So the expected culprit did not do the deed but the dog did. How funny and did the dog try to blame the cat? Too funny.

One of my DD’s cats. Thank God the tree is artificial. The thought of sap on his fur makes me cringe.

Kath, That's a great photo. I agree the artificial tree was the way to go. Wonder how the ornaments will fare.

Remains to be seen 😬! LOL DD has unbreakable ones but hasn’t put them up yet. After today, I’m wondering if she will. This reminded me of the time when one of our cats would climb into our real trees. Oh the joy of living with cats.

Kathindc that is a great pic. I stopped putting ornaments on my trees long long ago. Artificial only. They just cannot resist anything dangling

When I was a little girl I put catnip in a tiny stocking and hung it on our tree.

    OOPS.

Middle of the night CRASH! and a dope-sick cat growling and spazzing out when we tried to get the stocking.

So he had the zoomies this am, skidded into the table the tree is on. Crash. I don’t have carpet. Nothing broke, poor tree. But that’s why I got it.

    Loving the stories!

Our Elliott is featuring on Christmas Cards from the Cat Rescue we adopted both him and Alannah from. His story is printed on the back of the card. The "Beast from the East" that is mentioned was a huge snowstorm that started on 22 Feb 2018 and blanketed Britain and Ireland for about 5 days. Such a widespread and prolonged snowfall is a very unusual occurrance in this part of the world. The volunteer tried to capture his Mum also and had almost succeeded, she had a her fromnt paws into the cat trap, when a security Guard at the site made a loud noise that startled her and she was gone.

Sorry they weren't able to get his mama too.

Fingers crossed we're getting a foster cat. He's 19.5 years old and is getting medicine for a liver infection and fluids for stage II kidney disease. With any luck, that's enough to keep adopters away for a while. He had cancer in an ear and had his ear canal removed causing that ear to flop. Makes him look like a real character.

Aw FF what a beautiful adoption story! Sorry they were unsuccessful in capturing Momma cat

Wren hope you get that foster! I know he will feel as though he has landed in heaven at your place

FF, That is a wonderful story and a beautiful card.

Wren, Good luck on the foster. That little kitty will be glad you are caring for him.

Midnight Louie was a bad boy this morning and broke a picture frame containing a needle point a friend gave us for our wedding. The needle point is OK, but the frame is a goner. Heading to Walmart to get another.

    A Christmas cat tree

Years ago we got a new rescue kitten in November. She was really tiny, about 4 lb, and of Russian Blue heritage so a lovely gray with blue eyes. She spent the entire Christmas holiday appearing as a moving ornament on the live tree. We would see this tiny head pop out from a branch on the tree including those on the top. She never disturbed the ornaments but she could not be dissuaded from climbing the tree. I wish I had taken pictures but the memories of her will always include that "tree ornament". The other cats lived under the tree for the entire time it was up.

Love the cat proof Christmas tree!

I especially liked 'you said I was an angel'.

We got the foster cat. His name is Radar. He's 19.5yrs and has stage II kidney failure. He LOVES his special food. We haven't had a cat who eats this well in years. He alternates sitting in front of the heat vent and DH's lap. DH is really enjoying him. He had cancer years ago and they removed part of his ear canal. I assume that's why one eat is floppy.

Wrenn: How nice of you to open your home and heart to this needy boy. He looks good for his stated age and I am glad that he found two warm spots: the heat vent and your DH's lap.

Oh Wrenn! Radar is one sweet looking boy. He and you are blessed to have this time together.

FF on my goodness that cat friendly xmas tree one made me laugh out loud!

Great news Wren. How fab that he likes his special food! That's not always the case. We gave up on the wet food (Elliott has some kidney damage) but we buy the special Renal biscuits. Aand then find it is Alannah who eats the biscuits, not Elliott. So we are buying extra special biscuits for the cat with no kidney issues! Luckily Elliott is a mild enough case that the ordinary wet food doesn't seem to be a problem, thank God he is holding stable as a mild case. Whatt a sweet face Radar has, I am so glad he can enjoy this time in his senior years with you.

I'm secretly hoping no one wants to adopt him. We would keep him forever.
