Hey you little Christmas Cutters, My brother fell down the steps at his house and broke ribs, collasped both lungs and broke his wrist and boy, he is in a pickle but doing better. I spent all day and eve at the hosp. with him yesterday. I have to clean today and get ready for kids and sibs. by 3. Ain't gonna happen. I don't care either. I will vacume and run the duster and clean the toilet and call it a day. Gotta get. Have a Great Exmas. Eve. Mary
-
Hey all, Mary my goodness. The calamadies never cease for you. I would not worry about the house. I just sneaked away for a few minutes from my crowd. We just ate and will open gifts sometime tonight. They come back for the big meal tomorrow. Hope everyone is enjoying the families. Merry Christmas Eve and Day.
-
Merry Christmas you guys! Finally got everyone in from their respective flights and the presents are awaiting us after church!
Paula -
Hey you little yule tiders Merry Christmas. Kids and grandkids over this a.m. and now it is the toolman and me. I have to make a hospital run later but got a ham in cooking and hubby is trying to figure out how to work his Sirus radio. Son got him to listen to races in his truck. Boy, son should be here to help because toolman just looks at the instructions and says "I don't know." That will cost us a trip to the "Geek Squad". I got my flat screen so I am happy. The best of all is the smiles on the grandkids faces when they open their presents. I hope you all got everything you want and a few surprises but we are with our families so thats a great Christmas. Enjoy all the food. Mary
-
Merry Christmas to my sisters---I'm stuffed with turkey and all the trimmings and was watching football in the living room with my brother, the Cowboy fan, until it got grim. Thought I'd run over here to the computer and wish you all a cool yule. Nite!!!!!!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Merry Christmas Everyone!
It sounds as if everybody had a nice day and we are all feeling stuffed and and contented like the cow on the commercial. No insult intended. I love cows. I think they are beautiful with their big ol eyes. -
Moooooo....
-
Janie--Cows are really stupid with a capital S animals. I can't stand them. Maybe it comes from being stepped on by one or two in my day. Calves are really cute, but then they grow up into stupid cows!! Personal opinion. I'm back home and repairing the damage my Mom's cat did to the house while I was away. I locked him out of the bathroom and my bedroom so it was mainly confined to the kitchen and utility room. He got into Everything! SIGH!! Well, gonna finish up the cleaning and go to bed as I have to open the daycare again in the morning. Back to work--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Maybe that is the reason for "contented cows" -- ignorance is bliss, or so they say.
We don't have to go back until Tuesday. I am 240 miles away from work right now....maybe I will just keep on trucking the other way down the road..... nah... I have sort of become acustomed to having a roof over my head ... guess I will go back and continue with the paycheck.
Hope all is well with everyone. -
Gosh--It took me almost 45 minutes to drive home last night instead of 15. I was in this mass of swirling heavy snow. Not fun!! I don't like to drive in blizzards even though I know this road with my eyes closed. This morning it's cold and the ground is finally white so we'll have a white New Year's instead of a white Christmas. Oh, well. I'm home this morning supposedly doing end of the year books, but I think that I'll leave all that for this weekend and watch a little TV and do a little more house cleaning. I have to go to work at 10:30. We enrolled 2 more infants--3 months old each yesterday. They start after the first of the year. That should be interesting. Well, happy Friday everyone. Well hello girls, another year older and another year under our belts. Well I turned 53 12/20 so that was no recent goings on there. I lived next to a cow pasture growing up. They don't do much but I don't either any more. I use to watch them swat the flies with their tail, yea I was pretty busy as a kid. I never remember seeing them actually hit a fly. Maybe I blinked.....Anyway, P.J. must be playing that wii. I bet shes hooked....It happens to the best of us. Hubby on his way home and I know he is dying to play with the new toys(tools) he got for x-mas. He is on his way to Chi. so he will drive like he means it today, I am beginning to think thats when he makes the money, when he wants to get home.... Crap, what will he fix? nothings broke...yet. Lord help us..every one. My bro. gets out of the hosp. tomorrow after a wk. of his lungs collapsing. They found so many little holes they couldn't count them all. Well, I better get and put on the jammies. My Lord the weather is GREAT!!!! I don't even have to wear my insulated undies...Nancy, you better get yours on. Later you little snow bunnies. Mary
-
Happy Late Birthday, Mary, you young thing, and what exactly makes you think I don't already have my insulated undies on???? Did you know that a cow can stick her tongue right up her nose with no problem whatsoever? It fits exactly in there. It's another yucky cow fact that I know. It's really cold here and snowy and blowy. I already fed the dog, cat and fish and intend to jump into my jammies and crawl under my electric blanket and read for awhile. Oh, watch your footing--my friend walked across a patch of ice yesterday and lost her footing and fell bashing her head and now has five nice stitches in her head and a black eye to show for her trouble. I walk on the ice like a hundred year old woman, but so far I haven't fallen. Be careful out there!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Hi, girls. Glad I'm missing out on the snow. We had lots of tornadoes around here yesterday, but none here in town, luckily. My mom and sister flew out today after tending to a very sick Nathan yesterday. He's doing quite a bit better today.
I've got to admit; I've been doing my fair share of playing the Wii. It IS a blast.
Janie, we've got a whole nother week to go before school starts again. Sheesh.
Mary, hope your bro does well. What are the holes from? Blech.
Later, girls,
Paula -
Hey girls, P.j. the holes are from the many broken ribs from falling down the basement steps. Well Nancy from your picture I don't think you look as old as me. P.J. the kids get me playing their games on the puter and P.S.2 and I get hooked. I forget what button does what and I lose. We are taking my son out for his birthday eat out(and his family). His birthday was last March. We are running a little behind. We are going to Texas Roadhouse in Decatur. It is about 30 mins. away. I have never been there but son has and likes it. We are hanging out at home I think for New Years. Well, better get going and get ready. Hubby has a T.V. remote problem, it won't work. Yea, ya need estrogen to figure some things out I guess. Have a great eve girls. Mary
-
Gosh, it's a beautiful "diamonds on the snow" kind of a day here in SE Montana. It's cold, but clear and sunny. I'm getting ready to run into town for the paper, a sub sandwich and a movie or two from the video store. Mary, I'll be "Double-nickles" in January. Women in our family have a tendency to not show their age. Nobody ever guesses that I'm even in my 50's much less the middle of them. It has its cool points. I'm looking forward to my birthday cuz then I can get the senior citizen discount at most of the restaurants around here. It's not the prices as much as the portions that I'm gonna enjoy. They always give way too much food on a regular plate as far as I can see. Well, enough of that--I'm outta here--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
You are all just babies. Just wait until you are a sexagenarian like me...the original baby boomer, or at least born the lst year they started.
Happy Belated Birthday Mary and Happy Pre-Birthday Nancy
Just got back from TN tonight. It was a rainy, dark drive. Followed a truck most of the way on I-85 since his brake light made the visibility easier .. .don't guess it was Tooling Tim since he is heading home.
A cap I have had for over 20 years popped off my tooth last night....of course....out of town....no dental offices open until Tuesday......... I tried snapping it back on and it worked....at least for now...it is not one of the two front ones, but one right beside them....very easily seen....this crap has been happening ever since Taxol.
Well girls have a very good New Year's Eve and Day. -
Janie, if we're babies, then you're a toddler cuz that's what the "just over being babies" kids in daycare are called!!! SO--you just toddle your way into a Wonderful New Year's Eve!!!!!! I'm watching "High School Musical" and reading thru the threads to catch up on stuff I missed when my computer was down. It's been interesting. I'm in a goofy mood today--can't stop smiling for some reason. Maybe I'm just glad to see the end of 2006. Nite--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Well P.J. are you o.k. after all that bad weather? Janie, glad you made it home safe. I get so uptight driving in bad weather anymore. I find myself hunched over the wheel, my fingers inbedded in the steering wheel and my body as tight as a young mans abs. Driving on a sheet of ice just scares me anymore. I don't mind in town but I don't like to go out of town. The weather has been good except for the ice storm and we are still cleaning up from that. Jan. and Feb. are our worse months so no telling whats on the way. I am itching to run out to Phx. I want to take my grandaughter though so I have been looking for a concert or something she would enjoy while we are out there(something for an 8 yr. old like Cheetah Girls, High School Musical). Maybe spring. I don't think we are doing anything at all tonight. I am making BBQ ribs. Tool man tried and tried to hook up his Sirius radio and we stopped at Best Buy yesterday after eating and they said all you do is plug it into the lighter and turn it on(after getting service). We came home and sure enough it is working. How it comes through the speakers is beyond me but it does. He is happy. I got a $10.00 off card from Lowes on a $50.00 purchase when I bought one of his saws so guess where we are going today? Yep, Lowes to spend $40.00 for a $50.00 item. I pray we don't stop at Sears!!! I will go look at jewelry so it won't be a complete waste of my time. Anyone making any resolutions? I am going to eat healthy, exercise, walk more, worry less, drive safer, listen more, be more attentive to husband, never eat fast food, and look good at all times, and spend less money. HA,HA,HA. That crap sounded pretty good huh? I don't even tease myself with all that resolution stuff because I won't do it so no need to waste time talking about it. I don't like commitment. I always tell Tool man I am perfect just the way I am. He gets a pretty good kick outta that. Good, Bad and ugly. I am just me. Have a great day and if i don't get back have a great night. Mary
-
Nancy keep on smiling. You have such a nice smile. I found that some places still pile the food on the plate even for seniors. Buffets are good though because you can choose your own amounts and not have to pay so much. However, I cheated myself the other night. A sign was advertising the price of the senior lunch buffet so I thought senior prices did not apply for dinner and did not tell them I was 60 (sign said 60+) and they didn't ask. Found out later they also had a reduced price for dinner.
PJ, enjoy the break while you can. Those early days will come soon enough. Mine start back tomorrow. Once I am there, I am fine. I love my job and work with a great bunch. I just do not like getting up early and traveling in the cold before daybreak. I go 4 days this week, 5 next week and 4 days the next, the week of MLK holiday.
Mary, sometimes I wonder if everyone can reduce prices by $10 or sometimes even 50% or 75%, why don't they just sell things for as little as they can and still survive with a good profit instead of jacking up the prices. It would save the price of printing coupons etc. and I would think get them more customers....but maybe they get more customers with the coupons..who knows...I guess this is why I am not in sales....plus the fact that back when I was a kid my sales pitch was "you don't want any girl scout cookies do you?" I hate asking people to buy things etc.
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 2007 find us all holding our own and consistently improving.
HUGS ALL AROUND GIRLS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> -
Good morning fellow 2007 voyagers!!! I just read the factoid on my oatmeal packet and it says that there are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian language--AEIOUKLMNPHW--so that means my name doesn't exist in Hawaii unless you call me NANLEE which is what is on my license plate on the jeep. I wanted NANCYLEE, but they would only put on 7 letters and I was going to leave the Y out, but someone had already gotten that plate so I got the NANLEE several years ago and have kept renewing it. We just got new plates with the letters sort of like a decal instead of embossed and they look kinda cheap if you ask me. I don't think they'll last as long as our old ones did. Oh, well--gonna jump in the shower and run into town for my paper--It's 22 degrees here this morning-clear and cold but another beautiful day. Happy, happy New Year everyone--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Good New Year morn. Girls, Nanlee I guess I am Ma-e. It stormed lastnight and now it went from 50 to 35. Burrrr. I had personalized plates but I went to regular ones a year ago because I screw up or just get tired of waiting and pull out so I don't want anyone to know it was me cutting them off or almost hitting them. Since our town is small you know pretty much a lot of people or know someone who knows you. Janie I have found that a lot of restaurants give a discount at 50. Well mister penny pincher notices those things. I never thought about it until he saw it posted, I thought he was just trying to save money. I won't argue on that. I hope everyone had a good New Years eve. I saw the Ball fall at 11:00 our time and I went to sleep so midnight came and went. Tool Man don't leave until early Wed. morn. and I will be a nut case by then. I have to tell him stuff like 4 or 5 times before he remembers it. I have told him where the extra toilet paper is 3 times and he said lastnight "hey, we are outta toilet paper." I told him where I would stick it so as he would not have to look for it again for a long time. He said "oh you get a new jacket?" this is the penny pincher in him. I said "yea, about 3 years ago for x-mas from you along with the jogging pants". I got a real good feeling from letting him know that piece of info. I am going to kill him!!!!! The table saw can quickly and easily cut through anything(I got the replacement insurance so if it gets broken from something too hard I get a new one) and I have plenty of zip lock baggies. I don't know if I could tollerate him home every night or day if he got a different job. Today he asked me to ride to the hardware store, He can't find the shop vac hose I packed when we moved. I did and said stop by Mc Donalds I want a coke. Well we went down the road to the gas station because it is always cheaper to get a fountain soda from the stations. This one has .59 cokes all sizes. My; how inlightening he is. I think Mc D's taste better than the one he got. There are times I just don't feel like getting out of the car. Oh well, he thinks he taught me something new. he did, how badly I would love to choke him. Better go so you girls have a great day. Mary
-
PJ, How is Nathan? Hope he was able to enjoy some of his time off.
AEIOUKLMNPHW Nanlee, let me introduce myself ... anie
Mary, 50? I may have to move out there, oh I guess it doesn't matter now since I am well into the senior age bracket .. well, except the ones that start at 62 or 65. There are a few here that start at 55, but I have not seen any 50's. People tell me I don't act 60. How is 60 supposed to act?
Have a good night one and all -
Janie, 60 or 53 is suppose act any dam way we want. I think we have evolved because when I grew up people in their 50's and 60's acted like old people and dressed old. I think we are a younger acting people now and I like it. Why should we act or dress conservativly. We should take notice of the teenagers that dress to show self expression. We should act as we feel. Young at heart because without mirrors we wouldn't even notice our age, maybe feel it but not notice it. Janie, we do indeed have a few restaurants that except 50 for senior discounts. Some start at 52 also. I always thought it was 63 and never paid attention but Mr. money man notices everything. He left this a.m. so I can put the table saw away. I thought I was going to have to kill him for a few days there. All is safe now. I better get I have to get some things done. Yea, P.J. hope Nathan is much better. Everyone around here has the sinusitis or head cold thing going on. Hubby had for a wk. just before he came home for x-mas. I have been using the wipes at all the stores for my basket handle so I hope it is working. I see people wipe their nose and hold the tissue in their hand on the handle. Yuck! Later girls, Mary
-
Hi, girls, well the bugs have been busy in our house. First Nathan, then me, now hubby. It's been a weird start to the new year. Have some cleaning and shopping to do today (haven't really had the need to grocery shop, as no one's been eating much). Have a friend coming to visit tomorrow through Sunday, so that'll be fun. Hopefully, he won't get sick! He's a longtime friend of Matt's and mine and like an uncle to Nathan. HE is gonna love playing the new game!
Anyway, wanted to check in and say hi. I've gotta get busy doing all the non-fun stuff so I can have fun tomorrow.
Hope you all stay healthy and warm.
Paula -
Good Morning--I just popped in to say Hi before going to work. It was 45 degrees here with no wind yesterday. It even rained a little. We all ran around with no coats. Probably all get sick--The arctic express is supposed to arrive from Alaska tomorrow so we will enjoy one more day of warmish weather. It's already 36--yay--heatwave!! Hope you all have wonderful days--Paula, Ma-e, and -anie in Hawaiian!!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Good afternoon girls,
Well, yesterday we were on modified lock-down at one of my schools because of two potentially dangerous situations. Today, there was a tornado warning and I had to evacuate my office at the elementary school all day because it is a mobile unit under big trees. If the intruder doesn't get me, the tornado will! Remember back in the olden days? When one did not take her life into her hands walking into a school?
Sounds like a mixture of fun, games, and illness in this board neighborhood. Hope there has been more fun than anything else.
We will not mention bowl games last week. On to basketball!
Have a great weekend ladies. -
Janie, they recently wondered if our high school needed security because a foster child here from another town brought a gun to school. He posed no threat but carried it in the city he was from. They had a talk with the foster parents and the child and we are not going to have security. We have never needed it but with the kids that come from bigger schools and bigger cities,I wonder. We have about 900 or so kids in our Sr. High. We are getting bigger as the small towns are having to come here because of financial issues. There are a couple towns keep going because of the support of farmers. We are the county seat but we are only 12000. I hate to think we may have to get security but you never know what can happen anymore. Well I have to get, I will be back later. Hugs girls, Mary
-
It's a blizzard outside--Blowing and drifting snow and wind gusting up to 50 MPH. Not fit for man nor beast out there--My doggy is lying here on the floor at my feet being tormented by the stupid cat. I let him in to get him out of the storm and he is reluctantly staying inside for the night. He really is a winter loving dog, but it's a little too nasty out there even for him. Yes, I do remember when schools were a safe place to be. Seems like a lifetime ago now doesn't it. How sad Well, I've got the old electric blanket on in the bedroom so I think I'll trek in there and crawl under, do the crosswords in the paper and let the wind howl and the snow blow and see what the morning looks like. Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Gee Nancy, hope you stay warm. Our weather is a changin they say next wk. Highs at freezing. I turn my blanket on about a half hour before I go to bed and crawl under and work crosswords too. I buy the books. It really relaxes me. Sometimes I read. It is rainy and chilly today but not bad. I can't wear underwire bras because they rub on my fat transplant and hurt so I went and got some of the new no wire foamy bras and they really felt comfy so I hope it works. I love to shop at JCpenny. They have really cute stuff. I slipped over to Macy's and picked up a purse I have been eyeing. Our Famous Barr was bought out by Macy's. I picked up a new jogging outfit on sale so I can jog in style. Yea, I am going to jog a couple miles a day. Ha, Ha, got ya all. I do need to do something though but with my neck every thing I do causes it to hurt really bad. I do want to walk eventually. When it warms up. I see people out walking and running all bundled up freezing. No way, I don't like or do cold. I will walk around inside my house a couple hundred times before I would go out in the cold. Well better get, hope you are all haveing a great wk. end. Mary
-
Well, it was a chilly 33 here this morning. Yuk. This is NOT what I put up with 6-month long summers for.....
Mary, when's Arizona happening for you?
Nathan started back to school today. He was NOT happy. Got all the company out the door today and back to work.
Have a PET scan tomorrow to make sure things are still as they should be. Results Thursday. Starting to get nervous.
Hi Janie and Nancy.
Later,
Paula
