yeah, maybe that is it.  I think I am being plain old lazy!  Also procrastinating.  I wanted to get my tax info. together, so I could get going with that.  I will need my refund, since I will be off work for 4 wks and no pay.

I am going to go for my run (in the cold) at 7:30...hopefully then I will wake up a bit.

I love that dancin' cat too! Always makes me laugh. I picture Lilly doing it.lol Ulla , I don't like ginger either. I can of course , eat ginger cookies , but not my first or even second choice. Ulla , when I was looking up ginger and lymphodema , b12(vitamin) popped up. Have you looked into that? Might be worth a try.Ulla , I love you. Just stay home tomorrow , OK!lol I have to many bills to pay right now. Sue , however , you my dear should stay home tomorrow. Mr. Tom can take care of things.

Lisa , its to cold out to go running! Brrrrrrrr! I'd say wait till the sun is shining , but here , who knows when that will be.

Sue, remember when I first met you here?  I thought your avatar was a Mary Cassatt painting?  Haha...here you go...one of my favorite paintings of hers.  you could have been one of her models!

Mel...I dont mind running in the cold.  If I waited for warmth and sunshine....I would only be able to do it for a few months out of the year! haha.

I think you have reached a significant milestone/anniversary ...... and now you have come through it we have to make sense of it....when I had post trauma...every significant date for over ten years ...my mind would change and I would have to go the docs .... there was nothing I could do to stop the feelings.

Its a never ending journey ...I am thinking of recurrances this weekend even before chemo has finished xxx

HEY DEAR FIGHTER SUE!!!!  You are now officially a survivor and a fighter and brave.  By Edict of the man behind the curtain who gave the tin man a heart, and the scarecrow a brain and the lion courage.

SEE?  This is how it happens, all of a sudden you are not on the other side, you have officially moved over to the ones that have been there.

So have a cuppa, kiss Zippy and the boys, I am off to bed tonight, and you should be there too by now.

Hugs, Kisses, and all my love, Shirlann

Your cheeks will be rosey again Sue.  I remember how pale I looked going through chemo.  Color does return.

I do love going to art museums.  Next time I go to NYC, I want to go visit the MET again...it's been years.  Melody, I like van gough too.  I love all the impressionist artists.  My favorite it Monet!! I love his rendition with colors.  I like Renoir  and Degas as well.  Mary Cassatt is from that erra and an impressionist too.  She almost always painted women and children, I think that is why I love her art so much.

Mel, maybe you are having flash backs.  It has to be part of the process.  I am sure that it's normal, don't you think?  I think that is part of the way I have been feeling lately too.  Two days from now, is when my lump was found.  It is allot to take in, and the memories.....ewwwwwwwwwww.

Sue, I hope your sleeping by now.

My run went well.  It was not as cold as I thought.  I got hot and sweaty!! PeeeeeeUUUUUUUUUUU..haha.

Hi Lisa , glad you had a good run. Yeah  , I took the trash out and its not as cold as I thought it would be. Boy , our diagnosis was around the same time. I think it was the 26th when they found it on the ultra sound. Then Feb.16 was my biopsy and the 20th I got the call. I then came here. I was so terified and Shirlann was here for me. God bless her.xxx

Our timeline is very simular.  I went and had the ultrasound and mammo, and met the surgeon all in early Feb., not sure of the date.  When I talked with her, and she did her exam, I asked her opinion...and she told me without the biopsy she couldn't say, but I made her tell me what she thought, and she said, she thought it was cancer.  Then I had the biopsy, and met with the surgeon on March 6th....oh...how I remember that numbness!  I came here, sometime before I found out for sure.  I could not post, I could not even hardly read some of what was here.  It all freaked me out so badly.  I never came back again until November!

I am glad you found Shirlann and she helped you so.

This is a tough time Mel...Cry

Your welcome Mel. I am glad I came her too.  I guess my timing was right, coming here when I did. I am so greatful for all of you as well.  I think about all of you, and consider you all part of my circle of friends.

It's funny, since I am alone, this forum and all of you...keep me company.

My diagnosis..funny you ask.  You know, I never really knew all the particulars like everyone else did.  I knew that it wasn't  a really bad kind to have, and I knew that it was treatable.

But, I looked on my pathology report and mine is very simular to yours.

DCI & IDC, Grade 2, ER+/PR+, HER2-.  I am not sure about the stage??

Well, I'm too late again.  Nighty night everyone.  Hope you're all resting peacefully.

I ordered a "Chillow" pillow today.  A friend of mine from another thread mentioned that she bought one and that it came highly recommended on the Susan Koman website.  You put water in it and it stays cold so you don't have to turn the pillow all the time or shift your head to find a cool spot when you're having night sweats.  Can't wait to get it.  It's crazy how much heat radiates out of the top of my head when I'm having hot flashes!  I'm going to die when all my hair grows back!

It snowed a bit tonight.  Maybe we'll have a snow day tomorrow.  I have an appt with the onc, so my SIL may have to come get me in her Suburban.

    Love to you all,

    Karen

The waiting is the hardest for everyone, not to say that we've all went through it so it does sound like to a new person we all have been there. But lady nows when you get it in your mind that the fight is on.  I've had double mast. 8 surgeries, chemo, my lung colasped when they put my port in, mine was stage 4 and in 17 limp nodes then 3 mths. later in other breast. I'm new here to this sight, but how I got through it all was 1 loving hubby, and I'm a big outdoors person i hunt and fish and I kept telling all my docs. they were messing up my hunting and fishing time.If anyone wants to know the whole story tell me where to go on here ok.

Ulla, Ulla, Ulla! I wish I could post a happy dance picture but I haven't worked out how to do it yet so I will just have to stand up right now and do one for you...............There! I just did one! Congratulations beautiful girl on finishing chemo! I know you still feel quite sick but it will get better. Big hugs!

Mel - I think your hair looks great! And I think it should be very encouraging for the girls whose hair hasn't grown back yet to see how thick and lustrous it is!

And I haven't seen any fat people in any of the lovely photos so stop it everyone - you are all lovely! Why are we so hard on ourselves? Men get beer bellies and poke them out proudly and pat them! If we put on a few pounds we agonise over it! I haven't been game to post any photos of myself here - partly because I am not sure how to and partly because I hate photos of myself! I would so love to lose 20 pounds.

I quite like ginger tea with lemon but if you hate the taste it wouldn't be very nice to have to force yourself to drink it. Also, I am not sure where our fresh ginger is grown but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's from China and there has been so much publicity in the media about pesticides being at very toxic levels in Chinese grown produce.

Sue and Ulla - your sore arms - so sorry you have this to suffer with as well. Have you been diagnosed with lymphedema or is it post surgical edema? Even though edema is painful and annoying doesn't necessarily turn into LE. Mine has flared up the last few days too and is painful and feels bulky. Have been massaging it but nobody can massage like my wonderful p/t and my next appointment isn't for a couple of weeks yet.

The anniversary of my dx is coming up too - Feb 26. I remember thinking I could see a shadow on my right breast this time last year. (I had bleeding from it for about 18 months and my docs were keeping an eye on it. I had a needle biopsy but it was benign. It was my left breast which had cancer all through it - lucky for me it hadn't infiltrated but I was told it almost certainly would have.

Cold packs are absolute necessities! I keep them in the freezer/ice box and whip them out as soon as I get a hot flash. I put one on my head, one around my neck and one on my back and suck ice cubes at the same time. At night I just lie there and sweat!

Everyone is asleep now. Hope you all have a restful night.

    love,

    jane. xxx

My husband doesn't even want to talk about it. He tells me to do what I want. I asked him to look at some reconstruction pictures and now HE needs therapy!Sigh....know what I think? All men are pussies. No wonder women have babies, men couldn't handle it.(Come to think of it,the past 26 years I've been in medicine there hasn't been ONE man that wasn't a baby in the ER.And I'm talking about the flu...nothing serious like what we women go through) As for the men that leave their wives after mastectomy.....what about the men that have testicular cancer? You don't see THEIR wives leaving them.

    Good morning sisters.

Sorry we missed you Karen.  I was planning on getting back on, then fell asleep.

Jane...post some pics.  We would love to put a face with the name!  You told us to stop being so hard on ourselves, so don't you be hard on yourself either. We all want to lose weight.  Don't you wish it could happen overnight?

Karen, I hope you get enough snow, that Chase can go out sledding, or make snow angels!!

Well, I have allot to accomplish on this day off work.  I just hope I find the motivation.  Feeling tired, and I just woke up!  Also feeling stuffy in my head.  This weather doesn't help.

Love to all my girls..Sue, Mel, Shirlann, Jane, Lucy, Val, Karyll, Ulla, Valsul, Mia, Wren..and anyone I may have missed.  Have a great day!!

Cyndy...I am sorry your husband is not supportive of you and what you are going through. I couldn't agree more about them being weak.  Women definately are the stronger sex.  I know what it's like not having a supportive husband.  Mine left after my first chemo tx.

I hope you can talk to him and he opens up.

    xoxo

As usual you ladies have been very busy!!!

Well, my shopping trip was successful.  Didn't find any jeans but I bought 3 pairs of dress slacks for $30.00!!!  I saved $150.00!!  I was very proud of myself.lol

Ulla - so glad to see you back.  How wonderful you will finally have a friend from home in Sweden. As far as the lymphdema, I'm sorry I can't help but I do remember reading to avoid hot baths & hot tubs.  Can you see if you can speak to a doctor that specializes it in??  Do you have a sleeve??

Lisa - have a great day off- OMG-  your picture of Johnny Depp makes my heart beat faster.  He is sooooooooo gorgeous.

Well, gotta get back to work,

Lisa - they just opened up a new outside shopping mall in my town that has an Ann Taylor, Chico's, Black &White, Clarks, those kinda stores.  But my big score was in Coldwater Creek - I love that store.  Did you ever shop with them?? I know they have a catalog.

OMG - Johnny Depp - what can I say???? Kiss I never saw Finding Neverland.  I will definitely check it out.  Did you see Edward Scissorhands or Chocolate (sp)????

I get their catalog.  But I have never ordered from CC.  I get emails from them all the time.  I can't quite afford their prices.  I love Ann Taylor Loft!!

Yes...I have seen AS and Chocolate!  Loved Choc!  Olivia was afraid of ES..for years after she saw it..haha.  She was little then.  I am not a fan of Pirates of the Carrib....I just don't like pirate movies.  But I know he was remarkable in those too.  You need to rent Finding Neverland...you will enjoy it!  I love the story of Peter Pan.  But this is different..it's about James Barry, the author.
