Okay girls, I am going to try again to hand crochet. I'm going to succeed this time. So Vickie and Madison you might not get squares for a little while cos it'll take me longer but I really enjoy it if I can just get the edges right and they don't turn into triangles. lol

Ok, am I the only one that can't figure out the Knifty Knitter? I can't believe how frustrting this is for me. I'm ready to ship my Knifty Knitter to anyone who wants it. I've looked at the instructions Vickie and Sue gave me and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I think hand knitting may actually be easier!
Margaret -
Margaret and others....have you tried to use these instructions for the rectangle loom?
http://decoraccentsinc.com/kb_basic_inst.html
Also, this link has some mini movies on using the rectangle loom:

Margaret,
Don't ship it off yet!! I'm off work tomorrow so I am going to try to put together bits and pieces of directions that I used to finally figure the thing out. Truly, after you do one you'll be on your way.
Hugs,

To add to your list, I got one.

My hubby will be out of town next weekend so I'll spend some time on it again. Grrrrrrr. Jasmine, I'll look at the links later this week, maybe by then my frustration will be gone.

Margaret and Marsha:
I have found the directions I used to get me started with the Knifty Knitter. Very simple and good pictures. Now I've got to figure out how to get them to you guys! I tried going to their website but didn't get anywhere. I've got the little booklet I bought.........if I scan it will it be readable? Maybe I can make copies and snail mail them to you? One way or the other..we'll get ya going.
Hugs,
Denise -
Marsha and Margaret:
I made a copy of the directions I used. If you would like me to send them to you via snail mail just send me your addresses and I'll get them out tomorrow.
Hugs,
Denise -
Suzanne
To make that lacy square what I do is chain 29, dbl stitch in first ch from hook, 3 dbl crochet in 3rd chain until you have 8 complete sets of three....this should leave you with 3 chains to the end, 2 dbl crochet in last chain, chain 2, turn....NEXT ROW: dbl crochet in next chain, 1 dbl crochet in center dbl crochet of set of 3..chain 2, dbl crocet in same middle stitch, continue across to last set of 3, 1 dbl crochet in each of the last two dbl crochet.....thats the entire pattern....I just rotate the to rows and it comes out like the light blue one you saw....its really very simple, but dont hesitate to give me a yell if you have trouble.
Hugs
Jule -

Thanks Jule,
I'll give it a try. I don't mean to steal your pattern, but I just think those are so beautiful.
Suzanne -
Jule that is a beautiful pattern I have to give it a try! Right now I'm learning the granny suares!
-
The first close-up picture of the tan and blue square are Jule's shell pattern....

Suzanne & Cy
That pattern is really easy to make...I found it on the wrapper from a skein of yarn along time ago, but if I remember correctly it started out to be a pattern for scarves but I changed it some and made it into squares.
It takes less yarn and crochets quickly into squares thats why I decided to use it for the afghans, was a little worried that it would be too full of holes but did it anyway....now Im glad I did.
Hugs
Jule
