Bad at Usernames- I am sorry for your loss. It sounded like you found some peace during this time through your bike ride. Hugs sister.

Did a 20 min walk around my client site today. My goal is to do short walks at lunch or some other time during the day when I am there. I started off the first day well.

My next challenge is to try to get to the gym 2X before work to do my weight work outs. I have done it before, just out of the routine of it for a bit. Hopefully the snow that is coming tonight won't be an obstacle, but have a Plan B, just in case!

Sorry about your grandmother, Badat. Even if a loved on has lived a long, full life; it still leaves a hole when they are gone.

'Laugh More' is a great resolution, Decision! I have always thought that people who are easily amused are the happiest people; because you can always find little things that are funny/fun/silly, even when the big picture may seem gloomy at times.

Great to hear about the weight loss ladies, Jazzy, especially that they did it 'the old fashioned way'!

I love my Fitbit Charge. It has everything I need, and I get mad when I forget to put it on....because then the steps don't 'count'.

I am still subbing for my friend (through next week Tuesday). It has been kind of fun to be 'the teacher' & to get to know a group of kids better. That is the part of teaching I miss. I went to Zumba and Gentle Flow Yoga tonight.

Patoo, I like onward and downward better too!

Did 10 minutes today of FRIGID walking, had to come back due to my circulation issues; this evening did about 25 minutes of restorative yoga (free on Dios OnDemand) which I just discovered.

Bad at Usernames: So sorry about your precious grandmother. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I've enjoyed catching up with posts.

The rain and warm temps have moved on and winter is back. Walked/ran this afternoon in 38 degrees with a breeze.

maybe I can get back to exercising after hopefully my last surgery on my broken arm. Loose screws coming out in two weeks. Bone is finally healing. It has been over 10 months since I broke my humerus in 3.places. The doctors didn't/don't want me even walking so not only do I have to do my Physical therapy, I have to loose the weight I have gained. I think walking is my first thing I should be able to do. I do 3,000 steps now just around the house.

Last night was Body Jam. Really tough as I'm so out of shape. At least 3 hours of Declutter and Sculpt today. Now I have to go out for some fresh air, or at least more oxygen than indoors. Zumba tonight. I will start using my old nano to track my declutter steps, also any dance steps, as my phone is too bulky. Good luck on rads, jerseygirl, and on your surgery, socalLisa!

SoCalLisa - good to see you - what a year you've had. Here's to 2016 and resuming your life again!

Half hour run this morning - it was 14 degrees with wind chills around zero, but I have winter running gear, so it was actually quite nice. The stars were so bright in the pre-dawn sky, with just a hint of light at the horizon. It was so peaceful and quiet that I skipped my music and just enjoyed the rhythm of my breath and footsteps in the stillness. And I can now say with certainty that I'd much rather run when it's 14 degrees than when it's 74 degrees! #hotflashes #menopause

Hi SoCalLisa and Bad_at_user.., sorry about your loss and hang in there on the MRI. Odie, good to see you and I'm off to finish the tree take down. For some odd reason, I think someone else is going to do it..I know, crazy, huh?

Body balance this morning at the gym.

Returned from Virginia at the right time......turned really cold there! No exercise yet as I have been catching up on mail and unpacking.....all the stuff you do after a trip. However, I plan to do a long walk later today......maybe......feeling a nap coming on!

Patoo, I want to know more about the bone building class. Sounds good.

Hi mysunshine, it is good. Will take you along with us when you get here. My sis and I may even go for training to lead a class ourselves which will be exciting.

Vacuumed and steamed floors this morning. 2 loads of laundry done and beginning to again go through the many bins of stuff we really don't need to take once we move in March (so why did we even transport from NJ and NC?). Planning a 4-mile Leslie Sansone class this evening.

    Later friends.

Badat. . .so sorry about your grandmother. Sending prayers and hugs.

Decision. . .I was having hot flashes ( like a burning hot dry sauna) from he** after 6 rounds of lupron. I sympathize. Drink ice water. That stops the flash in its tracks for me.

Nats. . .no fair on the steps challenge. I call foul. I did a couple of those years ago with my former company. I won the local challenge but company awards were nationwide and given to the marathoners.

Lisa. . .good to hear from you on this baord. 3k steps a day is good.

I'm trying sooo hard to work off stress at the gym but my ulcer/gallstones or whatever I have going on is getting worse. I see a new gastro on Thursday. Guess I'll be having scans sooner rather than later.

At the gym feeding my Fitbit, which unlike me has an insatiable appetite. I just got an email about the new Fitbit Blaze. I was looking to upgrade to the Surge. Now I'll have to choose. . .you know your Fitbit owns you when you worry about which one you'll buy next.

Spent most of the day in motion around the the house. Hauling big piles of clothes so my mother could sort through them. Pulling clothes out of my mother's closet. Returning clothes to the closet that my mother wants to wear now. Packing away summer clothes, lol, summer lasts until January in the Deep South. Hauling big bags of unwanted clothes to give away to a neighbor. I still have a pile of jeans and pants to put on hangers and another big pile of summer clothes to put away. Am also doing some laundry. There are still more clothes in my mother's closet that I have to bring out this week so she can sort through them.

No formal exercise today, but lots of physical activity and little time spent on the couch.

Sister and I did one hour Zumba class. Was for seniors (called Zumba Gold) so actually was more like a dancerize class but still a good workout. I thought it was okay since I'm horrible at Zumba anyhow but my sister was not impressed (though it wore her out after 45 mins!).

Scottie: Sorry about the issues you're having. Sounds painful. Glad you'll seeing a new gastro person this week.

Patoo: Those packed bins will get you every time! Sounds like you'll go through them with a heavy hand and wonder why oh why did I keep all of this stuff.

SoCalLisa: I know you'll be glad to get this last (hopefully) surgery behind you. Good Luck!

Nats: 14 degrees?!?!?! Give me a low humid 74 degree any day for exercising outside. I exercised today in 37 degrees and I was hurting after it.

    Walked/ran today all wrapped up.

SoCal, welcome back. Hope you can ease back into activities now that the pesky fractures are healing.

Decision, I was exhausted just reading your post!

Wonderland, I agree with you. I would much rather run in cool temperatures but not COLD....

Lilacblue, too bad elves do not help with the Christmas takedown. Although I would prefer they clean out and organize my closet instead!

All the cleaning out and decluttering is seriously inspiring. I want to declutter myself so thanks for the nudge!

Exercise yesterday was bootcamp but missed today due to craziness at work.

1/5- it was crazy and loud at the gym tonight, but I went and got a solid 40 min resistance training in.

Decision- you are doing some great purging and organizing in the new year. Moving that stuff around is work!

For some reason the Y was deserted tonight. I had the track to myself, and took advantage of it, putting in another hour of walking.

Work is interfering with my walking, Since Sunday I've barely averaged 14K steps. its been warmer the past couple days, in the 40's but cold and maybe snow is back on Thursday with highs only in the 20's.. At least tonight, I've not snacked...and I didn't snack at work....now if I can just keep that up!!

2 hour LIne Dancing class today. More cleaning out bins. Why in the world did I bring almost all my winter clothes to FL? May need some for occasional visits back north but even when we dip into the 50's here (like today) I won't need heavy woolens, heavy long sleeve sweaters, etc. So out they are going.

I did a 4 mile walk today and, first time, without anything on my head except my new hair growning in. 5 months PFT. It was liberating! I was a little self conscious, but did it!

Tonight I had a meeting so walked/ran earlier in the day.

Couldn't make myself walk this morning before work...I over slept and was just off... and missed it all day today. Even so, managed to get 12K steps, not what I strive for, but not bad. Ruth, I know myself and I won't use the DVD. Being outside if refreshing and generally I'm good about walking. Tomorrow, I need to get back in gear.

Snow is supposed to be back tomorrow and temps in the 20's. I'm going to a training tomorrow morning. Its just over a mile from work, so I'm going to park by work and walk to/from the training. That should help make up for today!!

I've been so tired, need to get more than 6 hours sleep!! I stay up late as I don't want to get up at 4 am!! but it is working against me lately....going to try to go to bed before 11:30.....

mysunshine, that's great. SoCalLisa, I never set my stride (not even sure the fitbit one told me to). I figure since I'm the only one using it it's all relative but I only count steps, not miles. Guess it would make a difference if you are counting miles and it's way off. When I had used my Omron pedometer I measured on the floor about 8 feet and counted the steps and then calculated the stride. Think it came out to be about 112 but again I only counted steps.

Decision, Patoo, and others doing decluttering and purging - keep at it! DH and I did major purging when we moved last year. We tossed, donated, and sold tons of stuff - and a year later I still haven't found a single thing that I truly miss getting rid of. And even if eventually I find a couple of items I wish I'd kept, it'd be worth losing them if that's the price to pay for getting rid of all the other stuff. Its a wonderful feeling to open a drawer, a closet, the garage, and the attic and not see them overflowing with stuff.

Sunshine - woohoo on the bare head! My hair was about an inch long when I said good-bye to my caps. I got some gel and spiked it up - I felt like I was really rockin' it!!

Half hour run this morning - a balmy 34 degrees!
