    Whats,
lol you reminded me of when a friend of mine was shaving her eye brows and her dog Tuffy ran between her legs and she shaved half of one eye brows off!! We had school pics the next day and there she is with her hair pulled down over one eye brow in the year book !!

We had a phone # you could call, we called the beep line
tons of people could get on it and talk??? I still don't know what that was but it was fun !!

Did anyone else have the egg lady or the bread man- my favorite, he delivered donuts too. Or milk that was in these big plastic containers with a spigot on the front of it?
How about making popsicles out of kool-aid
or building tents out of blankets in the back yard and sleeping out.
Going down town to the drug store to have a coke at the soda fountain that was served in one of those white cones in a metal silver holder.

    What a great thread.....!!!!

1966 here...... Will be 40 in a couple months and this sure brings back alot of memories.......

How about gouchos(sp)?...... And plaid polyester pants that were bell bottoms..... Or the granny glasses that were so popular...... I had to wear glasses a 4 years old (had a lazy eye) and my dad told me he would catch me rubbing my glasses on the driveway concrete so I wouldn't have to wear them..... I have school pictures of me wearing those fabulous glasses.....lol......

I used to deliver pizza coupons on Saturdays, made a dollar an hour, and my first pay went and bought me a Sean Cassidy album and had money left over for Taco Bell.... Plus I did this alone.... They would drop us off in a neighborhood and we would leave the coupons in the door or mailbox.....It was all kids that did it..... I would never let my son do that now......

What about playing Marbles or Jacks...... I had a Tether Ball in my backyard...... God, I loved Tether Ball..... I would play it for hours.... Or ride my bike for miles and miles...... Be gone all day and no one ever thought anything...... I had to be home when the streetlights came on.....

My sister and I were always dressed alike on Holidays.... Even our P.J.'s for Christmas Eve were alike....

About the Musk.... I still wear it...... And guess who it's made by..... Bonnie Bell....... It's called Skin Musk and it's one of two perfumes I wear....... I have quite a few friends who comment that after twenty years, I still smell the same..... I like that.... It's comforting to me and to them...... Still burn incense too..... I'm a hippy at heart.......

My first concert was Tom Jones...... I was nine...... My first rock concert was Journey and Foreigner..... I was 13..... I still love them to this day...... I'm still a rock-n-roll girl at heart......

How about Jordache, Calvin Klein, Gloria Vanderbelt Jeans......??? You had to lay down to get them zipped.... Had a wire hanger just for that purpose..... lol.....

Gas Light in the front yard that actually ran on gas......

Garage Door Openers were the new technology...... lol.....

Great thread..... This will have me thinking all day......
    Good Calming thoughts........ Thanks guys.......

    Hugs......

WHAT FUN! And what a laugh! I was born in 1954

I, too, remember rolling up our skirts before going to school - why didn't I mind the big roll at my waist? We had to kneel on the ground and if our skirt didn't touch the ground, back home to change! LOVED cruising with my friends in my Toyota! Remember TOO LONG bangs and white frosted lip gloss! Remember a wine called Annie Green Springs (yuck now as a wine snob!)Won tickets on the radio to a Hamilton-Joe-Frank and Reynolds and Grass Roots concert! Had dinner with them after the show with my girlfriend Georgia! Remember my 3 girl cousins coming over and practicing the twist in the llving room!

Hi all, Why don't I have any Norman Rockwell pictures in my house? I just love this stuff!

Sold Girl Scout cookies door to door (not in front of the grocery store). Had tons of Match Box Cars, (there's the tomboy in me again). Wish I had them now, very collectable. Halloween...popcorn balls, cookies and BIG candy bars. I would hit these houses over and over. Didn't like getting apples though, made my bag (pillow case) too heavy! Choking on my Grandma's unfiltered Camels. Farrah Faucet hairdo (feather those bangs).

1955, just turned 51. I remember fake candy cigarettes and Marlboro was our favorite cigarette of choice at fifty cents a pack from the vending machines. Fresca, party lines, hot pants, bell bottoms, the suede vests and purses with fringe, I loved my bell bottoms and platform shoes, Motown. Sierra, I think the Renaissance Fair is still around, it just changed locations and the Haight is still great.

Laying on the floor, listening to RADIO shows... "The Shadow", "The

    Music?? Bill Haley and the

Comets, "Rock Around the Clock." It started it ALL!!

The first TV, with the 13 inch round screen, and a choice of 2 channels

to watch!!! A multi-colored plastic thingy that was placed over the

screen to make it "color." (didn't take much to make us happy! lol)

Arthur Godfrey and Patsy Cline. (Walking after Midnite) Ed Sullivan

with Topo Gigio, the June Taylor Dancers, Elvis, (from the waist up. lol) and the Beatles!!!!

(much, much later, with a bigger TV, but not in color yet! And "remote"

still meant a far-away place.... lol)

Full skirts with 5 or 6 crinoline petty-coats, starched with sugar so

they'd stand out. Felt "Poodle" skirts, complete with telephone

applique. "Petti-shell shoes, dyed to match skirts and sweaters,

Dad's white shirts, with the collars turned up at the back, down at the

front with REAL Levi's. (boys Levi's of course, they weren't making

them for women yet) Mom was horrified!!!

Getting caught smoking in the bathroom at school, and ditching school. Mom was horrified! Again!!

Fighting with my niece: American Bandstand vs. Mickey Mouse Club!!

(She was a sucker for a bribe!)

Red Mountain, Thunderbird, and Ripple wine! Boone's Farm and

Annie Green Spring's came much later... (for our last reunion, we

found the Red Mountain and Thunderbird, but no Ripple to be found

    anywhere...<sigh>)

Cruising "Paxton's"...... our local drive-in, long gone..... and drive-in

theaters. Also long gone.... Watching "Submarine" races at the airport.... lmao....

I sure would like to have that '46 Ford coupe, '57 Chevy and the can't remember year Woody wagon back!

Watching live on TV, the first landing on the moon... Apollo 11. Watching the first Space Shuttle launch..

    What a thrill.....

Oh...... the memories!!!! Too many to post here.. but I'm still thinking.

Sierra, I wore desert boots but we called them Chugga Boots. I just figured that out! Don't know where Norman was from, but I love his nastalgic paintings.

I was wondering about the snow Patti. Didn't watch the news today. How much have you got now? It missed us (western/central Ohio), just got dusting. Hope you can stay indoors.

What a fun thread! Here's my contribution...

    Born in 64.

Soylent Green, Jaws, Star Wars (the "real" first one!)

All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, Maude, Jeffersons

    Flip Wilson, Laugh-In

Peter Frampton (Frampton Comes Alive album)

Coke in 16 ounce bottles (for a dime) - the anticipation of waiting for the machine to dispense the bottle, the sheer joy of talking that first gulp, the throat burning...

    Candy cigarettes (real ones, too)

    Jarts!

White patent leather boots, Earth shoes, Flannel shirts, bell bottoms

The football game where the board just vibrated and the players moved around at random.

    Pong

    $80 for a 4-function calculator

    Eight tracks.

My mom's ford Pinto, that got rear-ended twice without blowing up

Jim Croce, the Carpenters, Elvis, the Jackson Five, The Osmonds

Posters of David Cassidy all over my room.

Watergate, Patty Hearst. In a day of only three major networks, there was NO escaping the non-stop coverage of those stories.

UHF channels - every one in a while you got board with the normal channels and switched over to UHF and tried to find something - usually it was all snow and static.
