI or did she go back to the VI? If the later, are they feeling anything from the PR earthquakes? I have been following those closely as they are occurring not far from Ponce, where I lived for awhile years ago working on a project. I hope she is doing well and your visit goes well to the midwest. So glad your labs were moving in the right direction.
Cami- yes, you can play your CDs on your laptop IF you have a CD player. I know the newer laptops don't have them, my lap top is about five years old now (due for a new one), and they were still a standard feature then, but now they are less common with thumb drives and other media for back up. They still have boom boxes too with CDs, I have one with both cassette and CD player I use when I am outside or working in the garage. They have small ones that are really inexpensive now. Since I know you like to on line shop, here ya go!

I decided while I was at a jewelry store getting some watch batteries replaced in some other watches, I needed to buy myself something to commemorate the final payoff process being done and this house being mine all mine! So I found a really nice good watch as a gift to myself, which was not too expensive and is really unique. I remember buying myself a watch when I got a promotion to executive role years ago (still have it too). I hope this one lasts for a long time and is a nice reminder of my accomplishment, along with living here and not having to pay a mortgage each month.
Have a good day friends!

Hi friends, checking in. Special thanks to those who’ve added updates, just didn’t have it in me to reply to multiple threads. Feeling much more human today, the brain part seems ok actually. Now it’s the extreme horseness and difficulties swallowing that are my biggest problem, I know it takes time but it’s very frustrating. Enjoying food and communicating how much I enjoyed it is a pretty big deal for me and my current state makes me impatient and sad. But, I’m walking and am well mentally, might even get out tomorrow and go get smoothie stuff. Plus I’ve got to be down a few lbs at least. It’s mean a lot knowing you’re all in my pocket and thinking of me.
Looking forward to many more adventures

Oh I'm still up.
I didn't even realize what a painful surgery this was going to be for Illi and I feel so bad for her. It's bad enough to just have this but then with all the pain , I'm so sorry My prayers are still and will continue to be sent to you.
Gee Sandy we like food too u know, I like to hear the whole menu. Now it sounds like a Bohemian restaurant which, has really good food when u know what to order. There was one in Villa Park a few yrs. back which was pretty good and when it closed there has been nothing else around like that.. I remember the rye bread and butter was great just eating that. It's funny cuz that restaurant was always crowded anytime and any day, but noone has tried to do this again.
OMG it's morning and I fell asleep writing this.
Mary I think there are different kinds of arthritis, did she tell u what u had, poop in Kim and explain the different kinds. And what is the most painful.
Oh I'm so mixed up, Bob my number 1 man on the job is in the hospital cuz of BP, which he know NOTHING about, so I did tell him this is one thing I know about so I'm making it up to me to be his outside medic. but more is happening too. So they are running tests. This is the first time he's been in a hospital, he's in his mid 50's, I can't even imagine that. I guess that's why I was up so late I was worried about him. Then the Xanax had me crashed. I don't even know if I'm repeating myself.
Oh Lori I did have some garlic bread yesterday, but that's all, I just don't feel like eating and most things have a funny taste to me, except sweets. Lori it's so strange cuz when I went I really thought I had gained about 10 lbs from last time. So I figured that would put all this to rest. But when it was 20 lost I didn't know why cu I felt like I was eating more. So the can of worms was opened again for my Dr. not for me but for her, that's not why I'm not worried at all.Let her worry. OK another hr has passed, my sister on the phone.
I'd better stop now and get caught up.

Ill- thank you for checking in here with us to let us know how you are doing. I am glad to hear things are progressing, and totally understand the frustration with things not happening fast enough. It sounds like you are able to move and possibly getting more nourishment. I am so glad to hear from you friend. Staying your pocket for the time being as you continue to recover.

Mary aka "granny", how frustating to not get a good reading and now yet another scan. Of course praying it's just arthritis. With this happening right before a trip that you are really looking forward to, if it were me, I wouldn't want to know results until I got back. Try and just concentrate on your trip to FL. I used to bowl for many years, back in the day. Michigan is March 4-12.
NM, you are sure having a time of it with the garage. As for the cig buts, maybe you could put a can out there and ask them to deposit them in the can. The bowling league sounds fun. Funny typos, took me a minute to figure out granny, and then cami seeing her "dog"
Jazzy, all things moving in the right direction for you. Blinds early, new job op on the forefront and a self gift for paying off the house! DD is in the VI, no mention of the earthquakes and she will be back in MI in Sept and I will go then as well. I have a similar player like the link you posted. CD/radio. The full link didn't work, but I was able to figure it out. https://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.E299738.html?
BabyGirl, continued prayers for you girl, that is a lot to go through. Hoping your throat heals quickly and you can get to some good food and cocktails! How did things end up for your Laughlin trip?
Cami, wishing all the best to cousin Bob, you are a good dog....I mean doc, lol. My husband hadn't been in a hospital for anything until he was in his 50's and that was just for carpul tunnel surgery, other than for tests, that is the only time. Never broke anything, never had any other surgeries. You say your eating hasn't changed but all you had was a piece of bread all day...I call that a HUGE change girlfriend.
Cleaned my upright freezer yesterday, wish we would have gotten one that did not need defrosting. But it give me the chance to organize things in there, as after awhile you just throw things in there! You all remember my "struggling" neighbor, well a month or so ago I loaned her one of our coolers as she didn't have a fridge. Well DH wanted it back to use to go to Laughlin, we have 4 or 5 other ones, but he says "I want that one". So I had to retrieve it from her. He loads it up with all kinds of drinks and it's quite heavy. We get to Laughlin, all the handicap spots are taken so we have to park a ways away. Well he has to carry this heavy cooler, and he's huffin and a puffin. Do I feel sorry for him....nope. Why? Cuz he didn't want her to have that cooler and wait for it....we have one about the same size that has a handle and wheels on it!

I'm home! Surgery went well and my head seems quite good, unfortunately, there's still this confusion going on with my esophagus and vocal cords. I can take small sips if tilting to the left and most of the liquid goes down right but some gets stuck causing me to choke and cough, then air comes up too. It's beyond irritating and I'm still horse as hell, everything sounds like a screaming whisper until I lose my breathe halfway through my sentence. Anyway, I'm happy to be home. Thanks for all the good vibes 😁
Goldie, I submitted the doctors note for the trip, nothing yet but I suspect they’ll do the write thing and issue a refund.
-
Ill- so good to hear you are home from the hospital. Better rest to be had and hoping the problems with swallowing improve. I pray every day will help you to feel a bit more back to normal.

Good Afternoon ladies,
Jeez these mornings are flying by.
Illi it's so nice to read you, Wow this throat thing sounds awful, isn't that from the anesthesia stuff. IDK I'm just guessing. Hope it leaves u soon and u can get back to eating and of course drinking and all ur adventures.
Jazzy ur really getting things done and on top of it finding work and not leaving ur house to find it. U really do a lot in a short period of time, ur good Jazzy really good, well I think so..
Lori hahaha about the cooler, why are men so stubborn about silly things. But if u had one with wheels at home I don't get it. And of course the cat on the ice is to funny.
Jazzy like the grammy list, but I missed it, IDK why. well I did have some company yesterday so I gues my mind needs constant attention.
Bob is still in the hospital, this doesn't sound good to me cuz they kick u out as soon as possible. More tests. Oy Vey.

Hi girls, hope you're all having a nice evening.
Ill, so good to hear that you are home, so sorry about your throat, I know how much I hate having a regular little sore throat so I can only imagine what yours must feel like, hope it's getting better all the time and your esophagus and vocal chords soon remember their rolls.
Lori, I climb the walls with the waiting and not knowing, just want the facts so I know what I'm dealing with but we are all different. Had my MRI today should have the answers tomorrow. I picked up the bone scan report and it pretty much says I have arthritis everywhere, Thoracic spine needs to be ruled out for mets so fingers crossed. The MRI included my head so I had this thing across my face and I'm super claustrophobic so it took a lot of mind over matter for me. Can't wait to get together in March! Love the cat and fish...
Cami, I should know more about the arthritis tomorrow, and I m having a dexiscan next month so we'll get it figured out then.
Jazz, Hope the new job lead works our, it sounds perfect, working from home! Best of luck! So nice when you have a day where everything just seems to go right.
Sandy, sounds like your birthday was really nice.
NM,hopefully by thee next time we hear from you garage door will be fixed and electrical all better too.
Well, wish me luck, I'll jump on for sure tomorrow and update you all on results.... fingers crossed!
-
BabyGirl, like everyone else, I hope your throught heals quickly. You say you submitted doctors note and was hoping for a refund, but I thought you won the trip?
Cami, I think DH just wanted me to get the cooler back, I dunno. Hopefully they get things figured out with Bob.
Mary, praying for good results today!
-
Hi everyone, well my MO called me today and the MRI showed I do have mets in my back. A small area in the top of the thoracic spine which is right where I was feeling the discomfort. So I'm still going to FL on Thursday and then the following Friday they will do a biopsy and from there a CT scan to rule out any organ involvement. So that's that, I'll deal with it as it comes. DH on the road today with a distributor, on his way to another account and just called to ask if I'd heard anything and I told him the MO won't be calling me till the end of the day. I'd like to wait till he's home, he's in Indiana right now and has a long drive yet. Guess I'll tell my son and DIL when I get back, I'd rather do it in person and my brothers will have to wait till after that. I know I have plenty of time and there are lots of treatments but I'm just working on digesting it now. My goal now is to out live my MIL!!!!! That's just meant as a joke! but not really, I told my husband years ago that if she outlives me I'll really be pissed! She's 91 and can think only of the negative for those of you that don't remember me talking about her, if you say it's a beautiful day her answer would be..but it's gonna rain tomorrow. My SIL used to say she'd live forever because her 2 dead husbands in heaven are lobbying against her coming, now that my SIL is there with them she may just live forever! Anyway, enough of my rambling, I know I was gone for quite a long time but thanks for being her for me now...love you girls!!

Afternoon ladies,
Genny like many we drop off for a while but coming back here is the easiest thing to do. Of course everyone here will help u in any way we can. I'm so sorry about the results of this test But I sure give u credit for waiting to tll until u can tell them in person, the best way, I think.Prayers for u genny there are so many things that can be done now and that will be prayed for. <<<HUGS>>>
Lori I'm waiting for you to go to MI, I think it will be so good for you. Hoping the weather is decent at least, but u know how this weather is, everyday is a surprise. Ur DH is a hoot. Now when u go to MI will u see ur son, is he still there. U don't really mention him much.So tell us who u will be with.
Am I missing posts or something, it seems like again it's quiet and I don't get it.
Illi how are u doing??? Usually every 24 hrs there's an improvement and I pray it's going that way for you.
Bob. is still in the hospital, I don't know what's going on, I really don't think he knows either. Altho u all know I'm not a medically knowledged person, my specialties are mental illness and B/P and throw in UTI's with some limits. So u gals know I ask questions that are overboard about these subjects but I don't blame them cuz all they know is my knowledge of my job, which is close to nil. I don't like how long he's been in there, for sure.

Goldie, the trip was a complimentary charter but fine print was $400 if cancelled. Seemed low risk at the time since I had every intention of going.
Cami, doing ok, head feels fine but the airway not completely closing when trying to drink is a persistent problem, they say it takes time but it’s so slow and I am not getting nutrients I need. Been drinking about 1 cup of food and 1 cup of water per day, choking it down sip by sip. The right side of my throat is weaker, so I must turn left to swallow.
It sucks.

Hi friends- hope the week is going well for everyone. I am a girl on the go again this week and heard today I am getting an interview for the work I put in for last week next Monday! Whoot!
Made my apt for the blinds installation for next Monday so now that needs to change. Working to find the right color wood filler product for my windows as I am going to take down the brackets down and repair the holes in the wood windows before the new blinds get installed. I have used wood repair products before but there are like a thousand of them and was back at Lowes today trying to find the right product and color. Today I found it at the other Lowes but the color I needed was out. But he checked and other stores have it, so I will go to a different store and then get this done over the weekend. And now I am getting some new paints to touch up areas in the rooms that need it. I really like hardware and home improvement stores and do see myself working at one some day in the future, lol. My local Ace hardware store seems to have all 65 and over employees that work part time and think I can fit in nicely there some day.....
Genny- I am sorry to hear about the bone mets, and saying prayers for no organ involvement sister. I was looking back at your footnotes and know this also means a progression for you. Hugs sister. And I know I have shared this before here, but the Prolia shots some of us take her for bone health (drug name is denusaub) are also used for bone mets. I think others here will be able to tell you more about what types of things they are taking for bone mets too. Maybe some threads here to talk to some of the ladies on what helped them. Thank god for BCO and all the the good info here.......
Your comments about your MIL are not unlike a few people in my family. I personally feel that people with negative energy (also mean people) tend to last longer than the rest. Maybe they have yet to learn what they need to in this life time? I have to limit my time around the negative nellies of life myself. Not you ladies though, you are my ray of sunshine.....
Cami- I cannot remember who Bob is but I am sorry he is in house and they are trying to figure things out for him. So many test to rule out things, until they get to the bottom of this. Just know he is in the right place and hope they get thing figured out soon. Your cat pics still crack me up.
Ill- hope you are continuing to feel better and the swallowing has improved?
Goldie- I just saw there was a pretty big earthquake in the Carribean (over towards Cuba) today and thinking about your DD in the VI. I hope she is okay and no damage on her island. It sounds like the western Carribean and along the coast of Central America is where they are most worried (tsunamis).
Okay friends, will be back again soon and continue on my friends!
-
Illimae - SO great to see your post about recovering but sorry about the swallowing. Slowly is annoying to say the least.
If these drinking gals don't mind, I'll post to you here instead of the Stage IV thread.
-
Mary, so sorry about the T-spine mets. Putting you in my Mi Sheberach list at temple this Fri. (prayer for healing), specifically that there's no organ involvement and that targeted radiation can nip it in the bud. What Jazzy mentioned--denosumab is the name of the shot--comes in two strengths & frequencies: Prolia, given semiannually for prevention/treatment of osteopenia/osteoporosis; and Xgeva, a bit stronger & given several times a year for bone mets, to prevent progression by strengthening the surrounding bone matrix.
Ilona, glad to hear you're home from your ordeal--you, too, are on my prayer list. And glad your docs believe they got it all! Intubation is one of those "gifts that keeps on giving"--monster laryngitis, swallowing difficulties, etc. It will get better--and when it does, have a big outrageous tropical "umbrella" drink for us!
Lori, please give me a heads-up if you plan to be in this area to visit Cami. I live only about 45 min. NE of her. Cami, I have a fridge full of goodies I'm not supposed to eat (lots of candy--both regular and, uh, "enhanced"), so I wish I could send 'em through the ether to you to pique your appetite.
Jazzy, love the Grammy "destination/transportation" meme. (It left out "New Orleans: Walking;" "London: Down To;" "Beaufort Sea: Northwest Passage;" "Up, Up & Away: My Beautiful Balloon;" "Marrakech: Express;" "The Desert: on a Horse With No Name;" "Annandale: The Wolverine;" "Harlem: 'A' Train.")*. I seem to recall a similar one about "acceptable blues beverages."
*Bonus points if you can name the artists. The last one is super-easy, Jazzy (I'd be shocked if you missed it).
We dodged a major weather bullet this past weekend: the snowstorm that hit the north & west 'burbs missed the north lakefront completely. A few slick spots from freezing mist that were gone by the time rush hour got under way. Sunday Bob got his every-3-months haircut down on the Mag Mile, and we walked to Gibson's/Hugo's Frog Bar for dinner. My DOTD was a flute of Veuve Clicquot, which I nursed through my entire meal (we shared the Stone Crab Claw That Ate Miami as an app, I had miso-glazed sea bass and Bob a bone-in ribeye for our entrees. I got two more meals out of the leftover steak & sides). Tonight, to celebrate Bob's finishing his Epic training & certification, we'll have either Graham Beck Brut Rosé (S. Africa) or Mumm Napa Brut Reserve--whichever I can pop open first.
Speaking of temple, I went last Fri. night to do my birthday "aliyah" (honor), which turned out to be getting to sing the Torah blessings before & after. And then the cantor & rabbi led the congregation in singing "Happy Birthday" in Hebrew...with hand gestures. (No, not the ones you're thinking of, Cami). But it came at a price: I had to rejoin the choir. Rehearsal was tonight: I am one of three women (the other two are altos), and there are three men (all baritones). Best we can do is two-part harmony (though the music director is mulling over letting me throw in a soprano harmony or descant here & there). We are performing the closing hymn this Fri. at a special music service led by a visiting concert cantor.
Still reeling over the death of Kobe Bryant and his lovely and talented daughter.

Cami, my son is in NC. I will see both of my kids in September. I hope they can get Bob straightend out. What has Joey been up to?
BG, I sure hope they don't charge you that $400. That sure is horrible about your throat, I hope it resolves soon. Can you get some kind of energy drink to get some protien in you?
Jazzy on the go. I'm sure the interview will go fine and you will get the job. LOL at working at the Ace Hardware. No mention of a hurricane from my DD.
Waving hi to MinusTwo.
Sandy, not likely I'll get over that way, but then again, you never know!
Mary, I get the Xgeva shot monthly.
NM, you must be having a time of it!
I don't want anyone to think I'm being uncaring, Mary and I spoke on the phone yesterday.
Ingredients
2 shots of gin
Juice from one whole lime
Soda water
Simple syrup
Lavender
Directions
Infuse 1 shot of gin with 1 Tbsp. of cooking lavender for two to three hours. Strain the lavender from the infusion and mix with one non-infused shot of gin. Add lime juice, a splash of simple syrup, and a splash of soda water. Before putting drink in the class, coat rim with simple syrup and dip in pile of lavender. Stir with closest available cat toy and enjoy!

Good morning ladies, I have to work today so I'm gonna keep this short. Thank you so much for your warm wishes, Knowing for me is better than the wondering. Hopefully it's contained to my spine, my gut says it is since I just had CBC and CMP and all were fine. Told my DH last night when he was about a half hour from home, he called to ask if I had heard so I told him, plus it gave him a little time to digest it. I was surprised to find out that he did not know it wasn't "curable". I guess we all gain so much knowledge about this that we assume that others know what it means. Anyway, I feel much better today and suspect I'll get through the day without Xanax. I called the MO yesterday and told her mine were 5 years old so I got a brand new bottle of 30... Well 29 now. Lori thanks for being there when I got the news, you were the first one I called. And Cami, thanks for welcoming me back to the group again... Got to run, ladies hairdos are calling! Love you all, tomorrow sunny skies and warm temperatures! Yay!
