Well I hope you have a great wk. end Janie. I have been a little under the weather so haven't been on much. Has anyone noticed chest pain like muscle pain that is not bad but comes and goes on the surgery side? I do and I think it might be from the rads. Oh well. Hope Nancy Lee is warm and P.J. is enjoying the wk. end with Nathan and hubby. Mary

Hey, Mary, I get the same thing occasionally. Almost feels like cramping muscle and it's usually when I'm sitting down for some reason. I also think it's from the rads.

Not much up here this weekend. I like it like that.

Hope Janie's kicking up here heels. Nancy, hope all's well out in the Arctic....

I also have the occasional pains in the chest area, but I didn't have rads so........???????? On Friday evening, this little 14 month old was walking by the table and he just started bawling his eyes out. So I went over and picked him up and he put his little head on my shoulder and I started patting his back and he proceeded to Ralph all over me. I kinda tipped him towards the counter and garbage pail and a lot of it went in there. He pretty much missed himself, but not me. I took his temp and called his mom who said, "Well, the little stinker--I thought he was over that??" So Dad came and got him and I saw him in the gas station yesterday and he said--Oh, he's fine--he's just teething. Well, I've thrown up everything I've eaten and had to drink since yesterday evening and I'm pretty sure I'm not teething SO??????? Anyhow--that's how it's going around here besides that it's cold again or still. Hope you all are having great weekends. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Low temps and snow flurries the next few days. Hubby has been in Texarcana the wk. end getting his truck fixed. Hope he gets on the road soon. I hope he tries to get something else because he just can't do this. He has been with this co. a year now and it don't seem like it. Well better go catch some news and take grandson to school pretty soon. Have a good girls, Mary

I'm back ! (like the little girl in the movie). I had a grand ol time. It was good to get away from it all before returning to the salt mines and the 19 degree weather this morning when we had to start the "time machine." I had to be at work very early and this location is 30 or more minutes away. I got so PO'ed and flustered trying to make sure I got there on time, that I accidentally put Bag Balm (good during treatment) in my hair instead of the setting gel. Had to wash it out and start over. LOL. Actually, it had a new lustre to it. lol I use the gel while it dries in order to make it look like it has a little more volume. I made it in time to give the freakin' machine a finger before being counted late (have to check in with our finger prints now -- everyone in the county). Stay warm and well ladies. Nancylee, the first couple of years I worked in the school system, I stayed sick all the time until I built up some immunity. Fortunately since chemo destroyed some of it, I do not have to come into contact with as many kids as you do. I see them one at a time, and some days are filled with paperwork and/or meetings and no kids. You also have the age group that have not built up an immunity themselves, so I can imagine that they are sick a lot. Well adios amigos for now.

Bag Balm in your hair? I remember Bag Balm as being horribly stinky! Yikes!

Hi--Sitting at home with a mystery fever and pinkeye. It's cold so I guess it's good that I can't leave the house. I keep bag balm around all the time for my cracked hands. It works great, but I've never used it on my hair either. Gotta go back to bed--Just got up to check e-mail and stretch muscles. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

    Hey ladies,

Yes, PJ it is crappy here weatherwise. ALL school systems in the area, including the university, were closed today, EXCEPT for one -- you guessed it - the one I work in. My office is in a trailer, far, far, away on the playground. It is so far to walk to the main building that I did not dare drink too much coffee to stay warm. Actually, once inside, it was toasty, but getting there was a problem. Also, we could use some chamber pots out there.

Something good happened today during the cold mess, I received a very flattering message that Emory was very impressed with one of my psychs that landed in their hands via a patient. It was nice of them to take time to comment.

PJ, I visited a friend in NC and got just got away from it all for a few days and had some fun. I had never been to Raleigh before so it was a new experience.

Nancy, another pink eye? Get better once and for all, ok?

Mary, how are you and "tim" making it in the cold?

Yeah, I know, Bag Balm is good for what ails you, EXCEPT a bad hair day. I have been very careful to see what I am reaching for after that little mishap.

    Have a good evening girls,

Anybody care about the superbowl besides me? I usually don't but I do since my Peyton is playing.

Hey Girlfriends, Janie I have ta root for Da Bears, Tim is a big bear fan and is wearing his hat proudly. When he goes to Greenbay he has to take it off when delivering or loading because they give him so much crap and they are all rooting for the Colts up there. I would like to place a bet on Da Bears because if they win one could become rich! Hubby is die hard Cub and Bear fan. There are far more Cardinals fans than Cubby fans around here and I was brought up a Card. fan. Glad you enjoyed your trip Janie. P.J. you are the only one here smart enough to be where it is warm. We have dropped to single digets with below 0 wind chills. Its fun to see how fast you can run from your car to the door(not). Most people leave their cars running while in the store so thank goodness we have a fairly quiet town. I saw what it looked like up Nancy's way and gee! It was horrible. Well I better get going so later girls, Mary

Mary, being from TN, I have to root for Peyton to win this time around. I usually only watch college football, but got caught up watching the Colts the last couple of years. I did watch the year the Falcons actually made it that far doing the dirty bird all the way! Couldn't live in GA and not get caught up in all that!

I have a cold, sore throat, cough and chest pain.....so I am just lazing around this weekend. Hope you all stay well...of course, I already know Nan is not. Later girls,

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone. I woke up yesterday and the water in the dog dish in the kitchen had a film of ice on top of it--IN MY KITCHEN. So I looked at the thermometer and it was -15 with a windchill of -45 and it was 28 degrees in my living room, dining room and kitchen. I could see my breath. I have a quartz heater in my bedroom and I had the door shut so I had no idea it was getting so cold in the rest of the house. So I threw some snowpants and a few coats on over my flannel pjs and went to town and got $100 worth of electric heaters. I put one out in the utility room and the little one in the bathroom and the oil filled radiator one in the archway between the dining room and kitchen. It warmed it up considerably in here--Oh, and I moved my old one from the kitchen which obviously wasn't big enough under my desk here and I'm nice and toasty sitting here typing. Hey, while I was in town yesterday I got a $2 scratch ticket and won $50. Kinda cool, huh. Maybe that means I'm headed for a lucky spell for a change--Randy Neuman just said, "I could be wrong now" on the TV--I'm watching the Monk marathon on USA!!--so maybe maybe not?? Jeez, I just read back through my last sentence and you ladies have to be good if you can follow most of my trains of thought--I do get derailed a lot!!!! Well, better get busy. I have daycare bills to finish for January. Bye for now--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

NancyLee! That's awful! 28 degrees? Man, we put ours down to about 60 at night ($558 electric bill will do that to ya) and I thought THAT was cold.

Happy Super Bowl, girls. We're going to a friend's to eat dinner (he just got a 42-inch tv) and then Nathan and I will come home. Football's just not my thing.

Well I just have to watch the game while I make jewelry. It is like a car wreck, you just have to check it out. Janie, my son is rooting for the colts, he is a Peyton fan too, did he play for the Raiders? He had to if son likes him, my son has been a Raider fan since we lived in L.A. a year in a half when he was 10. Hummm, my grandaughters name is Peyton......Well Go Da Bears and good luck Colt fans. I am making Alfrado for myself and relax. Gosh Nancy, come stay with me and warm up, it is only -8 here with wind chill. The sun is out so I think it is warming up. Did anyone see Katie Couric's face lift???? Man she looks 15, I don't like her anymore, I am jealous. I get sidetracked a lot too Nancy. Hubby never knows what I am talking about. It is starting to stay light longer I notice. It don't get dark until 5:30 now so maybe spring is on the way. Good deal. Mary

Hey, girls, check out OUR super sunday. Firstly, we had a beautiful day, about 65 degrees. (i know, you're jealous)

so i get home from errands and look over into our dog yard (about 1/3 of our yard is separately fenced off for the 2 dogs. our young (my dog) golden retriever/springer spaniel mix looked goofy as usual. our 11-year-old chocolate lab (husband's dog) looked positively weird, but i could put my finger on it, so i went for a closer look.

girls, somehow that dog had gotten herself stuck head to tail in a tomato cage that i guess she found behind our shed. i mean, you couldn't PUT a dog in one of those if you were trying to. the little wire things were sticking out in front of her head and her legs were all stuck in the little squares formed by the cage. unfortunately, matt got the loppers of and cut it off before i got a picture.

ok, so, then, hours pass. nathan and i come home from friends at halftime of the game. nathan tells me he hears the cat crying. well, i didn't hear it, but i checked all the closets, etc., (her usual stuck spots) but no cat. so my husband comes home after the game and hears it, too.

well, girls, don't you know that the flue of our chimney has apparently been open since christmas 2005 and the damn cat had climbed all the way to the top of the chimneyand was stuck, straddling the hole of the chimney and stuck in the cage thing at the top. so my husband had to go on the roof at 9:45 or whatever and disassemble the thing to get her out.

my pets are morons. well, not quite. MY dog is obviously a genius.

PJ--I'm still laughing--I thought I had the stupidest pets on Earth, but apparently not!! You should put that in Reader's Digest--you might get some money for it. Mary, now why would I want to come and stay with you when your water freezes up too. I think I'd better stay home for now. It's starting to seriously snow out there tonight. We're supposed to have 2 to 4 additional inches by tomorrow night. My friend, coworker, caregiver, infant primary provider, called me this morning at 6:30 and said she has the flu so wouldn't be to work. We had 30 kids, but 6 infants and 10 in diapers so it was pretty much a zoo with our "baby lady" gone. I had to call in most of my part time emergency helpers to get through the day. It was a LONG one so I'm off to catch a few winks as soon as Boston Legal gets done. We made spiders out of paper plates and pipe cleaners in preschool today to go along with the "I know an old lady who swallowed a fly", etc song and the kids did nothing but talk about spiders all day and now I keep thinking I see little creepy crawlies out of the corners of my eyes!! Hey Girls, I have water again. My uncle brought a bullet heater over and we thawed the pipe. It froze right after the meter. We put insulation down there and I left the water drip all night. I am going to have to get heat tape to put around the pipe that comes in from the meter. Next winter I will be out west Nancy or even Fla. anywhere where it is warm. Hey Janie, I bet you feel refreshed after that get away. Hope you are staying warm and P.J. better keep those animals locked up. I was plugging in the cord to the heater outside yesterday to thaw my pipe and my tomato baskets are out there and I was laughing thinking of a dog all tangled up in one. Better get. Mary

    HI ya'll,

Mary and Nancy Lee, you make me cold just listening to you. Today was mild compared to the last few days here. No frozen water at any time though. Mary, Peyton used to play for UT in college. I think he went straight to the Colts after that, but not sure. He has always been a class act. Real nice and good sport; however, very competitive. His Dad Archie played and his little brother Eli plays for the Giants.

Pink Eye is going around the elementary school. Nancy Lee I don't know how it made its way from you all the way down here.

PJ,any animals stuck anywhere today? We used to have a cocker spaniel who knew that "cat" and "Patches" were one in the same. I thought that was really intelligent for a dog to know that two different words represent the same thing. Barney the Beagle acts dumb, but I am not so sure he is not just lazy and pretending to be dumb. My daughter has a mutt that looks like Yoda, the most hyper dog (anything actually) I have ever seen. Had to repeat obedience school.

Well, better go for now. Later Ladies,

    Janie

R#E#A#L#L#Y Cruel!!!!!!!! If I could, I WOULD pitch a snowball at you!!!! It's -11 here and a howling blizzard. I had a tough time getting home from work tonight because it was so hard to see the roads, especially the last mile into my ranch. My water froze up in my well house yesterday and my lease guy had to come and work on it. It's fine at the moment. My electric heaters are working and it's staying at 62 in my house--Yay. We had 38 little ones at daycare today--baby lady gone again--sent one baby home with +102.3 temp. He's on an antibiotic for double ear infection, but we couldn't keep his temp down so called his mom. Poor baby. I was supposed to go to Glendive tomorrow to see my oncologist for my 6 month check-up, but the weather is supposed to be worse so I called and scheduled it for the second Friday in March. I guess it'll be a 7 month check-up!! I think beyond the pinkeye and pneumonia--I'm doing just fine anyway!! Best get ready for bed--LONG day and I get all tense when I have to drive in yucky weather. I need to go take a relaxing shower. Nite all--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Nancy, I can't imagine having to go out in that weather and deal with things like wells and such. You're a much stronger woman than I. Hope your baby lady gets back soon. Glad you aren't braving the awful weather to visit the doc.

Mary, where's hubby these days? (Is this kind of like where's Waldo?) When are you gonna get to Phoenix for a little break?

Janie, how're things Georgia way? Are there lots of kids sick? One school here had so many teachers out sick, they couldn't get enough subs and called parents to come in and teach. Well, I guess really just to sit with the kids.

Bundle up and have a good one ladies,

    hey ladies,

yes, it is freezing cold (by my standards) here. drizzly and miserable. Long week at school. so i am having a margarita and kicking back. my cold is hanging on. took out my contacts the other night and all of a sudden it was like a flood gate was opened....eye watering something awful..had to find my old glasses and make do the last couple of days. my arm is swollen twice its normal size so i am one big mess. i also postponed my onc appointment nancy. i had it on president's day, my day off and decided that was rather stupid so i changed it. i have ct scan just before to check on the lung nodules.
nancy get well. pj here's a snowball headed your way...and mary find poor ol tim before he gets lost forever on the highway somewhere.

Good Morning Girls, Tim is almost in Texas. Lucky duck, he said it was going to be 57 where ever he is going. It don't look like it will get above freezing any time soon. Obama is giving his run for Pres. speach in Springfield today. I would like to go because they said on the News George Cloney, Oprah and a bunch of celebs. are going to be up there and Spring. isn't all that big. They will stay at the Hilton no doubt and thats an easy place to see people. It is also going to be like 12 so it is way too cold to stand outside for hours. George just isn't worth 12 degrees. P.J. I am going to Phx. March the 13 to the 18th. My daughters birthday is the 30th. so I am going out and take her to see David Copperfield. She bought tickets to Cirque De Soleil in Vegas so we are flying up there Wed. and go back to Phx. Thurs. Then just eat and chill out by the pool, and shop a little. I will walk up Camel Back mt. every day for some exercise and the young A.S.U. fellers in their shorts and no shirt don't exactly disrupt the scenery any. My grandkids are going through this cold thing and I am really praying I don't get it when I am ready to go to Phx. My son was on steroids and got this cold and boy he was in bad shape because steroids shut down your imune system. I am fighting with a neck injury. I can't get into my Dr. cause she is out with cold and ashma. I have to get in soon because my whole arm hurts down to my hand. I have even been dizzy when I turn my head. Well better get going. Stay warm girls and hope your better Janie and Nancy. Enjoy your weather P.J. Mary

Well Good Mornin Girls,It appears we are in for a winter storm. They are saying 6 to 10 inches of snow depending on where you are, Spring. to Champain 10 so I guess since we are 29 miles south of Spring. we will get up to 8 inches. They are going to get 12 inches to the east. I knew when winter finally came it would be a good one. We haven't had a good snow fall like more than 4 inches for a few years. Well no school today because of Lincoln's birthday so no kids to run. My daughter started a new job and works nights now so I go early and get the boys up and off to school. She is with the Fed. and state gov. now. Well I guess I better go. I got a few groceries yesterday because I wanted to be prepared. Driving won't be bad in town but the winds are going to be 20 to 30 so there will be white out conditions no doubt and a lot of drifting. Then again a lot of times they predict it and we don't get it. We will see. Later girls, Mary
