Goldie, if this is what made you ill after your camping trip, what took so long? I am happy to hear you’ve been feeling better though.

Librarian, yay for good news 🎉

Illimae, they only treated me for UTI. No cultures were ever sent in until 2 weeks ago and my Primary was out of town the later part of last week. I was feeling pretty good, but thought I better take the dang things just to be sure!

Ok Goldie, maybe I missed some posts, I guess the UTI was the cause of your fevers. Anyway, glad you’re feeling good.

Mornin' Ladies., can't sleep, had to work most of the day and all day today...I did that for yrs but now it seems like a load for me. My pain is ebbing up but I know it's cuz I stay in the same position for the phone. So can't wait til Friday comes. Oh well.

Lori u have to take every one of those pills no matter how u feel, but u know that. I just have to nag. And I think the UTI's started all of this wacky crap. Once u really start getting them thy hang on underlying waiting to come back, even tho u actually don't have one. That germ just doesn't leave ur body like thy say. And it seems to come out in a fever So keep on taking pills and after use any product that's good for UTI's naturally, pure cranberry and I know there is more. I always talk about myself but I only do it cuz I went thu it for over 1 yr. I'm not complaining I just know what it was like. And it was always changing my anti-b's, who knows what one actually worked. Now my sister is going thru that for quite a while. When I was younger and got them every so often I think they used to give u sulpher and worked like a charm, but I have no idea what they give u now, but it never seems like the first few never work. I'm just so upset ur still playing ROUND WITH THIS, it has to stop soon now. <<<HUGS>>> I'm sorry I'm blabbering to u Lori, I just get so frustrated.

    JC things sound pretty good.

Illi see u pooped in and Sandy too. But everyone is so quiet, except me.

I'm aggravated too, Les lost her temper and it came on me, cuz I don' cry like like they do when she gets mad, but I feel like slapping her across her face. Believe me I don't bother them at all, I even eat alone never watch TV with them I really just leave everyone alone even when I don't feel well, Oh I'm no angel I didn't mean that but , they don't know I live here even someone comes to visit I stay to myself. I give then all my SSI and my pension but I keep the money I earn from Dan, they get quite a bit and to yell at me stinks and I don't care what her reasoning is. I know it's hard living with ur kids, that's why I stay out of the way. For the most part it really is OK but every so often sparks fly Sorry I'm still upset that's why I can't sleep tonite. Oh well u gals can so that;'s good.

Met with the MO this morning. He is very pleased with the pathology report. The SBRT will be done to what was a tumor in my lung. We discussed the NED process. I will do chemo for four months, then another PET scan. If there is still nothing there, he thinks I should do regular radiation to the breast. This treatment is inline with treatment of a curative intent. After that, it will be time to think about stopping chemo. A lot to think about. I did find a retrospective study out of MD Anderson speaking to overall survival rates and NED. Even triple negative MBC patients had better OS if they are successful in reaching NED. It is definitely a goal for both myself and the MO. I asked him about the nurse navigator that met with my DH at the hospital. The MO said I knew more than she did about cancer and would not benefit from her advice. LOL. I truly feel the MO and I are on the same path to rid by body of cancer. Thanks Camillegal for the dancing baby! You find the cutest gifs. Tomorrow I meet with the RO. Then Friday my DH and I are going to do something FUN

Illimae, in the beginning (2 months ago) I was diagnosed with the UTI, but I also think I had E Coli then too, they just never tested me for it until a couple weeks ago. But I only got the results like on Saturday.

Cami, that is the cutest baby happy dance ever! She doesn't even look like she has been walking long, let alone busting a move like that! I think I contracted both at the same time. The UTI is gone and I think the E Coli is gone as well, but taking the anti b just to make sure. I'm sorry Leslie went off on you. Care to share why? I hope things have smoothed over by now. I can only imagine that you wish you didn't need to live with one of your children, but glad that they are willing to have you. But I'm sure it helps financially with them as well.

JCS, great reports and as well you should celebrate. Any idea what you and hubby are going to do?

Jazzy, so happy for you! Stealing Cami's baby...LOL

    Mornin' ladies

nothings working for me this morning, that was a happy cat for Jazzy. It's a good feeling. Sometimes I'm so goofy, I remember when my Dr. was talking to me about NED for a while I really thought it was Ned and someone I had to meet by the name Ned. Like now when u gals use all these letters most of the time I don't know what it is, I just don't listen to drs. Of course I still member when my kids were told to say their goodbys to me <a couple of times> and I turned out OK they used the word fluke which I thought was used for other words and no it was fluke, see why it's so confusing.See again about me, sorry.

It's been uiet in here, I hope everyone is OK.

JC ur Drs. sound optomistic about ur procedures, that's always good. Don't u feel better each day. When my DD got rads I member they had to be zeroed in cuz it was close to her heart. ick and now they have different kinds for different reasons. Amazing.

Katie Marty's cousin who come around a lot <Ilike her> LOL has 2 lumps one on her sholder <it's really hard> and the other on the side of her breast which is perfectly round and moves a little. She wanted me to feel them but I know nothing well she is going to the Dr. of course now I'm worried about her. WTF this stuff never stops.

Well my niee is taki g me to some Dr. stuff tomorrow, how I hate this stuff, it never ends, but I shouldn't complain it only takes like 5 mins to gwt to this one and the other about 3 minutes.and I'll start out in the morning so it's good, then I collapse after, it's close to home, I'm lucky. Lori I always think about u when I'm going.

I worked all day and nite yesterday. I really forgot how hard it is. It sounds easy but my body just has a hard time. It's almost tearworthy, I'm just glad it's over today.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! Not going in to work until later today to offset working long days yesterday and the day before, so have time for a second leisurely cup of coffee and get ketchuped here.Sadie was not too happy with me whenI got home last night, but she forgave me after a half hour of tummy rubs and playing tuggies. I suppose the extra treats didn't hurt any!

Goldie--I haven't heard a lot about the old office, except that a few more people have left for other jobs, this time a couple of office staff as well as a couple of nurses. I do know that the office isn't keeping the same nurse with each nursing home like before. I swear I see a different nurse in the building every week. It's sad to see the consistency going away. I love that Be Awesome pic!

Jazzy--ahh, kittehs and puppehs, what fun!

    Morning, Teka!

Cammy Cat--Since starting the new job I haven't dreaded Mondays at all! I even look forward to them most of the time! The weather alerts last weekend here were pretty busy, too.I can't imagine what it must be like where you are! If I can get a decent night's sleep I can deal with heat and humidity during the day, so the bedroom AC is a necessity. I'm glad I don't need it a lot of the time here.

Super--I remember starting the school year and how hot the classrooms were when I was growing up. Very few schools in Maine had AC until a few years ago, heating was always more of an issue than cooling. I hope your room isn't too horrifically hot.I tried a hard root beer once, didn't really care for the taste, but could see how it could have been very refreshing. You never made ice cream? When I was growing up we had what is now an old-fashioned, hand cranked ice cream maker. To eat the ice cream you had to take your turn cranking!Seems like it took hours for the ice cream to freeze, but probably more like an hour or so. Vanilla, strawberry, grapenut, peach, and once in a very great while, chocolate. So yummy! Now I've got a little electric ice cream maker, put the bowl in the freezer instead of using ice and rock salt, makes a quart or so.

Jazzy--that's one version of "no news is good news"!

Misty--Wow, you really had a house full!Taking care of the 2 year old will be fun.

Goldie--E coli is a bugger. It comes in hundreds of versions, with different versions being resistant and susceptible to different Anti b's.The E coli in people who are or have been on chemo can get even stronger thanks to exposure to those drugs. The only way to really answer the question is if there had been tests done before each of the anti b's was started--specifically a culture and sensitivity-- to determine what anti b's will work on the specific strain that is being bad. The way that you have been having symptoms come and go makes me think that the E coli is partially susceptible to the anti b's you've taken so far, so the infection got knocked down but not out. When the anti b's got done, the infection flared up again. Now that they know it's E coli, they should have chosen a different anti b that is more likely to knock it out rather than just down. Hopefully, they've done a culture and sensitivity test so they will KNOW what anti b to use.

    Illi--HOORAY for stable!Happy Dance!

Janky--sorry to hear the blood counts are still problematic. I can see where it would be cranky making! Enjoy the reunion, birthday, and other celebrations.Sounds like a fun time!

    Morning, Minus!

Chi--that granita recipe sounds really, really good!Let us know how it turns out?

Misty--I got through the long days pretty well.It helped being able to sleep in this ayem!

Cammy Cat--that is one wild kitteh!Nice DOTD! Blackcurrent Liqueuer sounds wonderful. There is nothing wrong with your DOTDs, they are always interesting!

Librarian--"no invasive carcinoma found" is GREAT!!!I hope you can get the same result with the lung tumor. Enjoy the celebrating!

Cammy Cat--I'm sorry you and your family are having a hard time. I hope it's something that will blow over soon. Your family has been through so much recently.

Librarian--sounds like you are well on your way to NED!Glad you and the MO are on the same page.

    Jazzy--Lovely!!

    Welcome, Di2012!

    HOORAY for Jazzy!!!!

I should try some celebratory potion tonight because my Invisalign aligner is now officially a temporary retainer. But Bob's pal since high school is in from CO with his wife, and wants to see Millennium Park--there's a free symphony concert (Dvorak's #7); and with a late lunch at the Gage and then dinner at the Signature Room (95th fl. of the ex-Hancock), there will be alcohol. So still sticking with coffee, water & seltzer today.

    Congrats, Jazzy!

Mornin' ladies,'Oh I have to stop this crazy sleep pattern I'm in. I took a shower last nite and pretty much fell sound asleep, now I'm awake.

Kim I really never know what day it is, I have to look it up. Since Joey's home theyre all the same to me and the only day I barely work is Sunday, I just do some catch up that''s all.

Welcome Di, except I thought u've been here before but if not just jump in whenever u feel like sharing anything u want.

Wow Lori Kim really did some splainin' to u, tell the Drs.we've always known Kim is on top of everything from medical to alcohol so use her wisdom to help u makes so much sense, even to me. Copy it and read it to them. Kim that's why I see u as a teacher when u explain things honestly it always is clearly said. U have a gift, well more than one.

U know for the most part whenever u gals talk about ur Drs. visits u all completely understand everything. I envy that see this is my thought process I wrote to my dr. on the computer thing cu I forget what I want to say when I'm there and I told her I finally thought of who she looked like Anne Hathaway, I don't get very medical about anything Sometimes I do forget what I write her, but she doesn't then I wonder what she's talking about and so on and so on.

See how I can be boring any time of night or day it's my gift and I bestow it on all of you.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day!Only a half day for me, after the 2 long days I've got most of my 40 ours in for the week. Good thing, cuz this Loungettes is TIRED this ayem! But that's ok, I'll live. Sadie had a grand time at the nursing home yesterday, getting lots and lots of petting and treats and attention. Some of the residents just lit up when they saw her and were grinning from ear to ear while they were petting her and talking to her. And Sadie just lapped up all the attention like she never gets any! She seems to have an instinct for who wants to spend time with her, she'll sit right down next to them and look at them and nose nudge them to get them started petting her.Residents who are not so interested she just walks up to, wags her tail a time or two, and then moves on.Needless to say, there was lots and lots of napping going on last evening!

Chi--Congrats on the Invisalign "graduation"! Dinner on the 95th floor sounds like a special time with a wonderful view!

Cammy Cat--I'll let you in on a secret, I keep a calendar over my computer at home, and cross off each day so I can tell what day/date it is! Otherwise I have trouble keeping track! If you are happy with the amount of medical information you have and how much you understand, then that is the right amount for you and don't worry about what the rest of us do!I'm one who wants to know all the details, and there are people all along the spectrum from where I am to "I don't want to know anything except when and where to show up." It's all good. Joey is over 6 feet?WOW! Talk about growing UP!

Illimae, in the beginning (2 months ago) I was diagnosed with the UTI, but I also think I had E Coli then too, they just never tested me for it until a couple weeks ago. But I only got the results like on Saturday.

Cami, good luck at your dr appts. today. As for short cuts with the letters, just ask. Do you know that NED is "no eveidence of disease". And I know YOU KNOW WTF! I also hope things are better with Leslie. I was thinking yesterdday how Joey would make you and him coffee and drink it together. Does that still happen? Sorry to hear about Marty's cousin. You think of me when you go to the doctor cuz yours is a short drive and mine is 8 hours? You are anything but boring....lol. That young man is going get even taller, wow, over 6'. Was he surprised? I bet he's one of the taller kids his age.

NM, doesn't sound like much has changes at the old place. Do they send nurses to your current job? I wonder because you say that you see the same nurse in the building every week. School here starts around Aug. 8, I don't know if the rooms have AC, it's just an elementary school, the older kids have to go to another city. But we have been in the mid 90's for I don't know how long, often reaching triple digits and it continues. We too had one of those old crank ice cream makers. Me and my brothers would take turns cranking. I don't remeber disliking the job, I guess it was the reward after! Never any flavors, just vanilla. I totally agree with you in the E Coli getting knocked down but not out. They did do a culture a couple of weeks ago (but not in the beginning), I don't know about the sensitivity tho. Amazing how Sadie knows that, but it doesn't surprise me!

Sandy is it a good thing that your mouthware is becoming a retainer? Hoping to see some pictures of your dinner on the 95th floor! Not pictures of your dinner, but the view....lol!

I couldn't make it to my dental appt, they canceled. Yesterday I had a spell in the late afternoon where I was feeling a little dizzy and got a temp for about an hour...weird. And I hadn't had my anti b since the morning. Feeling a little woozy this morning too, and haven't had any drugs yet. We had a container of product arrive in LA on July 10th. It finally arrived to us yesterday, however it was missing all of one product that we have over 40 customers waiting on and paid for. Now I think we are going to have to refund all of them! It's a huge mess. Will go to town today if I'm feeling up to it. And MAYBE a drive to Moab for a few days, no camping, glamping at the Hilton! Just 3 days/2 nights. It's about a 6 hour drive when we don't have the camper.

Good morning to all! It does sound like there has been some good news lately, so I hope that continues for everyone! NativeMaine, I am sure those residents loved their visit from Sadie, and I believe wholeheartedly that you are correct when you say she seemed to know instinctively which residents wanted to spend time with her. She sounds like a ham and a gentle soul all rolled into one adorable bundle of fur!

I am tired this morning also and lingering over a second cup of coffee, but it is a good tired. I had such a good day yesterday-the rare day since my diagnosis that just felt like a normal day. I met a friend for coffee at a new coffee shop, then I raced home to toss together a dessert to take to my friend's pool where I spent the afternoon, and then last night I had a wonderful dinner with my husband at my favorite local restaurant. Between the pool and dinner, I ate way too much and there was more than one drink of the day, but it just felt good to enjoy everything and everyone.

First drink of the day yesterday was a red sangria my friend made to sip poolside. Delicious.

Second drink of the day was not technically a drink. My dessert was an Ina Garten recipe consisting of fresh berries tossed with a small amount of sugar and limoncello liquor then served with a dollop of a lemon curd, yogurt, honey, and vanilla mixture. It had rave reviews on the Food Network website, and I thought how could fruit be so rave-worthy, but it truly was. And, oh those juices that formed from the fruit macerating in that limoncello. Yum! For anyone who may have a bottle of limoncello sitting in the freezer that you are wondering what to do with, here is the recipe: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/fruit-salad-with-limoncello-recipe-1944532

Third drink of the day-one glass of wine with dinner which was a dish made with zucchini, squash, eggplant, roasted garlic, roasted cherry tomatoes, and walnuts over a fresh pappardelle pasta. I figure the meal (minus the pasta) was a nutritional powerhouse, so the wine was allowed!

Getting ready to go paddle boarding with my sister later this morning. She is a teacher and a breast cancer survivor also, so we are trying to make the most of what is left of our time off before heading back to school in a few weeks.

Hoping all of you have a wonderful day and that the weekend brings some time to relax, refresh, recover from any procedures, and enjoy time with your loved ones. ( four-legged ones definitely included in that!)

DH and I went to Aiken, SC to walk in a planned garden, have lunch and hike in an urban forest. It was great fun. The weather was warm, but nice. We had lunch at a local craft brewery and enjoyed a few beer selections. Next week I am back on chemo so I want to enjoy things while I can! First pictures are the garden, hamburger for lunch then the forest. Horses are allowed there so the path was really wide.
