Hi all! Hi Lorie and Pam! Nice to talk with you guys again.
Ok, I am in Garden City, so none of the locations are a problem for me, really. I'm with Pam on Ann Arbor, though; I love going there, but hate driving around there. As long as it's not far from the expressway, thats good!
So, everyone chime in with their locations...I'll pm some of the gals who haven't checked in lately so they will know to come on board and help with the decision.
Edit: Ok, I pm'd the newer girls, so they can help us to decide where to meet. I did have a thought, though...the Olive Garden doesn't take reservations, do they? Maybe they will for a larger group, but I'm not sure. Of course, this is a luncheon, not dinner, so maybe we won't need them?
Hugs

Hi Ladies,
I live in Waterford. And I been reading about a meeting. Would love to meet you all. Keep me posted where it is going to be. Maybe I can get my honey to drive me there. Not sure if I can make it that date but sure would like to try. As for where to eat I have not idea of what there is in AA. -
Any place is ok with me. I'm in Novi so if anyone wants to carpool I'm up for that too.
I agree about those in Macomb, Ann Arbor may be too far away.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, and those I haven't met yet on 2/19. -
Hi! I'm Ann from Rochester Hills. I'd rather not go to Ann Arbor, but will try if that is what is decided.
-
Hi there,
I am open on the 19th as well and I will check with Conniesue.
All is well here...just getting ready to hit that one year anniversary. -
Any chance you all could come east a bit? Maybe Olive Garden (perfect choice by the way) maybe in Brighton? that is about a 1 hour and 45 minutue drive for me. Ann Arbor would be over 2.5 hours.
Thanks!
Janis -
Hi All:
I'm in Bloomfield Township (Maple and Telegraph) area. I'm agreeable to whatever works for the majority . . .
Pat -
Janis,
Just curious where in Michigan you are from?
Lorraine -
I'm up for whatever date and location....I am going to make sure I get to this one....I have been so bummed to miss the past two...I can't wait to meet you all.....
Hugs to everyone.....

Are you ready for this list??? I know there is even more of us! You used to be able to search on the User Names for State but I don't see how to do it anymore.
I think more of us are North/East. Do you want to try the Olive Garden in Novi? I don't know the East side to even suggest anything.
There are several who have not checked in for a long time. Maybe we should post in the other topics soon. Can you believe this is our third meeting and there are 12 pages to this post!! That makes us the most active State I think.
If you see someone missing from the list, let me know and I will add them.

Thanks, Nancy, for all that work you did getting the list together! Wow! Now we understand why it is so hard to pick a location...we are all over the place. I was thinking the same thing last week...we Michigan gals do a really good job of keeping in touch with each other. Maybe I have my boards set up differently from you, but I show 23 pages on our thread!
I think Novi is o.k. It seems fairly central for most of us. What does everyone else think?
Judy -
I agree Judy, Novi seems pretty good for everyone on here. Nancy, I meant to say great news on hubby!
Please let me know if the 19th is still the time; I am making out my work schedule for next month. Olive Garden in Novi?
Stay warm...egawds I cannot wait till I am in St Lucia!!
Lorie -
Yes Nancy, thanks for all your hard work!!! I guess we're setling in on Novi on the 19th - right??? Sounds great to me . . . Now our next decision is the time I guess. Lunch, I'm assuming??? I know that would be best for me but if others have a different opinion, we can talk about that too, right? I'm going to be gone from this Saturday (1/22) through the next Saturday (1/29) so if I don't see anything definitive on the board before I go, I'll just check when I get back.
Hope all are doing well - and trying to keep warm!!!! BRRRR!!!
Pat -
The 19th in Novi works for me too! Lunch would be great.

I got this joke in my email this morning, thought I'd share with my Michigan sisters;
>A young woman in Cheboygan was so depressed that she decided to end
> her life by throwing herself into the Straits.
>
> She went to the Mackinaw Bridge and was about to leap into the
>frigid water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the
>rail, crying.
>
> He took pity on her and said, "Look, you have so much to live for.
> I'm off to Europe in the morning, and if you like I can stow you
>away on my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food
>every day." Moving closer, he slipped his arm around her shoulder
>and added, "I'll keep you happy, and you'll keep me happy."
>
> The girl nodded yes. After all, what did she have to lose?
>Perhaps a fresh start in Europe would give her life new meaning.
>That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat.
> From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a
>piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn.
>
>Three weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered
>by the captain.
>"What are you doing here?" the captain asked. "I have an arrangement
>with one of the sailors," she explained. "I get food and a trip to
>Europe, and he's screwing me."
>
>"He certainly is," the captain said. "This is the Mackinaw Island
>Ferry."

Yes, I live in Royal Oak. I am going to Florida for a while. Maybe next time....
-
I had tiny nodules in my lungs too. After waiting three long months, I had another cat scan done last week. The nodules are GONE. I hope this helps to reassure you Lorie.
-
Hi All.....
Thank you Wendy for that post..just wait another 6 months and see what happens, ya know?
Okay, girlies I have the 19th free-give me a head's up where we are meeting!
Nancy..on a side note I was really happy all is well with hubby..was this the lymphoma scare??? Let me know if I can be of any help.
Looking forward to fun lunch!
Lorie -
Hi All My Michigan Sisters:
Just checking in to say I will be off of the boards for the week starting tomorrow, i.e., 1/22-1/29. I will check the boards when I get back regarding our lunch. So far I have it as Saturday, February 19th at the Olive Garden in Novi . . . is that right??? Hope all stay warm and WELL!!
Blessings to everyone,
Pat -
Pat - Sorry I didn't get this out before you left. It looks like a date - Olive Garden on 2/19 in Novi for lunch? Ok what time? Oh the little details. Have a wonderful trip.
mom2acat - good one! Love the humor.
Lori - Yes, it was the lymphoma. So far they are not finding anything and do not think he has it. He has pneumonia right now though. He took 3 days off work and then went in to work on Thursday and Friday to put in the grades. He is still sick but says no one else can do it. Luckyanna - who does that sound like???? What do I do - tie him down?
Chris - When is your one year anniversary?
Geri - You are getting married soon! Congratulations.
Judy - I didn't see your edit about Olive Garden not taking reservations until today. Some places will let you call in the morning and say you have a large group for a heads up. Maybe they do that? Let's see how many we have this time.
Ok - what happened overnight? I wasn't expecting THAT much snow! Keep warm everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting the new - members of the club.
xxxooo
Nancy -
Thanks for the good wishes Nancy, looking forward to seeing everyone again on the 19th.

Hi. My name is Shari, and I am in Southfield. Just dx. about 1 month ago. Need to have a left mastectomy. Would love to hear from anyone that has/is having.
Thanks!
Shari -
Does anyone know anyone in Michigan, from a Church, Temple or wherever, that makes Breast Cancer Bracelets? Would love to find something unique. I am Shari, 46, just dx about 1 month ago with ilc. Have to have a left mastectomy. Would love to here from you. Shariwest@aol.com

Hi. I'm Shari 46,living in Southfield, also Beaumont Dr's. Dr. Pass, and Dr. Sherbert (seeing him this wed.). I was dx. with inv. lobular dec. 28th. Planning on lumpectomy, but an mri, showed another area. Having a mastectomy hopefully next mondday. Married 15 yrs. daugher 12 1/2 and son 6 1/2. What a shocker this came to me. I found this lump. So upsetting. I am coping pretty well, if I must say. Husband has been great. Would love to chat.
Shari -
Hi Shari,
A warm welcome to you, although it would of been nicer NOT to meet here. Sounds as though you are in the beginning stages of everything and while I am not as familiar with Lobular BC; perhaps one of our Michigan sisters can help you out.
Yes, it is a scary time. You have every right to feel anxiety over this dreadful disease; but come here and spill out your worries and concerns..we will all hold you up.
Let us know how we all can help.
Lorie

Hello there 1234! (Shari), my name is Shari too! It's not very often I meet anyone who spells it that same way too.

-
Hello..it has been awhile for me to post. Made it by the one year anniversary (1/21) of finding out about this disease. Also, had a job interview on the one year...hope that is not bad luck as I am still waiting to hear about the position.
For an update...I experienced some negative feedback from my current employer of nine years...it just happened to coincide with the same six month time period that I was diagnosed, had surgery, and completed radiation. I truly felt it might be border line discrimination as it was the FIRST negative feedback I have ever had in all of my career. I have had my current boss for almost two years and I really dont like her.
Sphynx Connisue lives in Livonia. Thanks so much for compiling that list it is very interesting. I am planning to meet with everyone in a few weeks.
My husband and I are taking a vacation to the UP to see Winter Carnival at MI Tech where our daughter goes to school. Can you believe it? A vacation in the dead of winter to the north pole.
Take care all. -
Hi. This is Shari. Had my mastectomy 2 days ago. Pretty sore, still (only day 3). Had some lymph node involvement. Anyone out there using or used Royal Oak Beaumont Oncology? Have an appt. with Dr. Jeffrey Margolis. Any input on him or another group, would be greatly appreciated, ASAP. Thank you so much. Please email me. Shariwest@aol.com
-
Hi Shari:
I go to Royal Oak Beaumont for all my doctors and treatments. I have Dr. Jeffrey Margolis for my oncologist and like him very much!!!! Hope this helps.
