Shokk - Good advice! LMAO I'm already getting too familiar with the "Mom, you're embarrasing me, do you have to sit so close?" lol Still, I don't know if I'd give my daughter the choice when it comes to going to China!!

Peter - yep, finally got my shower! love the veggie and fruit pics, very cool!

SoCal - I don't think I'd ever get bored of that kind of weather either! The picture of the Maine cove is gorgeous!

Jasmine - Hope your hard work is paying off for you!

Nicki - Thanks for the picture advice. My you had a busy day! You departed rather suddenly tonight, unlike you. I hope it was for something good!

Vickie - Thanks, sometimes she says the darndest things to me! Loved your poem tonight!

Karen - I'm having a glass of wine right now. I think I'll have a second just for you.

Cheri - oh my, that's just too much of the ugly C in one family. Wow, that's so awesome about your sister who is 12 years NED though! I'm the only one of the five girls in my family with BC. Dad survived early prostate cancer and my oldest brother survived a heart attack a couple years ago at age 49 that almost killed him. He's good now. He quit smoking that day! Sorry to hear how plans changed with Amber. You're just a big softee aren't you!

Denise - Audrey confesses Everything to me! I try to not over react .. I want her to Always tell me everything! lol Boy, for some reason I've really been in the mood for fresh green and yellow beans lately!!

    Cherryl - hahahahahahaha!!!!

Shirley - Pooped in the yard!! OMG that's too funny!!! Thank you for educating me on Kilz. Did hubby get over the shock?

Deb - Wow, enjoy the clams!!

Liz - awww that's sweet .. I love Audrey's name too! What is your son's name?

Jankay - thanks sweetie! Goodnight to you!

And to all the CG's, pleasant dreams!

Marsha, loved your comment to the old geezers. It seems that sometimes old people don't realize what they are saying.

Vickie, I love the visual of you swimming in your nightgown. Was this you I saw last night? image

Shokk, welcome back; you were missed. Congrats on passing all your tests. You know what they say - you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family, and if one of your friends treated you the way your family members have, they wouldn't be your friend for very long. Congrats on your daughter's accomplishment.

Karen, welcome back. Glad you had a great time. My sister and I used to tell each other that Mom means Master of Manipulation - don't let your mom make you feel guity

Nicki, you have shown that you are the bigger person with your girlfriend. My hairstylist is a girlfriend and does a great job on my hair. She likes early morning so I get my hair done at 6:00 a.m. - we take turns buying the Starbucks.

Cheryl, I don't think it rained last night - was gray yesterday but it didn't really rain and it's supposed to heat up over the next few days. There weren't as many kayakers at the game last night as uual because of the safety restrictions. Tickets were expensive too.

Amy, hugs to you with your dad and nephew. I know how hard it is with elderly parents; there were several times last year hen we didn't think mom would make it. Keeping your family in my prayers. Your nephew is a cutie. If you want us to send him care packages, let us know.

Cheri, I hope Amber realizes how lucky she is to have you as a babysitter.

Denise, I voted yes but thought the price was too high as well.

Denise, did I miss that you have lost 35 lbs.? Way to go.

Peter, I would have loved to take the magic carpet to Australia had we known sooner.

Shirley, you'll have to post a pic with your haircut. You too Liz.

Took a walk around the perimeter and tucked everyone in. Jankay, made sure your scooter was tucked in too.

Night all from Amy to Z.

    Love ya all

When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

    Concentrate on this sentence.....

'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not
    protect you'

SOMETHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN TO YOU TODAY. SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR. THIS IS NOT A JOKE; SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU BY PHONE OR WILL SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick fly by from conference central. It was the first day yesterday. Not too many snafus. Today is the big day. I just want Sunday to get here. I'm definitely looking for another job. As much as I love it, I don't want to be doing this next year. And my boss is a real pain.

Oh well, don't want to take my time complaining.

I want to say I miss all of you terribly. I don't have the time to go back and read. I'll definitely catch up next week.

Hugs, bugs, kisses and fishes to all,

Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America, all Kentuckians, Tennesseans, and West Virginians will no longer be referred to as "HILLBILLIES."

You must now refer to them as APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS.

    And furthermore,

HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT WOMEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:

5 . She does not "NAG" you - She becomes "VERBALLY REPETITIVE."

Good Mroning Everyone: I have only been back to work for 3 days and already Im saying I cant wait until Friday. I drove 140 miles yesterday and the price of gasoline went up right before my eyes. From $3.07/gallon to $3.49/gallon. Ahem - so far this year no hurricanes - thank goodness - so now the oil companies are blaming it on the flooding in Oklahoma! Nothing gets memore upset than oil companies and insurance companies. Still havent heard them explain why they are making record profits. Ok - enough ranting.

Jankay: Nothing like waking up and laughing first thing in the morning.

Betty: Good to hear from you. Sometimes you job sounds like fun and other times it sounds like alot of stress.

Peter: Hope those medications do the trick and dont turn you into a frog. Sleep well my friend.

I am so lost trying to read back! I dont know where to start and end - but Im trying.

Denise: I am really jealous that you lost 35 pounds. That is wonderful. Im still hanging in there at a 10 pound wt loss (I gained 5 pounds back over vacation) and it seems like Im stuck here. Seems like my belly has sagged down cause now I have this big roll by my hips. I was laying in bed last night and thinking to myself, why am I making myself so miserable about this. I think I will be forever dieting with not much to show for it.

SoCal: What is it with our families sometimes. Cant believe you sister actually said that to you. Prior to my bc - my older sister and I hadnt talked for 10 years. Now we are on good terms again.

Karen: Hot diggity dog! It was so good to hear from you. There are a few things I have learned from working with the geriatric population for many years. They become self centered and always know what buttons to press to make someone feel guilty. The stories I could tell. Actually could write a book.

Cheri: You got a big awww this morning from me. Said it right out loud. The story about rocking Kevin to sleep was adorable. Maybe he is rebellious and fighting for attention in a negative way when other grand kids are around. Of course I frowned when you were trying to figure out how to put him to bed - but then he got to sleep with grand ma! Im thinking if you look at the good side of it, they are keeping you from going insane stuck in the house. Making time go by so it will be that much closer to you being able to walk again.

Well I didnt even know about the cruise bc.org is trying to put together, so I just read the post. Ya know - they should be proud. Look at all the frienships we have made. Get togethers across the world. This site sure is wonderful - I would be lost without it.

Charlene: I am reading back from the most recent posts backwards. So Im anxiously waiting to find your post about finding the hole.

Sherloc: I have thought and thought about it. I think I need to stop trying to grow back long hair. Might even go back and get it cut shorter than it is already. I figure at 57 long hair might look funny anyways. I need the kind of hair style - you dont have to style as Im terrible at styling my own hair. Bet your hair cut is really cute.

Liz: You too! Oh I was so jealous when I read your hair was long yesterday. OK - its gonna be the short look for me too. And maybe Ill get some highlights when I get it colored. I have plenty of hightlights right now, the only problem is they are grey.

Charlene: Hahahah I did leave abruptly. DH stopped playing guitar and made a wonderful dinner. It was done and ready to be eaten - so I had to go quickly. Im so thankful he is a good cook.

Iris: So good to hear from you. Always smile when I see a post from you.

MargaretB: I have a saying that I follow. It doesnt matter who is right or wrong, its who looks best in the end. So if I ranted and raved at my friend, I would have looked awful - because she did help me alot for 2 years! Better to just move on, and slowly back off from her for a while.

Amy: sounds like you dad might have some delerium. Not unusual when an infection is going on. I sure hope they can find out what is going on with him. Sending you big hugs.

OK - my time is up. I have missed many of you. So hello from Amy to Z. Hoping everyone has a great day.

Have a morning free of exercise so thought I'd log on and say hello.

Betty, make the most of the rest of the eek at the conference.

Jankay, that was pretty funny first thing in the am.

Nicki, $3.49 a gallon - ok, that's higher than here - I'm paying $3.17. Nicki, the first step to weight loss is to stop talking negative talk about ourselves so your personal motivation coach is telling you to change it around - you're not on a diet - it's a lifestyle change and you will have something to show for it if you keep it up. I did Weight Watchers and only lost 5 lbs. in about 14 or 15 weeks - but they say the slower you take it off, the longer it stays off. I didn't gain it back so that's a good thing and now with boot camp I'm hoping that gives me the jump start I want.

Denise, how are you losing 35 lbs.?

It was a quiet night and it's early morning around the circle. I'm all caught up reading and still have time before I have to shower. Have a good day.

Jan, I'm just listening to a news story about a biker who has been missing for two days and was finally found because his employer, at his family' insistence, hired a helicopter to look for him when the highway patrol couldn't find him. Apparently he hit a rock on his Harley, flew off the bike, broke both legs, and was thrown into tulle so no one could see him.

Good Morning everyone and afternoon to Peter,

Oh what a night! Doctors inserted a breathing tube into dad last night because he seems to be using all of his energy to breathe on the c-pap machine and they are hoping with the tube his energy will help him get a little stronger. Basically nothing medically can be done. He is just too weak. Man its so sad to see. They are keeping him sedated and doctors said think long term in like a week to see if any improvement which they hope will happen. Dad is sedated so main thing now is to try to get mom to rest. I always sleep at night no problem but last night wasnt so good. I just kept tossing and turning and thinking the worse. Why do we let ourselves do that?

Thanks for all the compliments on my nephew. Hes a great guy and can make a friend with the worse enemy. He just never meets a stranger. I'm being honest and not just saying that cause he is my nephew. Yep, hes single and will be 23 on august 4th.

Sherloc-so lets see the new do missy.

Deb-clams, awww trying to make me jealous? I love clams and ate my weight in them in Maine. What kind do you have in Alaska? Are they fried whole belly clams? mmmm, I can taste them.

Denise-35 pounds is wonderful and glad to see the mucky pond is no longer scary to you.

cheri-hope the little one slept well with you last night. It sounds like he is really warming up to ya. I'm a weird one and love the 2 year olds alot better than the little babies. They are just so much fun.

iris-glad to see you checking in with the blackberry. I hate losing a post. It makes me growl.

Nicki - Can't beat a good dinner made by somebody else! The finding the hole story is one (of many) that I will never forget! lol I see our friend is hassling someone else on another thread. Some people just can't stop until they're told "oh you're right I must be an idiot". It's not gonna happen!!! sigh..... that one really gets to me!

Cheri - thinking about you with your grandkids .. they're so lucky to have you. My mom has never lived close enough for my children to get real close with her. Audrey's paternal grandmother is very close with her and I always cherished that relationship as I know she does. Since I split from her dad though she doesn't see her nearly as much as she used to .. I need to rectify that. When I had my mastectomy my mom stayed with me for a month and had a chance to get closer to my daughters. But there's nothing like a grandma who's always there like you are. It's a very special relationship.

Peter - what am I missing regarding "The Impossible Quiz"? I emailed it to my sisters and they replied wanting to know how long it took me to figure out what was going on?? Now I know I was playing at a late hour after a long day and I'm usually pretty smart! Clue me in?

Good Morning to Vickie, Margaret, Betty, Jankay and Amy .. where is everybody else today?

Good Morning and Evening everyone. Another week almost done. Summer is half over. Where the heck did it go? Going to a birthday party at a local lake on Saturday. Should be a good time. Have someone coming to pick up our canoe. Haven't used it in 3 years. Hope it still floats.

Shokk, my daughter went to Austrailia with National Cheerleaders Association when she was a senior. I would have gone in a heart beat if I could have afforded it. I bet your daughter would love to have you as a chaperone.
Parenting Tip for you. Keep your girls away from Hay Stacks.

Socal, o my, what a terrible thing for a sister to say and do. Shame on her.

Nicki, by all means drive the 38 miles. I used to drive 2 hours to Sacramento to get mine done. The girl who does it now is a freind of mine. She has cut hubbies hair for years but I'm such a chicken about change that it took me forever to let her do mine the first time. I did and have been singing her praises every since. She is fabulous.
She says she only makes me look good cause I know where she lives. I am totally hair challenged to. Mine has to be wash and wear. No goops or electrical appliances for me. Have never been able to figure them out.
But then again if you want long hair just get it trimmed every 6 weeks or so. I have a 65 year old aunt that has really long hair. She loves it.

Vicki, did you do some more swimming under the moon?

Karen, hugs for you. Mothers are supposed to make us crazy. It's in the contract.

Cheri, did Kevin sleep ok in your bed? I'm not planning the cruise. BC.org is. The thread is at the top of all the forums. I believe the plan is for next April. So lots of time to save our pennies.

Vicki, why are you fighting with your doctors? Why do you need a referral? Its just a simple blood test. If your thyroid is out of wack they can send you to an endocrinologist then. O my! That is not good.

    Yummmmmm Deb, I love clams.

Liz, I bet you look fabulous. I went super dooper short. Kinda a pixie cut but a little longer on the top.

Charlene, he wasn't shocked at all. Seems Jo (the cutter) called him and said "its not my fault, she made me do it". hahahahahhahahahh So he was prepared. Actually said he liked it. I chop my hair up all the time. I think he's used to it by now.
A little girl that confesses everything to her mommy will be a teenager who confides in her mom. That is a very good thing. Even when she tells you something you don't want to hear.

Peter, those vegis are to cute to be toxic. I hope the new meds do the trick for you. The not breathing thing is for the birds.

    Hi Iris

Margaret, I'll get hubby to take a pic when he comes home this evening.
Master of Manipulation. I love it.
I'm very happy the biker was found. How scary for him.

Jankay, my mom had IBC. Her primary treated her for 6months for mastitis. From what I've read most doctors out there have never seen a case of it.

Hi Betty, glad the conference is going well.

Awwww Amy, great big huge hugs for you. I am so sorry about your daddy. How would you like me to direct my prayers?

Have a whole list of must do's today. Must get to it. See you all later.

    Morning girls and Peter,

First I'm retracting my earlier statement that I cut off all my curls. They're still there just not long anymore. LOL The verdict is still out on the haircut though.

Nicki - I used to love my hair long. We cut off 3" last night and it's still at my shoulders. Problem is, I have chemo curls now. I did highlights awhile back. Sure does blend in the grey. Can't get them done before Pinkstock

Sher - I bet it's cute! Mine isn't that short. My hairdresser is a very good friend also. She recently closed her shop and does "select" clients in her home now when she gets off work or before she leaves for work.

Well it's storming here again, lots of lightning all of a sudden. Best shut down and I'll be back when it's over.

Hugs to everyone I didn't mention and those I did.

Ahhh, there you are Shirley, good morning to you! LOL re Jo calling ahead! Unlike you I've always been afraid to chop my hair up so my SO would have been Shocked! I agree with what you told Nicki .. long hair can be beautiful at any age.
You're right about my daughter .. I certainly hope it turns out that way no matter what she needs to tell me. I want her to know she can Always come to me. Have a good day!

Hugs back Liz! I envy those who have regular hairdressers. That's half the battle right there and I've never had such luck. I usually go to a walk in place and hope for the best! Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised and others, well, WTH were they thinking!

    Good morning CG's

A belated welcome to Peter. Hope you are getting the answers you want from the doctors and the new meds. Friends of mine lived in Canberra and Melbourne (I think) for about 8 years. The are Americans and recently moved to England.
Denise - enjoy your visit with your gd
Z - got your email while I was on vacation. Thank you so much - it was wonderful and I saved it on my computer. I loved the flowers.
Shirley - how are you feeling?
Shokk- CONGRATS, CONGRATS, CONGRATS!!!! Brag all you want- what an accomplishment. Do you get to go to China with the orchestra. What a talented young lady. Refresh my memory - what instrument does you DD play. Miriam wants to take piano lessons, keeps asking, so I think its time to look into it. We have a piano sitting in the living room that is ready and waiting for her as soon as it gets tuned. The piano was my mothers when she was little, but she does not play piano. The piano stayed at my grandmothers house till we moved to the states, then I got it when I moved to Colorado 21 years ago.
Amy - I am so sorry to hear that your dad is doing poorly. Hugs.
    Angel - I loved your "men's classes"
Shirley - well my mother can take the prize for making me crazy and the guilt - she even gives the guilt to my children who are her only grandchildren.
Margaret - I live it - Master of Manipulation!!!
Betty - glad the conference is going well.
Jankay - loved your politically correct descriptions - I sent them to my DH as I know he will get a good laugh at them too.
Nicki - I don't think my parents qualilfy as geriatrics yet - they are only in their mid 70's. But mom is good with the guilt - even gives it to her grandkids. One time she sent Noah $10 for his b'day and told him it would have been more if he kept in touch better. I try not to tell her much about my kids, but sometimes it slips out. Noah and I have had our times, but he is coming around and I think this annoyed my mom. Aren't grandparents supposed to have unconditional love for the grandchildren? Thats how my grandmother always made me feel (and she was my mom's mom). I just need to make sure I don't turn out like my mom, but it is scary as when I look in the mirror that who is I see. But looks are not behavior!!!
How is Robin, Cy, Gina, Mena, Puppy, LisaElder - the few posts I have been able to read the past few days haven't seen their names.
Iris, MB, Deb, Jan, Lini, Tricia (haven't seen you post the past two days), Cheri, SolCalLisa, Susan CherlyHolt, Laura, Beth (how are you doing), Joyce (how is Kevin), Sherndon, Madison, Silka, Boo/Sue, Suz, Kristin, Christine, Tgirl, Pam, Marsha, Liz, Anne, Tracey, and anyone else from A to Z that I left out, sending hugs from Denver and wishing you all feel good days. Prayers to everyone who is having hard times, be it their own health, children or family. I love you all. Karen from Denver

Ok I have a question......why would a middle aged man chatting on the internet with "underage girls" and sending them pics of themselves in different stages of undress....do they really believe that this so called 14 or 15 yr old girl wants to have sex with them???? Are they so busy on the internet that they haven't seen Dateline in the last two yrs????? Are they really that stupid?????? I just don't get it........These men are being busted all the time now and still everyday there is more news about some teacher or someone that has been caught in a sting operation.....Peter maybe you can give us some insight into the male ego???????? hmmmmmmm.............I really do understand middle age guys staring at young girls.....I mean the female body is beautiful (damn it) and I am not so stupid to understand that times have changed but I don't understand men that appear to perfectly sane completely losing their minds and chatting with girls that are usually their daughters ages and making complete fools of themselves......ok (deep breaths).....sorry guys.......oh geez...brb.......

Good Morning Charlene. I had long hair (past my behind) till I turned 30, got it chopped up to my ears then and never looked back. Since then I've rarely let it get past my shoulders. Today the dumbo ears are waving in the wind.

Liz, I repeat, I bet you look fabulous. We are gonna take the town when we get to NYC. O and daughter says bring at least one nice thing to wear so we can go someplace fancy.

Shhokk, hahahahhahahahhah rooty tooty? that is to pickin funny.

Karen, I really truly burst out laughing when I read this.... "One time she sent Noah $10 for his b'day and told him it would have been more if he kept in touch better."
Wow she is good. I see my mother when I look in the mirror too. It does not make me happy.
You need caller ID just to protect the kids from grandmas snippy comments.

Karen and everyone thanks joining me in being proud of my daughter....she plays the oboe.....it looks like a clarinet sorta with an exterior reed.........Anne here in the group also played the oboe.......its one of those instruments that are more difficult to play and orchestras are always looking for them.....anyway Karen get your dd to piano lessons......never can tell may end up paying her way thru college.........Amy keeping your dad in my prayers.......I think a toxic dump for wayward family members and so called friends is a great idea.....Vickie that woman that decided to feel you up at the wedding she needs to be over in the dump as well......ok guys I really need to read back at lunch and catch up.......will check back in this afternoon.......Liz don't drive thru any high water.....check ya later gators..........

Shokk, I saw a tv interview with the guy that does that online thing to catch those pervs. Totally amazes me that it is still going on after all the publicity. But then again, some men...and women too are just plain sick.
