Lisa that little noisy bird is a Bush Tit and it's on my DH's list to capture. He was wondering if you have a bird feeder in your yard.He is also after the Stellar Jay these are common feeder birds.
-
no bird feeder other than the hummingbird one
-
I have seen the Stellar Jays in the mountains but not along the coast personally. We have a National preserve in Imperial Beach that is known for all kinds of migrating birds.

Right now we are in the Santa Cruz mountains birding😘California is such a beautiful state.

Mumito, Glad he got the Stellar. We have seen both bush tits and stellars in our yard. We had a bush tit nest in our little dogwood a couple of years ago. We do have a bird feeder a birdbath and a jungle-like yard.
-
Lisa - Hope you are safe from the fires in San Diego. Prayers going out to you. We've actually had a bit of rain in North Texas this past week.
Watching an eagle banding progressing (3 pm CA time scheduled - another hour) on Catalina Island.
-
so far so good with the fires. Here
My DH promised me a trip to Catalina this year

I found this red-winged blackbird at the lake the other day. They fly almost as fast as the hummingbirds, so I'm glad this guy was walking
-
Lovely photo!!

Thanks, Teka! How are things in NY? I have a sister on Long Island, who's glad the winter is over.
