So is this what we wanted to do??? I wasn't there whey you all decided..
Hugs, SoCal -
Sounds perfect to me. Sammy's has everything. And 11:30 seems to be a good time for everyone. What to the rest of you think?
Melia -
HAHAHAHA, we can claim chemo brain, or I can claim old age, but somebody better tell us where we are going!
Love you gals, Shirlann -
See you at Sammy's on Gennesse at 11:30 on July 21st. How is that Shirlann?
-
WHEWW!! Thanks, love, you have to be kind to the oldsters! hahaha
Love Shirlann -
Great! Hope to make it that day. I like Sammy's.
-
I am starting my diet tomorrow so I hope they have good salads.
LisaSD how are you now that TAC is over? Did the last one just knock you out? I remember it did me. I hope you are doing really good now though. It is nice to have it over isn't it. -
Hi, Brenda:
My first week of TC was just awful. Screaming headaches and bone pain. But then it dissipated and right now I feel great. Except for the clumps of hair falling out, that is...getting it shaved tomorrow. -
Starfish--Sorry to hear you had a bad first week. Hopefully you will be feeling much better next week for our luncheon. Once that hair is shaved off thats one less thing you have to worry about. It is gone and done so you move onto the next thing.
-
Sammy's has INCREDIBLE salads, just super. You will be happy.
Hugs, Shirlann -
Thanks, Brenda. Now that it's off, I really do feel that way. Plus, my friend brought me sunflowers before she shaved it
-
Bumping for newcomers. Anyone else in the San Diego area want to join us this Saturday for lunch? We love to add people every month. It is a great time of friendship and fun.
-
Hi Everyone,
Sammy's will be great. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting any new cancer sisters.
I've been in a holding pattern. My MRI and mammogram came back clear, but those cancer sites still need to go! So I am waiting for my surgeon to get back to me with a firm date, but it looks like it will be the week of the 30th for a lumpectomy.
I've been off all treatment since the 12th of June, so I am feeling really good. Doing college tours with my eldest son and taking the younger two to the beach as often as I can. I am enjoying this time since I know more chemo is looming in my future.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st,
Lisa #3 -
Can't wait to see everyone
-
Only 2 more days.
-
Hi, Lisa:
How long would you say it takes to feel normal again after you complete chemo? I am having a rough time during my 2nd treatment right now, and I need a positive thought to focus on. Thanks. -
YAY! Only two more days! I can't wait to see you guys again and to meet our new Lisa, too. Lisa #4(sdstarfish) I can't answer your question because I am only a few weeks out of chemo and am still dealing with major fatigue although I can say my mouth is getting better and my stomach is not so raw and painful.
Yes, Brenda, you were right, TAC #6 was brutal. Everyone was saying "Hey - you're done!" and there I was feeling knocked for a loop. The chemo-induced Macrocytic Non-Megaloblastic Anemia is a big part of my fatigue problem, not to mention my auto-immune stuff kicking back in. Damn, I'm a mess!
But hey - I'm up for a party on Saturday!
Lisa -
Hey, since I don't know any of you yet - tomorrow, what will the res be under?
-
I'm guessing that since we will be arriving at opening that we won't need a reservation - what do y'all think? At any rate, Lisa, go back to the previous pages and look at the pictures from our previous meetings and you'll see what we look like (except that now Brenda has HAIR!) And we always keep a lookout for our new folks. One time I even approached a perfectly innocent woman who was just waiting around for a takeout order because we didn't want a sister to be neglected.
I have PM'd Myra and Sheri just in case they can possibly make this occasion, even though I haven't heard from them lately - you never know!
Lisa -
So bummed. Too sick to make it. If you meet in Aug., how's 8/20? May be my only decent weekend in Aug.
-
Sorry you couldn't make it today starfish/lisa..we missed you and a couple others who didn't come..here is a photo of us minus our new member who had to leave ...next lunch is planned for 11 Aug at BJs in LaJolla on Noble Drive..
In the photo are SoCalLisa, Shirlanne,LisaSDCA, Meilanne,BMD and 3boys4me -
Boy you are fast SoCalLisa. Thanks for the great picture. Look at all those smiles. So sorry Stephanie wasn't able to stay for the picture. We did miss all you other ladies. When are going to join us again? Aug 11 will be another great day to get out with some bc.org friends. Put it on your calendar.
-
It was a wonderful surprise to have a new "recruit" with us today - Stephanie - even though there's no photographic evidence. And we missed you sdstarfish/Lisa, but we've all been through the miserable days that chemo can dish out. We'll still be there when you are feeling up to joinng us.
I just love all my BC.org buds! We all get to yammering (ahem... sharing deeply meaningful collective experiences )and the time just flies! Thank you, SoCalLisa for being our official Historian and assuring that we get a picture each time.
August 11th, 11:30am, La Jolla is on my calendar to see you all again. Can't wait!
Hugs all around!
Lisa -
Of course, old stupid gets home and I have a wedding on August 11th at 11:30am. DARN IT!
But go ahead, don't change the plans, I will catch the next one.
Hugs, Shirlann -
Wow, you guys are fast on the posts. I had a great time at lunch with all of you and can't wait until next month. I should still have hair, but no guarantees for the September luncheon.
You are all strong, vibrant women and I feel it is an honor to have met each and every one of you. And to those who have gone before (sounds a little like star trek), you inspire the rest of us who are still making our way.
Can't wait to see ya'll next month!
Lisa #3 -
Hi All,
Had a great time, and Liz, thanks for the photo. I am looking forward to the 11th. Shirlann, so sorry you have other plans, but a wedding is always fun. We will miss you.
Hugs,
Melia -
What a great pic! Sorry to have missed it. Apparently I had an allergic reaction to Vicoden and Tylenol with Codeine, the drugs they gave me for my allergic reaction to Nuelasta. I was sicker yesterday than I have been any day so far. But today I woke up feeling halfway decent!
Lesson learned: Veto the Nuelasata shots from here on out.
Really hope to see you on the 11th...I get TC #3 on the 6th, so it's very wait-and-see for me.
Lisa -
Hi SoCalLisa, I am trying to post in the dang Chat Room and can't figure it out? HELP?
Hugs, Shirl -
Shirlann, I tried doing that last night and just gave up. What is your profile? Where do you type? In the box or the profile area?
-
