Okay ladies, I like football but I'm having a ruff time on the sidelines this year. My baby who is 14 yrs 6'3" 185 lbs and a freshman is playing on the varsity squad. He gets creamed every game as he's a tight end reciever. I find myself pacing the sidelines. We are only 3 of 8 games in and I'm not sure my heart can take it! For those mothers who's son's are playing pop warner this is what we get for all those Saturday's.

Go "Pat's" yes Belachek is a fool for cheating!

OK - life REALLY sucks for us Jets fans for sure! I went to Target today and all the Jets stuff - pom-poms, beverage holders, seat cushions, all of it - was on CLEARANCE!

    Sigh...

Sorry, Felicia.  That must be pretty disappointing.

I am still recovering from the world series (yes, I was at the parade), but now, my attention is turning to the Patriots.  Today's game against the Colts will really show their mettle.  I am with Jennid1.  4:15 can't come soon enough.  I have a hole in my life now that baseball season is over, I am so used to watching a game every night.Smile

ADK I also have a hole in my heart not that baseball season is over. If the Phillies couldn't win, I'm glad my 2nd favorite bosox did!

I used to be a bigger football fan-- Colts and Eagles. I still do 4 different football fantasy teams (and baseball too). I haven't gotten to see many of the colts games since they aren't televised here all the time and the eagles suck this year. I'm so over Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid. I actually like Dallas this year for the first time ever because of Tony Rommo. I like San Diego too. I dislike Denver and root for whoever is playing them.

Being a Giants fan, I detest the Cowboys - and always have (although half my relatives are Dallas fans). I am so, so sorry they beat the Eagles last night.

As a Jets fan, I have never liked the Dolphins (so glad they have a worse record than the Jets!!) and the Patriots (I really, REALLY dislike Tom Brady; what is up with that half helment he wears?!?), although I love the Colts. Yep, I was throwing (soft) objects at the TV yesterday during the Pats v. Colts game...

    Too....depressed...to...even...type...

The Giants lost to the Cowboys (the ridicule I'll experience from my family as a result isn't even funny) AND my beloved Colts lost to the Chargers yesterday! (Wouldn't want to be Vinateri for any amount of money in the world this morning...).

The lone bright spot was the fact that the Jets were off and didn't play...

    Okay Girls,

I need a double breast removal and I do want to have until after the Superbowl which is Feb 3rd.  I love football, and college football, and even though MI lost against OH for the 4 straight time we will have a new coach next year so that is good.  Have seen the raiders play twice once in Baltimore, MD in 2006 and in 1990 in Los Angeles.  since I reside in VA I do follow the redskins even though they lost to Dallas today.

Today is a happy day: the Jets won - and so did the Giants! Whoo-Hoo! Both were nail bitters that came right down to the last few minutes (Jets even went into OT - blast them!), but wins are wins and we'll take what we can get...

Is anyone else THRILLED that Miami won a game! I was hoping they wouldn't have to go all season without a win! I like the under dogs and cinderella teams.

I renounced being a fan of the colts after I became aware of Tony Dungy's homophobic beliefs. I can't root for a team like that, but still like Peyton. Dungy's best friend, Lovie Smith has similar religious beliefs but has a much more open stance.

I made the playoffs in my fantasy team, I'm seated 2nd (out of the 4 in the playoffs). I won the superbowl last year. My other team isn't doing so well, I go between 10 and 11 out of 20 but that team doesn't have playoffs.

I am, Amy. And since the Jets and Dolphins are in the same conference, I am usually not a Miami fan, but what a good game! I was cheering rather loudly when they won in overtime.

Hate to be a Ravens fan, though...

I unfortunately didn't get to see the Miami game, it wasn't shown here, but I followed it and the other games I didn't see on yahoo sports. At least the Ravens have a few wins in their pocket, even though I'm sure their legacy of being the first in 14 teams for Miami to beat didn't feel very good.

Traci I have Tony Romo on all 3 of my fantasy teams, so I was quite disappointed with his play. The sports anchor on the news cast started with something about Tony Romo having one thing the Eagles didn't, Jessica Simpson, but unfortunately for him, that was the only thing he had that the eagles didn't. I think the Cowboys didn't take the eagles seriously enough and TO's comments just gave them a little more incentive. Though I'm usually an eagles fan I rooted for the Cowboys because I think a regime change is needed here.

It doesn't matter to me who wins.  I just don't want it to be the Pats.  I am so tired of how great they are.

Why does everyone dislike the Patriots so much?  I do have a hard time understanding this.  The NE fans suffered through years of a drought - before 2001, the last time the Patriots had gone to the Superbowl was 1985 and they were beaten badly by the Bears.  In the late 90's the team was purchased by the Kraft family who were fans first, then investors.  Mr.Kraft did everything he could to build up the team and now we are seeing the fruits of his efforts.  Did people feel this way about Miami when they were doing so well?  The Pats are about to do something that is historic.  Does it seem that's it's unfair for NE to have a dynasty going?  Yes, Belichick is a tad odd, but we embrace offbeat behavior.  The 2004 Red Sox were "just a bunch of idiots" by their own definition.  We could have a triple this year, the Red Sox, the Pats and the Celtics.  I think that might never have happened before.  Until 2001, NE didn't have a championship team since the Celtics in the mid 80's and before that, it was the Bruins in the 70's.  It had been quite a drought and now we are enjoying it.  The tide will turn as it always does, and we will look back on this time as a great time in NE sports.

I respect the Chargers for their efforts yesterday.  As beaten up as they were, they gave us a game and if the Pats perform at the same level in the Superbowl, they will not win it.  What the Giants did yesterday was also pretty amazing.  We met the Giants just 4 weeks ago, and it was quite a game.  I think the Superbowl will be a great game. JMHO

I just can't stand Brady. He really bothers me for some strange reason. Plus I'm a Jet fan, so I despise everyone in their division, including the Dolphins and the Bills (although I love the Colts!)...

But was that Giant/Green Bay game great or what?!? The Giants are known for nearly sending their fans into cardiac arrest - and last night was certainly no different - but, man! What a game!!

And you're right, Anne, about the last Pats/Giants game. Hoping the Super Bowl will be just as good - but with a different outcome, lol. Go Big Blue!
