Mary Lou - oh no, hope you don't have any water damage. Great gas prices in your town. We are still paying around $2.45 per gallon. I hope the prices keep going down. We could all use the break. I haven't posted any Halloween pics because I didn't take any. We didn't do Halloween this year because Steven was grounded.
I went into Target this evening and bought a few Christmas ornaments to put on my sisters tree. She is collecting special ornaments in mom's memory and will be decorating her tree with them. I found a heart ornament with crystals that say "thanks mom" and Steven bought soccer ornaments. It includes a jersey with the number 10 (his age) and in blue (mom's favorite color). We were doing good but all of a sudden I had a flood of tears and had to leave the store. Oh God these will be the first holidays without mom.

Well, it's getting late and I have to get ready for bed. Have a good evening everyone. Love and hugs,
-
ODY ~ I understand the tears out of the blue. I remember going into the store and seeing a pair of gum boots and breaking into tears. Daddy always wore them in the garden and winter when he shoveled the snow.
I just lost it. I still have my moments, even today.
HUGS
FYI~ This is what a gum boot looks like. LOL, it is my age showing y'all. They slip over your work shoes.

Okay-here are our pics! I'm sorry it took such a long time, we've been having issues with our "new" camera (supposedly like the one we lost, but it has all these new-fangled cords that don't work with the computer). I finally decided to forgo the cords and do the pics the old-fashioned way.
Odalys-My heart goes out to you. It hadn't dawned on me where your message was going at first. Can we hold each other's cyber-hand this holiday? We are approaching my Dad's death anniversary next week. I can hardly believe it was only a year ago that happened. The "first" is never easy, is it? We can get through this-I'll wipe your tears if you wipe mine, okay?
I have to go to bed, but I need to tell you about our experience! The man who outfitted Christopher Reeve with an electrical stimulation suit is treating my son, and now he is treating me for my pain issues. E-stim is really amazing, and I keep telling this guy he is a MASTER at what he does. I told him he needs to go on Oprah, and I keep mentioning it. Well, as it turns out, he asked me to come and speak to some therapists in Munster regarding my e-stim results. I mentioned the Oprah thing, and a therapist pipes up that she has an Oprah "connection." She is going to be making calls, and be prepared ladies, Daniel and I just might actually be on Oprah after all!
Time for bed, but Marg-how's Mom?
Hugs, ML! Love and prayers, Deb
PS-where have you been, Anna?
-
Deb!!!!! The pictures are so cute....Look how long your hair is.
Did you know you can make your pictures smaller after you post them?
Go back to edit, then put your cursor on the picture and right click. a new window will pop up click image properties... In the window where it says Dimensions, put 600x600 and click update at the bottom .. You can also put 450x 300 etc...what ever you like best.
That way it won't stretch the page to much. Just play with it.
-
-
I just tried to change the size and got a pop up saying, "Sorry, but we noticed that your pop-up blocker blahblahblahblah......" Made no sense to me.......
I always have a hard time with sizes of pics. Grr!
-
That would be great Deb....Oprah
That would be a great place to meet too. LOL, just joking. I have a friend that lives there and has been to the Oprah show. She went to see John Ledgend. She hangs with him when he is in town.
-
PS-my kitty picture is because Greg had just spent several minutes "grooming" Rosie (much to her annoyance). He likes to slick back her fur, and thought the look on her face was hilarious.
She hates being brushed so much she hissed at him tonight. I NEVER heard her do that!
-
Daniel has grown so!Ody, I imagine how hard all the upcoming holidays will be, and I would like to hold your hand, too.The same goes for you, Deb.Love to all you sisters. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out our new high-speed provider's picture posting process. I'm a little confused right now.

Sneaking in a post while watching DWTS. The drama and nonsense is over so it's serious dancing from now on.
Yes, we will hold each others hands as we get through the holidays. We've lost our dear Kim, several other bc sisters from the boards, Debs dad and my Mom. It's going to be a difficult holiday season. But, we can make it together. Thank you for your support, love and sisterhood.
Deb - great costumes. You guys are so creative every year. How do your ideas?
Anna - can't wait to see your pics. How is your grandson? I read your post on the Republican thread. Glad to hear you are able to get good care in France too.
Margerie - It must be so difficult for you to see your mom go through all this. She is very fortunate to have you. Wow, 30 pounds is impressive. Congratulations!
MaryLou - LOL, I had never heard of a gum boot. Thanks for the visual. Love your pics. Your grandkids a adorable.
Nancy and Lat56 - How are you? I sure miss you around here.
Back to watching DWTS. Take care friends! Love y'all.

I'm not sure Michael's job is that steady. There is talk of shutting down again.
I hate to bring down the board more. But I need a big hug, and someone to hold my hand too.I love each one of you.
-
You got it sister. We will get through this hurdle together.

-
You've got my hand in yours. I am sending positive vibes and hope things start looking up.
-
Oh no. ML, my hand is stretching out for yours right now.
I love you guys.
-
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to hold him and nibble those cute little cheeks and make silly sounds on his belly and hear him giggle! I can practically hear him giggle by the picture alone!
SOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
What a happy guy. He is adorable. I too can hear his giggle. Ah, thanks for posting that great pic, Anna.
-
Hi sisters, I made a "hand-holding" thread to offer support for anyone who needs a hand these next few months.
Love and prayers, Deb
-
Thanks sisters for all the support. Michael seems to
think there will be another layoff around
Thanksgiving. Not sure where the future
lies at this time.
All I know is to trust that God
has a hand in this, and that
down the road I will understand.
Michael may go into the coal mines
again. But that means going away to work.
I saw something on TV just last week
about all the families split up just to
make ends meet. And how they didn't
get to see each other because of the cost of gas.
Now on to happy things, The BABY!
Anna he is sooooooooo very cute. Now there is
an Avatar for you.
Again girls , thank you for holding my hand.
-
Thank you for the avatar instructions, Ody. I've never had an avatar before and will give this a try for a bit. I might change to an ocean sunset at some point. Or the huge birch in our front yard. Or that little dog person who fills my days......
Love to all my sisters. Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday.
-
OH Anna he looks so perfect in that spot.....
-
Ahhhhhhhhh, Anna. He looks adorable. You did it! Great job!

Snow!! LOL we are still getting up to the mid- eighties.

A good friend of mine, a six year bc survivor, just put together her website ThereIsLifeAfterBreastCancer
It is a collection of survivor stories, photos and hope. Quite a diverse and interesting bunch of contributors including a male ex-marine. Some NED, some not, all incredible. She desperately wanted messages of hope when she was diagnosed, and as we know, these are hard to find. She also has a good sense of humor and she makes me laugh whenever I talk to her
Of course she talked me into turning in my own story. It took me 6 months to write it, all of one page or so. But the process was quite liberating in more ways than one. It was a great way to put down all the emotions.
I hope some of you will check out the site and maybe even contribute your own inspiring story. I know all of you have them!
Kind Regards,
MargerieP.S. I am going to post this in the Moving On section too.

Marg thanks for posting ....mid 80's WOW

I must say I was feeling much better as the temps went down. I love big sweat shirts , the smell of the leaves and fires in the stove. It was so pretty watching the snow last night. I can't wait to see Sebastian in it, the lake is only a few miles from us, but they didn't get any. I will be getting him so cool boots for sure on his birthday.
I can't believe he will be 2. Time is passing.
I have watched the babies a lot in these last months. And have really enjoyed seeing them grow.
Everybody is stressed, the plant may close on Dec 1. We don't know ...and Michael may not get his severance package at all. That was a lot of money.
We don't want to hit the 401 if we can help it, but it doesn't look good. And my health insurance will be gone.....
I believe Cory has a job, but it may not be enough. He will have to drive 45 minutes each way. And take a cut in pay.
FYI
I wanted to say that I was blasted on the boards....I said things in the wrong way. I hope I have never hurt my sisters here....it would kill me.
I better stay on the boards where it's not so deep.....you can read what I wrote...Marg ~ I saw your post on the same board and agreed. It was on what can I do for you post .
