ScotBird...Thank you so much.

Happy October! Down 1 from my Sept 1st weigh in...but still +6.5 for the year...January 1 is in the distance, hate it when my year over year is up...so that is my new goal.
-
The Covid + political situation have really been getting to me lately, and I have been exercising like crazy to try to deal with the stress; which has to be why I was actually down this week despite not monitoring the food closely.
-
OK it is bad news this week as I gained 3lb weighing in at 158 this morning, and I’m also 2 days late with the weigh in. Hoping and expecting better next week, as I had hip surgery last Saturday, and so have been eating a ton of amazing hospital food, whilst doing almost zero exercise and am still a bit constipated from the anaesthetic I think. Once the healing is done, I’ll be able to be much more active, so am feeling hopeful over all. Ruth Ruth, let your stress empower you, whatever works! On the other hand there’s really nothing we can do about COVID (apart from try not to catch it) so I agree it is all very tedious - I think it will always be with us and one day it will be considered the same way as flu, and we’ll be back to a more normal way of living with it. Might take a few years though.... seriously, I am sorry you are feeling stressed and hope you have a more joyful week. As they say, it is what it is
-
weighed in bright and early this morning and I'm down 1.5 lbs. a move in the right direction at last
-
I was going to say I took your 1.5, but surprisingly I am down .5 this week.
-
Same as last week.
-
Down .5.
-
So overall, we are down 2.5lbs this week, high five ladies! Let’s set a challenge for this week, to eat very mindfully, to only eat when we are truly hungry, and stop eating when we are not longer hungry, no eating because we are bored, stressed, celebrating, the food has been prepared for us or for any other reason. I will promise faithfully to try to do this every day this week and will report back here next week on how well I succeeded. Anyone herecare to join me?
-
ScotBird...I would love to join you in this challenge! However, do you mind posting more often (i will too). I have just been having such a hard time for a while now and my mental health is not great (i have no support and no one to lean on....my autoimmune disorder is flaring, which always takes a toll on me) and I just haven't been taking care of myself. I have also been wallowing in self pity instead of picking myself up and making a solid plan to exercise and eat well and take care of my mental and physical health. I would love to see how you are doing daily and also post myself daily.
-
I'll report I every day for the week, as I have not been eating mindfully and that might make me more accountable.
-
-
cm2020 i’ve just posted on the other thread you started “looking for your tips” and I’ll commit to posting there every day for the rest of this year to see whether it helps you and me!
-
ruthbru........That is hilarious!!!! Thank you for posting daily this week.
Scotbird....Thank you! Heading over there now.
-
Thursday: got lots of exercise and ate pretty sensibly with smaller meals and fruit for snacks. If I can make it now until bedtime with no nibbling, it will have been a successful day.
-
Hi all, I'm in as best I can be...we leave tomorrow for a week at the beach cottage, but I will try! Yesterday I was good on my exercise and post dinner glass of wine and it showed this a.m. on the scale...so that was a benefit! As long as the rains from Hurrican Delta hold off, the beach is actually a good exercise place for me as I usually take a 5 mile walk and will zoom into a couple of exercise classes over the week. Happy Friday! TT
-
I was bad yesterday (I could give you excuses why, but....that's what they are, excuses). Back on the bandwagon today.
-
Apologies I am a day late in posting my update but amazingly I have lost 3.5lbs this week. Mindful eating seems to have worked, even though I still ate quite a lot of chocolate, cream cakes and cookies this week. I did skip dinner a few times, and I did have either bran flakes or porridge and fruit for breakfast every day, which seems to give me a really good start each day. I would like to lose 14 lbs, so will keep trying this mindfulness, only eating when I am genuinely hungry, and no emotional eating. A different way of thinking about food seems to have made a difference to me. Was 153lbs this morning.
-
I was down 2, more so because that I have been getting a lot of exercise because my eating has not been great.
-
Nice job Scotbird!!! Congratulations to you too, ruth!!
I am down 3 pounds....however....because I had been up, it isn't an overall net loss. Just losing what I had gained. Still, at least I am losing that.
-
That’s amazing, we lost 8.5lbs between us, great job, let’s keep it off and keep losing this week
-
late to the game down .5 for last week which makes a collective minus 9!
-
Great work, TT!
-
Well, we had a fantastic week last week didn’t we all. Well done everyone!
Unfortunately I am breaking the winning streak because I amup 2 this week but am convinced it is only temporary. I am definitely improving my habits and planning to exercise a lot more this week.
-
I was up 2 lbs on Sunday and have managed to reduce that to up .5 lb. At least it's in the right direction.
-
Down 1.5 Wed over Wed...a miracle. TT
-
Same as last week.
-
Up 1.5lbs. Too much pizza and donuts...
-
Still the same....not trying very hard if the truth be told.
