2005 ROCK-TOBER CHEMO GIRLS

Well ... today I went to court AGAIN and my ex didn't bother to even show up. So, that is all over with now and of course, the judge ruled in my favor and established the arrearge for child support/child care and gave the new order of what he should pay from now on. Will he pay? No, I don't plan on it or even think of it but someday, it will bite him in the butt because the judge ordered 10% interest on the past due and all future payments.
Hope you are all well. -
nice to see what you look like tadah i don't think i had seen a pic of you before
-
we got the house. my husband and i are officially first time homeowners we settle on sept. 28th. last summer this time, i got breast cancer (august 19th) and this time, i just bought my first home. life is so bizarre
-
I posted a picture when I got back from Barbados but I'm not too on top of this resizing thing.
I like the new moniker, Tadah!! That's me, a bag of tricks!! I loved the reunion photos of Laura, Rosemarie and Deb. It's nice to see the group gathering in the flesh. I was actually looking at airfares to Las Vegas for the get-together there. I hope the Rock-tober crowd can represent, I plan to be there.
Deb, you look waaay younger than you did in your old avatar, and as for my sister freak, Laura (I don't care what you have everyone else believing about that Hedonism trip!) you are as cute as you wanna be! Rosemarie, you have a nice head of hair there, you sure you did chemo in October?! -
TA DAH -
We missed you, girl! Welcome home. Can't wait to see the photos! (Any...push, push in the bush?) LOL
Laura -
Hi girls! Just cheking in to say hi.
Amy, congrats!! have fun decorating! We bought a house with my ex a few years back, and i remember that feeling of ownership.. it does feel great, doesnt it.
Mary, its winter in Oz now, so yes, a bit cool. Today is actually quite miserable, rain and about 15C, which is about 60F i think? But then again, yesterday was beautiful, about 20C (70F) and sunny... and this is WINTER! so we are lucky here in Sydney.
I've been busy planning my trip to Russia and Europe, i am sooo looking forward to it!! Wish i was coming to US though, how i want to meet you guys!
Tadah, its funny, this is how i always read you name! Love your pics.
take care all
-
No news from me. Everything status quo. But, I want to say HI and wish everyone a very nice, safe, enjoyable weekend. So happy that everyone is doing well and having a great summer.
love to all,
Mary -
i'm on my way to meet ravdeb for lunch and bringing my camera
-
I wrote this long post last night congratulating Amy on the house and some choice words for Terynsmom's ex-husband and poof! It disappeared. The agony of delete!
-
Tda, I was thrilled that he didn't show up. The whole court thing makes me ill! I am so glad you had a nice vacation in Jamacai. I went to Sandals Dunn's River back in 1994 and of course, we went to the Falls. It was such a blast being in Jamaica!
Amy, Amy, I am sooooo happy for you!! Home ownership is alot of fun and a lot of responsibility, but it's all YOURS. You get to paint, wallpaper, put in nice carpets and do whatever you want!! Post pics right away of you and ravdeb!
Paula, when do you leave for your trip???
Where's Graycie (gosh I feel like George Burns always looking for Graycie!!)
-----
For me, I signed the contracts for the swimming pool and spa! It's going to be salt water filtration instead of having to deal with chlorine. Don't worry, it's not salt water like the ocean. Mildly salty, so when you get out of the pool your skin is soft instead of dry. You'd never know it was salty even if you open your eyes. My dad has one and we love it! -

Just got back from lunch with ravdeb...she's the greatest Ravdeb...it was sooooo great to meet you. I really feel lucky to have gotten to see you especially since you don't exactly live nearby When am I meeting the rest of you girlies?
Here's a picture of us from today (I look like a mammoth compared to her...she's so tiny!) -
Amy, what a great picture!!!! I'm soooo glad you guys were able to get together!!!!! Isn't Ravdeb sooo incredibly sweet?!!! Congrats on the house, by the way!!
Tda - I love your pictures too!! Sounds like you had a nice time! And yup...I'm a Rock-tober girl through and through
Laura - you crack me up!!
Kelly - congrats on the pool! So sorry you have to go through all the stress and worry with your moronic ex!
Mary - hi to you too! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Everyone else - have a great weekend too!! Last Saturday I was with Justin in the ER - he broke his nose by tripping and smacking his face on his dresser...this Saturday we'll be celebrating his b-day with a Superman theme (since he thinks he can fly!) -
Amy - Ravdeb -
You both look great and so happy! Isn't it incredible meeting one of the Rocktober Girls! You look as though you've known each other forever!
Amy -
Congrats on the house! Post a photo of it.
Paula -
Russia and Europe! That's great!
Kelly -
Congrats on the pool! I am so envious. You and Teryn are going to have lots of fun! Hey, now you can drown your ex! LOL
tda -
Nice photos!
WHERE'S MARYANNE BEEN? Anyone heard from her?
Graycie,
Sherryhaire,
and OMG Debbie...wasn't she going up, up and away in a hot air balloon? Now I'm reeeeeally worried! Hope Evils okay.
Laura -
Hi All!!!
Gosh I love all of you Rocktober girls! It is so wonderful to look back at where we have all been together and where we are now..... So nice to see everyone moving on and doing fun things again.
Amy - Congrats on the house!!! How very cool! I so wanted to met Ravdeb while she was here. I am glad that some of you have been able to get together with her. I miss her posts, hope she is having fun in Florida. I don't want her to go back home to the chaos there.....
TaDah - Looks like you had a great time, I bet you have some stories. I know they are going to come out here eventually! LOL
Mary - Hi!!!!
Kelly - I have been thru that whole EX thing. It is so difficult. You hang in there girl and I am glad that things went your way.
Paula - I spent two weeks in Sydney a few years back. I LOVE IT THERE! What a beautiful place.
I am getting ready to leave for my Volunteer Team Captain's meeting for the Komen 3 Day Walk which is 8/25-27 here in Seattle. I am the Team Captain over Traffic and Crowd Control for Closing Ceremonies - now won't that just be interesting.
Met with the Pastor of my church and another bc.org sister (gosh - I have to ask her what her screen name was, she hasn't been on line here for quite some time) about the Support group that we are starting. Our fist meeting is Sept 12!!! My pastor lost his 15 year old son to cancer and was his care giver, Michelle is a young breast cancer survivor and I am an Old breast cancer survivor and am experiencing a divorce along with Cancer recovery. We bring a lot of different experiences into the group. It is very cool that the Pastor is planning to be a facilitator of the group right beside Michelle and I!
Well, I must hush for now. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! -
-
It's gorgeous! You'll be all settled in for the holidays and the long winter ahead of us!
Much happiness, contentment and love to you and your dh!
Laura -
Beautiful House!!! Congrats!!!!
-
Yeah!!! Yahoo!!! Yipee!!! Great for you, Amy. What a wonderful blessing and opportunity!! It looked like there were some yellow walls in the living room. I think that will be cheerful and the front entrance looks so welcoming. Congratulations!!
Greetings and well wishes to everyone.
Isn't Ravdeb just looking better and better? This vacation must have been just what she needed. I'm also worried about her return to Israel, but it is her home and she must surely know the situation. We will just have to pray for her and her loved ones to stay safe. I'm not being political, but I just hate that we have wars and such cruelty in the world.
My primary way of coping with my anxiety about such things is to contribute in some way to those less fortunate. Right now I am working on a pair of socks to go to a kid at the Children's Hospital which is a part of the hospital where I work. They won't bring world peace, but I hope they make some little soul a bit happier.
I have not forgotten my offer to make pink socks for any October girl who wants a pair. I've been scouring the internet looking for a good price and the right color pink yarn. Today I found some hot pink at a unbelievable price. Do you think hot pink will be a good color??
Let me know . . .
love to all,
Mary -
Oh, I also wanted to say, Tracy, I admire how you are getting so involved in the breast cancer community with the Komen Walk and now the support group. You are a great role model. I think of how you have changed through this experience and really find it an inspiration.
Whaoo for you, Tracy!! -
Just a quickie.
I am back from Ireland - off to Legoland on Wed. The ferry got there and back without a hitch ( must be losing my touch!) It has been incident free apart from Mark putting his teeth through his lip on the first day (by all accounts he wasnt ACTUALLY bouncing from bed to bed when his face came into contact with the radiator - hmmmmmm) and the lid coming off of the toothpaste in the suitcase - lovely!
The weather was a bit hit and miss but we had a great time.We went bodyboarding which was fantastic and the sand and gravel burns were even better than those from mountain boarding!!
We are just about speaking to the friends that we went with - might not do that again.
Right to catch up.
Mary - great news on the results. And i would LOVE some socks - better be giant sized!
Amy - congratulations on the house - will look when i have got this posted safely!
Paula - Europe - are you coming near me at all? Feeling quite left out over here. I am thinking of cutting and pasting myself into some reunion photos!
Songs - what a great idea. Mine would be Angels by Robbie Williams or Always by Bon Jovi.
Tadah - they actually let you through customs? I am usually the one they stop and its always my dirty washing they search!
This is us in Dublin with the statue of Molly Malone from the song.
Will post again when this is safely on!
Debbie -
Here we are one evening having a paddle in the Irish sea.
And here is my long suffering husband and me
Debbie -
OK, Where do I start? I have been running around like a nut case. It seem's like I never have a free moment. Maybe that is a good thing, it takes my mind off of things.
First of all, Kelly, I can't believe you remember George Burn's and Gracie Allen. That's Funny, Graycie was my Mom's name and I just use it as my screen name. Actually my real name is Gail (how boring is that) if you read my profile you probably already know. I am so used to Graycie now but I am starting to feel like a fraud. My middle name is Ruth and my sister's call me Ruthie for a joke so you can see where I have an identity crisis........I am glad your ex didn't show up in court, I think that is good thing. My daughter went through the same thing and the Judge had no use for him after he didn't show up and granted her full custody. That was 9 yrs ago and she hasn't heard from her ex since. So everything worked out good for her. Maybe you will get lucky too and he will stay away all together, wouldn't that be nice?.
How are your plans coming along for the Pool?.......I'm jealous, I want one........
Amy, I love your house and the picture of you and Ravdeb too..So glad you were able to meet........Isn't it exciting getting your own home? I remember when we got our first home (actually I still live in it) is was so much fun, decorating, etc........I really think it is time for a change for me. My house started out as a starter home and if I don't watch out it will be our retirement home too....HA...
Tadah, Your pictures are great........You are so lucky you get to travel so much. Same goes for you Paula.
Laura, Look's like a new avatar, CUTE! Your right, where is Maryanne, Sherry or Debbie (she is the one I worry about the most with her track record)
Rosemarie, I agree your hair is growing in fast. I still look like Woody Woodpecker. Happy belated birthday to Justin. How is his nose? I hope he enjoyed his party.
Tracy and Mary, you are both such inspiration's to me. You give so much of yourselves to other people. Mary I am also worried about Ravdeb going back to Israel. I guess she know's what she is doing. I will also pray for her safe return.
Hopefully I touched base with everyone......If I missed anyone I am sorry.
Take care everyone and I will try and get on here more often.......I love you all. You all feel like part of my family.
Love Graycie (Gail) -
Debbie, there you are.......We were posting at the same time. Great pictures...So glad you had a good time and have returned safely......Gotta go my husband is bugging me for the computer.......Take Care!
-
marymelodi -
Hot pink rocks!
Debbie -
You continue to crack me up! The photos are beautiful - you look smashing! I sent you something through the mail - it is soooooooooooooooooo appropriate! Can't wait til you get it. LOL
Graycie -
Glad you stopped by! Now I wish the other MIAs would do the same!
Love to all...
Laura -
Gracyie...it's hard for me to switch to knowing your name is Gail I'll have to work on making that switch How's your hair doing? I want updated pics!
-
Marymelodi, hot pink is OUR color, cuz we are HOT (and some of us are hotter than we'd like to be, flash, flash)!!
For the CD ... I think I like the one by Kylie, "Can't Get You Out of Head."
Amy, I looked at the pictures and it's so nice that it's already painted in some nice colors.
------
They will start the pool on August 28th and it should take about 40 working days, they said.
September 24th is the Komen Walk down here and I am going to do it! 5k. -
Laura - I am so excited now - the postman will think i have a thing about him!
Kelly - the pool sounds great. We bought a 15ft'easy up' one last year when i was diagnosed so that the kids didnt feel thay were missing out by me not being able to take them places. We have it up about 6 months of the year ( with the heater over here!) They are in it most days, we dont have to go antwhere now - everyone comes to us. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.
The house is so cute! My question for you all tho is, Whats a powder room????? Is it a posh name for what we call the downstairs loo? ( but i live in a bungalow so all of my toilets are downstairs!!)
One good thing from my holiday - i have lost half a stone in weight - so i had blackcurrant cheesecake to celebrate!!
Debbie -
I know what you mean Amy.....I can still be Graycie because no one will know who I am. That's why I didn't sign my name Gail in the first place. I tried using the screen name Gail and Gailey but they were taken so that's how I ended up with Graycie. I probably should have used initials or numbers after it. Maybe I could be Gailcie....Ha, just kidding.
-
Ravdeb, I am not sure when you are returning to Israel or if you will be getting on the computer before you leave but somebody has set up a thread under "moving beyond" in your name. They are all wishing you a safe return home. You may want to check it out.......
