IllinoisLady, was it this post you were trying to edit?
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/6/topic/5...
We took a look and it appears that when you copied and pasted the quote it also took some formatting from the original source, and put in those extra lines at the start, and funky line breaks in the quote itself. We were able to edit to make it look like a more usual post.
When grabbing formatted text from another source it often helps to first paste it into a plain text editor (like WordPad or TextEdit, or an email document) first, which will take out format code when you paste again from the new source.

Thanks,Hope I car remember all that.

Hi mods. Just wanted to let you know that when I create a link in my post and choose "Open link in a new tab" it isn't applied. The link opens up in the same window.
-
lago, we've been seeing that too, and have resorted to the Open Link in New Window option that appears (on a Mac) by holding down the Control key when clicking on a link. Not ideal, and not intuitive for readers - we'll ask the tech team to add this to their long queue, thank you!

on a PC it's right click. Right click should work on a mac too if you have a right click mouse… Yes I am both Mac & PC literate
-
I've had to log in lately, (haven't changed any settings) and slowness alternates between tolerable, and "just leave the site and get on with life".......
-
Still having trouble with slow connection - or whatever you call it when I click on a topic and it takes up to ten seconds for the topic to open.
What up?
-
All morning, after waiting about a full minute for "active topics" to come up, I've been getting the following screen. The third time, it locked up my device and I had to restart. Between what I mentioned earlier and this, I have to think something really strange is going on. The general slowness seems to happen all the time now, not just sporadic anymore.

-
Make that five times. I couldn't even access this thread again through "active topics". I had to go through "all topics" to get here this time.
-
Active Topics
The Discussion Boards experienced a technical issue from which it could not recover.
System administrators have been notified of this problem and will work hard to make sure it does not happen again.
Meanwhile, you may be able to continue to use other areas of our site.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
..................................
Just happened to me too. All I was doing was going to the next page on the active thread. soooooooooooo frustrating to be on the bco site lately!!!!!!
-
Might just be a coincidence, but just checked on pc and it's not giving me any issues. Both this message and the "too many people using this site" happened on android. Also, it took forever to "log out" on android yesterday; about three minutes. Forgot to mention that.
-
It happened to me on my laptop....I can no longer access bco via my android phone since one of the updates...
-
Well, so much for that theory.
-
But it was such a good theory!!!
Delayed response from me, BECAUSE IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN...... so bye bye for today bco. Hope things get sorted out soon.
-
YIKES!! Will report all this. Please provide as many details (computer, device, browser) as possible, and I'll pass it to the techs tomorrow (not working today). I am on a Mac, using Safari, and my speed has been much better (so far). BUT, we need to get this fixed, so please keep letting us know !!
Sorry!
Melissa and the Mods -
Happens on both my tablet 4.2.2 and phone 4.4.2. Much worse on 4.4.2....not through data, using wi-fi, so issue isn't cell provider.
-
Ok, thanks for the details, leggo!
-
Using Firefox 29.0.1 under Mac OS 10.6.3, I get the same error message, but only on Page 4 of "Active Topics". I was able to read all the other pages of Active Topics and had no problems getting to this thread or logging in to post this comment. I got the error message on pg 4 both before and after logging in.
-
and thanks, curveball!
-
Mods - trying to check threads and will only load at page 1. If you choose last or pick the number of the last page, or put last page number in address - it will ONLY go to the very first post. This happened on "older women" and on "so what's for dinner". This is really nuts.
It's been bad enough with the slow response times so that I can finish a book chapter between waiting to get back to "my favorites" or to get to the next page of a thread or even choosing a new thread from my favorites. I find that as others have posted before, it's not much fun trying to keep up w/friends on this site.
-
Like MinusTwo I noticed the same thing just now. Good grief! -
this morning when I try to read my latests posting on my fav threads...it opens up as of the first posting not the last~~
I am on windows 7 with internet explorer
-
yes, that is happening to me too. on the "if you are not stage four but have questions thread and a couple others too. at first, i was so excited that so many women had posted! and then i looked at the date and time, and it would only take me to the fist page of posts, no matter what page i would click on! I am on a mac, using safari, and ive never had this problem before. Also, when i go and visit my favorite topics, the first couple i click on load pretty fast. after that though they are so. slooooooow! so i have learned that if i want to read faster, i close safari and then reopen BCO, and read a couple more! i have about 12 faves, and so that is how i do it, opening and closing, and reading two at a time! so to come here and post, i closed and reopened, and it did take me to page 51! wierd!
-
Same on my android phone. I opened 3 threads all went to pm 1. If you click on last it takes you back to the first page. I was on earlier and it worked fine.
-
I'm having the same problem that MinusTwo just reported. I can only access page one of any thread.
-
triple positive is working, femara is not. and this thread continues to load correctly.
-
I'm stuck on page 1 of Older Forum. Wow !!!! Hope someone is working on the site because this truly is a bummer. Interesting that the right page opens up here.

-
Same problem, unable to see any new posts except this thread! Experiencing it on Android tab, PC, and iphone.
-
Members, Thanks for letting us know. We are investigating the problem. Hope to have an answer shortly. The Mods
-
I am also getting only the first page of multi-page threads. I was able to see all the pages of the active threads list today.
