That's funny my daughter and family came at xmas it was a mixed blessing. So I hear you!! I've got more years in me absolutely hope my finances see me through. I'd hate to go with money left over!!
-
Chiming in to say HI to everyone. Hope the New Year is being kind to you all. I'm doing well but very busy with life. Perhaps sometime in the spring we can get together once again.
Blessings.
-
Pammac - you can't take it with you!
patoo - I've thought about that recently
-
Homemom-
Exactly and I'm waiting on a biopsy and MRI so some days are just about what The hell lately 😇
-
Quick post-my bedtime
Biopsy was fine Barrett's Esophagus grew in size and have gastritis, I'll consider that a win!! MRI results are tomorrow...
-
Pammac - Great news! I had to have another biopsy on my other boob in April - totally benign
-
Waving to all my BC sister. Glad to see everyone is doing well.
Pammac- Good new is always welcomed. Hope you have the same news in April. B9
I was just diagnosed with ff lymphoma. Have not needed chemo as of yet . I am on watch and wait until treatment is needed. I am starting to accept what happening and excepting i slowly. I think i have a better chance with this than having another BC.
The hope the ugly beast stays away from everyone else.
hugs to all

I don't know if anyone actively meets, but I'm in Clermont, fl. I was dx last year. It's always nice to connect with others who share your experience.
-
Hi ShannaM, I'm in The Villages so very near to you. Hopefully we will get to meetup this spring but if you need support don't hesitate to PM me.
Phyllis
-
Hi Shanna - I am in Clermont - send me a PM.
-
Finally I found BC sisters in my area.
I live in Winter Springs, FL. Official DX on my 47th Birthday. Surgery was done 2 and half wks ago. Blessed w clear margins on both. Oncologist appt the day after tomorrow. I honestly cannot wait to start 8 rounds of chemo. P.S. I want my chemopause. Blissfully married to DH and a faithful dog.
-
Reba, welcome to the forum, I no longer live in the Orlando area, but I started the thread so I thought I welcome you. There are others in the area and I'm sure they will be welcoming you as well.
Aurora

Welcome Reba! I live in Clermont - that's great news about the clear margins! I have my husband and three boys plus two GIRL dogs. Two of the three are out of the house, so we are thinking of downsizing. Possibly to the east side somewhere.
Aurora - where did you move to??
-
Hi Home Mom my family and I moved to Ave María which is a suburb in Naples. My daughter passed the Bar exam and got a job as a lawyer for Legal Aide in Naples. It's nice over here but also lonelier. I hope to see you gals continue the tradition and do get togethers.

Hi all! Welcome to the new girls. I am in The Villages with Phyllis, so, yes, let's plan a get together. We could maybe have it in The Villages and then come to my house.....sort of what we did in Mt. Dora last year.
Auroaya, I used to live in Bonita Springs and visited Ava Maria. It is pretty there. I have been considering moving back that way and considering Ava Maria. Do you find it too far away from anywhere! That is my concern.....sort of isolated. Are you in the Del Webb part?
Anyone needing information or support, PM me. I went through training and am a Reach to Recovery coach.
Enjoy the beautiful spring weather and be thankful for every day we are blessed with!
Lynn

Hi Lynn no I'm not in Del Web I'm in Maple Ridge. I love it here! But I'm permanently disabled so I don't get out too much. I go to Naples for my chemo and there is a para transit bus that takes me there door to door for $3 each way.
My daughter works two days out of the week from Naples and three from Imakolee. She goes shopping to Walmart/Sams in Naples once a week when she comes out of her job.
During the week if we are missing any items there is a Publix here in Ave Maria. Medicines are from Walgreens in Imakolee. There's a clinic here in Ave Maria which is where I see my PCP.
So all in all I don't find it too isolating.
They have a playground and a water park. And of course the shoppes at the circle center and the church.
Let me know if you want any other info, you can PM me.

Hello everyone, I haven't been on BCo for a couple months - just busy being busy (a good thing!)
Haven't seen any responses to Lynn's invitation to get together here in The Villages and afterwards at her home, before she abandons me by moving elsewhere.
Wanted to let you know that some of us on the 'Let's Post our Daily Exercise' thread have gotten together for the past 6 years, 4-5 days. The core group started out as 4 and is now up to 5 or 6 with others joining for all or part of our trips. We have been to Minneapolis, Chicago, Maryland/DC, San Francisco via Los Angeles, San Diego CA and San Antonio TX and usually BCO sisters in the area will meet us somewhere for lunch or just to hang out.
This year - Daytona Beach FL!!!!! We have booked 5 nights at the Wyndham Ocean Walk, arriving November 5 with departure November 10th and would like to know if any of you are interested in a meetup during that time for lunch, dinner, hang out on the beach, whatever. Actually, we have confirmed 6 and possibly 8 staying at the 3BR condo. The layout specifies sleeps up to 10 so you could stay over if you wish (but you must be flexible on sleeping arrangements). Let me know your thoughts if you would be interested in meeting this fun group of your BCo sisters.

I haven't been around the forum much lately, so I'm happy to see there are still people posting in this thread.
I live in downtown Orlando and can likely do a Daytona meetup in November. -
Too bad I'm not in Orlando anymore I'm all the way down in Naples so I doubt I can meet you guys. But by all means please continue the tradition .
Aurora
-
Yay, IrishEyes, please PM me your email address so you can be added to the trip email list and we can coordinate when you want to come. You are also invited to stay over one or more nights or play it by ear.
-
Do you have my email patoo?
-
Just stopped by to say hi to all my BC sisters. I am so happy to see another reunion about to happen. I would like to join you ladies for at least one day or lunch. I am just 30 minutes away from our beautiful Dayton beach. Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs to all.
-
Hi everyone,
I just saw this thread. I live in the Orlando area too (Winter Garden) 4 years. I was just diagnosed on March 1 and had a double mastectomy April 24 with expanders. I go to the oncologist tomorrow to find out my Oncotype DX score so am feeling a bit anxious. I would love to get together and meet others who share this journey.
Best,
Lisa

I'm in Clermont and own a small condo in Daytona Beach Shores - I am usually there twice a month
-
Hi Kagima3, welcome to BCo though we don't really enjoy meeting in this manner. Please try not to overly stress (you will stress just because that's the nature of this disease) as many strides have been made in treatment options. BCo is a great place for cyber-support so browse the threads and don't be afraid to ask questions. We have all been where you are.
As you may have read above somewhere, some of our BCO sisters from around the country are gathering in Daytona Beach November 5-10 so if your calendar permits you are invited to join us for a day or more (more=being flexible in our accommodations!). If interested just PM me (click on my screenname) your full name and email address.
Hello to all my Orlando area friends!
-
Hello Orlando peeps.
Wanted to mention that there is a National Lymphedema Conf in Orlando in Oct, in case any of you want to attend. I'll be driving down from Gainesville for it. Here's a link to the schedule and registration. If anyone is thinking of attending, let me know. Would love to meet y'all.

Hi Patoo,
Thanks for your reply. I found out my Oncotype DX score was 36. I just had my port placed today. I will start chemo on Tuesday the 20th and will receive 4 rounds of AC every two weeks followed by 12 Taxol weekly. I will send you my info, I really would love to meet or talk with others who have been through this.
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your PM as I don't get to BCo nearly as much as before. I have asked ruthbru who coordinates to add you to the email thread so you get updates. I (or ruthbru) will also be sending past information to our FL sisters that may have gone out before you all expressed interest in meeting.

Hi Lisa.I'm on vacation right now but will add you to the list when I get home in the middle of next week. We would love for you to join us. Hang in there. The worst part is making the decisions.....then you just do it and get it over with.

I'm looking into the conference, it doesn't give you much details on what you will experience for the $150 -- $200. Are there free speakers? Stands with products?
