ORLA--don't let the pain get too bad, or it will take a whole lot of drugs to get it back under control.  People who take pain meds at the first sign of pain take less pain meds and use them for a shorter time than people who wait until it gets too bad.  I can picture you walking around sniffing people, and taking  deep sniffs when you find a smoker!  Hee Hee!

Goldie--" a dog's life" is sweet, indeed, isn't it?  Sadie may be Silly but she's not stoopid!  And she's a great back warmer in bed at night.  Yup, boil the bones after the meat is cooked and eaten.  Works for beef and ham, too.  The cooking releases what is left of the meat.   Throwing in the  skin add flavor, you just have to remember to skim off the fat after.  DorKable probably does know all the tricks by  now, you're right. 

CynCyn--Sounds like you need to find a YorkiPoo.  Smelts in cornmeal and bacon grease sounds very, very yummy, but not enough to get me out there on the ice, especially right now! 

Wahine--the cozi calendar can be imported to the Outlook calendar, if you use that.  It lets you put in repeating appointments, schedules, has room for addresses and phone numbers and other notes.  You can even put in your parent's cell phone nos (if they have them) and have reminders sent to them, too.  You can have multiple reminders, and you get to set the timing of them.  It will even integrate meal planning into the calendar if you want!  I'm not really fond of the taste of sesame, but just a little bit sounds like a nice difference.  Never thought of the egg to help thicken things up. 

Cammy--you're welcome.  And I agree that being addicted to pain meds, coffee, chocolate and wine are NOT problems at my age or for my situation!  I actually love to cook, and sometimes spend time on the weekends fixing up stuff for the week to come.  I don't have the energy to cook from scratch much when I get home from work, so things I can heat up or are all ready to toss in the wok or oven is helpful for me.  I also make big batches of stuff and freeze in 1-2 serving sizes package. 

Juliet--60 degrees is not cold!  Minus 3 this ayem and going down, with wind chill factors to the minus 20's.  I wish I could go back to bed and warm up with Sadie some more.  Good point about the orthostatic hypotension, too!

DorKable--yup having an oraface in your chest is a royal pain.  I had two for a couple months, one from March until September one year.  Packing it and changing the dressing once or twice a day.  Pain that everyone said I couldn't possibly have.  Not fun, not fun at all.  Took getting a mastectomy to get any relief.  I'm glad you can see the humor in the situation!

salt, for rimming the glass

lemon or lime wedge, for rimming

Use a lemon or lime wedge to wipe around the mouth of a collins glass.  Dip the glass in salt to lightly rim.

Fill the glass with ice.

YES, Lori, that blk dog is how my bro's dog looks. Funny it really IS a snickerdoodle (schnauzer/poodle)...as I was picturing the cookie also, as I was writing that. SAFE TRAVELS today, to Laughlin! And I sure hope the gambling gods will be generous to you and you win LOTS!!! We *may* try to go to TUnica this weekend of next. Depends on what the dr says today, as DH's knee has been very painful ever since his second PT appt where she jabbed him sooo much. Now it buckles under him at times and the pain  a killer. Actually its not the dr he sees today, but his asst, or his "kneebro". (As opposed to his PT gal who he shortens to "kneegirl".He's so silly.

I hurt my left hand from picking up my netbook from the sofa while I am sitting on the chair...been doing that several times a day/night for a year, and now my hand hurts so much I can't lift, etc with it. Was hard yesterday when I was helping my mom hang 4 more things on the walls, as 2 were extremely heavy. Guess maybe I should get a small brace, as when I am conscious of it, and don't use it, it feels better. MINOR though! (But now I am using my right hand....dumb and dumber...maybe instead I should figure out a diff place for my netbook while I am sitting here!!!). Duh.

I love those dogs--pictures--and who's taking care of reese while u'r gone, of course I thought of the candy--Dogs give so much luv all the time, I love my cat but she's pretty much lovin' me on her terms--I'm lucky she like to be around me alot tho--She follows me to the bthroom but she likes the sink for a bth so I turn the water on for her.

Juliet Joey needs an older woman so this just might work out.He even understands "lady days" and to just stay away and keep quiet. So he's good. Julie Thank you--I don't (have to get) a b/p thing--I'm not supposed to use either arm, but can I get a wrist thing? I reasked my  onc the other day and she said no arms still??? so hey usually do it on my leg. My B/P has been absolutely fine for yrs and yrs then I started on some new stuff with a new heart Dr. and now it goofy. And so is my sisters--u'd think we were twins-And I did tak Lasix but because of my D they took me off. I know about my electrolyes cuz they're usually low and I have to double up on my pot and mag and vitamins cuz they are coming right out. I think that's why I feel so weak alot and get a little dizzy too--Hopefully when and if I get my D worked on they can find out why and fix it that should take care of alot. But so far no one has found the reason. It's so violent that it literally explodes out of me with no feeling that I have to go at all.And I can be anywhere and it could last 2-3 days or a few hrs.I take a script med and it doesn't help alot and pain pills don't stop me up and it makes no difference what I eat and I think this adds to my b/p junk. I do know my body pain has nothing to do with that--so that's on it's own OK now everyone knows what a bby I am--it's after all these years I know I'm on the short list but my cancer isin total remission so it's ecerything else that's destroying me LOL Nuff about me

Dork u'r working today--do all of u who work have deadlines at this time of year? Cuz that's got to be hard. I don't know how any of u do it--u are all amazing  and the one with the extra opening (no names) is like an oddity of anatomy. U guys have had so many strange things happen especially for new foobs. It's funny cuz my BS asked me if I wanted them and they could do it in one opertion and he made it sound like no big deal he would do his thing and the PS would come in and do his thing. I just said no, but it sounded easy. And now It aounds horrible--I feel so bad for all of u.

My DS2 will be staying here ..he is moving in here about a month from now anyway...It almost like his puppy..he named him and is actually paying me back for him...we are going in half each...He always wanted a dog and I was never willing to get him one when he was young..he didnt live with me tho so the reasoning was that I didnt want to have to take care of it the majority of the time...Now is different because I actually wanted one for companionship.

Oh Cyn thats purrfect that your DS will take care of Reese! Such a cutie-patootie, and such a young babyfur (instead of furbaby, as its such a young baby). Sooo cute, thanks for the pic!

Cami, well *usually* the recon/implants is NOT so bad....I had the TE's (tissue expanders) put in during the bilat mast...and yeah the recovery was quite rough...for 4-5 wks or so. BUT my "fills" weren't bad, and my exch surgery to put the implants in was easy-peasy, no drains, not much pain. But when the girls have problems and have to have it re-done, etc, then they really do have a lot of pain. I think I was lucky in that sense. And with all the other problems you have been having, I think you are smart to just leave things as they are. You don't need any more problems! DORKIE is always busy at the end of month, becuz of her bizzness...mortgages. Not sure if any of the other galz are busier at this time of year or not.

Well, you all said for me to get MY appts called in, and when I was changing my skin dr appt in April, I mentioned a spot on my face I was concerned about (mainly cuz I knew it was a pre-cancer thing and I aggravated it by doing the microdermabrasion!, and it got bigger). OF COURSE I use a magnifying mirror, so EVERYTHING looks bigger, then I have trouble seeing it with a naked eye. LOL. Anyway, to make a long story even longer (lol), they had an opening, so I had to shower,dress, etc in 15 min! But he did freeze off 2 areas on my face (they WERE pre-cancer) and cut off a couple of things I didn't like. SO got that taken care of! But they called and my dad has another cancer (from biopsy this wk), so I have to take him in for the surgery right before our trip. I keep putting off seeing the eye dr, so maybe I will call today.

Lori, Guess you are on your way to Laughlin! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!! I think depending on what DH's "knee-bro" says today, will determine if/when we go to Tunica.

Ok.....got to get to some house cleaning...yucko. Cami, ya think your DD would come here and do MY house too??? Nah, I didn't think so either. Well maybe Dorkie's sis will come over??? Nah, didn't think she would want to either. Ok, ok, ok...guess its up to me...So later gaters!!!

Orla..Im going back to Austin to visit with my g/f..then in March she comes here and then after my trip with DD to Europe she is coming for the rest of the summer...so like a month and a half...then we will have to figure something out..foah shoah.

Orange it's much to early for u to lift anything up , well maybe a glass as soon as u'r not taking pain meds.Seriously don't try to do anything, sometimes the pain pills in making u feel better u think u can do something--Oh Contrare--till u totally or almost stop the meds u just take it easy and rest u'r new foobs along with the body that is attached and eat lots of soup-well it won't hurt. The most u can do is the computer not alot tho cuz u'r moving u'r arms doing that. I'm just glad u'r feelin better really.

Cami - dat is NOT a funny story about you falling down…but at the same time I can picture you and honestly…mese hates meself…but I am laughing my ass off.  I’m bad I kno…but I can’t hailp it.  See…mese done it several times too…and I always make a joke of it.  I tail DH…go git the dolly thingy….it’s more than a dolly, more room, but same ‘wheeled’ principle.  Den he gits MAD AT ME.  HUH???  I kno…it’s only cuz I skerd him…but mese OK…but do FEEL da aches da next day fo sho!!  Seriously tho…the scan showed good??  Ya kno…I am always amazed that my MUGA shows real good after almost 2 years on Herceptin, and the 2 times I had to see da Cardio doc…he amazed too.  Cuz I smoke like a chimney and dwink alcomahal like kool-aid.  But my onco and my cardio sez…’do what makes you happy’ cuz dey kno…my bad habits won’t change a gall darn thing.  I like chocolate…but rarely eat it.  I recently bought dark choc sumpin or other minis.  My DH luvs dem…and actually…I have eaten a few.  Dey say Dark Choc OK…and des are only minis.  So…1 a day and I’m all goot right??  I am fershamed CAMI…but I’m still laughing at your description of you falling…mese tinks we shud write a book…it wud b HILARIOUS!!  prolly spelt dat wrong too…OK, so’s we get a good editor…prolem bixed!!  I also read what NM sed….she is da smartest chick I kno and what she say is ZACKERY what my cardio doc say.
