Dang I just realized I missed the get together. Some how this page got off my link.
-
Field trip! I'e also a former sister-in-law up there to visit as well. Could be an extended trip for me. Yowza!
-
Would someone consider taking over this thread for me, please? I find I just do not have it in me to participate in BCO any longer but do not want to abandon all of you here.
SpecialK, I think you are ideally suited because you are by far the most active participant in all areas of BCO. I think you would be a great caretaker of the group. I do not know if the Mods can assign it to another or not. Most likely, a new thread will need to be started. We have a lot of history in these 57 pages so I do hope the Mods can move it to another member.
When get-togethers are scheduled, please let me know. I will monitor for a while to see that things transitioned well, but will certainly miss later posts on plans and activity. While BCO can be less than welcoming and hurtful, you ladies have always been the best and I will hope to be included in the future gatherings.

MondaysChild, I think about you frequently!
I pray for you the best possible quality of life you can find, with treatments if they will be helpful. In checking now and then on your name to see if you had posted any more about your plans, I noted the discussion on the Stage IV forum. It's unfortunate the members/moderators haven't followed their own rules on who can post there. It's very clearly stated.
Is there anything any of us can do for you? Can you give us an update (maybe in PM if you prefer)? We're pulling for you -- many of us have fears about our own prognoses, and it hurts to see one of our friends suffering. We can identify only partially, but we do care for the very best for you.
I agree. SpecialK is well-suited to continuing with the thread. I hope we can have a get-together somewhat soon. How does late May look? Let's plan around when MondaysChild can be there.
-
MC - I would be happy to do this for you, would you like me to communicate with the Mods and ask about this or just informally be the one who handles the thread?
-
SpecialK, please ask the Mods if they can move this thread to your control and member account. Otherwise, you have to start an entirely new thread and lose all of the history of our growing friendships.
AnnAlive, thanks for letting me know you have been thinking about me. That is very kind and I appreciate it a great deal. So far I am doing well and tolerating my new treatment with relative ease, at least physically. I have to hang in suspense for now until the first week of June to know anything further. I will be rescanned at the end of May in preparation for a visit with my oncologist the first week of June when I will find out if I am responding to this treatment or having further progression.
-
MC - Done, and awaiting response. Please know that I am sending you strength to adjust to things as they come, and if you need anything just let me know.
-
MC - Mods have suggested that the header be edited to indicate I will take over management, but the OP can't be replaced. Another possibility is for me to start a new thread, and maybe have the link to the old one in the header, so we don't lose those posts? Let me know what you would like to do.
-
SpecialK, I didn't expect the Mods to be of much help. Again. This means you need to start a new thread in order to control the header, which I think is an important aspect. That is where the current gathering info needs to be found and not buried deep within the pages where new members who most need the support might not be able to find it.
So please start a new thread, and I will link to it in the header on this thread. I am sorry this will make us lose the rich history of the last three and one half years, but I must leave. If you also link in the header of your new thread, perhaps some of our written history will be salvaged.
-
SpecialK, if you could, please start the new thread now so we can get the cross-referencing between this thread and your new one completed. Maybe start with a plan for May, date and time TBD? I do not mean to push, but I would like to get this completed as soon as possible as I am anxious to move on.
-
MC - Sorry! I have been on BCO for five years but have never started a thread - I had to learn how to do it first. Would you like me to name the thread similarly - like Tampa Area BCO sisters II, or something similar, so that it is easy to find for those who don't post as frequently? Do you want me to indicate in the header that it is being created so that I can facilitate it from this point on?
All - Not sure if I can do late May as I will have fairly extensive surgery on May 17, but I can handle the thread and make y'all a reservation for then if that time works for everyone else.
-
SpecialK, once you start the thread you can improve or correct the information later. Just do not delete it, only edit it. The one thing you will not be able to change on your own is the title to the thread, although the moderators can do that for you. I think start a new one with the exact same title would be fine and probably the most useful. The contents of that can be changed later. Like you, I will have to figure out how to insert a link directing to your new thread. You will need to insert a link in your header to the old thread, if you can, to save our history.
-
MC - just did it with the II designation, hope that is ok. I also included a brief explanation for the creation of a new thread. Should we include a post here directing members to the new thread?
I tried to copy and paste the old thread using another open window and it didn't work, but it did when I used the link icon. The new and old are now connected.
-
Oh, and about May....how about May 14 which is before your surgery? We can do my house again as it is a lovely time of year for my yard. Maybe pot luck this time? Could be fun.....although I am happy to do the entire menu, It will just never be as fabulous as yours! FYI, Cheesecake Factory no longer accepts reservations. One of us has to get there early and be, ahem, assertive.
-
MC - I could probably do the 14th, I am currently unscheduled, lol! We should do a pot luck for a change up, and your house would be an awesome spot, as always. Thanks for the sweet compliment, but girl, you hold your own on the hostess front!

MC - can you put the link to the new thread in your original header too? Might be helpful?

Header updated.
