HomeMom: sorry I've been off the boards for a while. I believe there is more information posted now, a schedule of events, that was not available when I posted that link in June. There are speakers, and my understanding is that there is stands with products,, at least according to my LE therapist who has been to them before.

Hi Orlando crew,
Our thoughts are with all in the path of Hurricane Irma. Many of you may be wondering how to manage evacuation while undergoing breast cancer treatment. Breastcancer.org has developed this page, Ways to Prepare for a Natural Disaster, to help.
We hope this helps and that you all stay safe!

Hi friends. Reaching out to see if anyone from the area would be interested in meeting some of our BCo sisters from all over the country who will be hanging out in Daytona Beach next month. Let me know and I will get information out to you. We are looking at those who may want to come only for a day to have lunch on Wednesday, November 8th. PM is probably best but I will try and monitor this thread in case some respond here.
Thanks, patoo (Phyllis)

Hi Patoo! How have you been? I just wanted to say hi, unfortunately I can't go. I'm no longer living in Orlando, I'm on the Naples area. But I'll be there in spirit. Will be praying for you all.

Hi Aurora, nice to hear from you. I'm doing well, just enjoying life. Pray all is well with you too.
Hi, everyone else!
-
I am new to this site so am trying to figure out where I "belong." I live in The Villages, south of Ocala. I would love to get together with women from my area but can certainly travel to other parts of the state (like Orlando area or Tampa). I did join a support group near me for a short time, but didn't feel it was for me.
I was diagnosed with ILC left breast in March, 2017 and had a double mastectomy on May 3, 2017. The cancer was contained and I had nothing in the 4 lymph nodes (sentinel, axillary, and two others). So I am on hormone therapy for at least 5 years - Arimidex and Fosomax.
I filled out all of my information - diagnosis, treatment, etc. - on my Profile page and I have no idea why it's not showing up. I guess I'm not as computer savvy as I thought I was!!
Hope to hear from you!

Hi Ann and welcome. I used to be in the Orlando area but moved to the Naples area. There are at least to sisters living in The Villages area I’m sure they’ll get in touch soon. I just wanted to welcome you and let you know that as soon as you make your profile “public “ in the settings then we will be able to see your background.
Sending hugs
Aurora

Thanks! I went back to my Profile page and finally figured out what I did wrong, so now you should be abl to see my diagnosis, etc.
Hoping to hear from those gals closer to The Villages

Hi Snickersmom, got and answered your PM. Yes, there are 2 of us here in TV, the other being mysunshine (Lynn). She is down near you in Clifford Villas (across from the new Walmart). Look forward to meeting you soon.
-
I looked for Lynn but there are a bunch of mysunshines listed - which one is she?
Thanks.

Hello, Ladies
I am still here in Winter Springs, FL. just done w all surgeries and treatments. love to meet other sisters in the Orlando area,
-
Hi Mimi,
Good to hear from you! Where is Winter Springs? I know there's Winter Garden and Winter Haven but never heard of Winter Springs. I am in The Villages and have just heard from 2 others who also live in The Villages so I'll be getting together with them soon.
I just looked up Winter Springs and you are only about 65 miles from us. So not far at all! We are in Massachusetts visiting our kids but will be flying back home tonight. I'll be in touch in a few days and we can figure something out.

Hi Mimi and Ann, the Orlando contingent met but it was well over a year ago. Perhaps in the new year we can get together again.
-
Hi Snickersmom, I'm up in Gainesville. Have not had a chance to meet the ladies in person yet,, but wanted to say hi and welcome you
glennie
-
Thanks, Glennie. I'm fairly new to this site - and to this whole BC thing - but it's so great to have so much support from everyone here. I'm learning that everything I'm feeling is pretty normal, and that has made me feel a lot better
-
Hi everyone, sorry I missed the get together. November is my company's fiscal year end, tough to get away. Snickersmom, Winter Springs is on the north east side of Orlando - between Longwood and Oviedo.
-
Hi HOmeMom, Snickersmom and I went to the Tampa get together. The Orlando gals have not met for awhile but hopefully in the new year we will do so.
Hi to all.
Phyllis

I see that this thread hasn't been active for a long time, but still wanted to say hi to those in the Orlando area. I'm in Oviedo.
-
Hi LMS! I live in Deland...not too far.
There is also a thread called Tampa area BCO you might want to check out. Sometimes we get together for lunch. I have not been able to ever go, but hope to in the future.
Lynn

I'm in The Villages. I think that's only an hour or so from Deland and I don't know how far from Oviedo. Maybe we could meet up somewhere?
-
Hi Everyone. I've been so busy with life that I am just coming back to this website after about a year. I was in Clermont and now we live downtown Orlando. Loving it here, and will love it more when we are out of this pandemic!!
