Thanks, Brenda -
I meant to check, but haven't even opened mine yet! Will try to bring mine along. Or, if only one per party, we can do ONE big check!

It was soooooo great to see everyone and to welcome lini and katomato ...it already feels like "old home week" with our group!!

I see our resident historian SoCal has done it again. Great picture. What fun we had. I just love meeting new bc.org girls and sharing with our group every month. You make my month ladies. Love ya.
-
Once again, a fabulous time spent with my bc.org Brunch Buddies! Thanks for sending pictures, SoCal! Aren't we a good looking bunch - regulars and our visitors from up yonder.
I so enjoy meeting new bc.org sisters - I hope more will come and join us Nov.18th at Bennigan's in Mission Valley at 1pm (so you can even get to church!). We're an all-inclusive group at many differnet stages in the BC journey - some just starting chemo, some just finishing, some facing surgery, some recovering, some short and long term survivors, too!
Too bad my teeny new post-chemo hairs are about the color of the bannister, you really have to use your imagination! Soon they'll look like BMD's and be long enough to style! Maybe they'll show up in the Dec. meeting photo.
Lisa
Hey, BMD - not so long between brunches, this time, huh?
-
Hi ladies,
It was so good to see everyone at our bc.org luncheon. I, too, look forward to these get togethers. I gain strength from each and everyone one of you inspirational ladies. Thank you!
Lini and Kaye - it was so great that you both made the long trek down to spend a few hours with us. It's always nice to have new people join us. I hope you can join us again for another luncheon.
I have been wrapped for lymphedema. I look like the Michelin man. Figured it can't hurt to try.
I got drained again today and will go for draining again on Wednesday before starting chemo on Thursday. Luckily we have a quiet weekend planned (a couple of pop warner football games which I will try to make if I'm able, but nothing more). I should be getting a few netflix movies in the mail, so you know what I'll be doing when I'm not snoozing.
love to all,
Lisa #3

Melia - thank you so much for the hats
I may be using them by 18th of November.
-
Lisa#3....please let us know how this goes, will you please??
We are sending warm hugs for you....SoCal
-
Lisa #3 ~ Hoping you get to make it to your boys' games. I know how much I hate to miss any of mine. Also, sending prayers and good vibes that the second round goes smoothly.
starfish Lisa ~ I didn't get to talk to you much, but I went back and read your blog. I had read it months ago. I love all the pictures. You have a beautiful family! Let me know if you would like some input if you go the expander/implant route.
LisaSDCA, BMD, Melia, Lisa 3 ~ I was looking back at pictures of you three in the various stages of hair, no hair, and wigs. I must say that you all are so very beautiful exactly the way I met you on Sunday. I might have to reconsider my long do. You all look so cute.
SoCal and Shirlann ~ It was amazing finally meeting you two. I've been following your posts for so long that it felt like I've know you two forever.
Kato ~ You've got my number if you ever need to talk.
You are all so inspirational. You've made my bc journey feel like a cakewalk after hearing and seeing how much so many of you have been through, and with young ones.
Best to you all always,
lini

Lini-You are so sweet.

Hi, Lini:
Thanks for your kind words about my family. And I'm so grateful that you offered input about the implants. I could really use some! I will PM you later about that.

BMD..sure hope you are having a good cruise!!!!

Afternoon everyone,
There is a bc seminar at Sharp tonight - sorry for the late notice, but here's the link if anyone is interested - https://www.82sharp.sharp.com/Sections.asp?dblink=1&ServLink=115&ClassLink=2056&Survey=
I'm doing okay with the chemo - so far anyways. I'm just tired, but to be expected.
SoCal, my neighbor, Mil Phillips, is a docent on the Midway. Perhaps your husband knows him?
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 18th.

Hi Lini, so happy you made our merry meeting! Lisa, how are things? Brenda, hope house sales are up. Melia, you looked so good. And 4 boys 4 me, dang it, you looked so lovely, bright eyes, hair, good skin, well, it will all come back. And our lovely Starfish, I went home and kicked my mirror, you are so pretty.
I leave on Sunday for our cruise. Just a shortie to Baja. But our son asked us so we were so shocked we said yes! haha
Love to you all, Shirlann
-
I'm so jealous of both Brenda and Shirlann. I want to go on a cruise, too....
-
Me too
-
I saw that grubby was in Norwalk, I am not too far from her...if it works maybe we could carpool. I have been lucky enough to meet scal a year ago, but would love to see her again. I just never know my work schedule, but once you pick a date maybe I can arrange something.
-
I am back on land again. I don't think I will be leaving it again anytime soon. We did have fun and the boys had a riot but we all caught some kind of cruise crud and are feeling lousy today. I have had a headache since last Saturday afternoon when I got on the boat. Luckily I had some narcotics left from my surgeries and was able to use them when needed. I was going to go to the doc today but then one of my boys got sick and had to go. He is fine. His doc thinks we got some viral thing on the ship and wants us to watch each other carefully over the next few days.
I have to say there were a lot of people having a lot more fun than me on that ship. I would hate to see some of their alcohol bills. It was chilly except in Cabo San Lucas. I really expected that to be a much nicer place. I am afraid I was not to impressed with the coastal area. The snorkeling wasn't any different than snorkeling in San Diego. I guess you need to go a lot farther south to get that blue water like in the Caribbean. Ensendada was no place I will ever go back to. If I want to see graffiti I know where to find it. My 6 year old just about drove the local merchants nuts with all his questions. He was hilarious. "WHAT? You want 100 bucks for THAT? The guy down the street will sell it to me for $75."
Well I am off to rest my poor head. See you all on the 18th.
-
So funny, Brenda! Your little son sounds like he's a riot.
I hope you are all well. Not sure I can make it next weekend- boyfriend will be flying so he can't watch my daughter. But I *may* be able to get my neighbor to do it. Stay tuned...
-
We've just had a death in the family, back east, and I may be traveling to the services - which will be, of course, next weekend.
Arrrgh! I have never missed a single one of our gatherings, starting with the very first one!!! Right now I am crunching numbers and schedules to see if it's going to even be possible to make the trip, but if so. . .
I sure will miss you guys.
Brenda - sorry your cruise was disappointing. You do have to avoid the tourist cities and go up into the Sea of Cortez for those warm clear waters and pristine beaches. Hope the whole family is feeling tip-top soon!
Lisa3boys - thinking of you through your chemo, girl. Be strong!
Love to you all,
Lisa
-
LisaSDCA-so sorry to hear your news. I hope you can get back there to be with family. We sure will miss you though.
-
Hi All,
Brenda, I hope your family bounces back quickly. I am sorry you aren't feeling well. Your son sounds like a funny little guy.
Family coming to town next weekend so I won't be able to make it. I am sorry to miss all of you .... let us know when the next one is. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Lisa3boys, I think of you daily and am sending warm thoughts your way.
Melia

So are there only 4 of us for next week-end. Should we just cancel and wait until December sometime? What do you think ladies?
-
I should add that I will be happy to attend if anyone else is going to be there.
-
I'm sorry I can't make it this time, either. My 5th chemo round is this Thursday, which means I'm once again out of commission on the weekend.
-
28th wedding anniversary and Las Vegas for me and DH. Hoping you feel better fast nash.
-
Nash-you just rest up. We will be there for your first luncheon with us when you are ready.
Lini-Have a blast in Vegas.
