Well, the two Davids are my Hero's. David A. really made it his own.
Bye bye Brooke or Jason.........
Evie
-
Still casting my vote for Brooke
I play many of Andrew Lloyd Weber's music on the piano .....I do love his works..........
-
Jason did not do well but david c and david a rocked. Carly really did a good job too. I too think it will be brooke or jason.
-
Brooke or Jason are outta there, Go little David!!!!!!!!!!!! That was awesome..!!!!!!!!!!!
-
David + David were awesome!
Syesha has a career on Broadway!
Bad song choice for Jason. He's not an old cat.
Didn't love Carly. She didn't do Judas as well as the movie.
Brooke was told weeks ago that it was OK to restart a song. But it's not.
sally
-
Sally - I thought of that too, she was told before that it was okay to stop and start over, and tonight told no it wasnt, I did see her try to hold back from responding to the judges-did you?
As for Jason-I think he knew before he even sang that it was gonna be bad-and it was, in my opinion anyway. Sorry to those of you who like him!!!!
Little David was told not to close his eyes and sing because it doesn't look good, but David Cook did and it didn't matter-did anyone else notice this?
-
David Cook was fantastic.
I've seen the play "Phantom of the Opera" twice in San Francisco and no one sings like the actors but David Cook gave me goosebumps.
I was glad Andrew Weber suggested David A. stop closing his eyes when he sings.
I noticed the last weeks he sings with eyes closed the entire time.
I think it helps him remember the lyrics and be in the moment.
All singers close their eyes at some point while in the moment.
I missed Brook stopping and starting but heard the judges talk to her about it.
Tomorrow night ............A new "Lost"
-
Aurora...I just remembered the car we had before the we have now was an 'Aurora', Olds.....How about that eh?
Evie

YIKES....
Well , I thought the whole show was pretty painful..
It started out good with Syesha, darn does that girl look great!!!! Wow, if I could only look like that in that RED dress..these are the days I miss my boobies lol...She did such a sexy redition, I think she finally just didn't care and had some fun and loosened up..Good for her.
Jason was just horrible, and so very painful to watch as each part got worse. I like him but I think he just finished his run on Idol.
Brooke--oh man, I think the song was just too big for her, and after seeing her struggle, I don't know that she has much more dimension, that what she sings.
David A. did a better job than the others BUT I was thinking the same as Simon, kind of boring, and not his best. If that was the first time I was seeing him, it would be sooooo what.(Sorry I know you guys like him).
David Cook struggled a bit too, but at least he was able to finish the song the way he started it, not my favorite for him either.
Carly I think made the best choice of songs, and it was good to see her pick it up and loosen up. She was screaming a bit towards the end, showing that she really doesn't have that soft and sweet tone to her voice. I still think she had a great night for her..
It really makes you appreciate the broadway stars that can belt those songs out on stage night after night, because these kids had such a hard time with them. I don't think any of them really did the songs any justice. I usually get goosebumps with everyone of those songs---didn't happen last night.
After last night Jason should be going home, and I think he feels it too...Brooke would be my seond choice with last nights performance..
Oh gosh how quircky and odd was Andrew Lloyd Weber, they must have edited quite a bit when he was talking to the kids, because at the end of the show he was twitching all over the place, looked like he wanted to jump off the stage. You would think he would be more comfortable on stage than that...I found him a little creepy.LOL...
Hugs everyone Talk to you all soon..KLynn xoxo

I thought David Cook did another fantastic job! I loved the way he sang that song! Gave me chills just like when I watched the play.
-
David Cook actually sounded very much like the guy on the real song.
Yeah My3....what's up with that Lord Weber? He seemed very ODD to me. Couldn't imagine where that 'geniuos' comes from when he writes all these beautiful songs.
-
haha...artsee...allot of people who are genius...are very odd.
-
I had to play catchup because I've been visiting my parents. God bless Youtube.
I did catch last night's show. I'm not much into musicals so it wasn't the greatest for me.
It was a twinge painful watching David Cook singing phantom of the opera; though he did an awesome job (sorry to those who like musicals as I'm sure you really enjoyed it). But David Cook is awesome. I really hope he puts out a good album when this is done. Its all about song choice after this because many great singers put out albums that sucked because the songs felt plain and manufactured.
Anyway...
I liked Syesha this week. She has more stage presence than say Kristi Lee did. Kristi reminded me of watching someone sing at the county fair. She never knew what to do with her body during the performances. If you watch Syesha, she really knows how to work it.
And Brooke...I like the diversity they have this season. Brooke reminds me of a folk singer. She is not a pop star for sure. And yes her goofy expressions and response to criticism is a put off. Not to mention she started over again.
I didn't care for Jason Castro's performance this week. My bf just hates him (I think guys are jealous when another guy is not the tough guy type yet the ladies love him). Jason does have a nice smile and puts off a great mellow energy when he performs.
Carly did a good job. Although I'm having flashbacks to 11th grade english class when we had to watch Jesus Christ Superstar. "Whats that buzz...tell me what's a happenin..."
David A is always a breath of fresh air.
Since I'm behind, I have to say I think Kristi Lee should have went home before Michael Johns. He's so damn cute and he was just starting to come out with bigger performances.
Oh, I did think Kristi Lee did a good job on that Do it Anyway song. I think if someone worked with her she could be a good country singer.
K, I'm done....
-
I wish I could have helped Jason pick his song for last night. His choice of "Memory" was lousy. He would have been so great singing the most emotional and moving song in Jesus Christ Superstar called "Gethsemane":
-
The singers were good.......but I'm not much into Musicals so couldn't really relate to (or know) the songs. I felt kinda sorry for the kids as I'm sure it is really hard to learn and sing something you know nothing about. All in all, I'm a softee and think all did well! The two Davids are going to be around till the end, I'm sure.................just can't narrow down the girls!
Now if I could just get my DH to be quiet and quit being so opinionated and sarcastic................maybe I could enjoy the show!
Neesie
-
I loved JCS!! Gethsemane would have been a much better song for Jason.
I've seen Phantom twice ... Neesie .. you've got to see it!! And Cats twice!! Cook did a great job ... too bad he didn't have the mask on and all the mist floating around him!
-
Bren............you jarred my feeble memory.............I did see Cats! And I did see Jesus Christ Superstar.............in high school!!
Neesie
-
I think it will be down to the two Davids. Last night's performances were not my favorite but I think David Cook did very well. Brooke or Jason is gone tonight.
-
For what its worth (I've been wrong everytime lol) I think Brooke is going tonight.
I thought the whole show was lousy. Musicals???? The only one that has a remote chance of being in one is Syesha.
You ladies crack me up about Weber - I think he needs to wear the phantom mask!!! lol.

Ok, I'm in the minority here. Being a band/choir geek, I LOVE musicals. LOVE THEM.
That being said, I just watched yesterday's show a few hours ago. I thought David A. did an EXCELLENT job (cuz he's my favorite), and I thought Syesha did EXCELLENT as well! I was happy for her, because she hasn't exactly been shining yet.
I didn't like David C's rendition (I know, minority again). I thought his shriek at the end was not fitting at all. I know he was aiming to sound contemporary, but it just didn't sit well with me.
Did you guys think he sounded like Michael Crawford? Or someone else?I dunno.....it was just ah-ite for me....
Brooke forgetting the lyrics?!?!?! OMG. I know that the men judges were all, "hey, great job keeping it going," but I agree with Paula 100% (did I just say that?!?!?!). You NEVER stop and start up again. I used to tell my students "make it sound like you meant to do it and OWN your mistake!"
And Jason??!!! I love his dreamy blue eyes, but that was just embarrassing.
Ok, that whole post was because of the music teacher snob in me. I'll try to keep it down again! Sorry!
-
I love musicals too and go every year.
-
Could absolutely not believe that Carly was voted out tonight!!
-
i am shocked, the voters are voting based on looks not talent, brooke should have gone home tonight, she is a mess, she has only had one good performance on the show, grrrrr!!
carly is really good, these people do not have a clue, and i cannot stand the little kiddies screaming for david a, it's so annoying.
-
Well...didn't see that coming this week..grrrrrrrrrr.....
I thought she would be in the top 4 maybe even the top 3.....
Syesha and Jason definately deserved to go before Carly...
Syesha and Carly both had a great night last night and ended up in the bottom. I can even understand Syesha being there, because she hasn't been have great weeks..but Carly?? Too soon in my opinion.....
Until next week guys...Hugs Klynn---Again ALW very jumpy and creepy!!!!
-
Sad to say, this is becoming a popularity contest :-< Jason sang horribly, but was charming, so he gets to stay. Brooke had a false start (2nd time in the competition), but makes her human, so she gets to stay too. I thought Syesha and Carly sang better than Brooke and Jason. It's not fair to those who are truly gifted. I'm not a happy camper. Hmmphh!!
Artsee, I think I'm your missing twin sister
Night all!!!!
-
Gals:
Couldn't agree with you more about tonight's voting. Wow!! I definitley thought it would be either Jason or Brooke - oh well, I guess you never can tell!!! On to next week . . .
-
Wow. Teenage girls are the voting power. I'm sure glad Syesha didn't go home. Although she has had some so-so performances, last night she was the best.
Next week...Neal Diamond!
(Please, don't sing Sweet Caroline! Or Song Sung Blue! Or Cracklin' Rosie!)
-
Could they be picking odder "mentors"??!!
Neal Diamond, Dolly, ALW?? What happened to JLo, Gwen Stefani, Bon Jovi?
So sad that Carly left. I hummed her tune to myself the rest of the night. She was really getting better and better, I thought.
I may have to find a new favorite show next year.......this is too much for me!
-
How sad that the 'singing contest' has turned into a fan base that has totally fallen off their ' bar stools', so to speak.Wow!
What is with A. Weber's twitches? Think he's going thru chemo? Ha....
Evie
-
Last night-wow what a shocker, even though I had picked Carli to be in the bottom three I only did it to pick a third person-thought she
did far better than Brooke and Jason-but oh well, c'mon next week.....
