Wow Lisa that really amazing!
It must give you real conformation that she is smiling down on you now. -
Sorry if this is a bit crass but going along with the current man slamming I though it appropriate
Why were men created?
Because Vibrators can't mow the lawn!
It tickled me anyway..
Hi Lucy!! Great to hear from another Lucy, Where you call Lucy lastic too ? -
Hi Lisa , my post to Ulla was a pic of flowers that says get better soon. But the one you post that said to me and all the animal loving sisters , I can't see just the upgrade to pro today bandwidth exceeded. I wonder whats going on... I can still see the one I post to Ulla...
-
Lisa , love the pic of your mom. I'm sure you miss her so much. She is an angel watching over you.xxxx
-
Mel, that is weird. The pic was of a little piggy with a bunny and a kitten and I think a little bird or duck on the pig's head. It was very cute. I found it on photo bucket. I was trying out your instructions on how to post things like that.
Jane, Lucy and Mel, thanks for your comments about my dear Mother. She was and is an angel. A very giving and loving woman, who after 4 years (can't beleive it's been that long) I still miss desperately.
I have to tell you about this photo. My younger brother took it, and he is an athiest. But, when he saw it in his digital and then printed it, HE too was a bit taken back by the rays and the hallo's! All of us kids have this picture in our homes. The hallos...for me represent, one for her, and the small one off to the left, for her twin sister who died as an infant. The photo still amazes everyone when they see it. Her passing was loving and peaceful with all of her children, a few grandchildren around her.
I miss her so. I know she is watching over me. In fact, Christmas 2006, just a month before my lump was found, most of the pics that I was in, had an orb (not sure if you all believe in that) in the pic right near me. Some of them, you can actually see the outline of facial features! Anyhow, I was a little freaked wondering why the orbs were in pics with me. Olivia said, "well Mom, you hosted Christmas Eve, and this was always Baba's (grandma's) special holiday, she is just saying, thanks..and I love you". That sounded good, but I felt that she was saying..."hey come be with me" and it scared me. It made me think allot about how I had been feeling. So when I wasn't feeling good again at the end of January...I went to the doctor, which is something I didn't do very often! Now, I think it was her way of saying...please go take care of yourself!
I also believe she led us to the wonderful loving family that adopted Matthew! We only were looking at books of couples who did not have children. We wanted to give them something they could never experience. SOMEHOW Matthew's parents book slipped in amongst the others. They already had a son of their own. I didn't want to even look at theirs. But something, along with my oldest daughter kept saying, please look at their book. I did, and the rest is history!!
Sorry to go on and on. I guess I am so greatful for the miracles in my life, that I wanted to share them!
I trust in Gods goodness.
Lucy...love the joke!! Very true!! haha.

Mornin' Ladies -
Haven't been around much and boy did I miss allot.
Lisa, the pic of your MOM is just phenomenal. I so believe in all of what you said. Years back, DH & I got into a bad car wreck- truck flipped over a couple times. did a few 360's and finally landed on it side. We crawled out threw the broken windshield - anyway, just as we were starting to spin I heard a voice say - "it's going to be Ok, just go with it". So, from that point on I felt like I was on a amusement ride. DH & I both walked away with a few scratches. I remember the ambulance driver after seeing the truck say to the cop - "are there any survivors". I truly believe we had a guardian angel watching over us that night.
By the way, congrats on calling the cops on your deadbeat ex. I hope it works.
Where is our Ulla? Its been days now. I'm starting to worry. Ulla, even if you feel crappy just post an "I am here".
Sue, I hope you are sleeping the day away. Aunty Em says you need your rest!!
Gotta run, a bff is coming over today. We're doing lunch and a little retail therapy. Must go an straighten the house a bit.
Hugs,
Valerie

Hi Auntie Em and Lisa. AE , retail therapy and lunch with your bff is the best , isn't it?! And Lisa , I love the pic , that says it all. Yes , it for be fabulous to all be together at a beach. One of my favorite places ever.
Oh Lisa , My hair is so wild!!! I washed it and tried a palmde(msp) on it. Yuck! Its a desaster! I don't want to cut it yet , but it is so curly and wild! I usually blow dry and put a wax/glue on it. but nothing seems to control it. I think I'll take a pic and show you. You all need a good laugh!lolxx...

Got a minute before I hop in the shower.............
Mel - NOBODYS hair is worse then mine!!! I tried the pomade (sp) as well, it helps a bit. I just don't know what to do with it. I hate it. I was looking at pics yesterday of me before bc and I started tearing up. I look sooo different now. Actually, today I'm shopping for new jeans, all the ones I have don't fit anymore - seems I've gone up a size.
I hate bootface.

HELP ME!!
-
Oh g/f, I can relate to the "gone up a size"! I hate bootface too!
Mel, do send me a pic...it can't be that bad is it? I don't really like mine, but I do think that having it "shaped up" by my hairdresser, made a difference in trying to style it. I use that Garnier fructise, clear, almost like a baby oil for shine and straightening, then I comb it, blow it dry with my fingers straightening the back and smoothing down the front. I finish it off with the GF paste. It's pretty thick. Look at that pic I posted with Matthew, it's not the greatest but it is working for now.
I miss my old self, hair, body, face (less the 100's of lines and wrinkles)
I recommend a trim Mel....I know you don't want too, but I think it will help. What about putting in some curling gel, and going curly? I have done that once or twice. I am actually feeling I need another little trim..haha..but I will wait. I won't be going out in public for quite some time.
Send me that pic Mel...if not on here...email it to me...

Mel!!!! What is the problem??? Honestly....I think it looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously...and I am not just saying that. I know you are not used to curls..neither am I...but that looks, tame, and styled...really!!
Your hair is longer than mine! Did you put color on?
I REALLY LIKE IT!! STOP IT....IT LOOKS GOOD, REALLY GOOD!!
-
AE...If I remember your other pics posted....the only difference I see is your hair. You still look good and thin..darn you..haha.
I love the flowers..what was the occasion?
-
Me - about 6 months after rads
-
I get so frustrated because I have no real style. Its all one curly length!
AND , let me cheer you all up. when I was at the docs Tues. I have gained 20lbs since last Feb at diagnosis!!!!!!! I feel like sewing my lips shut!
-
Mel...we are all in that same darn boat!! I went on Thursday to my breast surgeon...they weighed me..and after 2 months of running 3-4 times a week (3 miles a day) and trying to eat healthy and less...I lost...get this...1 FLIPPIN POUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so upset! My surgeon said, yes but u know muscle weighs more than fat, you are builidng muscle..and I know all that...I used to weight train, and run races...but gosh when the scale says...1LB...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I am in allot of my old clothes...but I still have a way to go!
I like you Mel, need to lose 20lbs...10 would be great....but my goal after surgery...is 20!
WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER!!
It's hard to have much of a style with our short curly hair...but I honestly think it looks really cute on you!!
-
I want this hair back , now! No curls , unless I want to put curls in it!
-
Mel - your hair looks great!! At least it has some shape to it - not like my mess.
Lisa - the occasion was a party I had for my DH's 50th birthday & 5 year cancer free mark! My birthday is 12 days before his so my SIL got me the flowers. It was a great party ALL his relatives came from all over the US and I even found some friends of his that he hadn't seen in about 20 years.
Can yoi believe a year later I was dx???
Gotta run, have a great day.
Valerie
-
Yep - 20 lbs for me as well.
So what am I doing today - going to TGIF's for lunch!!!!
AE
-
and I want this hair back!! same as you Mel...only curl it beacause I want too!
-
Have fun AE!! Where is your hubby from?
gosh...I hate all of those gosh darn symbols!! lol
-
((((((((LISA))))))))))) Thanks for all your encouraging words. I'm just having a "I'm fat , have ugly hair and hate myself day"!lol
AE , how much weight did you gain? You really don't look that different from before. Is your hair curly too? Maybe we do need to go get a trim or maybe they have a product that would help. I'm just not use to having no control over my hair. I'll get over it... Yes Lisa , I dyed it about 6 wks ago. It still wet in the back in the pic. Its called pomogante red. I bought a darker red for the next time i do it. But now I'm thinking lighter might be better...
-
Mel....when I am recouping...and able to drive...we have to get together for lunch!! We can commiserate about our hair!!
-
Lisa , I love that pic of you. You are so beautiful.
