Beautiful little "Pees"!!!!  I just got my 1st hummingbird feeder - so excited to assemble it tomorrow and watch for new little friends.

I just finished putting up a new hummingbird feeder and swing. My son and his wife gave me a new bird feeder that has solar-powered lights. What on earth is that for?  Any suggestions on how far away I should place that one from the one for the hummingbirds. 

We have a hummingbird feeder and a small-bird feeder about 4 ft apart. I'm not sure what the light is for.

I love it when they're feeding a baby the same size as the parent.

I use *The Audubon Society Master Guide to Birding In three volumes* to record the birds seen, but use any off-line and on-line source to identify. I enjoy viewing and listening to birds. So many birds I cannot see but only hear in the trees.

I take lousy photos, but keep trying!

Cornell Univ Ornithology Lab has bird songs. My DS & SIL used "birding by ear" to learn songs. It didn't help me so perhaps for advanced bird people. They made their living working with birds for 20 years.
