FOOTBALL my favorite time of year

Okay, I have to share this w/ you girls.
Friday morning when I was driving to work, the radio here in CT announced that Gisele was going to be at the game; I got such a sick feeling in my stomach, like I had just been punched... and I thought to myself... go w/ your "gut" feelings. (We all know what happened w/ Romo and the "blond ambition"!!!! It is the girlfriend curse!)
So on Sunday, when Bill (who was at the Super-ball) called me and asked me who I was putting my $ on I said, the GIANTS! (I told him what happened on Friday on my way to work).
Well sure enough, even thou I would have been happy with 19-0, the GIANTS remind me of home, so I was so thrilled that their defense held on tight and did an awesome job in stopping the Brady attack!
Go GIANTS... SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS. HURRAY FOR THE UNDER-DOGS!
-
Ouch PRAmy,
You really know how to kick some one when they are down.
Lilia, I agree with you - I had a pit in my stomach when they said she was going to be there and when they showed her on camera, I really felt ill.
-
What an incredible game! Two words sum it up, though: David Tyree. Still can't believe Eli got away to throw that pass and David actually caught it - and hung onto it!
Hats off to the Giant defensive line! They were getting to Brady like no other team has all season long! Big ups to defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo!
This was one of the tightest and best football games I've ever seen. What a game!! Glad big blue handled their business!
edited to add: I agree about the girlfriend curse. When I saw Giselle, I thought "oh no!!" - the same as when they do the shot of the bench in basketball: kiss of death, I tell ya. Course, it could have also been that sweatshirt of Belichik's... -
We are blaming that sweatshirt, too. Nah, they were outplayed and I am happy for you Felicia, you have stuck by the Giants for a long time. How are the conversations going with the rest of the family who are Dallas fans? You have the last word and it is "Superbowl Champs".
-
I am a huge Steelers fan, but congrats to the Giants--they worked hard and deserved to win. Although Plaxico is cocky, I was glad for him. He used to be a Steeler and a hometown guy, but I think he has found his spot in NY. Glad B&B ( belichek and brady) finally got shown their place!
-
LOL, Anne. The Cowboy contingent of the family hasn't spoken to me about gridiron stuff since Dallas got their butts handed to them last month. Funny, 'cause they were plenty noisy when the Giants lost to Dallas twice during the regular season...
But, still, the Pats had a helluva season! Proud to have been in the game with them)...
And sflow, I think "cocky" and "wide receiver" go together like peanut butter and jelly... -
That was quite a game! I too got a pit in my stomach when I saw Gisele and Belichick's red shirt. What's up with that? You wear the same cut off sweatshirt all year and you change to something different NOW?
The Pats had a great season and it sure was a huge crash last night when they lost. (I had to take an ativan to get to sleep, lol). But the Giants played the better game and they deserved to win. Congrats to the Giants fans!
Now it's time for me to go through my usual withdrawel until baseball season starts...ugh!

In case you missed the commercials:

(sorry, but as my browser won't let me hot link you'll have to copy and paste)
My favorites: Budweiser Fire breather, the Doritos mouse and the Tide stain remover. Ha! Funny stuff... -
Lynn,
I took today off from work and figured I get a lot done. {sigh} I've sat on the couch all day watching court shows and I'm so down, I haven't even showered yet. I should go do that, but it seems like too much effort. It is surprising how crushing this defeat was.
The Celtics still have the best record in basketball. I think I will turn to them for comfort until April.

Does this work?
-
Anne, I'm sorry you're down, but, you're right, the Celtics are on fire (I've always loved Kevin Garnett
)!
I'll humbly bow out until after the NBA playoffs (obviously there is no hope for the lowly Knickerbockers) - but I'll see you in April, OK?!?
Chin up, buckaroo... -
Thanks, Felicia. Enjoy the celebrations!!!!!
-
Darn... forgot the commercial!
My favorite was the GPS one, where a little red car is making lefts and rights without missing a beep all over the place in a "foreign" country, but we see no driver!!!!
It finally arrives at a battle field and who comes out???!!! Napoleon Bonaparte w/ his GPS in hand.
The line of white horses is powerful and then Bonaparte's horse comes out, a little white pony! LMAO!
The remainder...okay... nothing that really got my tummy going as in belly laugh!
And by the way, since day one my picks were the Steelers, saw them at the Pike Market in Seattle on my 40th BD w/ Pepper, the Giants and the Patriots (saw them at the Gillette Stadium this year)... not too bad, ahm, for a girl that knows almost nothing about American football besides the fact that those tights are might yummy looking!
-
Anne,
I feel your pain, I'm crushed too, but we'll move on and get all excited about next year.
I'm not a huge basketball fan like I am baseball and football, but I guess I can give it a try!
NbN, lol about the tights. We went to a couple games at Gillette Stadium, but our seats were too high up in the nose bleed section to get a good glimpse of the boys closeup!
-
I'm really into March Maddness---college hoops, mens and women's. Now if we could just get the men back into the short shorts!!! instead of those long SKIRTS and baggy tops-------
GO VOLS AND LADY VOLS-------
