BLMMike, Perhaps she's sharing her "kill" with you. I hope it's the side of velcro that's smooth. I would worry about the side with hooks getting stuck if she tries to eat it.

Wren44 - Not to worry. It's a really soft piece of Velcro with minute teeth. Nothing for her to get caught on. She's been batting it around for years.
Interesting theory on sharing her "kill". She was a stray who just showed up on our back deck in 2012 but when she was an outside cat, she brought us real kills and left them outside the sliding glass door virtually every morning: all kinds of little dead creatures. She was quite the hunter before she moved indoors. That might just be it!

I've also read that kitties put toys in their food or water dishes because those are safe places. And my kitties love playing with a Velcro loop.

Aren't you glad they're dead? I read an article once by a guy who was living in England for a year with his family. He said they drew straws in the morning to see who had to go down first to see what the cat brought in. He decided to study how much cats were killing and solicited villagers to help keep track. It's a wonder there were any small animals left, they were so efficient.

We had a cat who loved to explore the garage and my DH was to screen him before he came in to the house to insure he left any "finds" in the garage. One night the screening failed. I was already in bed when he deposited a live mouse on my lap! I let out a scream, had two cats in hot pursuit of a live field mouse on top the bed and a DH who missed the entire show. The mouse did escape down a heating pipe hole and the two cats maintained a vigilance for the rest of the night. The one who brought the "gift" was a bit out of sorts that I did not seem to enjoy my "present". Never did see the mouse again so hopefully he booked it.

HaHa Betrayal! I cannot imagine you got any sleep that evening even with your two sentries on guard.
I had a kitty once that had all kinds of "babies" that she would drop into her food bowl. Strings, toy mice, whatever she was attached to at the moment.

feelingfeline- My first two cats, which I got when I was young and single in an apartment, were a tiger tabby and a black cat, so I find these pics amazing and bringing back good memories! Beautiful!

feelingfeline, I love them both. My first cat was a petite little tabby and my second was a very large 20# tabby. Tabby cats have a special place in my heart.

Squeakers is a black cat who is developing white spots here and there. I'm 79 and my hair is just starting to have noticeable grey. We're both a bit overweight and both are getting arthritis. I'm starting to wonder if he's older than we think. It's quite possible since the original age was an estimate by the shelter. They can be off. Recently they said a cat was 5yo - until someone dug back and discovered we'd spayed her 10 years ago. From young adult to senior in one jump. I'm hoping Squeakers lives to 20 or more.
