haha I love take your cat to work day. :-). I work from home and my kitties love to distract me from my work.

All the kittens do find homes. Most of the time, the kittens pick you; you don't pick them, and there's someone for everyone.

Kitten Inn has an open day every Sat and Sun and the place is mobbed. We get some hard to adopt kittens sometimes, so they sometimes don't go as quickly. For those, they put up additional information on the Facebook page and an ad on TradeMe (kind of like EBay, but much smaller) and/or reduce the price and/or let people come outside of open hours. Or a volunteer falls in love and takes the kitten. We had some semi-feral ones last year and it took a couple of weeks, but with the extra advertising, they found the right people. One of them had hidden the whole time the Kitten Inn was open. A couple with their 10 year old son came the next day and when they opened the cage (they're huge dog cages), the kitten jumped out and landed on the boy. They were warned that the kitten might be skittish and there may be other kittens which would be better, but the little boy wanted that one. They sent us a picture two days later of the kitten laying on its back on the boy's lap. We've had subsequent pictures, and they're best buddies. I'll see if I can find one. We also had a skittish older one who we were fearing would never be adopted; growled and hissed and hid in the corner. Then one day, a lady came over, and it came right to her. Just waiting for the right human to come along. We placed about 1,000 kittens and momcats last year.

So wish we had a Kitten Inn here in DC. Have a feral colony in my neighborhood. Last year a female had a litter of six kittens, four survived and were eventually captured when they were about nine months old. After they were spayed they went to a couple of foster homes but never heard if they got furrever homes. Mom cat was such a good mother. She called for her brood when they started disappearing as they still acted as a family. This year she was pregnant again. Got trapped. Her kittens were aborted and she was spayed and back out on the street the next day. Two of us who feed the colony didn't think she would service. She looked and acted lost for awhile. Several of her teets became engorged. If only there were Kitten Inns everywhere. I think of the litter that could have been when I see the success you have KiwiCatMom.

OMG! That is too funny. Poor cat, that collar looks too small.

HAVE 2 want another one, don't know what it is seems like I can't have enough. The baby will b 1 in December n the other one 2 in August. Want a black one. Never had cats only dogs, moved to cats, don't know much about them. Both of mine r x female
