For those starting chemo in June

Hi--Me again--I went for a walk with Dash when I got back tonight and when we were walking back, the sun started to go down and the coyotes started howling to the East and South of us. It was eerie. I hate the sound of coyotes. It's really, really creepy. The ones to the East are on the neighbors land, but the ones to the South that were answering them are on my land. Yuck!! Well, gonna go shower and head for bed. Nite--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Mary, poor ol Toolin' Tim. He just can't get it right no matter what. Nancylee, you live in a very interesting corner of our world. I bet it is beautiful up there....cold...but beautiful. PJ, is Texas freezing over like Georgia? Spending big bucks warming up my car.
Be good ladies.

Oh, no, it was absolutely GORGEOUS today. Like weather should be.
Well, I've got to get out and buy my xmas cards pretty soon, I guess. I went to Hallmark, but boy, they want an arm and a leg for those cards. They also had these weird "breathing" stuffed animals. Talk about creepy.
Looks like I'm getting up at dawn Sunday to try to get a Nintendo Wii. My ebay efforts didn't pay off (I offered to go up to 285 and the think sold for 660!). And if that doesn't work, well, I guess we'll have better luck AFTER the holidays.
Hope you all are having a good one,
Paula -
Gosh P.J. I saw some at Toys r us a couple wks. ago. They are probably gone by now . They just got them in. If I had known I could of picked you one up. My grandsons are wanting the PS3 but my daughter has grinched that number. Theres no way I am spending that kinda money when they will drop the price in about 6 months (or after x-mas). My one grandson wants the wii but he just decided a few days ago(no doubt when he found out the PS3 was off the "to get list"). I don't know if he is getting wii it or not. Well I can assure you that where Nancy Lee lives is beautiful. It is postcard beautiful. We have cyotes here too in the country. They don't hurt anyone but animals. They have with wild dogs treed people for hours out by the rivers and woods. Better get girls. The temp was in the 40's today but it has rained hard all day and tomorrow too. I think it is going to be 50 tomorrow. Hubby is going to Dr. about neck surgery so he is coming in early tomorrow and leaving after Dr. I gotta get. Janie hope you don't get too cold. Mary

Ok--So it said on the door of the K-mart that I went into last week--We have a limited supply of Wii's--only one per customer. I didn't even know what they were talking about!! That's how far I am away from the electronic world. So I guess I could have gotten one also if I'd only known. I have HIVES tonight and general itchiness everywhere. I took a load of Benedryl and it's kinda subsiding at the moment. Now the cause???? I thought back over my entire day and the only thing I ate that I've never eaten before is a Pine Nut. And that was just ONE little yucky nut because I thought it tasted like chalk and I didn't want another one. What a wonderfully strange body I inhabit. I got myself another Betta today. He's a beauty. He's mostly bright blue with a little red. I told the lady at the pet store that I finally got over the loss of Barney Betta and was ready to try another one. She looked at me like I was nuts. He is probably Barney II. He rode in a sack hanging from the mirror in my jeep all the way back from Miles City. My friend Cindy and I went up there so I could make my yearly mortgage payment on the ranch. We had a fun day except I'm rethinking trying that stupid Pine Nut that she offered me. She bought them at the grocery store up there for her mom because she said she'd never tried one, but her mom raves about them. So we both tried one--Yuck. What is a pine nut anyway??? Gotta quit and head for bed. Nite all--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Hey all,
Well, my kids are grown and I have no grandkids yet, so the Wii is a mystery to me as well. Nancylee, the only time I have had pinenuts is in pesto sauce along with basil etc. mixed with pasta, and it is really good, but I haven't tried them solo. I love linguine with pesto sauce with grilled shrimp. It is difficult to find a restaurant that serves up that particular combo around here anymore.
Well, my oldest and youngest and I will be defending our restaurant triva championship tonight. Once again, the Spanish Inquisition will GO DOWN!!!! BTW, they are not Spanish. (Each team chooses a team name....some keep the same one....we change ours weekly).
Stay warm and sassy, -
So we find out that you're supposed to roast the pine nuts and that's why they tasted so gross. But I guess I'd better not try them again after yesterday. I just have a little stray itchiness today and I took an Allegra 180 this morning for my drippy nose and it kinda took care of the itchies too. I opened the daycare at 6:30 and then taught preschool from 8:30 til 10:00 and then worked in the daycare til 11:30 and then ran up to Glendive to have lunch with a friend. We had most excellent Honey Mustard glazed almond salads and then walked around the nearby dollar store for the next hour to get little Christmas doodads and walk off the meal. Then we went to the grocery store and got a few things I needed for the daycare and then to K-Mart for a short while. They had this group in K-Mart who were ringing bells that were on these bars and they each had a key like A-flat or B# on them. You know what I mean. And they were all dressed in red and had these white gloves on. It really sounded cool. I could have stood there and listened to them for a long time. You could hear them pretty much all over the store. Well, that was my WOW moment for the day!! Gonna go write a few Christmas cards. Hope everyone had a fun day~!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, Stay away from pine nuts. I didn't think anyone had as bad of luck as me but I think you may just have me beat. Janie, any news from L.A.? I think I have my shopping done except for hubby and I am going to Lowes today and get him some tools. I will keep my eyes and ears open on the wii and if I hear of someplace I will get in touch with u P.J. I have to take a grandson to school so I better get. Later, ahhhh, it is going to be 56 today. Happy shopping, Mary
-
Janie, did you and the kids retain your restaurant title? They have a restaurant in Springfield called Damens and they do the trivia game. I played a couple times. I think I have my shopping done. Now I have to pay some bills and I will be good to go. Darn bills come due every month, I don't like that set up. Later girls, Mary
-
Hey - Mary, they had several meetings....now it is just wait and see.
We placed 3rd this time. We won the last two. This time there were too many questions about things like heavy metal bands etc. However, I do think I was the only one in the restaurant who knew what gospel singer sung at JFK's innaug. .... because I REMEMBER it. It sounds like it is all musical type questions, but it is a hodge podge of many things. Third place is better than nothing. We used to have a Damen's and also used to have one in my hometown in TN. They are both gone now....too bad...I liked them. The trivia they played was on a screen. The one we do now is read over a microphone. -
Hi girls,
Just popping in to say hi.
Hey, Mary, did that whole swallowing thing resolve itself?
I've been Wii hunting all week, all for naught. Now I'm going to get up around 5:30 in the morning to go hang out at Target and hope I'm one of the first 6 in line (as they 're only getting 6). If not, I have a backup plan.
Almost hot here today. Should be interesting to see what Christmas is like. Only have a few more gifts to get.... Oh and ALL my cards yet to send out. Better put that on tomorrow's to-do list. After I come home and nap.
Later,

The throat is gone so I think the thyroid was most of it. I think I get spasms when I get nerveous too(I get a little bit once in a while but not bad like when my thyroid was swollen). I was in Wally yesterday and they announced they had 3 PS 3's and I saw my grandson's face with that big smile because thats all he wants for x-mas(this is the 14 year old). I looked like the wicked witch of the west on her bike in Wiz. of Oz. pushing my cart and I was over all the way on the other side of the store. I was dodging old people and eyeing the people on the other isles and I took the shortes route and I made it!!!! #3 in line and I whipped out a credit card and charged that thing and felt like I had defeated the 20 or so others that were in the race. It became a quest after 2 isles of people racing to the electronic's dept. I was buying hamberger so I was far from the electronics. I called my daughter and told her so she came by and got $2.00 to play the lottery because that was shear luck. Our Wally wasn't to get any more in and I just happened to be there when they got them and announced it on the speaker. My daughter is paying me for it and she was excited because she knew she would never get one by x-mas. I told her I would pay some of it because I just want to. Well, I wish your son good news Janie. I bet Nancy may be getting some of that bad storm. Batten down the hatches there Nancy. I hope it don't make its way here but I think it is going to cool off in the 40's Mon. or Tue. Gosh it has been so nice! Better get girls. Nity nite, Mary
-
Hey, Mary, good job! I hope you didn't maim anyone....
-
Mary! I can just visualize the whole thing now! You go girl! Congrats on winning the race at Wally!
It has been somewhat cool at night but hitting near 70 during the day here...... really nice. Only 3 days left until Christmas break (I am a die-hard, refuse to say "Winter" break -- most of us in the schools do still openly celebrate Christmas, although our system calendar says Winter). It will be a busy 3 days wrapping up everything.
Have a good day ladies -
SUCCESS! Got a Wii....
-
Hey Girls, I wonder why we can show support for everything except God? I thought we have fought wars and are fighting one now for the right to speak and believe in anything we want. I go to weddings and funerals of all kinds of faith or lack there of and it doesn't bother me. I have the right not to go or go. I don't go to church every Sunday, o.k. seldom but....I like the fact it is there when I want to go. I can blame God for my misfortune when there is no one else to blame(the toolman)and I can thank him when I have no else to thank. I can also rest easier thinking there is something else after death, not just darkness and nothing. Just my thoughts. Mary
-
CONGRADS P.J. on a quest well done...I almost had to get a second mortgage to pay for the P.S.3, Wally is offering that option during the hollidays. Mary
-
Mary, what happened with the support for God thing? Did someone say something to you?
-
Yea, a clerk at a store told me she got into trouble for saying Merry X-mas to a friend of hers while at work at the store. I don't blame anyone for my mistakes and especially God, I was joking there. I am to blame for my problems but sometimes I think some higher power has to step in because I have a stroke of luck that just isn't my doings. I will take all the luck I can get. Sorry, Janie mentioned the winter break thing and it just brought up the poor clerk. I just thought of how much money we give the stores buying presents and they are affraid to say Merry Christmas. Oh well, I got on my soap box and I am sorry. Mary
-
Oh; I got my hair cut. It was shoulder length and it is jaw length now. It is different. My hair was so dry and thick. She had to thin it out a lot. It looks better. My 2nd. hair cut since it grew back. Mary
-
Yeah, it doesn't seem like they should get in trouble. That's pretty ridiculous.
I bet your hair looks great. My brows and lashes are pretty much still holding out on me.
Well, just two days till Nathan's out for Christmas break. So I'll have a weird schedule over the next few weeks. Maybe I"ll even get time to get cards out later this week.
Janie, Nancy, hope things are well.
Paula -
I cannot believe Christmas is just a week away! I have to take a dish to one school for breakfast and another for lunch tomorrow. So, I have been busy as a bee. Know what? This dang sleeve gets in the way of major cooking. I finally took it off. Know I am not supposed to...but far too much trouble to leave it on. Later ya'll.
-
Janie, you go girl. I have cookies to make and we are doing my family x-mas eve so I have to plan something. Gotta get grandson to school. Later you little Christmas elves. Mary
-
Hey kiddos, I had to wade through 3 pages to find you guys tonight. The board has been busy. Everything has been so-so here today. Renewed my psych license, switched car insurance.....all boring stuff.....but sometimes boring is good. Weather still really unseasonably warm.
We do Christmas Eve too Mary. Everyone have a good time baking and wrapping and shopping and racing for the last item in the store................... -
Hey guys, I am baking and decorating, I can't just ice I have to do things my way and I wish I didn't like to bake and cook sometimes. I drive myself nuts, o.k. girls, nuttier than I already am. I like presentation, what a quacker I am. My cookies have to look like they came outta Martha's kitchen or some darn magizine. I don't know why I am like that. I am artsy, I like to do things artsy and different. I like to make pretty things. Wish I could make my face!!!!!! There is a challenge! Well better get to the cookies. I will be sick of those dawgs pretty soon. The rest will be round and sugar on top. Thats how artsy I am when I get tired of it. Later you little cookie cutters. Mary
-
Mary, I'm joining you in baking-land tomorrow. Mine won't be pretty, but they'll be good and fattening. Making sugar cookies, cupcakes (Nathan), toffee bars and pumpkin bread.
Only one gift yet to get (Nathan's for my husband). Everything else is wrapped and ready to go. It's going to be a great Christmas for us all. Hey, we even have a 20 percent chance of snow on Christmas. THAT would be weird.
later,
paula -
Hey ya'll,Yea I been a watchin Paula Dean. I always think of Janie when I watch her. I got some cookies done and I have to go get crap for X-mas eve and food for hubby and I x-mas day. The kids come over early and eat breakfast because the grandkids like to come and get their prezez early. I took a short cut there. I am just going to go to Janie's then P.J.'s and have cookies then I don't have to bake. Nancy hasn't been around lately so I hope she is o.k. I have to get an apt. with my dermatologist, I been meaning to and forgot so I wrote myself a note. I have some squamous cell skin cancer back again on my neck. I wonder if that is what showed up in my blood work? Probably not but the B.C. I had was a squamous cell. Oh well, I will get it burnt off again. I have had it twice now. I had a big patch taken out of my shoulder because my reg. Dr. thought it was a rash for a year and a half so it had gone almost to the bone and they had to take out a big ol chunk but it isn't noticable. The other spot was burnt off because now I know what it looks like and itches like so I go early. Well better get, later little bakeroos. Mary
-
Hey Girls,
Baking and wrapping and cooking!!!!!!! Sounds like you have Christmas spirit bigtime. Speaking of Paula Deen and her Southern cooking, I have chicken and dumplings on as we speak. I am thinking of tackling the old fashioned homemade fudge.......what I call the real fudge. We won trivia last night. It was a special Christmas version. Had company today from mid morning to mid afternoon. Getting ready to do something Christmasy. Christmas hugs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> -
Hi All,
Just sticking my head in the door to say I hope you are having a very happy days of Christmas. -
My computer has been on the fritz again. Leaving in a few minutes to drive to Jordan and pick up a friend and then up to Plentywood for Christmas. Will get in late tonight, but brother and family are in Williston, ND today doing some last minute shopping so we should get there when they do. Just finished gathering all my stuff and getting it in bags for under the tree. I didn't wrap anything--just got one of those pretty bags for everyone and filled them up. Kinda like a giant stocking. I will try to get online to wish you all a Merry Christmas on Monday, but in case I don't--HO HO HO--right now--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
