Cheryl, welcome.....we have such a wonderful time working with everyone's "squares" (which are really 7x9)....
Ladies, the afghan I am working on is going faster than I earlier thought it would....pacing all night waiting on word about NS....walking around and stitching the afghan....as always, each afghan is so unique..I just love them....
I'll be needing squares by the weeks-end....If anyone needs help with postage, send me a PM.....I'll help!!
Thank you so much...
I HOPE the afghan I mailed Monday reaches our recipient tomorrow.....and hope that Marisa received her afghan.
Back to my yarn....love to all and a BIG THANK YOU, Madison
Oh, Susan hummmmm I think Vickie wants a square and I know I want one of your squares....... -
Hi Madison,
Just packaged up 15 squares for you. Had great hopes of winning the Mega Millions lottery and devoting myself solely to knitting. Didn't happen, so back to work tomorrow. And back to knitting.
Cherryl -
Thank you Cherryl....I wish I could be a stay at home crocheter...but I do work. My girls are grown so I have the luxury of working on the afghans in the evenings.
Madison -
Vickie-I just wanted to let you know that I sent the check in the mail today. It's only for $25 but I hope it helps. I'm sure sometime in the future I'll be able to send more. Please let me know when you receive the check. Now I feel like I'm involved.
Everyone-keep up with this wonderful project! You guys are just beautiful, loving women! I wish I could crochet Someday once I get my s**t together with all my medical bills and house organized I'll have the time to learn.
Lots of love to everyone,
Sandy -

Message from Tami
Vickie,
Narberth is the correct address. The package has not arrived at our office but I'm sure it will soon.
When did you mail it and where did you mail it from?
Tami
I let her know that it was mailed the 21st of February, priority mail which should have taken no more than three days! My return address is on the package so hopefully if it is lost somewhere it will come back to me or get delivered to them...oh my...stressed! I will put tracking on all future packages!!! Darn. -
Hi all,
First a thank you to Doreen for the Shepgirls link to her thank you!
Second...thank you Sandy...that is very generous and kind of you...take note girls...if you need help with postage, please let me know and I will forward some money to you. I have received (including Sandy's which hasn't actually arrived yet)45.00. Spent 10.00 on yarn, 6.13 and 9.47 on postage. Leaves a balance of 19.40 when Sandy's money comes so if you need help let me know.
Will be mailing number three tomorrow and will try to post pictures tonight.
Love and hugs to all
Vickie -
Vickie, I worked on the next afghan until midnight...just couldn't put it down...bordered more squares during my lunch hour and I hope to finish this one by Thursday.....
Doreen, I reiterate Vickie's thank you to Shepgirls link.
Thanks to all, with love and hugs

Ok...another message from Tami
Vickie,
You are so kind. Thank you for your kind words about this site.
I am going to send your message to our office staff and see if anyone knows about the package. Marisa is out of town at the moment.
I will get back to you though.
Tami
Hopefully we will hear something in the next couple of days or so. Whew.
Thanks to you all...I got more squares but haven't had a chance to open them yet...just got home. Of course this is the first place I come.
My name is Vicke and I'm a boardaholic LOL
Love and hugs
Vickie -
Oh, I so hope they find the Missing Package! Atleast they are aware and on the look for it.
I should and will be knitting soon, but I just have to check in here first!
I'll be mailing squares in a day or so!
Love and Hugs,
Denise -
Just so you know the Post Office said if you send something via Prioity Mail and you have a return address on it. if it gets returned to you there is no extra cost., but if it is sent regular mail and it's returned they will charge you for the return cost. Also you can get confirmation s for about 65 cents.
You ladies are doing wonderful work. I haven't located my yarn yet so may have to go buy some so I can get started. But first I had to fisinsh Nathanials surprise. Vickie you should see it no later than the 14th -
CY, I send my packages with request for confirmation....yesterday I checked on the package that was mailed Monday...and when I typed in the confirmation number I was told (of course the computer system is saying this) that they are expecting my package to be mailed....WAIT I MAILED IT ON MONDAY!!! grrrrrr
I am going to the Post Office this morning to ask them questions...not that anyone there ever knows anything....grrrr -
Ok Ladies...another afghan done...finished it and washed and had it in the dryer at 11pm last night. Shipping it today and I will post pictures tonight!!! Yeah...you are all the very best. I showed the nurses at my appointment this morning and they are going to make us some squares!!! I won't be seeing them until May but thought that it was such a nice gesture.
Sue...I received your squares...crocheting while under the influence...pppfffttt. If I did that who knows what you'd end up with! The squares are so very pretty...love the colors. Thank you for the check you sent. I will use part of it to mail todays afghan (a wee bit broke this week so it is truly appreciated!)and I am going to send the remainder to Madison for postage help.
Now ladies...you truly don't need to send donations...all your hard work in the squares is enough. The donations are truly appreciated and I promise to use them totally for shipping or yarn if anyone is in need. With that in mind...if anyone needs help with postage or yarn...LET ME KNOW...pm me if you need something and I will help any way that I can.
You are all the best of the best.
Love and hugs
Vickie -
I went to the Post Office this morning and confirmed that the last afghan I mailed WAS shipped from Baton Rouge to the address on the box....just waiting for it to arrive at its destination.....
-
Cherryl and Sandy, welcome and thank you!!. I am soooo busy lately. I have only complete 1 square since mailing the last batch. I came up with more yarn, still working on various beiges. I actually freed up half a storage container by knitting off all those odds and ends. We got another inch of snow yesterday but thankfully it all melted off today. I am so sick of winter. -- Donna in VA

Just checking to see if the latest Afghan was posted yet! I get excited whenever I see the finished projects!!
Hugs,
Denise -
I'm officially started. I kept looking for my old yarn and never could find it. I think I must have thrown/given it away, although that would really surprise me. Went to Wal-Mart this evening and bought some really pretty blue varigated stuff and am crocheting away.
I know the squares should be 7x9 and no wool, any color. Sounds like any stitch, too. Is that right? Hope so, because I've got directions for 63 different ones from an afghan pattern book. (It's cool, squares like we're doing but the one I made for my Dad was one color and just all different textures.)
I also had an idea (in my steroid induced wakefulness) about an idea for some free/really cheep yarn. I have a friend that works at our local JoAnns. I'm going to see if they ever have yarn they discard - stuff that isn't saleable, (returns or stock that someone got all tangled) but is still good. Since these squares don't take full skeins like a sweater or something, they'd still serve our purpose. Anyway, I'm going to email my friend and see what she can tell me. I'll let you know.
Anne -
Liz, I received you squares in the mail yesterday...love the colors....thank you so much.....these squares are going in the next afghan...which I will start Saturday..
Anne, our "squares" are 7X9...I actually cut out a 7X9 cardboard to use as a "pattern" piece. Any stitch will do because each afghan we make is unique...can't find another afghan like it anywhere!!!!! I made many squares using only one skein of yarn....so a full "skein" is not necessary for our purposes......Glad you are joining us.
I will post a picture of the afghan tomorrow morning....
Thank you all so much.
Madison -
Yes yes yes...finally got the camera to let me have my pictures!!!! aauugghh...here is the latest afgan. I have another one started that I hope to finish this weekend.
-
oops...sorry it's big...can't fight with it anymore!! Sent yesterday priority mail and I can't wait for our lucky girl to get her surprise.
Love to you all and thanks
Vickie -
Vickie, the afghan is beautiful. There really is no way to get the picture smaller because you want to show everyone the individual squares.
I tracked the package mailed Monday and it is in the correct State...hopefully it will reach its destination soon.
Thanks to all, Madison -
Oh my gosh girls! The package did reach its destination, its me, its me, its me. I cant believe it! Oh my gosh! I wheeled into my driveway after working all day and sitting at baseball practice waiting for my son, tired, hungry and dinner thoughts racing through my mind. My son says, cool, what did you order? Taken by surprise I said not a thing, wonder what it is. My son jumps out of the truck and says I dunno what it is but its from a circle girl. I was so excited to have a surprise! I quickly tore into it like it was Christmas. Its beautiful! Words doesnt do it justice. The colors are great and the squares all represent each one of you. Thank you doesnt seem like enough. I felt tears forming and you know how 12 year old boys can be?!? He said, why are you crying do you not like it? I said I love it! Then he has a confused look and says then uhhh why are you crying? You never cry. I said its just so touching that they felt the need to send me a quilt. I could go on and on about the beauty of it but there is not any words that can describe my feelings. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.
Now for the next thank you! Mazer said she loves her hat and towel! She wanted me to get her picture this morning wearing her hat but I was running a bit late ( I know thats not surprising) and just didnt have the time. I will definitely get one of her this weekend and post it for all to see. If I am not mistaken she was prancing around the pasture this morning singing, Im a circle girl!
Wow, you girls really know how to make somebody feel special. Thanks again.
Amy -
WOOHOO...Afghan delivered!!! You so deserve it Amy...wrap yourself in all that love that is represented there.
-
Well I dont know about deserving because I can think of so many that are more deserving but I will certainly wrap myself up in it. I had to fight my 3 little pups away last night because they wanted to weasel in and snuggle under it.
-
You are absolutely most deserving!!!!!We all love ya!!!!
-
I have a HUGE smile on my face....we luv ya Amy. I think one of the resons you are suce a special person is that you DO think of a bunch of other people that could get a blanket too. I am so glad you liked it I think I need to go crochet another square...I LOVE this project
Hugs
Deb C -
Enjoy, Amy!
Anne -
I have some squares, just can't seem to get to the post office! I will mail them soon, I promise!
The afghan is beautiful. I'm glad you like it, Amy. I can't wait to get some of my squares in one! -
You all make me get teary eyed all over again. I keep saying why me? You all seem to forget that nothing is wrong with me, I am good and life is grand in the city of denial. I did have a slight panic during the night though and you all will understand no doubt. I woke up with my elbow hurting, actually killing me. Sure it has hurt before and I have had tendenitis many times in it but of course I dont think about that. I am laying there and I convince myself my cancer has now gone from my pelvic bone to my elbow and they must be working themselves up my body and next will be my brain. Cancer cells do that ya know?!? lol. Anyway, finally decided I was near a complete panic so why not get up and get on the sofa and wrap myself up in the blanket because I am sure to be dying in no time. Well, my SO then ask whats wrong and where am I going? I said just cant sleep so going to the sofa. Well, I can always sleep so she knows thats a lie. Needless to say I spilled my guts and she was there to remind me that we had loaded 50 bales of hay the night before and unloaded them at the barn and didnt I think that might effect my elbow?!?! Needless to say I asked her when she became a dr but the rest is history. I have decided I overdid it with the elbow and my mets is still where it should be and not progressing. Long story but I know you all will get "it".
Cant wait to leave work and find my afghan waiting for me. I didnt dare leave it on the sofa because I know some little pups that would have been happy as a lark to find a new cuddly blanket. Its mine and I am not sharing!
Amy -
50 bales of hay???? You're whole body should be in rebellion mode, not just your elbow!
