Tampa area BCO sisters get togethers

Poor thing about the back injury and for the trip too!!!
-
Question: While we are confirmed for Saturday June 21, how many of you would prefer Sunday, June 22 or could not make one but could make the other? -
I can do either day.
-
Saturday would be better for me, but I could probably come a bit late on Sunday.
-
I can do either Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
But I know some of us work on Saturdays, and also have church on Sundays.
Maybe Sunday - 1-1:30 ish would work?
-
Yes, church is a conflict on Sundays. I would be able to go to an earlier service, but that is not available for everyone. I was thinking about the work schedule of some of our members on Saturdays.
Right now, we are planned for the Saturday. I was just throwing it out there. We do need to plan some Sundays every few times. Maybe next time when we go to Cheesecake Factory would be a good time for that.
-
I can probably make it Saturday. Sunday works too. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
-
Sorry I wasn't able to connect with any of you during my time in St. Petersburg. Perhaps you will be able to schedule one of your get togethers while I'm there next time. My cane and I made the best of my touchy lower back situation during the time we were in Florida. Several activities had to be scaled back or postponed until the next trip but the main items on the "to do" list got crossed off. We left Saturday a.m. and had two long driving days. We got home Sunday afternoon, just in time for my husband to come down with what could be food poisoning! Poor guy.
We may make the trip again this winter.
-
Saturday or Sunday is fine for me too - if I am not having bad SE from the chemo.
-
Sandra....best wishes for your and hoping you get better! MondaysChild, either day is fine with me
-
We are staying on Saturday, June 21. My house, if everyone is okay with that.
(edited to correct date error)
-
I am assuming June 21st, correct?
-
Yes, thank you for catching that, SpecialK. I have corrected it to be June 21. -
Hooray!
-
I am thinking that the 21st should be a good day for me cause I will be 11 days post #3 - so looking forward to it!! When we get closer will you send me directions/address I am coming up 75 from sarasota county - thanks
-
Linda,
I will PM you my address. I am not far outside downtown Tampa so I-75 to the crosstown into Tampa will be your route.
-
Either day would work for me as well, June 21st it is.
-
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st!
What can we bring? A dish, a dessert?
-
I am looking forward to seeing you, too, Lee7. We might do some pot luck. I have not thought that far yet. It worked well at Lorraine's. -
I am planning on making it to the gathering. I have surgery this Wed (nothing cancer-related), but I should be well recovered by then.
Hope everyone is doing well! Looking forward to seeing everyone.
-
dll - hope everything is ok with you and that whatever your surgery is goes well. It will be good to see you!
-
Thanks, SpecialK! How are you doing? Hope that you are healing well.
I finally had my knee looked at and I have a complex tear of the meniscus, which I will have repaired Wed morning. When the orthopedic surgeon is done, my PS will tag in for an elective cosmetic procedure. My same PS is going out of his way for me yet again to save me from going under anesthesia twice; Wed isn't his normal surgery day. I am pretty excited.
-
dll - My DH had a similar knee procedure - he did great, so hope you will too. I had a meniscus tear repaired when I was 17 - I have the old-school zipper across the knee! It is nice that your PS is being accommodating. Less anesthetic is a good thing - I have struggled more than usual with anesthetic hangover these last few surgeries, but I'm on the upswing now!
-
Yay! So happy to hear that you are on the upswing, SpecialK.
Yeah, my PS went way out of his way to make things happen & went to see the ortho in person.
-
DLL66 and SpecialK, I am happy to hear good news for both of you. You are both troopers and inspirations to all of us.
I get it about the anesthesia hangover. I used to bounce back from those fairly well. Or thought I did because I had the "luxury" of being expected to do less when in more active treatment. The last two surgeries I had in 2013 were ones that recovery dragged on more than I expected. So much so, that I am dreading and delaying anything further.
-
I am definitely buying into the one week for every hour of anesthesia until you feel better deal. Just now feeling somewhat normal on the energy scale.
-
MondaysChild, is there something else you were considering having done?
-
DLL, just some fat grafting to smooth out the cleavage and minor hollowness above. Very minor touch up stuff. Wish it could be done in-office.
-
ah yes, anesthesia hangover....I have done much sleeping in the last 24 hours since I got home. I agree, MondaysChild--- it would be great if that could be an in- office procedure.
-
dll - glad you are home and hopefully on the mend!
