Lisa3boys - hope your treatment goes smoothly today. I know how some of them just get tougher to go to - I can sure relate, hon. I'll be thinking of you. Yes, my renal rock is a kidney stone - still lodged in the kidney. They've got me in on an emerg. appointment in Urology this afternoon. For some reason, they say they can't do the shockwave therapy on this thang and I sure do not want yet another surgery. I'm ticked about it because my kidneys are one organ that has always worked great; I've always kept well hydrated, eat a balanced, low-sodium, no red-meat diet, etc. Now chemo has to go and do this. harumph.
LisaStarfish - we know Sardina's opens by one, we were just concerned whether their football crowd on a Sunday would make for an atmosphere where we could be our chatty selves.
Have you ever been there on a Game Day?
Lisa
-
Hi, Lisa SDCA -
No, now that you mention it I've never been there on a Sunday. Hmmm...where else could we go?
Rancho's in O.B.?
Any other ideas?
-
How about a Marie Callendar's or something like that? I only know of those in North County though. Carmel Mt, Carlsbad or Escondido. Does anyone like Greek? Do you know of a good Greek eatery? Macaroni Grill is great but usually crowded for lunch. I only know of the of the one at North County Fair. Sure to be busy on a Sunday afternoon. Just some ideas.
-
Hi..I am back...my Mom left this afternoon...
there is a Marie Callenders at
5405 Balboa Ave
San Diego, CA 92111-2701, US -
SoCal-Welcome back lady. Glad you had a nice visit with your mom.
Last time I was at that Marie Callenders I don't think it was very nice. Have you been there?
Come on you guys. Someone has got to know of somewhere down there. If you all want to come to North County I can think of lots of places.

Brenda:
GREAT Greek food at Athena's in Pacific Beach.
-
Athena's sounds good to me
-
Athena's has my vote too.
-
Hi honeys, I am okay with the 9th, just let me know where. I got a new little kitty, so much fun, but a very pissed off dog! haha
Hugs, Shirlann -
Shirlann: So funny! What's the kitty's name?
-
Cafe Athena in PB sounds great! They are open on Sundays, and hey, Melia, - it's not Mission Valley! They take reservations, so we'll need a head count.
Lisa3boys - are you ready to surface again from that tx. on Monday? Or maybe not. Day #5 is frequently the worst. I'm thinking of you, hon.
LisaStarfish - are you going to the BCSurvivor Open House on Sat.12/8? I am, and was hoping to see your familiar face.
Friends, could I ask for prayers, good thoughts, positive vibrations - whatever you'd like to send. My CT scan I had in the ER on Thanksgiving besides showing the excitement in my kidneys, also mentioned in the report "sclerotic and lucent changes seen in the pelvic bones and lumbar spine" of unknown etiology. I mentioned this to my surgeon when I saw him on Wed. because I could think of no good reason for me to have any lucency at all in my pelvic bones. He agreed it was of concern, but felt he could not speak with any authority and to get myself over to my oncologist's, down one floor. So I did, and of course they were closed up for lunch. So I left a note and he got back to me yesterday. He also agreed it was of some concern but wanted to meet with the radiologist and see the specific films and meanwhile I had to go get tumor markers drawn. Those durn things take three to five days of waiting. If they are elevated I'm in deep doo-doo. So I'm concentrating on low markers, low markers, low markers!
Also on the biopsy the the surgeon took Wednesday from my right underarm area - fat necrosis, fat necrosis, fat, fat, fat! That biopsy result should be in today.
It seems like it is always something doesn't it!
Lisa

P.S. Shirl, you just go tell that poor neglected Whippet that he can come visit at Aunt Lisa's house where we don't have none of dem stinkin' cats!

Do I sound excited to see you all again? WELL I AM!

-
Hi, girls. Brenda--yes, I've got chemo next Thursday, so will be down for the count on Sunday. Hope you guys have a great time, and I will hope to make lunch after the new year.
LisaSDCA--I saw your posts about the suspicious CT--good thoughts coming your way for it to be nothing.

My new kitten is named Cleo, if I wasn't such a dunce, I would post a pix. But without Fumi, I can't DO that! Darn it.
I will be at Athena's, can't wait.
Well, Dusty is playing the role of "I'm too good to be bothered", the kitty hides, then pounces on Dusty, which makes him even more pissed. Last night, Dusty was under the covers next to me in bed, and the cat walked right over him and curled up under my neck. One very unhappy dog!
haha, oh well, sometimes life sucks.
Hugs, Shirl -
Hi, Lisa SDCA,
Yes, Gabri and I will both be at the BC Survivors thing. Glad you will be there too!
(Kinda bummed actually...they just cut my funding, and my lat flap/implant surgery doesn't happen until 2/21
)
-
Shirlann-I used to have a cat named Cleo. Cleopatra and Mark Anthony were their whole names. They were both very black cats.
-
Can't wait to see you, Brenda, this cat is black with 4 white feet and a white sorta necklace and belly. She had a totally black face but white whiskers. I will try and get a pix.
See you soon, hugs, Shirlann -
Hi everyone,
So much happens when you don't check in here. Yes, I plan to be there Sunday - can't wait and I love Greek food - yeah!
LisaSDCA - I am so sending you positive thoughts. Don't you just look up to God and say "enough already."
I am fairing well with this chemo. I had my AC a week ago and I already feel fine, except for my cold, bald head. I feel kind of yucky the first couple of days, but those steroids help to keep me a little pumped up, but days 3 and 4 I'm down (but not out). Then I start to regroup. The AC seems easier to me than the Xeloda and Taxotere combo they had me on last time. I even went to the gym yesterday and hope to continue on a couple of times a week during my "good weeks" between infusions. Besides, the lymphedema specialist said losing weight would make a difference with the lymphedema, so I'm a hungry, steroidal, hormonal (soon to be menopausal) woman on a mission.
See you all Sunday,
Lisa

Hello friends =
My lump in the axilla area did turn out to be fat necrosis
(and about 65-80cc of a seroma behind it- no wonder that breast had beeen feeling so tight and heavy!)
Then finally today my onc. called with the results of my tumor markers. They came in at 17. One Seven. The lowest they have ever been! Woooohah! I am so not worrying over my pelvis anymore. I don't even care what the CT scan said - I'm calling it a 'radiologic artifact'.
I feel so grateful for all the prayers said on my behalf across the country. I feel so strong and healthy.
Now if I could just get rid of this durn kidney stone. But hey, I'll live through that!
Lisa

Yes--I'm in for Sunday--can I bum a ride?
-
Can't wait to see everyone..did someone make reservations?
Sylvia..I wish you lived in Southbay so I could give you a lift...
Hugs, SoCal

Hi all,
Doubt that I can make it; I will try. It's my Dad's bday and my brother and I feel that we should spend it with him. I will check in later in the week. I am out of town Martin Luther King's bday weekend, so if you choose a Sat other than that one (or Sunday if it works better for you) I will certainly try to be there in Jan.
Melia
-
Melia - I hope you can make it, but certainly understand about the importance of family.
Like Melia, I'm out of town Martin Luther King weekend in January and President's Day weekend in Feb - takin' the kids skiing in Big Bear both long weekends so if we can plan around the holiday weekends, I'd appreciate it, too. I'm hoping to be in good enough shape to do a little skiing - what do you all think? Love the Santa Ana's, but please pray for snow. Thank God for all my lovely hats - I may have to layer them
Lisa #3
-
Melia-Sorry you may not be there. I will miss you.
Sylvia-I can give you a ride. pm me your phone number and we will set it up.
Lisa #3-Glad your feeling up for it.
LisaSDCA-Woohoo. God does answer our prayers.
SoCal-I have not made reservations yet. I will take care of it tomorrow.
-

Lisa3boys, Breast Cancer Survivors is a small non-profit organization that provides temporary support and assistance to women, who meet certain income guidelines, in several SoCA counties while they are in active treatment. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps. They are having a Christmas Open House on Saturday for their local participants, with presents for the kids. I am going mostly because I support the organization and hope to volunteer for them as soon as I am able.
Oh - hey it looks like the local mtn.resorts may be getting some of that snow soon that you were hoping for.
How are we handling the gift-thingee? Choosing numbers and picking one from the pile or one already opened - that sort of thing? Did we come up with a limit? I know $10 was mentioned - was that the consensus?
Lisa
