Single Pink Rose for AlaskaDeb
I saw earlier today that Deb's service will be Sat Jan 31 at the Soldotna Bible Chapel.
I am sending a single pink rose vase and thought perhaps others might like to do so as well.
I just ordered one from Tammy's Flower's & Gifts (in Soldotna AK) and was assisted by Rachel.
I "warned" Rachel that she may get lots of calls ordering single pink rose vases for Deborah Clonan's service. Rachel already knew the service is Sat at the Soldotna Bible Chapel.
The cost of the rose, vase & delivery is $26. BUT - Traci called after I did, and found out that for $10 you can buy a single rose that will be added to a huge bouquet (probably several bouquets, I understand there are over 100 single roses so far). Thanks Traci for finding out about the $10 rose so more can participate if they want to.
If anyone else is interested, the florist phone number is 907-260-5355.
I will also post this info on the Circle thread.

Hey Donna,
Thanks so much for this!!!
I just got off the phone with Rachel. She is ready for more calls. We dicussed having many vases.....already, 5 girls have called......so, going foward, anyone else can call and for $10.00 have a rose in their name (they are going to put all the names on a "card") added to the GIANT display of roses.
I don't mean to "hijack" your thread. You are so awesome for thinking of this!!!!
My heart is smiling about doing this.....I hope many others participate. Can you imagine 100 roses!!!!!!!
Please girls, call and buy a $10.00 rose to be sent to Deb's family. Just tell her it's for the "Single Rose for Alaska Deb".
Hugs, Traci

P.S.: For those that have already spent the $26.00 myself included, this will cover the cost of "the most beautiful vase she can find" and the set up and delivery. Thanks girls.
P.S.S.: You know what I just thought about? Imagine too what a boost it would be for the little flower shop in Soldotna, Alaska if 100 girls bought a $10 rose. I bet that would be the best day they have had in a long, long, long time. Love you guys.

What a wonderful idea..thank you Donna...I will be calling!!
-
I'm calling now. Thanks for doing this.

Thanks Donna and Traci for the info.
I just called and spoke to (already forgot her name, but it wasn't Rachel). The sweet gal I talked to said she would be the one delivering the flowers on Saturday. I asked her take a picture of the roses for us and she said she would. I also gave her the BCO.org website info.
-
I just got off the phone....thanks for the info.
-
Me, too! Donna and Traci - Thanks for coordinating this. It just gives me goosebumps thinking about the church filled with pink flowers on Saturday.

Thanks you guys, so much. You are awesome!!
-
I'm in the U.K. but would love to send a rose-is there an internet link to the shop that I could order through, or will I need to phone?
-
Hi Elaine,
I just talked to Rachel and they don't have a website. Must be a real small town! If you want.....you can PM your info me your info if you want......sorry...
-
Traci - I'm glad you talked to Rachel about a more affordable option, ($10 rose vs a $26 vase) so that maybe more can participate that want to. Thanks!
Donna

I just spoke to Mona (they plan on getting a very large card) ...thank you for spearheading this!
-
I just called - ordered 3. Rachel said they were getting a ton of calls. You ladies rock.
-
Thanks Ladies, This is a great idea, I also just spoke to Rachel...She sounds so chipper and awake, I think after she gets 100 or so calls she may not have as much energy..I dont think she as any idea how many ladies will be calling in..I hope Deb is looking down and knows how much see is loved by everyone here..Nice job Donna and Traci..Hugs KLynn xoxox

That was funny KLynn! lol.
This is so great Donna. I'm so glad so many are participating. I'm smiling for the first time today.
-

Rachel got my call also. What is the time difference? She is getting tons of calls. It will be beautiful. They are displaying the City and State of each person.
Nancy
-
Oh....the city and state is an awesome idea! And, in some cases, it will be country! I can't remember (imagine that) but I think the time difference is 6-7 hours earlier than central.
Every person that posts makes me laugh about KLynn's comment! lol

Traci thanks for the offer-but just managed to get through. Poor Rachel not only had to cope with the other phone ringing (bet it was one of us...), but we struggled to find the extra security detail we needed-but we got there in the end. She reckons, at a very rough count, she's taken least 40 orders, in less than 2 hours......
-
I just ordered. Thanks so much for the info. The other phone was ringing while Rachel was talking to me. They are getting inundated...and I wouldn't want it any other way. Deb meant so much to so many of us here. Still can't believe she's gone.
-
thank you for this....
-
I just now ordered too and the phone was ringing while Rachel was taking my order. Such a wonderful idea you had Donna. Thank you for getting this started.
-
Oh....this is just so awesome!!! John is going to love this.....awe...imagine what her daughters will think.....oh man.....just teared up again.
I feel really good about the income we are giving the little flower shop too. This is just awesome all the way around.
-
Ladysuz...Yep, I'm pretty sure that was me. She put you on hold and came back to me. Now I know whom I kept waiting!
Rachel told me she is worried about figuring out how to post the pic. If it doesn't get posted Saturday or Sunday, one of us should call back and walk them through it. It would be wonderful to see it.
-
I have a request. I have no way to pay over the internet. Would someone trust me to send a money order in American Funds? Please send me a PM.
-
I will Sharon!! PM on the way!
-
Can someone please purchase my rose for Deb? I can pay it back to you if you have a PayPal account. Someone would you do that for me pretty please???
Hugs,
Fumi

Just talked to Rachael and ordered a rose. What a blessing this is...was hard to order as I got choked up thinking of all the pink roses that will be there.
