No ice storm here but snow up on Mt. Hermon in the north. My daughter and her boyfriend went up there to frolic in the snow. He had never been there. It was slushy snow, though. They got free entrance and went for a ride on the cable car and rented a sled.

    Stay warm, Laura.

It's warm here but the temps will drop by noon and we'll have rain for the next couple of days. So, I will get out of here to take Casey for a walk again before that happens.

TracyNY..hope the weather doesn't ruin your plans. Sounds like you will have fun. I'm sure Atlanta has better weather. Say hi to my cousins...they live there.

Tracy Seattle.. hope Dave's leg heals quickly. At least it gave you a breather! LOL

PAULA!!! I sure hope that flu leaves you soon! FEEL BETTER FAST!!! Pamper yourself with some interesting teas and lemon. Lemon is good..helps clean out your system.

Rose Marie..that is always the mystery...where DO the posts go??? I picture them floating around cyberspace and then landing somewhere where somebody reads them and wonders..what is THIS all about? I think that would explain the spam mail I get...it was probably meant for somebody else!

Paula, As usual, my computer is delayed in receiving your new avatar. I am sure it is beautiful. It will probably show up sometime in the next day or two. I really can't figure out how that happens.

I am thinking I better go and do all my running around before the ice and snow hit here today. So far nothing. I hope it stay's that way.

    Have a Nice Day everyone.

    TracyNY:

I think you wished so hard for snow that the whole northern half of the country is suffering! Here in southern Minnesota, we've gotten more than a foot. It would have been more but there was a period of sleet in there that would have massed more as snow, I'm sure. What a mess!

Thanks ladies for all the hair compliments. I woke up today and it is still straight but sticking up in alot of places.LOL.

We had a great time last night even danced the Newfie Jig,the songs are so upbeat and very tiresome to dance to. I found that if you just move alot and jump up and down you fit right in.LOL. We were doing the spin your partner round and round and looping arms it was a blast!

I had one shot of butterscoth cream with my sister while we were getting ready and then one vodka and oj while there but that was enough to make me feel a little tipsy, cheap drunk.ha ha:)

It was a late night for me, went to bed at 1:30 a.m.

I will post a few pictures later.

Deb - I have to laugh at other's people;s ignorance now as they dont think before they open their mouths. I was at the hair dresser yesterday and my hairdress and I were talking about how much curlier and darker my hair is now post treatment. This older lady now she was in her 60's at least piped into the conversation and started telling me how a friend of the families daughter had bc and all the problems she had with lympodema. Then of course she says she had all these problems before she died! I could have smacked her upside the face and had to control myself. Do these people have to insist on telling stories of tragedy, not what I want to hear....argh. Just ignorance that's all I have to say....would rather talk of positive things.

TracyNy - you are a riot, shopping in your own house. I can say I dont have any clothes in my closet with tags still on them, OMG girl you know how to shop! Now my hubby is a different story he has shirts that are still in plastic....
Have fun with your friend and hopefully Air Transat doesnt cancel her flight.

Paula - the only reason why my hair got straightened out is because the hairdresser spent an hour doing it. I would not have a clue how to do it myself. Mine too is sooo soo curly. I like both though and am use to my curly hair but it seems so much shorter than when it is straightened out.
Feel better soon.... I cant see your new avtar yet!

Laura - we have no snow yet but they are forecasting it for tomorrow, yuk---just in time for me to have to drive to work in it.

Tracyseattle - enjoy your restful weekend they are always nice for a change. We had a busy one this weekend.

Graycie - did I tell you I can see your new avtar and your hair looks great. I had my sister bring over the small barrel curling iron and it worked well.

Kelly - thanks for the compliment. I always use to highlight my hair in the past when it was long but now it is darker than my pre bc colour and I may keep it that way. My hair remains healthy and dont have to spend the extra money and mainteance of highlights.

Cindy - a foot of snow omg that is alot to dig out from.

    Take care everyone.

    Have a great Sunday

Your hair looks great Michelle , very think. And as for Paula - it looks like a very expensive curl there - no one has hair like that naturally !! Its beautiful.

I have been reading up on Chicago. I know that the zip was invented there, as was spray paint and something else i cant remember. It had the first skyscraper and the first McDonalds. Navy Pier is the place to go, and there is some lovely sculpture in Millenium park. There - i could be a tour guide!

Laura - we have a place like that locally, only no horses. It is poplular for parties as there are jesters,no plates but thick chunks of bread as plates and people drink from jugs etc. We have never been as i am quite proud of my kids table manners!

No snow here, gardening in a Tshirt earlier.

Where has Brenda gone again? Hope her Mum is still OK

Deb - thanks for the compliment. I will have to review Laura's previous links about things to do while in Chicago, the boat cruise or whatever it was sounds like fun.

Here are two pictures of last night's festivities. My sister and I and my hubby and I.

    Have a super Sunday.

OMG - Our mailbox has been decapitated by our township's snow plow! I saw this as I was pulling out of our driveway this morning. And then I counted 5 additional victims along our road! Our mailbox cost $600! I called the township in the hope that maybe they can weld it back together, but I hope someone doesn't lose their job over this. The storm here was pretty bad, but it's warmed up so everything is melting.

    Paula -
I still see your old avatar! This is weird...I tried refresh and then I tried logging off...but it hasn't showed up here yet! Hope you're feeling better.

    Debbie -
You know more about Chi town than me! Gardening in a t-shirt...I am so envious! And yes Navy Pier is FAB!

    Michele -
I would give anything to see you dance the way you described it! LOL I hope the roads aren't bad for you tomorrow.

ronnie..lovely post...thanks for that...glad you are back. we are here for you as you journey the chemo path once again.

Michele..wow..what a gorgeous pic of you and your sister and then again with your husband. It sounds like you had a terrific time! And it was very fancy, it appears. How fun!

I'm waiting to hear from my very close girlfriend. She told me they found a mass that needs to be biopsied and I said CRAP! She has been through the cancer route already. Can't it stop?????

Laura...that is awful about all the mailboxes. But..just one question..what kind of mailbox do you have? Why was it so expensive. We don't have boxes on the road or even at home. We have to go to a postbox to pick up our mail.

Debbie..yes..Chicago is great! Navy pier is lots of fun. You can rent quadcycles there. I did that last year with my girlfriend and daughter. It was really fun! And MacDonalds...the school where you can learn to manage one is near to where I used to live. We used to joke about that!

Well, earlier we could have done gardening in our t-shirts but this afternoon it started pouring and the temps are dipping again. Not yet Spring, but we're almost there!

Am getting worried about Brenda. Hope all is well over there and with her mom....

And Jill..where is Jill??? She is supposed to room with us in August! Our room is really neat..a Canadian, Aussie, Israeli and then maybe Jill, from Scotland!!! Is that not the most International????

Michele, loved the picture's. You look great....Sound's like you had a really good time. I was telling Laura, we went out last night and the girl I went out with had on a cheetah fur coat.......lol...brought back memories, my Mom (the real Graycie) used it have one. I've got to find that picture.

Ravdeb, I am wishing the best for your friend.

Laura, I hope you get compensated for your mailbox. That is terrible. Someone should be liable. You must have one of those really cool mailboxes.

No snow yet but I see everyone else is getting hit..I don't want to speak too soon because we will probably get it sooner than later because it is all around us. Washington, DC is getting it now and Tracy watch out, like they say "watch what you wish for" as NYC is next.

Navy Pier also has SeaDog Speed Boat rides...supposedly lots of fun at a very high speed! But I would be very worried if Debbie went on one, that she would fall out of it or some other tragedy would happen! LOL Debbie - don't forget to pack your crash helmut and your first aid kit! OMG LOL

Oh - you had a post box with a little flag , on a pole!! I so wanted one of those after we visited last year! Dont think our postman would know what to do with one tho. Surely i am not the only one with a simple letter box in her front door??
Oh, and i remember - the other thing invented in Chicago was the roller skate - how could i forget that??
Tried finding Jills phone number but didnt know her husbands initial so cant get it. Hope she is OK.

Snow report from North Dakota. Ten inches and still falling but no big wind so no blizzard but there is ground drifting and I’m snowed in.

Ronnie–Thank you for restoring your post. I’ve gone back and read it again. Your sisters here need to know how you were hurt. Your statement that you have done some “good work” shows in your new post. Now it is my prayer that the sister who ignored your questions do that same “good work” and attempt to heal this breach of trust.

I echo Deb’s “glad your back” We are here for you just as you have been here for us.

Gail–My Aunt June-–the one who died in December use to sew many of her clothes, including coats and once made a coat with real leopard buttons–her youngest daughter Jane called them “real live shepherd” buttons!

Michele–love your pictures. You look really nice all dressed up. (Not that you don’t always look nice) Your hair is great either way!

TracyNY-sorry I was preaching to the choir about the Blue Man Group. I’ve heard about them for a few years and maybe even saw a short promo once on television but the experience was something else in Vegas.

I think the trick to the raisin thing is to coat them in a little of the flour before adding them to the batter.

Paula–still sick–doesn’t sound like much fun. Here’s hoping you’re on the up hill swing.

Tracy–nice to hear you’re having a restful weekend. Sorry to hear about Dave’s leg.
I’m having a restful weekend as well. Plan to have a private Oscar party tonight. Just me, Barbara and Ellen! (that’s Walters and DeGeneres)

One of my faithful employees and her husband just showed up to try to blow out my yard. So with any luck all my employees will show up tomorrow.

I’m going home now—enjoy what’s left of the weekend ladies.

    With Love,

Laura, OMG, your poor mailbox....you weren't kidding they knocked it off.

Deb, I hope you are bringing Mark with you.......lol.....

Cathy, It is starting to sleet here, of course after they called off the storm. I don't think these weathermen know what they are talking about. Pretty nasty if you ask me. Sound's like you really got hit. I hope your friend is able to get the snow cleared out for you. Funny about the shepard button's.

I am glad that this group is getting back to normal once again.

Today I taped and painted (refreshed) the white trim leading to our upstairs. We made a list of things to be done before selling so I decided to get started today cause mid April will be here sooner than we think. I use to love painting pre-bc and this is the first time I have had my paint brush out since then, it felt great. My old self is starting to emerge.

Victoria - welcome back. I hope that chemo continues to go well for you. Thanks for the kind words.

Deb - We will be the International Cheetah room, how does that sound? We did have a good time last night, it was nice to do normal things once again. The dance had alot of ladies dressed up in ball gowns. I wore a fancy new blouse with carmel coloured nice pants and was comfy.

Best wishes for your friend, hoping everything is benign.

Paula - I still cant see your avtar! I wonder why? It is so weird that others can see it but I cant...

Graycie - we are starting to get some snow now. Thanks for the compliment.

Laura - sorry about the mailbox. We live rural route and have lost our mailbox once by some young vandals that decided to destroy it after a Fall Fair a few years ago.

Cathy - batten down the hatches, winter is almost over isnt it? Spring is March 21 according to the calendar, hum...

Have a great evening, gotta run and have some dinner.

    Love to you all.

dEBBIE: I'm fine, and I thought you knew that the GI doc cleared Ma of any GI problems. So we all feel better now. Thanks for your concern, my little Israeli sister. Speaking of international, would you include a Filipino woman in your room, or is there a limit to the number of guests in a hotel room?

Michele: Your big smile IS contagious (and your big hair fabulous).

I saw almost all of the best picture nominees, all except for Iwo Jima. I really liked Little Miss Sunshine. Don't tell me who won before I watch it.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ROLLER SKATING WHILE YOU'RE HERE! lol

    Graycie -
Whew...you're right...good thing Mark will be with Debbie!

    ravdeb -
I hope your girlfriend's biopsy is B9. BC is everywhere! My Mother just told me one of her girlfriends daughters was just dx'd with it!

    ------------------

I started scanning some of my wedding photos (I got married before digital cameras were invented - LOL). I want to post some just for the fun of it and because it was the very happiest day of my life. Our wedding was like the fairy tales I dreamed of as a little girl. I know some of you may laugh though, because I really looked like an idiot! LOL My hairdo was a joke, but I was so busy helping everyone else get ready that day, that I didn't have time to worry about myself. So...it's okay if you laugh, really it is. LOL

Laura! I want to ride on the speed boat! That looks like a lot of fun!

Wow - all of you ladies in the snow - KEEP WARM!!!

Paula - I love your new avatar!

Dave's daughter from San Diego was here on business this week, so she stayed with us last night and I fixed breakfast this morning for his family. I hope having me around to do these things for him is helping him to rest and heal. He has a wound that is about the size of a quarter and almost 1/2 inch deep. It is from the prosthesis rubbing on his leg. He doesn't heal very well, so I am pretty worried about him. At least he is going to the Dr. and the Wound care center now and they are keeping a close eye on him.

Well, we are watching the red carpet. I am having a problem with Nicole's big red bow.... the rest of the dress is nice, but I think she should loose the bow..... Reese Witherspoon is looking good!

I wanted our photos to have an editorial look, so it took me a while to find a "wedding" photographer that would shoot that style. (Sorry so many...I couldn't decide.) Overall, I was very happy with the photos, but I hated my hair and makeup that day! LOL
