Deb, your post put a big smile on my face. Enjoy.
Denise, you rock -- 75+ squares. At the end of January you had never knitted in your life, right? I looked back and 1/28 was when you declared you were ready to do squares. See what love can do.
Madison, you rock too for walking in the Komen race. There may have been one here too, but I wasn't paying attention. Bad me!!! Do your feet hurt?
I have a cold, so am working from home today (yeah, right like I am working right now.) If I infect anybody else at the office, they will kill me. Maybe I can finish another square today. I have 3 sitting here done, 1 on the needles. All beige - bleah. I need to buy yarn soon. -- Donna in VA -
Deb,
Enjoy that blanket, you are very loved and deserve to feel it!!!!!!
Vickie, Madison,
I have about a dozen squares made and will do a bunch more by the weekend...I will split them and mail them on this next Monday unless you need them sooner, if you do let me know and I will mail what I have.
Take Care All

Thanks Donna,
You're right. I have never knitted a thing! I'm kinda used to talking myself down before I even try. Convince myself pretty easily that "I can't." I was extremely determined to be a part of the "Community Afghan" Girls, and guess what? I not only CAN do it, I ENJOY doing it!!!
Hugs,
Denise -
Remember all, we have an afghan in the mail....I am tracking the package.....
Hugs, Madison -
Madison and Vickie...just came home from mailing you both some more ...thanks....Lisa

I got a rectangle Knifty Knitter. LOL It looks more complicated to figure out than doing it by hand. I'm having trouble with the tension. I think thats what makes them taper. Duh. Takes practice I guess. Anyway, I got another crochet hook hoping to get my dd interested. But I'm working on it girls.

I have about 3' done on the knifty kniter. Not sure I like it yet but it is beginging to take shape. I'll see how it looks when I get to the 9" mark. I'm used to a tighter "knit". I know I just bought some new chrochet hooks a few months back... but where did I put them????
-
Hi, I need some help. Does anyone know how many pegs you use to make 7' wide and 9' long on the Knifty Knitter? I have the rectangle one. My dd is working on it. If someone knows would you please pm me, i would really appreciate it.

Hey MB: Do I want to know what a Knitty Titty is?
Cheri: Just PM'D you with some "directions." If they don't work, let me know and I'll look for the web site that got me interested.
Vickie and Madison: Any squares arrive yet? They should be there today or tomorrow!
Hugs,
Denise -
Thanks Denise. I printed off your directions and my dd is working on it. I'm still working with my hand crochet. I have 6 squares done. They are so far from perfect but not too bad, i guess.

Denise and Sue, received your squares today!!!!! I was down to about 5 squares. Thank you, thank you!!
I love all the colors....as a matter of fact I had purchased some yarn in some of those exact colors!!!
I am hoping the afghan I mailed earlier this week reaches our bc sister tomorrow.
Hugs, Madison -
Denise and Sue...got the squares today! Wow...great colors. I am running a wee bit behind as I wanted to send one today but I'm almost there.
You girls are the greatest...as I keep reminding you LOL.
Love and hugs

Here is a link to the best instuctions i have found for the straight knitting looms
http://decoraccentsinc.com/kb_basic_inst.html
I am using the pinkis knifty knitter that has 12 pegs on each side. It works out the perfect size when i use 2 strands of thin yarn together.

Deb C -
Thanks Deb. My dd is working on the loom. I'm still trying to do it by hand. lol 'Trying' is the key word.

Just finished an afghan this morning and will post pictures tonight. I need to wash and block the afghan...then in the mail to someone that needs a special hug from all of us.
REMEMBER TO SEND VICKIE AND I SUGGESTIONS ON RECIPIENTS OF THESE AFGHANS. We will also need mailing addresses!!!
I am keeping a list of every name submitted, and please know that Vickie and I are adding every name submitted to the list we are compiling.
Thank you all so much....
I am going to get started on the newest afghan this evening.
Hugs, Madison -
So glad the squares arrived! Deb, thanks for the web site, gonna look at it in a jiffy. I, too, use the pinkish one.
Madison and Vickie: I keep trying to come up with names of girls who need some TLC, however whenever I think I have narrowed it down....someone else comes to mind. So many deserve and would love these afghans...guess we'll be knitting and crocheting for a LONG time!! I'll pm with some suggestions real soon!
p.s. Who did you mail the last one to? Brain Freeze!
Love and Hugs,
Denise -
Hey Deb,
That is the same site I printed directions from. Cheri, they have very clear pictures and directions...Much better than the ones that come with the Knifty Knitter!
Hugs,
