Will be thinking positive thoughts for you tomorrow PJ. Everything will still be good.
It is cold and getting colder here ....yep...Hotlanta is not living up to its name. Actually Atlanta is 60 miles from here, but it is cold there too.
Mary, Nancy, going ice skating yet? It has to be freezing up there, and Renee must be cold as well.
Later gators,
-
Well, it wasn't bad until yesterday. We were to get a little snow but hasn't happened yet. P.J. good luck, we will be thinking of you today.I have to go to may dermatolgist tomorrow because I have another little squamous cell spot. I had one removed and let it go over a year because I didn't know skin cancer could be a little itchy flaky place that came and went. Who knew? I think I am going to Az. in March to visit and check out some places. My daughters birthday is the 30th. I got tickets for David Copperfield the 17th. for part of my daughters birthday pres. so I have to go out by then. I saw him once before(took grandson) I think he is great and not bad on the eyes! Got to scoot, later everyone have a great day. Mary
-
Hey P.J. Whats up? Let us know. Good morn. girls, Gotta get movin. Later, Mary
-
Hey, girls. Going to "give blood" today and then meet with the onc tomorrow afternoon. Mostly optimistic with a deep pit of dread in my stomach. I think it's time for us to get out the tequila again.
-
My little pooch saw that and shes got the jigger out and her sombrero on. Good luck going your way. Double hugs, Mary
-
Let's toast clean scans.... Everything is A-OK. Whew. Huge relief.
Booking tix for a trip in March to St. Louis, which really is just going to be a stop in St. Louis and a trip to Chicago with a friend and her kids (we have a mutual friend who lives in St. Louis). So, Mary, I'm thinking I'll be in your neck of the woods? I told my friend I wasn't booking any tix until I got good results today....
Hope you all are well and having some fun. We're supposed to be getting some more of that cursed Northern cold this weekend. Really, you guys should feel free to keep it up there. 24 degrees? Yuk.
Later, girls,
Paula -

Well it is pouring as has rained all day. It is starting to freeze. We have an ice storm warning until Mon. morn. Oh ain't that just a hoot. What will I lose this time? I sure hope it isn't a bad one. Hubby is driving in it. Poor guy, nothing like getting a lesson in driving in real bad weather all at once. He is in Green Bay headed for Oklahoma. He just got a newer truck. I have 3 grandkids tonight so everyone stay warm. Have a great wk. end, mine looks fun. Mary
-
Oh, boy, Mary, I hear Oklahoma is just awful right now. I hope he can get off the road and stay safe. You, too. Try to keep the house together....
Keep us posted. -
Hey, I hope this works. The last couple I tried to send would not transfer over when I clicked on "continue." PJ, that is great news. Have yourself a blast on your excursion. Mary, be careful and stay safe. Is everyone off Monday? One of the psychologists at work was in a really bad wreck. He is going to live but it really banged him up and he will be in a wheelchair for at least 3 months.
-
Wow, Janie thats horrible. That will be a tough 3 months. When I went through nursing school years ago.....o.k. many years ago, they made us have a disability of some sort every day for 1/2 a day. One day I had blinders on and had to spend 1/2 a day blind, 1/2 day my legs were tied and I was in a wheel chair and once my arms and legs were tied to a wheel chair. It really brought it all home because we had to have someone feed us(not a good experience), go to the bathroom(or have someone put us on it) etc. It is scary to be in others shoes and depend on someone to lift you and hold you without dropping you. It gave me a lot of respect for people. Our weather has not been bad just rain as the temp has stayed up to 40 but it is nose diving tonight and it is raining hard still....so we are to get sleet freezing rain then snow. We shall see. We have heard that all wk. end. Tomorrow is a day off here for pretty much most people so the roads should be not too busy. The coffee people will be out at the local McD's or little cafes.Hubby made it to Joplin Mo. but got stuck in the truck stop backing in, only him. He said his windshield had a couple inches of ice and his wippers were froze and the road was ice so he wasn't going any farther. His load will be late to Dunkin Ok. Thank goodness he is safe. Janie, I wondered where you were. I thought maybe you were busy over the wk. end. Hope everyone is warm and I hear Ga. hasn't been real warm and Texas has been a hayday of weather. My daughter said it was going to frost in Phx. What next? Later little snow birds, Mary
-
I've had to redial up 4 times since I turned on my computer tonight. It's getting buggy again I fear. Yesterday I turned "Double Nickels" and didn't do a thing to celebrate, but talk on the phone to my sister, brother and cousin. Oh, and I took a big long bubble bath. That was a celebration of sorts. It hasn't been above zero here for the last 4 days and the wind chill makes it in the -40 to -50 degree range. It just hurts to go outside in this weather. I've been wearing my Carharts to work--insulated snow pants and thankfully my jeep has kept running through all this. Hope you all had a great weekend. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Actually, the last couple of days has been seasonably warm. It is going to turn cold again Tuesday, just in time to go back to work.
Went to the TN/GA girls games today. TN won. Neither played a good game. Neither team could hit the broad side of a barn, but TN prevailed 52-41.
Happy Birthday Nancy Lee. I remember 55. Sort of. That was five years ago. That bubblebath sounds really good.
Mary, I hope "Tim" gets unstuck and unfrozen soon. That is so scary driving something that big on ice.
Have a great evening ladies. -
Happy Birthday Nancy. Glad you are staying warm. We have had the -20 and -30 with wind chill weather in past winters. Thats when we had the landscape business and we ahd to get out and do snow removal. We had a lot of shoveling to do and my hands would ache and burn so we had to get in the truck and warm up every few mins. my face would freeze sorta, I couldn't smile or laugh or talk right until it warmed up. I hated that business in the winter but we made good money. We haven't had weather with wind chills real low for several years. I am not complaining. It didn't freeze lastnight as the temp got to 34. They say a cold front is moving in and it will drop to 19, burrrrr. Gosh a relaxing bubble bath, I haven't done that in a long time. I am glad you had a good birthday Nancy. I better get going. Later, Mary
-
Happy 55, Nancy! Mary, glad DH is safe. Janie, hope you're enjoying MLK day off. Roads were supposed to be icy, but hubby says they're pretty much clear. So, I'm going into work for half a day and Nathan is going to a friend's while i'm there. Hoping we dodged this ice for real. Tonight will tell. Had a tornado nearby last week. Freaky weather. My mom is thinking Texas isn't such a weather step up from Wisconsin.
I think maybe we all need some hot toddies to keep us warm. -
Good Morning,
Glad you all are ok. The reports on the weather on TV said you were in for really bad weather. Maybe they were wrong. Imagine that.
Have a great day. -
Good morn. Girls, I went to my reg. Dr. yesterday for my hand. I have a little bump and it is sore. I have had it for about 3 wks. My Dr. wanted me to have my onkie check it so one of the Onks were in my town yesterday doing chemo so I ran by and he checked it. He said it is a tumor thing but not cancer. He had one and he made me an apt. with the Dr. that took his out so I go the end of the month to see about surg. It is my right hand, great. I can write a little with my left hand but that is about it. It is -4 this cold darn morning. I better get my coffee in me so I can take the grandson to school. Hope everyone is warm, Mary
-
Hey ladies,
Is everyone ok? Heard there was some fierce weather out that way. We are supposed to get icy roads in the morning too. Everyone stay safe and warm.
Later -
Well, other than the fact that I'm practically a popsickle, I'm okay. It is just SO cold--BRRRRRR!!! I'm about ready to throw this stupid computer out the window. I had to go through tonight and change a bunch of passwords because it kept saying that I was using the wrong ones. "Forget your password??" I swear if I see that one more time, I'll scream. This time it's not chemobrain, but computer stupidity!! Gosh, I'm listening to American Idol as I sit here and these people are really deluded and on top of that--Simon is really MEAN. Well, better get to bed--It's late--We had 43 kids at daycare today and 12 in diapers--YIKES--I'm a bit weary!!!!! Nite all--Life is Good Smiles Nancylee
-
Hey girls, Janie I hear you have had some bad weather too. The temps. are freezing to the point you just become frozen when you walk outside, it is too cold to even go out but today it has gotten up to freezing so it feels like a warm front. Theres something sad about that. I hope everyones fine and staying warm. Texas got a good blow too. Better put the ice skates on you cars ladies. The toolman spent last wk. in the middle of the Ok. storm and he is headed back tomorrow. He said it is going to get nasty there again, of course it will, that is his luck. I have to get some groceries. Later, Mary
-
Hey,
Yep, it was cold here too, but schools stayed open. The roads were not bad. Of course, there was ice on the steps and railings to my office. It was somewhat cold today, but not miserable like yesterday. Good weather to sleep in. Went to Cracker Barrel tonight. Had one of my favorites meals....eggs, toast and bacon. lol
You all be careful now.
janie -
Ha, we had a "snow" day last week. What a joke. There was slush on the roads, but no real ice around town. Nathan was happy, tho. They were off Monday, started late Tuesday, snow day Wednesday and started late Thursday. It's supposed to be cold here again and rainy, but no ice. But, you're right, Mary, Oklahoma's getting socked again.
Keep warm, girls. Rent a movie with your favorite handsome leading man....
Paula -
Good mornin girls, I had 3 grandkids lastnight. We played computer games and hubby left laptop home so that made it good to have 2 puters. P.J. I think Texas is going to get hit again. They will because hubby got his load switched and now he is on his way to Texas so look out. The bad weather seems to be meeting him no matter where he goes. We are going to get a couple inches tonight they say but that won't slow anything down. I have a hundred tings to do today so I best get busy already. Have a great wk. end and stay warm. Mary
-
Hey ladies,
It's a "rainy night in GA" and 37 degrees. Anybody watching the games? I am watching "at" the one on now and plan to watch Peyton and the Colts take on the Chargers. It is beginning to look like the winner of that game will play Chicago since they just pulled ahead by 18 points.
How is everybody? My arm is swelling up bigtime and I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. Do you all get tired of this lyphedema stuff. I know I am fortunate to be alive and I am thankful for that, but I DO wish this arm thingee would go away, along with the big ol stomach that chemo/steroids left me with, which appears to have become quite comfortable with no intentions of leaving any time soon. Have a good evening, -
Hey Ladies, Janie I lucked out on the swelling, I get a little like my rings don't much fit that hand anymore and my hand shakes a little off and on and really shakes if I tilt a glass or can up in the air to drink. I shoveled snow this a.m. and my back and shoulders hurt. I have a friend just got dxed. She had lumpectomy and is to start chemo. I hear she is going to work through it, my surgeon told me with all the new drugs I would be able to "work through it too." What a wise acker he was....Gosh I remember how I thought the time was standing still back then and I would never get done with that crap. I hope none of us ever have to go through that again! It is unfair we ever have to get sick again in our lives. I think we paid our dues with intrest. Well Janie hope your warm. That cold damp air isn't good for anything. Hubby made it to Texas and said it is warm there. I am freezing. Better get. Stay warm and dry girls. Mary
-
Janie,Yea for the Bears.
-
Hear, hear, Mary. We should all through being sick with anything. Glad hubby made if safely down here. It was, indeed, beautiful yesterday. Not supposed to be as warm today, but it'll be last week.....
Janie, sorry to hear about the arm. I'm so bad, I can't remember the last time I wore my sleeve. It is a royal pain in the butt. OK, not as bad as the other stuff we had to do, but the permanence of the problem is awful.
Hope Nancy is staying warm out in the Arctic.
I'm gonna actually hop on the treadmill this morning and try to restart my "fitness" plan. We'll see.
Later, girls -
You quit talking nasty P.J. Whats is a treadmill anyway? Sounds like something you might make moonshine in or a place that makes sneaker soles. You almost make me feel quilty enough to exercise myself....did I say that? Man I would try but I would get all worn out and exercise uses energy, besides I just went for a jog around the mall last wk. and I can't afford any more exercise until next wk. I did buy a jogging outfit but thats just to look cool and it was cute. I try to buy several items from different stores because the bags add wt. training to my work out. I also walk a few steps on the escalator up and down so as to get the whole stair step work out going for a couple seconds. I stop and bend over the jewelry counters and find that helps the waist and upper legs. You can feel the pull while ooing over the diamonds. Good Luck, Mary
-
Mary, you are such a hoot. You should write a book called "The Shopping Workout"--How to lose weight and money at the same time!! I went to a Relay for Life team captains university on Saturday. It was very interesting and a sort of therapy all wrapped into 4 hours. I made the mistake of eating at the buffet although I've been warned not to by my oncologist numerous times. Dang this screwed up immune system!! I just didn't think and now I have the Cold from Hel-. I've been using my inhaler all day because I've had such trouble breathing. Cross your fingers that this doesn't turn into pneumonia like most of the other times I expose myself to germs. Why did I do that??? Chemo brain, I guess. At this meeting I met the chairman of the RFL in Glendive where my team from the daycare relays. She told me her name and I said that I taught a boy in Circle with that name 30 years ago. It turned out that I was her husband's first grade teacher all those years ago. Funny what a small world this is. Well, gonna take some more cold pills and an Ambien and go to bed. It's a little warmer here. Like in the 20's ABOVE zero. That's still below freezing, but it doesn't feel cold compared to the 50 below crap. Nite all--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee
-
Just stopped in to say hey. Glad you are surviving the cold Nancy. We have had a warm front too of 33 today. WOW! It is helping melt the snow. I have a bunch of things to so later girls, Mary
