HomeMom, I say GO. Attacks can happen anywhere, anytime. I lived in NYC when 9/11 happened. After that, I knew we would never be safe again. Now, I wouldn't go to Iraq or some other countries,,, but France,, yeah,, I'd go. Keep us posted after you talk to your sister in law.
-
So I talked to my sister n law, she isn't worried. She decided though that we would not check our bags so we don't hang around the baggage area waiting. We just go right through and we'd be out in 20 minutes. She also said we can take a cab instead of the metro. Don't know if that is enough for me. We have plans to go to London for the day taking that train that goes under the water and we also are going to a church on Easter that has an organ that is the oldest one known. Good grief, I want to go and have fun, but I don't know if I will let myself.
She said I have to do what makes me comfortable and not worry about anyone else. I don't want to regret NOT going either! Only way I'll win here is if I go, have fun, nothing happens and I come home safe. UGH!!!
-
I agree- go.
My daughter and I got to Europe (Italy and France) for 2 weeks in mid May. If we live in fear = they win.
I had a total of 6 nodes taken (2 and 4) and all were negative. Also my oncotype score was a : 2!
So no rads for me.
-
HomeMom,,, if it makes you feel better,,, since this just happened,, the authorities will all be on high alert for any trouble. They will be checking and double, triple checking everything and everybody.
-
Ok, so as of right now I'm still going. I have not talked to my mom, but I guess I should. blah.
-
Mom will freak,,, be prepared. I know mine would be,,,,,
-
I gotta stop watching CNN et al. I'm waivering again! I know my mom saw the news this morning, that is when she called me. I'm not ready to hear how the sky is falling.
-
Homemom, 1. Call your mom. 2. Pack. 3. Go. 4. Have fun!
-
coming to my time share in Kissimmee at the beginning of May. It's been 3 years since I have been down here. Anyone want to meet if I get the time?
Maryann from NJ
-
Hi Maryann
I'm originally from Jersey as well. Moved here though when I was a kid in 1975. I'm off to Europe tomorrow but I get back on the 3rd. I'm sure we will plan another get together.
-
Haven't been on for days but guessing HomeMom got off and is having a great time. I went to Israel in 2013 about 6 weeks after it was bombed and there was also a bombing while we were there. We were absolutely safe and I would not hesitate to go back. We cannot live in fear.
Jerseygirl, let us know your dates and we will see.
I'm going to register for the Orlando runDisney 5K in November. Anyone interested (you can run or jog or walk). It's through Animal Kingdom. I did it in 2012 pushing my son in a wheelchair through Epcot and will push him again this year. Registration opens March 29th and fills up fast.
-
Do you have the dates handy, Patoo?

Yes glennie and you have to be there around 5:30am for lineup, etc. jbokland, I will be registering myself and my son when registration opens on Tuesday. mysunshine, my son and I will probably stay at a Disney hotel the night before just to make it easier to rent/transport a manual wheelchair back and forth and especially to get there so early. Let's discuss.
Happy Easter everyone. I'm off to dinner at a friend.
-
Just went on to runDisney website to register and it's already sold out . Good grief, registration opened not even 4 hours ago. I was looking forward to it, phooey!
