LOL...love that you are saying this stuff here in a "safe" place and not to them. The older I get, the harder it is to hold back! BTW, make some room on that rocket for a few of my crazy relatives, will ya? Thanks!

OK. It started with a comment about wine causes bc.

I posted, "Darn, I just gave up cocktails for wine. I thought wine was healthier for you."

Then it evolves into any alcohol creates estrogen. "I'm like, but I'm on AIs". I don't have any estrogen." Then a big lecture about fat, healthy lifestyle, alcohol...blah...blah...blah. I'm like, "Why don't you just shoot me now" (just thinking it, didn't say it). I'm thinking, what the F#%k else is this cancer going to take away from me? I just shut my mouth and left the thread.

The next day I found a wonderful thread about ladies who drink (in moderation) and are living life, telling bad jokes and just having fun. Guess who crept in? The hypocrite from the other thread. First she blasts everyone on the site (fat, healthy lifestyle, alcohol, blah...blah...blah). Then she tried to be a buddy and said, "I'm so stressed. I think I have a drink....or two" (with a little happy face). What a hypocritical be-och. Just trying to suck the life out of everyone.

Wow Keyz, nothing frosts my cookies as much as a damn hypocrite. I would have blasted her (but she would not have known it until she really thought about it cause I am evil like that...lol) and then I would have made sure that I called her out for the hypocrite that she is. I would have said "Hey....doesn't wine make you fat which stores estrogen and causes BC? That is what you said on the other thread so am very surprised to see you here." At least I would have said that..

april485....So you saw that too? I didn't know where she was coming from. I was beginning to wonder if it was me. I didn't want to be all negative and upset the newbies, so I just left. The gals on the other thread weren't to crazy about her comments either. But they were nice about it.

I feel validated. I can laugh about it now. Thanks.

    I'm in Sas!

Here is a good one. I have a client (I am an Employment Specialist who helps people overcome barriers to finding work and often send them to short term vocational training paid for by the federal government in the form of a grant) who comes to me working part time. She qualifies for the program because her family is receiving food stamps as she does not earn enough so we can help her despite working because it isn't full time work.

She tells me she has fibromyalgia and foot problems which means her job as a hairdresser is not working well for her anymore due to the fact that she is on her feet all day. I suggest taking some clerical skills training. What does she tell me SHE wants to go to school for? CULINARY! You know, the type of job where you STAND ALL DAY in a hot kitchen cooking and baking? I tried to explain that this is not a good idea for her but she insists that there are SIT DOWN jobs in restaurant kitchens! I worked in restaurants for years as my family owns several (grandfather did, uncle and aunt and cousin did...hey I am Greek and food is what we do..LOL) and there are NO sit down jobs in the restaurant business. Not one. Nada. NONE!

She asked to speak to my supervisor. Really corked her when I told her that today, I AM the supervisor...LOL

Anyway, my boss will shoot down this training request most likely due to her telling me she wants to leave hairdressing due to the on here feet issue. HA! Take that!

So I saw this post on Facebook today. Really. Do people really read these things before they post. Same for the depression post that is going around.

    Let's slay this dragon!!!!!!
Trying to look good, but after chemo and radiation ... you know the person physically changed and there is shock !!
I know many of you do not give a damn of this message because of course, the cancer has not touched you. You do not know what it's like to have fought the fight or had a loved one who leads a battle against cancer. For all the men and women I know, I ask you a small favor and only some of you will do ... If you know someone who has led a battle against cancer, still struggling or who have passed, please add this to your status for one hour as a mark of respect and remembrance ......

My rant for today. Almost ready to book plane tickets for Christmas but I have an appointment at the hospital to check out 2 lumps in my bad breast and another one in "good" breast. DH is hesitant to book non refundable tickets until we know what the lumps are. Hoping they are just cysts but it has us freaked out and now I understand what he means but I'm getting tired of the "what if" game. Just really sick of it..

    (((JJ)))

Sas, he sure can't hurt! LOL

Brutersmom, I saw this on FB too and just ignored it cause it usually annoys me when someone is a "pink crusader" for the month of October and everyone posts this to "honor" BC "survivors" and then it goes out of their minds immediately and they don't have a freaking clue. Just remember, November is coming and they will forget all about BC!

April485, I owned and managed restaurants for years, and I did have a few sit down employees. NOT sit down jobs, just a few sit down employees. Former employees. Duh.

Sorry, I don't peek in here too often. The memes are great! I rarely drink, but feeling it this coming weekend. I need to get away from myself for just a bit. The tears were rolling yesterday and I am not really sure why.....I did hear of a terminal friend who has made the choice to not continue with chemo, and some other things I wasn't told/didn't know regarding radiation. The tears just kind of rolled after that :(

Some moments/days are good. Some moments/days are bad. Hang in there ladies.

Beachbum, I have seen my share of those employees for sure. I managed a restaurant for 10 years and those folks are why I knew I had to further my education and get OUT before I turned into a raging alcoholic! LOL! Thanks for the smiles.

My rant for this morning; Got my rad tattoos yesterday, heard about a terminal friend deciding to quit chemo Wed. Tears have been randomly falling since.

Im tired of everyone expecting me to be constantly happy and when Im not they assume its all about them!!!

Everyone seems to forget what all my life encompasses; single mom of 3, full time employee, life & fighting cancer.

Just because I've been deemed cancer free does not mean it's over.

Simplicity....beautiful rant. Totally agree. Do you ever get "congratulations" on being a survivor and you want to scream...Why? Because I won a raffle ticket? Because my life is easier? Staying positive and getting through the day, putting on happy face for kids and spouse/relatives is a full time job in itself....on top of a full time job. I hear you!!!!!

My rant: went to ultrasound appt only to find out after waiting for 1.5 hours that they were still 2 hours behind. As I told the receptionist after she lectured me about the "poor women in front of me who must have had bad news so things were taking longer"....um, yea, I WAS ONE OF THOSE WOMEN... while it wasn't her fault, I have a right to be angry because whoever schedule's diagnostic mammos and ultras should not just leave 20 - 30 min per appt....especially when it's DIAGNOSTIC. This area is ALWAYS running late so clearly they don't staff enough people at their "World Class Health Care" hospital. These are not routine appts...it's people there because they suspect something is wrong. I had to leave to go pick up my son. Damn the system.

7of9, have you checked the Cleveland area thread? I'm trying to get a social group to meet up for dinner, outings etc.

Sorry you had such a terrible experience with your appointment. Maybe the location? I have the best care, and have never had a problem. Maybe try another location. Cheryl

7of9 - I'm anxious and angry about going in for my 1st post BC Diagnostic/3D Mammo tomorrow. Surprised to feel this way and ready to get it behind me. I'm sorry and outraged you were treated with such disrespect and un professionalism. Damn the system is right - hope I'm treated better tomorrow but I'm finding as BC gets to be big business around here, the personal touch gets lost. Peaceful night to you all, Lind

Okay, my total rant for the day, seriously steamed. Guess a new article came out about bacon and red meat causing cancer, declared by the World Health Organization? Haven't we beat the blame game horse to death? Or is the media still playing the blame game? Oh you're fat and got breast cancer - your fault. Omg, you ate bacon and got breast cancer - your fault. Omg, you drank water contaminated by some corporation and got breast cancer - your fault. Fill in the blank with some activity you did and then got breast cancer - your fault.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonkblog/wp/201...

What a bunch of crap that report is. I'm waiting for people who have eaten vegetarian to chime in here soon. We get more nitrates/nitrites in natural and fermented food than by eating bacon.

So how many here don't eat meat and got breast cancer? Could they do some real research already? I guess since the included the word "CAN" in the title, that makes it good research?

I'm headed off for a bacon sandwich myself. I'll put some avocado on there so I feel better about it.

    Italy Chick,

I must respectfully disagree with you. Bacon and other processed meats do contribute to cancer. Not breast cancer, colon cancer. As with so many things, it's dose related. We just don't know the safe dosage for each individual.

This is a real sore topic in my family. My husband likes to tell anyone who will listen how his stage 4 colon cancer is "just bad luck" . That's not true. It has everything to do with the choices he made. Smokes like a chimney, eats like a pig, morbidly obese, lives in front of the TV, eats mostly junk food, eats TONS of processed meats, and absolutely refused to ever get a colonoscopy. I don't believe in blaming the victim, but this man is NOT a victim. He's already cussing about this new #$!%*¥€ !!! study. Perhaps he won't be able to get strangers to feel sorry for him now. I feel very sad that he chose to destroy our future.

BTW no matter what you call the glass, it won't budge from the halfway mark.

Wish I was in Carlsbad too, so lovely!

    De
