Happy birthday to you!
-
Thank you THIRD LOL, and LMG , and Patty
Nettie, I explained why the pain changed. Girl read your boxes on page 523. The rads table and the body mechanics(movement) getting on and off that hard table would be aggravating to a normal spine. Your spine isn't normal. Please, read the link on Spine-health.com (link on pg523.)--Adult Scoliosis. Nettie, You need to do your homework assignment. I did mine. Talk with your doc in August, BUT AGAIN. unless you study and know what the info says, you won't convince him of anything. Not fair, if I spend lots of thinking time on your problem and then you don't follow through on your end.
Yes things with back and shoulder girdle could be related to scarring from rads, BUT the logical first step is to evaluate the pre-existing condition. If you WOULD read the scoliosis page--(link page 523) you will understand.
Have you noticed I'm standing on my head to get you to read everythingwhat I've written on PAGE 523.
On the bra thingy, you assumed only MX ladies have bra problems. Not true. Plenty of problems for BMX ladies. Reconon or no recon for either. The gals mentoring the Bras thread have accumulated a great deal of info and guidance for members covering all things related to post mastectomy garments. A treasure trove of info.
-
I also believe you Sass lol I have sisters that are twins lol mom did not know till she was 5 weeks pregnant and saw a doctor cuz her back was hurting her, back in those days mom didn't follow up regularly her pregnancies no wonder I am the last of 10 lol after me mom move to separate rooms doctor said one more and you wont make it. Poor mom. She said in those days church ⛪ didn't allow her to take pills
Oh well happy birthday to you, your twin and Chevy too lol
-
Sas, I have read it all!!! Everything there is to read about Scoliosis!! My problem is that I never had consistent pain prior to BC treatments!! I’m sorry if you don’t think I’ve read, but I have!! Not sure if you remember me saying, but there is now a brace called Spinecor! I’ve also done research on this! It seems to offer relief to adults suffering from Scoliosis pain! My problem is that insurance won’t pay for it and I’m not at a financial point that I can pay out right! Let me rephrase, insurance covers but it’s out of network, so I have to pay the largest portion because of the out of network deductibles are very high!! And there is NOT an in network doctor for this particular brace!
Also, sorry if I missed something important in the reading! Maybe I’m not the brightest bulb on the lamp these days! I'm going back to find the link and read again!
And about the bra thing, I only had a lumpectomy which overall has NOT affected the way my bras fit! I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to bras that didn't roll and curl.
-
Is there an easy way to get back to page 523? Like I said, I'm not the brightest bulb in the lamp these days!
-
Nettie - go up to the URL at the top of the page. We are currently on pg 536. Just erase 536 in the URL and type in 523. Looks like this so you know which bar I mean. Make sure you are in read mode, not reply. Pg # doesn't show in reply mode.

Edited to add - after you change page number just hit enter.

Happy Birthday SAS. Don't let DBF forget. Ask him where he's taking you for your birthday today.
-
Okay, I believe you too..... WHAT is it that I believe? Happy Birthday Girl-friend! xoxoxoxo
-
Oh Thanks Wren, In a moment of weakness I said to DBF, if he forgot something. He was able to pull it out ,after I said he forgot same thing last year. Going out this weekend when DS comes home Thanks
Enerva, Thanks
I had a friend that parents left the church in the 60's after their 18th child. Only one set of twins--17 pregnancies WHEW.Talk about fertile. They all lived under the same roof. Great family. VERY organized. The church just didn't do well by your folks or my friends folks.
Chevy Thank you
-
I'm the purple one.
Happy birthday Sass. Are you and Susan identical twins? Is she near enough to celebrate together? Next year you guys should do something big!
-
Susan thanks, She's in Mich. near Saginaw, I'm in Florida. Neither of us will fly b/c her LE was caused by flying and I won't risk it.
But your right should think of doing something next year @ 65. Last big party was when we were 50. That was big--Canadaians, Calif, Idiaho, Ohio, Mi.
Have fun with DD visit or was that Chevy
Smarrty, Thanks
JWOOOOOHOOOOOO we are missing you
-
Sas I believe u too, Chevy's the shady one, but I know her BD is tomorrow--I really feel bad that u don't live close to u'r sister. I could never move from my sister tho, I'd be lost, my cousin too.
Nettie I do remember when I had breast LOL and I was like a C cup and I wore glamorize bras, because the didn't roll up they had a larger band on the bottom and no wires and it did a good job holding up my lost girls. Nettie I don't understand 1/2 of what's going on here sometimes so never feel lke u'r not the brightest bulb cuz I think I'm the lowest watt u can have. I also have scoliosis after BC tho, never had a back problem, now I have big back problems but not cancer, from all this crap--so I know the pain u'r in and it isn't fun, I can stand for about a minute then my back feels like it crumbling and now I've started spasms, which I never had before, my eyes hurt when I have them LOL--I do my PT excercises but in the long run they haven't done anything for me, tht's why when I go out and "party{ when I come home I'm pretty much not moving for a couple of days, it's so bad. and that's why too I don't always come on the boards cuz if I get a comfortable position, I'm not moving as long as I can. I hope somehow u find relief with this mess.
OK I talked enough . I'll BBL -
sas !!!!!!!!
Happy birthday !!!!!
-
Hi everyone, Just checkin' in--How's everyone's day going.?
I've been a little busy and of course busy sounding stupid (shut up Chevy) A company emailed us about stuff and I really thought I was adding my own special thing to it for my guys to read, but instead I answered their email--certainly not meaning to. So my idiotic way of thinking has gone to another company. This is what I wrote----A banana has 50% of our DNA, so if my brain is mushy sometime, blame the banana---Now this is a true statement about the 50% but I don't think it belongs in a company's email--Oh well--we'll see.
It's in the 70's here now and maybe get some rain this week, but not going over 80, so tht's not so bad.
OK I'm going for now.
-
Cami seriously, A banana has 50% of our DNA. No cabana's? Aren't we shy of a couple percent from some monkey?
Great dinner out. Filet Mignon. Same place I ate filet after crani. Nice. Now a bottle of wine. To placate our dear wonderful Chevy, please, don't ask me a political question
Otherwise, I will pontificate most vociferously. On the other hand, you could amuse yourself, and see if I can pontificate upon whatever you might throw my way.
DBF out to gamble, but not before I got his bill money due by the first. AH_HAH, I have him on the staright and crooked versus just the crooked.
SPOOKIE---you rascal, I got it, just a few minutes ago, didn't look earlier. Bodacious and bawdy LOL. Thanks!
Susan, Oh thank, you for the cake. Wish I did have one candle :0) then I'd be looking at 2065 as today's birthday
-
Yes I am serious about the banana====and Sas I'm glad u had a wonderful BD.
-
TeeHeee!
-
Hot d#!$ Sas! My hip/upper thighfeels so much better. Ibuprofen and stretches (for what you mentioned and thigh muscles) seemed to help. Glad you're having a good birthday.
Chevy, I sent a birthday wish a day too early? That's not like me. Usually I'm late
-
Yay Dutchy LOL was it in the call? I've started the stretches and bends again. Had to wait for Priuspain to calm down. &*^$@pain. Layers. Pain has layers. Do to much to correct, can create problems, do to little can create problems-------Walk and stretch------but as earlier stated, a wrong stretch can hurt for a VERY long time. Also, falling over dogs that change there patterns of sleepingareas, laying & behaviors , and holes covered by grass.
Be very careful about stretches---------the whole sports medicine community is changing the stretching thing.
But they haven;t talked about the simple stretches that you and I would do-----like getting up and out of bed ----being about our daily lives----all the news is about athletes. Well I was an athlete about 35-40 years ago.
GolfGirl 's an atlhlete
dbf home --Off for awhile maybe night------------Love you alll
JWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWO DAYS IN A ROW, YOU WONDERFULGAL
-
Are you always up so late Sas? It seems I'm up later and later. I don't work today so it'll be ok.
-
happy birthday Chevy. Thought I'd get this up before I head to bed. You're probably already asleep by now.
-
OH, GOOD GRIEF! I could have sworn I posted Happy Birthday wishes but it seems I did not. But count me in with those who are celebrating! (Crap memory - head injury!!!)
Speaking of head injury, I get my MRI tomorrow morning. We'll find out what's inside that skull of mine.
What's in there right now, I can tell you, is not good.....
I was hosing down the patio this evening, trying to get a dead leaf to move. It wasn't a leaf. It was a giant turd. I called DH, who examined it with me (we are like the Dick Tracy of chit - must be a mountain thing) and determined it was possum poop.
Good Lord, the smell nearly knocked both of us over.
I sprayed it with Lysol, DH gloved up and got a Ziplock bag, and I scooped it up with a trowel. Then I sprayed the patio and the trowel with Lysol again and let it sit. I hosed everything down then sprayed AGAIN... and it STILL stinks!
Did you ever get a smell into your brain? DH wonders if it will show up on the MRI.
I am off to shower, wash my hair, and do a sinus rinse. Bleaghhhh!!!!
p.s. Set out dishes of ammonia in case Mr. Possum decides to revisit the scene of the crime.
-
Chevster and Sassafrass!
PawPrint- I would ask for a port or something if it is going to be a permanent treatment. Seems like they would be able to figure out why you are not absorbing the iron.. sorry to hear it isn't improving much. Snuggs and Annie Mae are so adorable.
Chevy- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!Did you get that fence painted? Sorry you had to watch your grandmother change that way. Get your hearing aid fixed! ID theft- what a mess. These thieves- if they spent half of the energy they put into ripping others off, they might solve some real issues in this world.
Susan- Good to hear that your DH had an incident free surgery. Awesome news about your daughter! Are you getting any relief from the SEs? Send some of that cool air south please.
PattyP- So glad you had some pain-free time!
3rdtime- Hope you are feeling good right now.
Stix- How is your recovery going?
Enerva- Your photos are the best! you always share such relaxing images. and the baby and dog- too cute!
Luv- my BF got me a white noise machine- he hated the fan being on all the time. it is great as it is small enough to take with me anywhere. Hope you are feeling better. Great rainbow photo! We keep getting cheated out of rain. I can't wait for winter. Any pics of goats? I love them!
Sas- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Maddy and the mods got me pointed to the central contact list. I'm still happy to be the contact relay for this thread. Roll call is a great idea. I got 2 rude comments.. I shouldn't be surprised at that. Some ppl just hate life. You find some great stuff thrifting! I've never heard of Pneumovax, thanks for that info and thanks for telling us about your talks with FBB. I am still upset about her. Be nice to the GF
Spookies- I'm like you- love a fan going on me all the time. I even like it in the winter. Flo was my favorite as a kid! I said "kiss my grits" all the time- even when it did not make sense
LE is the most annoying thing about bc i think. A continuous reminder of your illness.
Cami- How nice that your boss brings YOU coffee! i need a boss that does that. I use sage in my house once a year to clear out all the bad juju.
2nd- thanks so much for all your help.
MammaRay- so awesome that you adopted your son! I think adoption is such a great thing to do. I get the same way, up and down, ambivalent, then all the way in the other direction at times. I never know where i will be on a day-to-day basis. I hope it passes.
Blessings- I am so sorry your head injury is making things so hard on you. I hope that it is not a long-term issue for you.
44444- glad to see you.
Wren- I fostered for years- so much work but so rewarding. Those kittens are the cutest!
Smaarty- How is your weight loss going? I hope your girls don't cause you any more pain. Your sister's dress is beautiful. Bradly is adorable!
Phgraham - Burnin' rubber! How is Houston?
Blondie- how are you? Hoping your breathing gets easier.
Dutch- would love to see your woodwork!
Tang- how is everything going? I hope your mood has lightened.
Badger- coffee cubes are the best! I use a Toddy coffee maker, takes all the acid out of the brew so no sugar is even needed.
Nettie- enjoy your break, hope you are feeling better.
Holein1- glad your tourney was fun. How is your DH doing? Staph is such a pain!
MostlyMom- such a sweet photo of those sisters. I can't imagine trying to get through chemo as a child.
I got stung by a wasp and it really did a number on my leg. I had not been stung since i was a kid, and was not sure if I was still allergic. Had a "medium" allergic reaction, but will be getting an epipen just in case it happens again. no fun.
But super fun: I went to go see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, with Edie Brickell, and PAUL SIMON showed up too! omg! I am still excited about it. Was an amazing show!
So - anyone that wants to provide me your contact info, please PM me. If anyone wants to be my "backup", let me know.
Still thinking about FBB, and how much you all mean to me. I am so lucky to know you all, even if we never meet in person. You've been a source of strength, advice, courage, and support that I did not expect.
Cancer took a lot from me, but I got all of you, so, I think I came out ahead.
-
Happy Birthday to everyone who is having, has had or will have a birthday. -
GG! good to see you!
-
Any one up? 1:30 here . I slept a couple hours but can't go back to sleep.
-
Oh Wow I can never keep up with this thread, I remember when it was only used at night, no more it's all the time.
Sally Wind are u new? Cuz I don't remember --as so many of us are like that.
Blessings I'm so glad u'r getting an MRI tomorrow, this has really rocked on u.,
Jwow I always like to see u post and u get everybody, it takes me all day to get around to all and yet I mean to tell everybody everything.
OK now I have to google for a bit, but I'll check back shortly if anyone is up.
-
