This is Elliott, the photo was taken by his foster carer. We are picking him up tomorrow, weather permitting (there is a snow forecast). He is 12 weeks old. We actually applied for a cat rather than a kit as we know kittens get homes easier than cats, but the cat charity matched us up with Elliott as we already have a cat Arthur (age 4.5) and Elliott is currently being fostered in a home that has 6 cats and shows no stress being around new cats. We have been told to keep Elliott in a separate room at first and only gradually introduce him to Arthur to give Arthur time to get used to the idea.

Exciting, feelingfeline! A new kitten. What joy!!!
Elliott is so adorable.
-
Aww, Elliott is such a cutie. Love the name
-
What a beautiful kitten! We always segregate our fosters at first. We found our cat playing patty paw under the door with one foster. Decided they would get along fine. Have fun watching them play.
-
Thanks. That is a lovely story about the patty paw kitties. We have had to put off collecting him until Tuesday due to heavy snow and gales. Second deep snow in a couple of weeks. Snow is rare here, most years we don't see any. Its quite an event when it happens and we have to pretty much close down everything as we are not equipped for it, our vehicles don't have snow tyres etc. Little Elliott is being fostered about an hours drive from our home. He will be worth the wait though.

He likes it under the covers.

Apparently he doesn’t want to be disturbed in his fort. So he just stays in there till he is ready to come out. He’ll be back under there in the middle of the night too. -

This is Elliott. He is quite timid but purrs like a lion. BIg paws on a tiny body. Makes me think he might be going to be a big cat. He has not met our cat Arthur yet. Elliott and his paraphanelia are locked in the dining room, Arthur has the rest of the house. Arthur seems relaxed but has definitely seen Elliott through the window from outside. Hoping for a happy, gradual introduction. It is not a bad thing to have Elliott confined to one room for a bit as he is so small he can hide so many places! We sometimes cant find him in the one room, it would definitely be harder in the whole house. My lovely old ladies Nina and Lakme (aka Beastie) died aged 20 and 18 in 2011, which means if you take 18 from 2011 last time I had a kitten was 1993, so I am bowled over how tiny he is. He is 12 weeks so old enough to have been adopted but he looks like an absolute baby to me.
-
peek a boo, I see you! He’s a cutie 🤩
-
He is really adorable. You're right about it being better not to have to search the whole house. Big paws probably do mean he'll be a large cat.
-
Beautiful eyes. I bet he really blossoms in your loving care. My rescues have.

I'm a bad kitty mama. I totally spaced Pearl and Wren's 6 month mark. I was counting from when we got them instead of when they were born. So, huge shock and chagrin the other day when Wren went into heat. Facepalm. She's happy and confused, pulling herself along the carpet and purr-trilling to everyone and being friendly to people, animals, and objects. The adult cats treat her like she's drunk at a party and they're embarrassed for her. Pearl isn't in heat yet, but has been trying to hump Wren and seemingly a bit punchy herself. Finn is goofily confused by his sisters' behavior (thank God we got him snipped 2 months ago), and stares at them like he's wondering WTH? The vet said their next batch of surgeries is April 6 and she'll be out of heat within 3 to 5 days. So, the girls have a date with the doc. Pearl may very well go through heat herself by then. Wren has been more reserved than the others, so her rubbing up against me in bed and trilling at me is kinda fun, but I have apologized to her. Bad me!
-
Funny! Arthur was humping the cushions when we first got him (stray aged 9 months) poor thing was being driven mad by his hormones urging him to mate. It seems cruel to give them an op but it is a balancing act - kinder for a domestic animal not to be driven mad by their own hormones, or get out and bring more homeless kittens into being when there are so many cats and kittens in shelters already looking for homes.
-
Elliott is beginning to make himself at home.
-
Elliott is so adorable. Love those little tufts of fur at the top of his ears. He has eyes that I could easily get lost in. Lucky you and lucky him.
-
Elliott is such a handsome kitty! I love his coloring.

Riley, when my sweet Tacey went into heat the first time it was AFTER I had her fixed. She got up on my lap with her front paws on my shoulders and her back feet digging and kicking into my legs and crying Maaama. I was perplexed. She was so small that when they did the surgery they missed a few CELLS. Poor baby. We had blood work done and the vet was like... you are right! She’s in heat! So we had to have her fixed again. I felt like the worst kitty mama ever. (I know it wasn’t my fault, but the poor girl ended up getting fixed 3 times.) The vet was wonderful, even had another vet stand in with her in surgery the 2nd and 3rd times trying to make sure they got it all. Whew!
-
TaRenee - Oh gosh, your poor sweet baby went through a lot to get fixed.
Our big boy male cat Ben (now deceased) although fixed, used to try to "dominate & subdue" our female Ivy (now deceased) as if he still had everything in working order. He was a "street cat" before being in a no kill shelter, so I guess he still remembered the old days. Has anyone seen the TV commercials for Scooter the neutered cat? They make me laugh every time.
-
I love those ads!
-
Those are really cute. Our volunteer T shirts at the shelter say foster, adopt, neuter, spay. A woman from S. Carolina bought one. She and her husband run a low cost spay and neuter clinic. Donations help them keep the price affordable at $20.

In my early 20's I lived in Islington (north London) for a year. There was a local feral cat TNR charity and I bought their sweatshirt advocating neutering (still have it) the above was the logo.
-
There was a feral TNR group here. Their t shirt said "sexless in Seattle until every cat has a home". This was when the film Sleepless in Seattle was popular.
-
-
feelingfeline - I also lived in North London, in Muswell Hill, and remember Islington. DD was born at Whittington Hospital, which oddly enough, has a cat as an emblem.
-
I think that's because of the famous Middle Ages London Mayor Dick Whittington. He was a real person, but had a cat which has become part of the legends surrounding the man and is just as famous

In case of interest to anyone: Vermont based small business Birds Be Safe which makes unique colourful collars for people to put on bird-hunting cats, (to make them more visible to birds), is up for a FedEx small business development grant. I have purchased Birds Be Safe collars so got an email about this.
Its a public vote thing so if you are interested in voting for them it is at

Arthur(L) and Elliott(R). Elliott is a bit in the foreground so looks bigger than he actually is. He is still a baby at 14 weeks. Arthur is generally tolerating him well. Just the odd hisss when Elliott does (what kittens do) and pounces on Arthur's tail. For the most part he is taking the newcomer very well.
-
Beautiful kitties and beautiful photo.
-
Feline, great shot of the boys!
