Amy, you have "hay elbow"....I've heard of this before 'cause I have loaded a few bales of hay myself....we had a barn when I was growing up, so did our neighbors....
Hay is heavy... -
Yikes....so glad I was born and raised a city girl. You folks make me want to nap!
-
Another beautiful piece of work Vickie!!!!
Amy,
We definitely get it!! We all have a bad case of Canceritis!
I'm so glad you like your Afghan...You do deserve it and we all so enjoy making them!
Love ya,
Denise -
Amy,
I'm so glad that you got your afghan. You are most certainly deserving, and I hope it brings you comfort whenever those bad thoughts start to creep into your head. (Yeah, I "get it" too!!) I love being a part of this project!!
Hugs,
Sue -
To all you wonderful people that make this project happen:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
Without you Vickie and I could not be putting these afghans together...I know it means as much to Vickie as it does to me....and it means so very much to those who receive these afghans.
THANK YOU
Love, Madison -
Vickie- The newest afgan looks beautiful. I think I see some of my squares in there!
Amy - I am so glad you like the afgan and it gives you comfort and warmth. Just wrap yourself in the love any time the need arises.
I have some more squares done. I will get them packed up to mail and let you know when I send them.
I am so proud and happy to be part of this project.
Sue -
I have just completed this afghan and it will be mailed Monday. I don't have enough squares for an entire new afghan, so I have started to make some squares....THANK YOU!!!! I just received squares from Cheryl.....THANK YOU
-
It's beautiful! The squares look so perfect. Mine always seem to be a little off, but I will send them, I promise. I am so bad about sending things, so don't hold your breath, but I will get them out.
-
Another beautiful afghan, Madison. You and Vickie are the best!
Sue -
Please, Please everyone making squares...do not worry about the squares being perfect.....this project is a gift to all, and perfection is not required....Vickie and I put borders on all the squares and we work them into the afghan...so again, please send us your squares Sheri...we would love to put them in an afghan....
You are all the best, Madison -
Madison: I have about 20 squares all done. Got to get off my but and get some envelopes to mail them.
Nicki -
Madison, it's sure a good thing you all are not expecting perfection. lol I've been working to get them as close as i can, although they seem to all look different than the one before. Hummm. Anyway, i'm on #4 as soon as I can get several finished I'll get them in the mail. I'll get faster as I learn. Then i'll go to town on em. Beautiful afghan.
cheri -
Madison-
Great picture---who made the square that's in the middle of the last row on the left---sorta looks plaid? I'd love to know what kind of yarn and stitch that is. -
Madison,
The afghan is beautiful!! I have 20 - 24 squares here to mail off. Should I split them between the two of you or do you need them all? They will be mailed first thing Monday. Let me know!
Hugs,
Denise
p.s. Thank you for the nice card!!!! -
Hi Ladies,
First a big thank you to NJSandy for your donation. Madison..I am going to send some to you for postage on Monday.
I have been crocheting off and on all day! Should have another one ready to go by Wednesday of next week at the latest.
I am working on a flyer for the church so the ladies there can join in and our pastor is taking it to other churches in the area.
You are all the very best. Without the squares, the afghans wouldn't be possible.
Hugs and love to all
Vickie -

-
My dear friends,

Liz, did you make the square on the middle of the last row? There is some wonderful multi-colored yarn in the stores for selection...
And remember, if the purchase of yarn is difficult, please let me know...we can get send yarn to you at any time...if you need help with the mailing of your squares, please let me know....

CY...I think you wind twelve pegs on the rectangular knitter and then just measure as you go.
I have all the squares bordered and ready to be sewn together with about 10 squares left over so I'll be needin squares again...oh my are we working you ladies too hard?
The squares you are making are so very appreciated...please know that...without all of you this wouldn't be possible. Thank you.
I have printed flyers for the ladies at church that I'm taking in today. It's being called the Circle Girls Afghan project. I put pictures of the completed afghans on it so we'll see what happens.
Love to all
Vickie -
How many squares do you put on an afghan? I was also wondering how many rows of black you crochet around the squares? Do you vary it to make the blocks even? I'm just a nosy person, sorry.
-
Morning Ladies!
I'll split up my squares and get them in the mail tomorrow morning!! Should be 12 to 15 for each of you!
Love and Hugs,
Denise -
Okay, I have 2 squares done and half of another. I went back to crochet because I couldn't get the gauge on knitting worked out. I have a question on the yarn though. I bought some of the Red Heart Supersaver and the yarn is so stiff and scratchy. Does it soften up after its washed and dried? Or should I scrap that yarn and buy some softer stuff to use. It didn't feel this stiff until I started working with it. When its in the skein it feels okay.
-
hmmm...lets see...42 squares in an afghan.
Sheri..your not nosy silly...I do a row of double crochet around each square. The squares are all coming out pretty even so I only have to stretch or adjust a few now and then.
Thank you Denise!!!
Alwayshope...the red heart yarn does feel scratchy but it's soft after it's washed so it's ok.
Love all
Vickie -
Vickie, I am now on square #5. None of them are alike. Hmmm. Some are a bit tapered. I get the first half of them done fine and then it either starts to get longer or shorter! One of them is fairly decent. But not to worry. I've sent Amber after the Knifty Knitter so I can make squares and get them sent but can still work on my crocheting until i finally get it right. IF I ever get it figured out. Keep in mind that I have put alot of time and love in the home made ones. They won't be as pretty to look at or as easy to work with but they have Character. lol So I'm going to send them in my first batch anyway.
pals
cheri -
Cheri...the love is all that matters and rest assured they will be included in an afghan. I love the knifty knitter. I have the round ones and the rectangular ones. I prefer the rectangular ones though. I can't seem to accomplish much more than hats on the rounds ones!!
-
I think we're going for character and love, so your squares will be a beautiful addition, Cheri
-
Cheri,
Your squares will be a wonderful addition any afghan! My last batch had a few that I crocheted "under the influence," so yours will blend right in with mine!
Sue -
Yep, there are 42 squares per afghan....
Sue, I absolutely want your "under the influence" squares...Cheri, I'm thinking you are gonna send us blue squares (heehee)
Vickie, I have been doing a single crochet around each square - rather than a double....Did you do a single crochet to anchor-then go around each square again with a double crochet? I know I do a single crochet around the entire afghan, then follow with a double crochet....
Thanks everyone Madison -
Awwwwm you guys are just too sweet. Soon as I get my Knifty Knitter I'll be a squate making fool. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.

cheri -
Madison...I do a double crochet around each square then a double crochet around the entire thing. I've thought of making the border fancier but there isn't enough time...I get to excited about mailing them out!
Hug and love to all
Vickie -
Cheri,
You will love the Knifty Knitter! It doesn't hurt my wrist at all. I've made maybe atleast 75 squares (some to be mailed tomorrow.)
Actually, I was in Michaels Crafts Friday buying more yarn (big surprise!) and they had a sign up saying that they have a 2 hour class once a week to teach the Knifty Knitter!
Hugs,
Denise
