Good morning hermits- hope everyone is waking up feeling good today.

Cami- good to hear from you and that Joey is special, and I love that he asked to come in to seranade you. LOL, that the cat ran away too! I posted a video of Eddie Daniels for him, perhaps his first introduction to jazz. I hope he likes the music!

Bippy- you will get right through those rads and there are threads here with groups going through rads together. I was on a Winter Rads thread in 2013. I am wishing you the best with the rest of your treatment.

Mommy- I don't like selfish people either. People who come around when they want something or have a problem. I have gotten rid of a lot of the friends who do this, but you can't fire your family, you have to just manage the relationship as you are doing. And you are so right, you need to focus your time and attention on more important things.

Blondie- so what is the connect between the meds and the gas stove?

Mags- I hope you were able to reschedule your apts I know you need to do.....

Heading to a busy day of work and prof org meeting tonight. I am chipping away at the dinner plans so I don't feel so overwhelmed, which is the way I was feeling last week about the whole thing.

Hope everyone has a reasonable day....

Yeah. Camille. I know when the right one will come along, I'll feel it as if Charcoal is saying to me "mommy, here is the one that I think is for you."

Jazzy, over the course of my life I've come to realize that selfish and negative people have no place in my life. All they do is just drag me down and I don't need that anymore!

Bippy, believe me when I say that getting your last dose of chemo feels like you've won the lottery! I can remember how I felt on that day, I was so like you, ready to move on to something else!

Yay Bippy for the last chemo. Rads will be a breeze. Sorry can't remember what surgery you are having.

Jazzy - Blondie meant oxygen, not oxycodone. I had to read it twice too. Love your NM pictures. Did I tell you that DH and I both lived in Albuquerque as children? I lived there twice actually once in about 1955 then again from 1958-1961. Off Eubank and Candelaria. DH and I have often talked about moving back but I think it's pretty much beyond us at this point. He's about to turn 64 though very spry and mod. physically active job. I'm 62. Only DD lives here but that is always subject to change since she has only the encumbrance of 2 cats to move if she wishes oh that and the new job to support the move HaHa.

Mommy - I just count that as MIL's loss. Some people just cannot see beyond the end of their own nose that they are busy cutting off. Hugs. Stay warm.

Mags - I hope too you got your appts. rescheduled. We had only a dusting of snow but are expecting major rain (YIPEE seriously) on Saturday. Sorry for those here with Sat. plans but you know how badly we need rain. One of the worst grassfire seasons we had was in January several years ago.

Hi Hermies. I had my appointment with LE specialist yesterday, I have 8% LE, not enough for therapy but enough for a sleeve. I have my biopsy today for those two lumps. Then the rads nurse called and they want to get me in for (I can't remember the term) the thing they do before they start rads. (Sheesh! Chemo brain sucks!) They wanted to do it today but I said I couldn't because I'm having a biopsy. So now they want to wait til they have the pathology report. So Wednesday. Haven't heard back from the endocrinologist, but that's not vital.

    Jazzy, I love your picture.

M0, I had a MIL like that. No fun. DH's mom was a sweetheart. I adored her. She did such a good job raising him. I agree, Charcoal will let you know when you find the right kitty.

Congratulations to Bippy for joining the PFC ranks! Will you get to ring a bell? Hope your final SEs are minimal.

LMG, I spent a semester in Albuquerque, my one semester in college. Enough to turn me wild. Of course, the seeds were sown long before that.

Cami, that's so sweet about Joey and his serenade. And the cat. We are just having a quiet Thanksgiving here, just us three. And a turkey.

Blondie, I hope your DS doesn't blow up the kitchen. Don't suppose you have one of those electric roaster gizmos, do you? That's what we use and it's so easy and the meat is so moist. Faster than an oven, too.

Well, Rose has been moisturizing my feet... Time to go get ready for my biopsy... Erg.

Cami, thanks for sharing another Joey happening ... it warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.  You will probably be surprised how much clarinet progress he makes by the end of the school year.  When my students gave their band concert after one school year, I was always amazed at what the band teacher had accomplished.  How anyone could teach so much to classes of 30 or so students playing about 5 different instruments in three one hour sessions a week, always astounded me.

Hi hermits- long day today but made it through. I had a ton of meetings at the client site and then a prof org dinner, and glad to finally be home.

We were talking about my last day on this short gig being 12/19 and my client and I talked later and she said she and her CFO both feel things are in a much better place than they were in than a few months ago. So it does not sounds like they are going to ask me to stay longer (whew). My accountant also did my end of the year tax review and says I am good on my quarterly tax payments, so I may not have to do any more there. What this means is that jazzy can leave in December without any big worries around her cash flow again for a bit. I am really ready to go again too!

Now that being said, I made the decision I wanted to get through my next follow up (late Jan) before I start anything new but January is not exactly the best time to be on another break to do fun stuff. So I am going to talk to my painter and my flooring guy about finishing the renovations in the remaining rooms. My house still feels unfinished and that would be a good use of my time and then will feel more ready to resume on all fronts. And I think it will be a do-able time now financially. Wish me luck, got some conversations to get started with my contractors.......

Luv- I did not know you had roots here. It is a great retirement spot, but I realize it gets harder to think about moving after awhile. I started coming out here in the early 1980s and finally moved here in 1996. It has really grown since my early days of coming here, I can only imagine the changes you would see now from when you were here.

Mommy- you have such a good attitude. I will say I spent too many years with too many selfish people and one sided relationships. Now I am much better at seeing those people sooner for who they are and either not going there to start, or just cutting things when people starting pushing their expectations on me. One thing about selfish people is that they will find someone else, so if you just step aside and let them move along, they usually will not bother you anymore. But I do have those random cling ons and some of them are starting to surface now around the holidays.....

Onco- glad you liked the link. I figured a few folks here might enjoy hearing Eddie Daniels. He is magic on that clarinet.

Mags- I am glad you got in for your LE apt. I hope the sleeve helps. Sending you positive energy for good outcomes on the biopsies.

Hoping everyone else here had an okay thursday. Going to head to bed and be ready for another busy day tomorrow. Looking forward to the end of this week. It has been a hard one on several fronts.

Jazzy, it was good to hear that your work world will end the year smoothly.  Your accent wall in the dining room turned out beautifully.  You mentioned painters.  Do you have an idea for more accent walls?

Bippy, do you think your surgery will be in December?

Teka, the global warming cartoon is cute as well as thought provoking.

M0mmy, I do believe that our departed animals stay in our lives.  Talking with my Annie provides great peace.

    Hi LuvMyGoats, Mags, and Onco.

    Night all!

Hi hermits- middle of the night sleepless. So here I am!

Sally- I do want to put some accent colors in my extra bedrooms. One will have a soft pink and the other some type of purple (maybe deeper) as those are the dominate colors those two rooms. I still really love my accent wall in the kitchen (and my new hardwood floors too). I hope I can get the rest finished.

Blondie- don't worry, I am taking care of myself. A bit of a stressful time this week, but tomorrow I am off site from work (some work to finish in the am) and have the cleaning company coming to do a good monthly cleaning. That will be great to have done before the company arrives early in the week. They are in Vegas now until they start their way out here on Sunday.

Teka- I wish you could come with us too. I think you would love our bird refuge. I have not been down there in the winter months in 4 years.

Watching a scary movie. How do I go back to sleep now?

    lol

What I miss about Charcoal was how he used to "talk" to birds and squirrels and how he used to try and catch leaves that were blowing around and the snowflakes when they would come close to the window where he used to lounge. He'd even "talk" to me when I would hang clothes out in the summer time and he's be in his window.

Decided that we are going to take videos of the new furbaby as it grows so that we could look back at them later on. We didn't do this with Charcoal or Jackson, but we should have.

Mommy- that is a nice idea to take videos of the new kitten. Are you going this weekend to the shelter to see if the black kitten is still there? I hope so, or that another kitten may be there waiting for you. Whenever I go to a shelter, I want to take everybody home with me.

Yep. Hubby is going to try and call the lady who runs the shelter to see if she will keep the kitten there til we get there.

For any of you who have ACA plans through the open market, be sure if you are renewing on your plan that your doctors are all still in network (and as we know, we have a few doctors these days). I checked today and found out my primary care doc is not taking my PPO plan next year, although all my other docs are in network but as I will see her the most, I am going to change my plan to an HMO plan that will work with her and all the others. I will be adding that of my list of to-dos this weekend.

I knew to do this last year when I picked a new plan and was reminded the other day to check the doctors for the renewals on the plans (first time since ACA went into effect), so the bottom line is, they may renew your current plan but you may loose things so look carefully!

A friend of mine in Tenn. has an ACA health plan and she was telling me that the price she's paying for it is going up. This doesn't sound so affordable to me!

Mommy, mine went down on my current plan (they went up in some states, down in others because of increased competition). The new HMO contract may be even a bit less. I live in a very poor state so even though I still pay a lot, they cannot jack the rates up here any further.

Trying to finalize something for the client site that can never seen to be done. It's for an assessment in a few weeks we really need to get on the calendar and now I just feel like it was a mistake to suggest they get it done in December. If I cannot get it finalized today, I am going to recommend they reschedule it to January when they can get better support for this with their management. And hey, I will be gone by then too (LOL!) I don't have time to keep reworking it and especially with the holiday coming. They are bugging me a lot this week.

Going to personal training now, and hope everyone is having a good day!

HELL TO THE YES, in the timeless parlance of Whitney Houston! DONE with /&:););' chemo. What a long, strange ride it has been. Headed home to relax in pjs and eat some decent food while I am able. Crappy, trash tv, carbohydrates. DH, and kitty cats.....what more could one ask for?

Stay warm my cold friends. Got the Emend so we shall see....hope it works.

Good news on this Friday for a few hermits here.

Mags- I was hoping it was either fluid or fat necrosis. I had a bunch of those pop up in my surgical areas within the first six months of surgery. Whew, good to know you are not facing anything new. Onward and upward!

Bippy- so glad to hear you are through chemo. Enjoy something good to eat before the SEs hit. What a good thing to be done with.

Unlike the following, we're in the Adirondack Mountains and get just a little lake-effect snow!
