Mags- yes, soy is out for me too. I used to drink unsweetened soy milk once upon a time, but no more. I got some groceries today and have milk again so I will be ready for tomorrow morning! I got an extra cup of coffee while I was out and about today, as I felt I did not have enough java this am.
Stores are busy with Thanksgiving meal shoppers today. I got a lot of things purchased today for my dinner that could be purchased this far in advance. That will leave only a bit of grocery shopping right before for some of the fresher veggies I need.
-
Got the last of the Thanksgiving shopping done today.
-
Good job Mommy! The pickin's will be better this weekend than next, I think!

Jazzy, hey

recuperating from the 9 places that I went to yesterday, am getting a PET scan just to see what is going on since I stopped chemo, having pain but that is supposed to b, mostly bones.
HAPPY SATURDAY... thought I had to go out tomorrow realy want to make meatloaf, but George has to go to the drs. on monday so can wait and go out then.

Onco- glad your party went well. Yes, I am two years out from diagnosis (Sept 2012) and had surgery on Nov 14th that year. I had the ruptured appendix and open abdominal surgery in between. That was one spectacular fall. I am about to head into my fourth six month follow up in the Jan-Feb timeline.
Next test I am doing is getting an updated bone density check in early Dec, to see how the bones are doing on the AIs. I am hoping all the personal training/weights/weight bearing exercise has helped with that. I also did reduce all the details on my bi-line as it was all a bit too much to read every time.
And yes, here is to heading into a year of good health and feeling stronger. Onward and upward into year #3.....
Blondie- probably not a bad idea to get the scan to see how you are doing. I hope your time at the shore was good. You sound better and hope you are feeling better too? Mags is getting a PET scan as well. I hope everything goes okay there for both of you.
I am not a football fan but did see the game in passing today and it looked like it was snowing there.
I hope everyone had a decent day, and wish you all a good night's rest. Good night my hermits.
-
Thank for the commits on the shopping cart dog. I am very sad
that this world is breaking so many laws and can get away with it.
I didn't sleep very well last night and so I said an easy day today.
had trouble breathing, But that's one thing faith helps me with. I am
very grateful for all she does. Hope everyone takes care, and has a nice
evening.
-
Hi! Just popping in to say hello. I was in hospital for 3 days but was lurking. Hope everyone is ok. I'm doing better but not thrilled I now have to be on heart meds. Hope everyone has a peaceful night.
-
Hi everyone---wow I don't realize how much I miss---I didn't really Ketchup with everyone yet.
Maiden u just said u've been in the hospital--what is going on??? I hope u'r feeling better. They think Herceptin screwed my heart up, but they didn't exactly say it like that, so I'm on meds for it, but I think everything screwed it up.
Blondie did u go to the shore---I don't blame u for loving it and I know it's not just being waited on, it's being with u'r family--I love when we do family things I get s excited and when something happens that I can't go I get so upset. I hope ur doing OK.
Jazzy U are something, I can't wait to see u'r table all set.
MO hope things are going well for u.
Onco what a nice luncheon u had and sounds like fun--So glad u all got to enjoy it.
Foot I hope u had a better day and always rest when u feel the need to.
I've been kind of busy with work--lots of furnaces and generators already, so many people are having problems and they need someone like now--and I'm all over the place trying to help as many people as possible but it's not easy for me, cuz I forget too. And Joeys busy with lots of homework, his friends and let's not forget the clarinet Oy vey but we still had our alone time last night, which I enjoy and he still does, Thank God.
Oh I want everyone to feel good, altho I know that's not possible al the time--And some of u or all f u got u'r shot. U brave women. I have never had one. I know stupid of me, but I just don't like it.
My DD2 started school and I always hope she can do it. Shes the one who is Bi-Polar and when too much is going on she has difficulty big time, but she's just going PT and she does enjoy it so that help and its only for 10 months --we just watch her closely but I can't help but worry some--last time she went to school she was short 2 months from getting her license---but she sure as hell can cut and do hair well now, just no license, but she really doesn't want to do that anymore, She wants to be an Estatition (sp) and right now it's big going thing cuz u can get a job with a plastic surgeon or a high end place. So we're all hoping and praying so she can make some money hahaha
We got our first official snowfall today --last time I looked it was about 2 inches, but we're not upposed to be getting much, we'll see.
Mags how are u doing?
xxxoooxxx

Starting to get back to some sense of normal since I lost Charcoal. Its hard but its slowly getting better. Had a monster crying jag while showering yesterday and I keep asking myself what did he do to deserve what happened to him, but I have no answers. Our dog Jackson is being a bit mopey without the cat around. They were best friends since they were raised together. Jackson never minded Charcoal drinking from his water dish. Hubby thought it would be a good idea to go out looking for a new kitty, he thinks Chacoal would have wanted that.

Good morning hermits- waking up to a wet patio this morning and Weather.com says snow showers this morning. It was a lovely mild day yesterday, so I took advantage of that with outdoor work, but today will be more of an indoor day. Except for the daily trip to the gym.
Cami- good to hear from you and glad to hear Joey is doing well. I like that he is playing clarinet too. Google Eddie Daniels on You Tube to see one really amazing clarinetist. Eddie does classical and jazz, and lives in Santa Fe and is a world famous clarinest. I got to see him here for a concert several years back, and he is amazing.
I also hope your daughter does well with her new program. I think esteticians do well, especially if they can get in to a higher end spa or work for a plastics doc. We have some medical spas here that do all kinds of procedures that are not plastics and many work there. I know the bi-polar thing is tough too, many in my family have it too. I wish her the best.
Maiden- I am sorry to hear about your hospitalization and heart meds. Hugs sister and hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted on how you are doing or lurk, it is all good however it works for you.
Mommy- what did I miss here? You lost your cat? The same one you were talking about feeding tuna too the other day? So hard to loose a pet, I wish you peace today sister.
-
What happened to Charcoal? I must have missed it too......
-
Good morning (barely) Hermies! I'm having a quiet day, watching the snow blowing around like crazy. We're not expecting much accumulation, fortunately. I have an early appointment tomorrow with the LE specialist, then the endocrinologist for thyroid checkup. Hopefully the roads won't be too bad.
M0, I understand about losing your furbaby. It's so hard to let go. Since we've been married we've lost 3 pups who lived to 15, 2 who lived to 17, and our sweet Rufus, a Maine Coon who was only 12. We now have 2 pups, Nacho and Rose, ages 8 & 7, and kitty Sophie, age 2. After my Ace died, the pup who I delivered 17 years earlier, I was heartbroken and dogless. I lasted 35 days. Then Rose came along. They do help you heal.
Cami, I'm glad your daughter is trying school PT, that should be easier to handle. And Joey on the clarinet, how cool! My GS plays the cello. I'm glad his other GM is close enough to go to recitals.
Jazzy, enjoy your quiet day, do you have a busy week ahead?
Blondie, Teka, Foots, etc., hugs.
-
Jazzy & Lily, we had to put Charcoal to sleep due to kidney failure. Nothing I did wrong but the vet said that there was nothing we could do really to save him.
-
Maiden, sorry to hear that you had to have a hospital stay and hope that the heart meds do their job without side effects.
Cami, I love hearing about Joey. I was wondering how the clarinet was going. It sounds like he is practicing which, at first, can be interesting for the family. DD2 is in my thoughts.
M0, so sorry about Charcoal.
Lily, how are you?
Jazzy, your area sounds wonderful ... you mention so many artists from all art forms.
-
I had a very long conversation with an old friend this weekend and she really listened and got it so feeling ok today........thank you Sally.........
Mommy had to have my cat pts same year as I was diagnosed, as well as my first dog.....heart rending.....feel for you
-
Hi hermits- well, I got the beginnings of the table set for the holiday dinner. I had to do some re-arranging of the dining room area, as I have it differently for the winter months with all the plants I have to move indoors for the winter. They live there until the warmer months as it gets good light there. Looks like a greenhouse for sure, but think I got things where they need to be. I will set the dishes and the rest closer to the time, just got the table cloth place mats, etc. on the table so that is done. Still lots to do here at the house today, but a cold day outside and a good day for indoor things.
Mags- yes I do have a busy week ahead. Working three days, plus three prof networking events Tue-Thurs. Important for me to keep putting myself out there right now for new work opps for next year. I may opt out of the Wed night one though as I realized it is a bit much. The Tues and Thurs ones are must dos though. One is the morning, and one in the evening. I don't like to be out too many evenings in a row (just cannot sustain that energy wise).
I hope your apts go well tomorrow and you get to and from safely.
Mommy- well, I am sorry about your kitty. Sometimes things happened like this unexpectedly. I hope you can make today and easy day.
Lily- so glad to hear you had a good chat with a friend who can just listen. My best friend still lives in my home state and is always able to listen to whatever is going on without judgement. It sounds like it really helped you. It is important to be heard when going through difficult times. I hope that friend is going to keep in touch with you.
It sounds like we got a bunch of snow here last night. High today will only be 40. Cold for here.
-
Called the shelter where we got him and they have some kittens there. They said they had a 8 week old black male kitty, hoping he will still be there this weekend.
-
*Good Evening*
Maiden, continue to feel better!!
MO as I public posted on the *INSOMNIACS* thread, sorry, but enjoy searching for that special kitten.
Lily, blessed if an old friend listened and understood. I'm blessed with a childhood friend.
Husband, Daughter, and I just returned home from a day trip to the Vermont Country Store to get X-mas stocking stuffers!
BBL
-
I am so far.
-
-
Its almost like he is here pushing me to find another kitty to heal my broken heart.
-
I know the loss and grief, Daughter found Teka a month after other sweet kitty passed away! Has been 5 years, and still tear up from time to time.
-
Teka- so jealous, I love the Vermont Country Store. I get there catalog and have not ordered anything lately, but do look.......
Mommy- a nice 8 week old kitten waiting for you. I bet he will be there this weekend. We will want a picture too, we love kittens here. My sister ended up with a sweet little black cat, and I told my sister her name should be Onyx, and it took! It will not replace the love you had for your other dear feline, but will be a furry little something to love.....
It has been very cold today and windy today (in the 30s but high winds make it feel so bitter), so I did not go out in the end. I did a lot of things around the house and getting better order around here. Finishing a status report for work tonight, plus a few other things I did not get done end of the week as planned.
I talked to a friend in town today who just got diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She is having surgery in early December, and has been told her cancer is a particularly aggressive kind, so they are going to throw everything at it- surgery, chemo and rads. I told her I am going to bring her some high protein foods for healing when she gets home from the hospital and will be someone she can tap into for picking up scripts and the like if she needs things like that done. She said she is spending a lot of time trying to make others feel better about what is going on (I remember that part only too well.....)
I hope everyone stayed warm today and/or enjoyed the snow if you got some this weekend. Looks like there were lots of football games on today.
-
M0mmyof2 Hope you will be able to enjoy a new kitten soon
I know I have put my cat to sleep before and its very hard. They
are like Your kids.
I hope everyone is staying safe and warm, very cold everywhere.
Jazzygirl, I am still working to find a way around the stores without
getting bit.
To all the other wonderful people here, thinking of You and praying that all
is getting better. God bless You.
-
hey there everybody hope you had a nice weekend. Jazz you sure are busy either in the house or out of the house
Sorry bout charcoal, i am still also looking 4 another kittdn, the right one just hasnt come along. I can't go to the SPCA or any other kind of place that you can get them from because you have to fill out an application and you have to take your order lease and it has to say that you can have animals on my mind since you can't although I have 3
