When my Irish great-great grandmother (who lived in Indiana) was 12 years old, she and her step-father walked 50 miles into Illinois and heard ABRAHAM LINCOLN speak when he was running for the Senate in 1858! She lived to be 102 (only taking to her bed two weeks before her death) and my mom (who was named after her) was 16 years old when she died, so she knew her very well. I have a doll quilt great-great gramma made for my mom when she was a baby.

Let's do it again....another interesting ancestor story...

The quilt has a story too; my mom played with it, it got passed down to younger cousins and then lost time for a number of years until my mom's aunt was at her daughters house & was going to do some dusting. She grabbed a rag from the rag bag and said, "Oh for goodness sakes, this dust rag is the doll quilt great-gramma made for Kathryn (my mom)! So she rescued it, sent it to my mom, who patched it up, put it on a dowel, wrote the story from the quilt's point of view (my mom was a teacher who majored in English), pinned the story to the back and gave it to me. LUCKY ME!

Back to another interesting ancestor story....

Ruth that is sooo cool!! We had some horse thieves in our ancestry. I know we were never slave owners, and we recently found out that my father's side of the family is traced to Ireland! My mom always told me I was just a hair Irish because she had a Murphy on her side of the family, but I always felt like I was more! And it explains my previous strawberry-blonde hair and fair skin as well as that of my children and nieces and nephew!

Well you all I just had an unexpected surgery yesterday. I was diagnosed with an infection and had infection symptoms so my PS removed the TEs, washed me out and put new ones in. I feel so much better after this surgery, it was amazing! I was feeling so crappy! She said she is very glad she did it because she removed a lot of "suspicious fluid." I thank God we caught it early!

Thanks so much, hsant. Yes, the complications areunfortunate, especially in neoadjuvant patients like me. I can definitely understand opting out of recon. I like being smaller without boobs! I likely won't have mine filled too much. And wow that is awesome about having holocaust survivors in your ancestry. So sorry for the ones who didn't make it.

as boring as it is, probably peanut butter sandwiches. I have peanut butter on toast for breakfast every morning and never get tired of it. But, I'd need coffee too.

Sadly, no pictures of the Beatles. My daughter has my copy of Meet the Beatles album. Caring for it fondly.
