FOOTBALL my favorite time of year

Again, my point was that Eli isn't the only player to opt out after being picked by a team in the draft. It happens EVERY YEAR. That his last name is Manning and that he came to NY made it as high profile as it was.
-
Well you're right, Felicia. Football is big business, and every player is in it with (or without) their agent for themselves. So no worries, here.
I loved the big NY Giant picture Gina. Thanks. It made me smile, as I still am avatar unsavy.
Well, we all finally settled on Italian Subs from the local Italian store for our food. They are so well known and busy today that we had to place the order this a.m.
Anyway, here's hoping its just a great, well played, well called game. And that no one gets physically seriously hurt. I always notice I'm on pins and needles during games, thinking about those spines.
Pre-game must start soon. Have fun everyone.

Anne, hysterical joke...although I know there are people who really are that rabid.
Negotiating his way out of that draft commitment wasn't Eli's classiest move, but Felicia is right...football is business first. College football (my first love--Go Gators!) is pretty much the same. Sad, but a fact of life.
Here's hoping for an exciting, close game...with the Giants on top. Enjoy!

Super Bowl TV
Budweiser commercials outstanding!
Bridgestone with squirrel in the road priceless!
Game so far ~ ho hum
To be continued
-
Half time show rockin
Sub's have been eaten
Boys now rough housing
And Giants not taking a beating!
Tender -
Giants a head. Yippie. Just keep the lead.
I loved the black lab lapping up the bowl of power water with drool and all.
Game now. Nail biter

I'm disgusted.
I've had enough of the Patriots.
-
Giants might have wanted to go for the third and one (yard) instead of done the kick giving the Pats the ball.
Not a pro active posture, which we bc ladies know is the best way to advocate.
Now it's up to Manning!

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW they did it!
-
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa!

WOW!!!! What a great game!! I was rooting for NY 'cuz I always root for the underdogs, but my hat's off to New England for a really great, classy game!
(And the ads were great too, especially the baby spitting up!!)
Anne -
Congratulations to the NEW YORK GIANTS~
-
Congratulations to all the Giants fans. I'm totally bummed, but it was a great game. I agree with Anne, I usually root for the underdog and it was a little disconcerting to be rooting for the favorite. The Giants did amazingly well. I swear God was watching out for them. I mean really that Hail Mary pass that was caught? I felt then, even though the Patriots were ahead at that time, we weren't meant to win this one. You guys did great. Maybe next year. I still have hope for the Celtics.
-
And congratulations to the great Patriots, and their fans here and far. They had an incredible season. The 42nd Superbowl was a wonderfully played game, clean, good coaching, no serious injuries, and lots of nail biting fun.
Thanks for watching with us, and let's do this again next year. -
I am so excited that it was Manning's 2 years in a row. I come from the land of Colts. We even cheered for the Giants in our Family Worship service today. I think it is anyone, but the Pats in Indiana.

Well, good for NY!! It really was a good game for once! No blow out!
And the Fed EX commercial was the BEST.
My dh and I discussed Eli dissing SD on the draft. My opinon is that dear dad had a lot to say since he'd already been there and done that with a team that wouldn't "buy" enough good players to make a good team. I would guess that those in the biz know who and what the owners and managers are willing to put up for a team to make it worthwhile. You know, the inside scoop that most players have no idea about.
-
Woohoo, Giants! This was everything a Super Bowl should be...a close game, and a fight to the finish.
I'm watching the commercials on YouTube...no commercials shown here. Of the ones I've seen so far, I like the one for Pepsi Max.
Sigh...except for the Pro Bowl, a long football drought coming up. Congrats to all Pats and Giants fans for a great season! I've never seen Tom Coughlin smile so much; might need reconstructive surgery on his face. :-)

Sahalie...
What a cute picture of Eli...thanks!

Did y'all hear that Brady wouldn't shake Eli's hand at the beginning of the game as is usually done. Eli extended his hand and Brady just turned away.
I was soooooo happy for the "gints" and for Eli. What a perfect ending. I love the underdogs.
Why do people hate the patriots... maybe it's because they cheated by taping other teams hand signals and never even apologized....maybe it's because they acted like winning was inevidible (channeling Hillary) and owed to them.. maybe it's because it's just time for someone else.
-
Hi All,
Just my 2 cents worth...I hate football but was very happy one of our local boys (Eli Manning from New Orleans) was in the big game and won! YEA!!
